Rooms were fairly basic but nice enough. 1 restaurant with same sort of food each day. There’s a pool bar in the day and a bar open in the evening. Not enough loungers by the pool as people leave their towels out from early morning. There are signs saying people can’t do that but no evidence to show anyone was checking. Not enough parasols so most of the beds are in direct sun all day with no shade options

Liked: proximity and ease of getting to the beach, the food/buffet, the friendliness of staff, the gym was basic but sufficient

Could be improved:

Ants in room - lots of them crawling everywhere, even over phone when on it
Sliding door in bathroom didn't close properly so no privacy
Wifi - didnt work for us so we used our own data
Shampoo/shower gel dispensers didnt actually work - the pumps seemed broken and couldnt be removed from wall so couldnt use
No milk provided for tea at the self service areas, would be easy enough to provide little cartons. Had to buy milk from Spar

The property is tired and is in need to a refurb which it looks as though they have started to attempt. Our room was opposite the lift and the corridor was incredibly noisy.
The food wasn’t great. Whilst it was an all inclusive deal it was mass produced and the same old stuff repeated day after day.
Our stay was ok, the staff were lovely and friendly and all working very hard but we probably won’t return.

Disappointing stay.

In general the hotel was tired and run down. Cracked floor tiles throughout, many areas needing painted, broken sun loungers. Drinks were poor, bar shut at 11.30pm. Food was ok but restaurant felt like a school canteen. Room was very basic, towels old and thin, fridge didn’t work (reported 3 times, still not fixed), aircon not great. Had to pay for the room safe!!
Only good thing was its location, lovely beach and cafes/restaurants nearby. We ended up eating out everyday to get some decent coffee, food and drinks.
Sorry to say I’ll most definitely not be back.

The Location was perfect, just across the road from the beach. Lovely Hotel and friendly staff.
There wasn't a great selection of drinks for All-Inclusive package. No option to buy different drinks.
Poolside Music too loud at certain points of the day and the same music played each day was annoying!
Hard to relax when Volume was too loud.

It was a long walk to my room and I had to climb stairs to get to the lift. During my 3 day stay I had to get my key card renewed 4 times, which involved walking all the way back to reception and back to my room again. When I checked in I was originally given the key to a room that was already occupied. I walked in on a couple .

Went here last year, where i gave a 5 star review (hence returning). The property condition seems to have worsened over the year with no evidence of maintenance. Check in was delayed 3 times, not what you want with 2 kids after 7 hours traveling. On the plus side, the facilities are great as is the location of the hotel, staff are all friendly and kids entertainers are great as too is the food.

We were all inclusive and had to eat out every meal. The food was dreadful. The restaurant was drab and dreary. Resembles a school canteen. Entertainment was more for families than couples. This holiday ended us costing us a lot of money. One bar opened and you had to queue for ages. One of the worst all inclusive hotels I have stayed in.

We were very well taken care at Sol Lanzarote, the rooms were amazing, with a great view, the staff was incredible (especially in the dining room).
The only downside is the excessive noise: most of the people want to relax but have to listen to loud techno on the pool due to some fitness activity for 3 people. Also, why do we have to have breakfast with loud music outside? Considering the target audience (families and older people), I can´t think of anyone who is happy to start the morning with loud techno.

Pros: Great Location for an easy trip. Lovely, helpful staff and a great selection of food always available. Drinks were good for an all-inclusive. Most other things great for the price, really would go back again.

Cons(small things): Coffee could do with an actual bean grinder rather than powder, to go above and beyond. Never been charged to use the safe in a hotel before, bear in mind. Also deposit for towels, bit odd.

Overall a great stay and would really recommend.

Stayed at the Sol 2 years ago & we couldnt fault anything, however this year i did not think the rooms were cleaned properly the sheets were never changed & the floor was only cleaned once in seven days we had to wear slippers or shoes because the floor felt so dirty apart from the room everything else was great, we had a fab holiday & would definitely return if the rooms were cleaned properly.

Great 4 night stay. Beds not the best. Room was clean. All-inclusive food was average but plenty of choice.

