Staff is helpful. Most staff speak some English. They also allow you to practice your French and are patient.
The cleaning is a bit inconsistent . Sometimes replace things sometimes not but overall very clean
It is a bit dated and could use a good attention to detail. Their posted price is 399 euro a night so at that price a bit more is expected.
Food was fine. Also kept clean. But we were there 2 weeks and exactly the same thing served daily
The free coffee/ hot chocolate was nice
It has an elevator. That's important for big suitcases and at the end of a long day walking
Overall we would not hesitate to stay here just a few points to mention.

Tiny, clean, and comfortable. Lovely neighborhood with lots of shops, restaurants, and cafes, but not too touristy. Longish walk to Notre Dame, close to the Jardin des Planters. Easy to get a Metro or bus to anywhere else. Would definitely come back!

Nice view from our room window. The only issue (because I suffer from anxiety) was the very small elevator. Other than that, my niece and I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel de France. Merci!

Location is excellent, close to metro (5 minutes walk from where you can take M7 which connects to the rest of Paris) and multiple different restaurants around - Indian, Chinese, Lebanese and coffee places. The area in general is clean, safe ans quiet.

Staff - hotel staff was exceptionally helpful. They very helpful in planning our journeys and kept our luggage for free while we walked around after check out.

The room is decent. Balcony has a pleasant view. Beds and pillow are comfortable . We will definitely comes again.

The room they reserve for Expedia is not a hotel room. There are bars for the windows because you are on the street, it is directly behind the check in desk and next to the elevator. You would have a better stay at a hostel. Do not stay here at all.

Our room was truly tiny, but comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, always recognizing us as we went out and back to explore. Getting a G7 taxi to the RER to go to the airport with all our baggage was tricky because of our poor French skills, but the lady at the desk took the phone for us and helped immensely. Very nice people.

A lovely, quaint place to relax in Paris.

What a great place. The rooms are tiny but comfortable and quiet. They have a room in which your luggage can be kept if you arrive early. We dropped off our luggage here before we returned our rental car, then brought the Metro from the car rental to the hotel.

There are plenty of great places to eat. Also a wine/whisky tasting shop nearby. We also took advantage of the Office Depot to box up souvenirs to mail home.

The staff was friendly. The location is good, with lots of cafes and the metro station within walking distance. Also within walking distance to the Panthéon, Jardin du Luxembourg, and the Catacombs. Everything appeared very clean and the housekeepers were thorough. The size of the room is decent for Paris. I was very pleased with the quality and variety of breakfast. My ONLY complaint is the shower. It is so small that there isn’t even room to turn around without accidentally hitting the knob (and I am a fairly small person), and the water goes all over the floor. I didn’t feel like I could take a really thorough shower because I was rushing so as to make less of a mess. But overall, it was a good hotel for a good price.

This hotel is a solid 3 stars. The lobby area is cute and modern, but my room was dated and needed a lot of love. There was no toilet paper when I arrived, and the tv was placed at the top of the wall. The room needs some art, new furniture, and some touch ups. Also- some instructions on how to use the shower and open the window would have been nice- I only figured that out on the last day. Also- there was no curtain on the window at all. Location was great, but room 68 needs help.

Where the hotel is located is ideal to get around Paris as the metro station is near to the hotel. The hotel room is quite small for two people to move around in. The lift is also made for one person at a time, especially if you have luggage with you. I would stay here again due to where the hotel is located

Perfect location with quick access to all central tourist attractions. Lots of cafes and bistros with delicious food too! Very clean and spacious, especially for Paris standards. For the hefty price, the rooms are extremely small—no space to move around the bed or turn around in the shower. We won’t mention the size of the elevator.
Amenities are very minimal, and the internet unstable, slow, frustrating, and insecure.
The 12 Euro breakfast was nothing to write home about. By the time we came down for breakfast, which was by no means late, there was no fruit to be had, and the girl who tended the so-called dining room was more interested in being in the back with her cell phone or outside smoking than indoors tending to the tables and replenishing food items.
Of the 6 or 7 staff we came across, one can definitely be said to have a pleasant disposition, another had to be cajoled into being pleasant. The rest couldn’t be asked.
This said, the beds were made every day and the towels changed if you indicated for them to be changed.

