This is a boutique hotel that is a little bit on the tired side, but is decently maintained, is quiet & clean, is in a great location and has an excellent attentive staff. I’ve stayed in a lot of budget hotels in Manhattan and this one is my favorite. Plus you get free excellent bagels every morning.

The bed in this room was awful with poor quality sheets. It felt worse than a pullout. The room was completely bare with no pictures. The room was extremely loud from the street noise which made it very difficult to sleep.

We cut our stay short and although the night before we were told that we could cancel the next night. BUT, when we went to check out, they told us that we had to take it up with Expedia. It was necessary to have an Expedia representative intervene in order to get our room refunded.

Only there for one night, but the room was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the elevator was quick. Very close to everything we needed. Our only complaint was that breakfast didn't start until 8am on Sunday morning and we had to catch a train.

Staff was great. Location is perfect , a lot of things are walking distance. Good places to eat within the area. Felt safe walking early morning and late night here , they lock the doors and require you to scan in with your room key.
The room was not the cleanest, there was black stuff inside the sink knobs in the restroom. Shower head had black on it along with the shower faucet.
The breakfast was a bit misleading , it’s just muffins and bagels but no toaster for the bagels.

From the moment we arrived at the Chelsea Savoy, the front desk staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Check-in was smooth, and when we got to our room, it was spotless and very well maintained.

We went downstairs to enjoy some hot tea and hot chocolate, and a staff member kindly helped me with the hot water machine when I wasn’t sure how it worked. Small gestures like that really stood out. Throughout our entire stay, the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They made it easy to approach them whenever we needed anything, and it was always pleasant seeing them at the door.

At the end of our stay, they were very understanding about extending our time and allowed us to store our luggage for the day. This was especially helpful since one of us was traveling for work. When we returned later, one of the staff members immediately remembered us and knew we were there to claim our luggage — such thoughtful attention to detail.

The housekeeping staff was wonderful as well. They provided extra towels without hesitation and promptly replaced our sheets when needed.

Overall, our stay was memorable because of the exceptional people who work there. Not a single person missed the mark. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this hotel based on the outstanding service alone.

Very nice hotel in great location close to Penn Station but in the less crowded Chelsea neighborhood. Room was relatively large (for Manhattan) and clean. Staff all very responsive and friendly. Fresh bagels & muffins for breakfast included. Highly recommended for great value place to stay.

They win the award for the friendliest staff! We arrived early, and they went out of their way to quickly find us a room. Their breakfast is simple — bagels, muffins, and coffee — but the bagels are authentic NY bagels and the huge muffins come from a local bakery. Wayyy better than the continental breakfasts at other hotels.

The hotel is a little older but very clean. This was our 3rd time staying there. We could choose a newer hotel but the location is so great. It’s super close to the subways, there’s a Target a block away, and Trader Joe’s is just around the block.

Overall, this place did the trick. The customer service a the front desk was excellent and the rate I paid was more than reasonable. This place is a bit dated and the rooms are bare bones but our room was mostly clean. There was a little bit of hair in the sink and tub, the toilet seat was loose, and the tub had a slow drain but it wasn’t the end of the world. The bagels and coffee in the morning were lights out! I probably won’t stay here again but I got my money’s worth. If you are just looking for a place in Chelsea to hang your hat, this place is fine.

This is our 3rd time staying at Chelsea Savoy and the place is just as we remembered. Our room was so clean and cozy with a beautiful view! The staff was kind as always with checking in our bags and replacing a light bulb that went out. I cannot recommend them enough :)

Staff was great, but the room needed a complete renovation. Furniture is old & worn, beds are like sleeping on a board. Curtains are old & smell like smoke even though it was a “non-smoking” room. Elevators didn’t always work. Otherwise, the location was great.

There was a good customer service from the staff. I truly appreciated the offer the service of holding our bags before check-in and after check-in so that we can go ahead and roam around if you are hoping for an early check-in, I don’t think this is the place because they get booked quite often and pretty full capacity also, the room was standard. It was quite small but overall it was a good experience. The room can be a little bit loud on the second floor because of the street nearby

The staff was fine super courteous and welcoming. Once going up in the elevators and reaching our floor there was a heavy funky odor of idk laundry scent. It was artificial and thick on the tongue and throat. The room was the same. Wall to wall carpet and singe marks from cigarettes on the furniture. For a couple more bucks or less we could have stayed somewhere else and much nicer. Very noisy all night long.

Yes. Everything was great. Some minor comments. The WiFi was a bit slow. Hot water tap in the bathroom sink would run some dark brown liquid for a second or two. This consistently happened and seemed gross. The breakfast offered is quite minimal.

Room was a little bit outdated, but the most spacious I ever found in NY - been traveling there every year since 2015. Staff extremely helpfull, cleaning service perfect. They keep things honest by offering pastries and muffins along coffee in the morning, what was another good reason to stay at this hotel. Just around the corner of a subway station, I highly recommend.

Price and location is the best you'll get. The rooms are clean but very old; prime but a little noisy. They gave us a sheet and two paper thin pillows, but plenty of towels and toiletries. We asked for extra pillows and it wasn't an issue. If you're doing a cheap short trip, its fine. But expect the bare minimum.

The rooms was clean. The continental breakfast was good, fresh daily bagels. Missing would be a microwave in each room. Not a fancy hotel, but clean and does the job. Liked that location was situated between several major subway lines which made the subway adventure easier and less confusing. Walked to MSG and several good restaurants. Electrical outlets was a hit or miss.

First time in New York this hotel had a spacious room which was clean and fresh. All the staff are friendly and the rooms are cleaned regularly. The breakfast is pretty much the same every day with bagels and muffins tea coffee water etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel and the location is great. I will definitely be staying again

Truly, it was a great stay !!

however it lacked some common yet modern features.
We had a lot and heavy luggage. The two sets of double, front doors were vintage, on par with the aesthetic yet very uncomfortable to navigate through on our own with no push to open access.
Important to note for guest with disabilities like myself.

We only had access to one outlet and one power strip on the other side of the room, so we couldn’t keep our phones close to us when charging
No gym, but we know that upon booking. It does have a refrigerator, which I was not aware of so that’s a plus.
And breakfast was exclusively bakery items that could not be toasted. Coffee with no milk alternatives.

Great hotel for a New York visit. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. Morning pastries/bagels were perfect for a start to the day. Staff was always friendly and the location (on the #1 train line) made it easy to get either uptown or downtown. I would def stay here again.

If I could add a couple things, I would’ve appreciated more places to charge phones/devices and a bigger variety for breakfast. I will say, the muffins looked very tasty. All in all, I’d stay again!

The staff was great! They were the best part of the hotel! It is definitely outdated. There were lots of random stains both in the hallway and in the room. The bed was the most uncomfortable, hard bed I have ever slept on. Somehow the pillows were harder than the mattress. It was safe and the size of the room was great!

The room was very spacious for a New York City hotel room. But it was very old and plugging your phone and was not easy as all the plugs fall out of the wall and are in difficult locations. But it had everything you needed and ironing board a hairdryer the TV it was warm. The bed mattresses were terrible. But we were so tired. It didn’t matter. Breakfast was fabulous. They bring muffins and bagels from a bakery, and they are delicious and the coffee was good too. The location is great.