Pool area was great but beware the towels start going on sunbeds early and the usual nonsense of not seeing anybody on them until gone dinner somtimes

Nice resort with an amazing staff.. We had just a lovely stay, 3 big pools plus one small for infant,which was perfect for us. The hotel is right on front of the beach and the old town is only few min away by taxi (for a 6€ ride) there is also a small area, 3min walking distance, with pubs and some shops. The only bad things I can say about the hotel are: the alcholic drinks are horrible, very cheap quality (but you can pay and get the good stuff), the food is ok nothing great, but everything is made up thanks to all the amazing stuff always willing to help and make your stay as much comfortable as possible. Special thanks to Rene at the buffet, Alberto at the bar and Aleks the housekeeper. Overall a very nice holidays

The food was absolutely wonderful as usual.....one of the reasons we keep returning to this hotel, the new arrangements for serving yourselves drinks is a very good idea and has removed the queues that used to happen in the evening. The staff are absolutely brilliant especially the way the relate to the children, especially the dining room staff,they are always smiling and work at amazing speed. the kitchen staff are really efficient and at no time did any of of the food items run out...well done

Lovely relaxed hotel in a great location. Food quality was mostly good, but variable - would benefit from less variety perhaps, so they could focus on the dishes provided. Also vegetarian food wasn’t labelled, so hidden meat kept turning up. If they invested in heating for one of the big pools it would make a huge difference. Would definitely visit again!

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The rooms were big and there was plenty of cupboards etc and the bathroom was huge. The hotel was always clean, the food was superb & the staff were very helpful & friendly. The evening entertainment was excellent. There were always plenty of sunbeds although not always around the pool. This hotel exceeded my expectations and we had a wonderful time.

The proximity of the beach and the laid back feel of the hotel was great. Lovely family resort. Food was ok, but could have been better. We were unfortunate to be staying during the same week as a chav scouse women who kept half the hotel awake till 2am. She was so loud, i can only imagine she was speaking to people in Playa Blanca.

The hotel is in need of renevation although clean it’s looking old and drab the rooms are now sparse and as the majority of guests are English speaking there are no UK tv channels on the room package. The food was very poor and repetitive and never hot. Do not know how this hotel has kept its 4 star rating as it need to be reappraised this is our 3 rad year there and will be our last. The hotel now is marketed as I assume a family hotel which is good but not if you are a couple as there is no adult only zones

We thought the all inclusive package was very good value. The food, drink and activities were all good and the room was comfortable and very spacious, as the rooms had mostly been apartments in the past.Location is excellent, in front of the beach, promenade and close to shops and amenities. The first plane ariving at 7.00am is noisy, if you have the huge patio doors open, but after that, you do not hear it any more. Mostly, there is no noise apart from that of the sea.
The downsides were the poor Wifi reception, which made it difficult to download music etc, which was a pity, as there were no English Channels on the beautiful wide screen TV, just foreign news programmes in English. There was also a smell of sewage in the beautiful garden in front of our block (the furthest right), as the treatment centre is in front of the garden. However, we could not smell it on our balcony or in our room.
All in all, we had a wonderful holiday and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. If Wifi, TV and sewage system were improved, it would be perfect.

Great hotel, stopped here before and would again, the all inclusive is now local spirits and drinks and cocktails, water bottles have been stopped to cut on waste, so bring a bottle to refill. The staff are lovely, fani on the bar is a bit miserable but 99 percent lovely. The hotel is clean and have great facilities and its in the quiet end of puerto del carmen in Matagorda only 5 mins in a taxis from airport.

Nice hotel with lovely staff. Rooms are clean and spacious. The general areas of the hotel have become old and tired and there are areas around the Hotel especially the pool areas which require maintenance and upgrade.
The standard of food has also dropped since our last stay two years ago. The lifts are very creamy and don’t open on a level floor and the sun beds need to be cleaned as a priority as they are very grubby. The ‘false grass’ areas around the pool of the hotel also need replacing as they do t appear to be ever cleaned.
Generally the hotel is nice and clean (internally) with friendly staff but the general condition of the pool area has degraded and the standard of food has dropped.

A value for money holiday

Hotel was clean and well staffed by happy to help employees. Rooms were spacious and had all expected amenities, as well as cleaned to a high standard daily.
The whole vibe about the place was chilled and laid back , and this despite it being occupied by lots of kids of all ages lol
Everyone just seemed to want to get on with having a good time and enjoying the sun, way it should be !
All inclusive buffet food was fine , exactly what you would expect at any other like for like holiday resort. The big plus on the food side was the snack bar, open throughout day with a never ending supply of mainly fast food types with added bonus of salad stuffs and fresh fruit, a nice choice to have available. And for the kids it must have been heaven, mountains of sweets always available lol
With the beach in easy access it made it a very satisfactory resort, no dramas, just a nice and enjoyable experience.

would like to thank all the staff for making it a very pleasant experience , and would happily suggest to anyone wishing to visit, be it with kids or not, to do so, you won't be disappointed.