Basic stay in the middle of Paris

The hotel is in a great location, within easy walking distance of the metro, the Jardin des Plantes and Jardins du Luxembourg. It's in a safe neighborhood, with lovely little boutique shops and many restaurants. The staff were lovely, very friendly, and the place was clean enough. On the other hand, the room was very small. I had a double room, and nearly fell over the bed when I walked in the room. The bed was hard and unyeilding, but the sheets were clean. The bathroom was also tiny, but had decent soap, plenty of hot water and a good shower. Overall, it was expensive for what it was, but it put me in the centre of Paris, which was convenient for meeting up with friends.

Lubo and Kevin on the front desk and the lovely lady who coordinates breakfast are amazing. This stay was not stellar due to a night desk employee’s inability to give correct information or even use his computer to help plan buses and routes. André would benefit from additional training.

HdFQL is a small, nonextravagant hotel; it is a great value for the price. We showed up, and the person at the front desk easily found our reservation. We immediately went up to our room, which was small and clean. The location is within a block of a metro stop, and the neighborhood has plenty of food options. If/when we go back to Paris, we will definitely look into staying here.

The room is small with very basic thing, no tea/coffee, no tissue paper.
And air conditioner is not working. The hotel provide fan, but with temperature above 30 degrees, it didn't help at all. The room is under directly sunshine, we couldn't stay after 10am during the hot day.
Paris night was cool, but our room was facing the street and we couldn't open it if we wanted a quiet sleep.

The neighborhood of the hotel (Quartier Latin) is amazing. There numerous dining options nereby including French restaurants as well as a lot of international cuisines. The hotel is very close to the metro station and bus stop. Also, it is in walking distance to many Pantheon, Jardin du Luxembourg, Jardin des Plants, Notre Dame, etc. The room was very clean and tidied every day. The hotel staff (except one person) were very friendly. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay.

The neighbourhood was great. Very quaint, not super busy, tons of restaurants and beautiful streets to explore. Also very close to metro so very convenient. Staff were great. The staff were lovely and friendly here, and it was well located being close to a metro station. It’s a short walk to a lovely street full of delis, bakeries and restaurants (Rue Mouffetard) and about a 20-30 minute walk to the lively Latin quarter. The room is tiny but we were expecting that and it didn’t bother us, however the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The mattress was out of shape, caved in at the centre and must have been about a decade old - unforgivable in a hotel. A decent mattress is a must! It ruined our stay as we couldn’t sleep and felt so tired, which is such a shame.

I had an interior room so no view and very little outside light. Room was clean and plenty of hot water. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very good and filling. A block away from a subway station and 20 min walk to Notre Dame. Lots of restaurants nearby from inexpensive Asian or Doner Kebab to fancier bistros.

This is a nice, pleasant hotel in a great neighborhood. It has convenient metro access on the #7 line, and it’s surrounded by reasonably priced restaurants and some shopping.

My room was a single room - small but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and everything worked.

What do I have to complain about? The elevator is tiny, as is the shower stall. It takes a while for hot water to reach the sixth floor. I really don’t think these are major inconveniences.

The staff is really helpful in recommending local restaurants, finding corkscrews and getting your things at breakfast. Breakfast itself had quite a good selection, and good coffee is available until midnight.

I’ve stayed here before and I’ll continue to stay here.

Recommend this hotel!

Amazing location and it is safe to stay here for two nights. The hotel is closed to the metro station. Nearby there are supermarket, cafes and restaurants. You can easily find what you want.

The room is not so spacious but the facilities are new. I like the bathroom and I took a relaxing shower here.

In the morning when I opened the curtain, I can see the beautiful view of Paris! It was so refreshing!

The woman who served the breakfast was nice and she did a good job. But the reseptionists were not that service minded. The room was too hot far too hot because of a broken radiator and a defect air condition. They didn't manage to turn it off, so we had to sleep with an open window the hole night. The room was at the ground floor. First, we got a room with two beds instead of tree single beds that we had ordered