Staff could not do enough to assist or make your stay more enjoyable. Food was good but not varied so much due to it always being buffet style. Hotel is an older original building looking a little tires in areas. But overall its a great place to be with a reasonable amount of facilities and being so close to the beach helps.

Paid extra for a Seaview. See attached photo. Mentioned this at check out. Was told some people class that as a good view. quite a disappointing response. Not worth the extra money I paid.
Most of the dining furniture in the restaurant was plastic garden furniture.
Table and chairs in the room were also plastic garden furniture.

Was advertised all inclusive but was not

Booked this hotel as advertised on @expedia all inclusive but when checking in Abel was not surprised to her us say all inclusive when they had us down as room only as he explained we weren’t the only couple who had booked through Expedia with the same expectations. Advert states it’s all inclusive and Expedia only had different style rooms in options(sea view etc) at no point did it say this was room only booking. I don’t have any good feed back to share from Expedia as I was told they investigated this and found nothing wrong. Note the advert on Expedia website has now change with the name now sol lanzarote.
Spoke to Expedia on phone and was advised to pay the money take a copy of bill and send it into complaints dept and I would be refunded. To be fair to hotel I would not have booked this hotel for the total cost of my holiday.

Sol lanzarote is right next door to airport but surprisingly the noise from planes didn’t bother us.
The food was what you expect from all inclusive there is always something you could eat, snack bar had burgers,pizza, hot dogs and chips every day. Beer on pump self service and cocktails served at bar.
Safe in room subject to local charge and towels available at a charge too.
Rooms where clean and tidy. Both room and bathrooms where quite large, we stayed in a sol room.
Beach easily accessed at rear of hotel within a short walking distance to small shopping Center with bars, longer walk to main strip. Taxis or buses all day long.

The food was to a good quality but not much options especially for the dessert. Staff were all welcoming And friendly. Would just about give it a 4 star however we have a lovely time

We returned to Sol because we had such a good time last year and we were not disappointed. The Hotel is kept clean and fresh and the grounds are very pleasant. The proximity to the beach could not be bettered, that too was always kept clean, though I don't think it belongs to Sol. We would go again in the future.

Hotel was beautiful, let down by Saturday’s entertainment and sundays (st Patrick’s weekend) but fridays was excellent and the free exercise classes were brill. Apartments were clean and the complimentary flip flops and beach bag were great.
Would have liked the pool to be open in the early morning for a swim but other than that it was great and food was lovely

A magic Holiday

This place is brilliant . The selection of food was exceptional ,steaks and fish cooked in front of you, warm bread selections at every meal,deserts fresh fruit dried fruits chocolate fountains that are chocolate not chocolate and vegetable oil mix.Anybody not spoilt for choice at all mealtimes has got a serious problem. The rooms are light extremely spacious and spotlessly clean . All the staff were extremely helpful and had smiles that were genuine.10 out of 10 for the food ,staff, and accommodation .Will I be back Most definitely

Lovely hotel. Great staff. I think the name is a little deceiving (Lanzarote Sol-All Inclusive) we believed we had all inclusive but found out only self catering but not sure it was the hotels fault or the travel agent but I still find it a bit of a misleading name.

A good holiday, but disappointing weather.

We enjoyed our holiday at Sol Lanzarote; the food was good especially lunch, the location was great, facilities were good, entertainment excellent. it was everything it said on the label. However the weather was unusually cold and disappointing during our stay and the hotel just did not have any capacity to provide heating of any kind and it was uncomfortably cold inside the hotel, especially at night in our room.

Hotel near beach and traffic free sea front

Hotel from was clean and well maintained by friendly staff. Staff at all times were pleasant to deal with. The bath in the room could be replaced with a shower instead of the two way tap adjuster (shower or tap). Towel rail near bath looked like someone had grabbed it when slipping -- needs attention.

we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's close to the airport so only took 10 mins transferring. The check in was quick and efficient and the staff were very friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we were happy with the standard of housekeeping.
Food was varied and plentiful and drinks were to a good quality too.

Ok hotel but not a friendly feeling as I have experienced at previous Lanzarite hotels.
The food was poor. I ate breakfast but avoided lunch & dinner.
The alcoholic serve yourself drinks were questionable & I even wonder if maybe they were watered down??

Lovely hotel on beachfront

Stayed for a week and really couldn’t fault this hotel. They catered for everyone, had plenty of sun loungers around the pool, food and drink you could just help yourself to, comfy spacious rooms, great entertainment team and helpful friendly staff! Brilliant holiday

Hotel Sol was ok. Not worth the price as we paid for suite and it was a bit smelly, view was average and balcony was smaller than any others we saw.
A couple of requests made on booking (few months before) were not even acknowledged or replied to such as rooms close by for my parents and ourselves (we were in different buildings!) and bathtubs if possible (got one in ours only).
Food was varied and not too bad, service was ok, but entertainment was too loud and shrieky!
Wifi weak in rooms.

Great location really close to the airport

Really enjoyed our short break at the Sol Lanzarote , literally on the beach , if you are fit rent a bike and take the cycle path it goes for miles but go in the morning before it gets to hot . Food was great , September when we went so nice and quiet , might be different in August with all the kids there . Definitely would go again by a week would be enough .

Cycle shop on site, Gym but mainly weights however spin classes available including water spin classes hotel next to beach, rooms large, good air conditioning, 3 pools, ideal for families, evening shows good. Rooms very clean, hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

Great hotel in a great location

Had a lovely week.
Room very spacious, cleaned daily, the photos of the room shown on web site was exactly what we got! (previous experience has shown hotel rooms never match up to the photos seen when booking)
Would opt for a sea view room next time though.
All hotel staff really helpful.
All inclusive really good. Good food and drink with some nice little additions like the chocolate fondue, which was great for the kids (and adults!) good choice-some things repetitive but that's to be expected.
Good evening entertainment. We did feel the children overpowered the evenings and sometimes distrupted the adult show. The children were built up with their entertainment, which was followed straight away by the adults show. It is unrealistic to expect the children to calm down immediately for the acts. This does need to be looked at. Maybe having adult/children's entertainment in different areas? We did see a lot of couples of all ages just wanting to chill out and instead having kids running around them screaming. You do expect to have lots of children in an all inclusive, and they should be able to enjoy themselves, but the couples do need some consideration in the evenings too! It's such a shame because the Sol Lanzarote is a fantastic hotel for everybody, it just needs a little tweaking in the evenings.

Friendly, nice food and lovely views. Hotel is great for families. I went with my girlfriend and loved it but night times were spent exploring the local area and bars as the hotel entertainment is based at kids.

Nice hotel, near the sea and shops

I has a room to myself and it was spacious. I would have preferred a double bed rather than twin beds but no real issues there. I has my bedding changed every day which was great. The food got better as the week went on. Fresh prawns and muscles made my day.
The maid service was good and the bar staff friendly.
The only let down was the rude waitress with short hair and staff who would bump into you rather than ask you to excuse them. Strange behaviour, perhaps they need retraining.

Great hotel, incredible staff, coffee undrinkable

We booked in at the last moment for 5 nights all-inclusive, and had a great time. The food on offer was simply excellent, both in terms of quality and choice, and there was never a shortage of taste experiences on offer. There's plenty for kids to do, and the evening shows were entertaining. The most obvious drawback was the absolutely appalling coffee - it was literally undrinkable, and the lack of tea/coffee-making facilities in the room meant we couldn't even make our own (note for next time: take a travel kettle). In addition, there's no food available after 10pm and even a basic cup of tea can be hard to get hold of at times.

Nice hotel, great for the price paid

More set up for families - we were just a couple, but still offered everything we wanted from a chilled week in the sun. Food was good and plenty of different choice, pool area was good, lot's of entertainment if you want it.

Only 2 quite minor downsides - wifi was pretty much non-existent, good in a way though as it stopped me checking my work e-mails! The air con was pretty bad in the room - Ok when it's only 25 degrees but I imagine in summer you'd want it working better.

Definitely stay here if you are looking at places for around £500-£700 all inclusive

my daughter (age 12) and I arrived at 1230pm and check-in wasn't until 3pm but our room was ready and we were able to have lunch.

we were there for five nights in April 2017. it was really busy as it was school holidays (to be expected)

staff were friendly and assisted us with booking a trip to the volcanic region and to Rancho Texas.

Location in quiet beachfront area 5 minutes in cheap taxi-ride from all the action in Carmen. A little old but well kept. Good sized rooms but some quite a walk away from main reception area with steep slopes in sections. Food presentation and quality excellent & abundant and service impeccable throughout. Good evening entertainment but get there early as limited seating annoying. Recommended but choose room carefully!

Hotel was in a great location backing onto the Sea, Food was Good, and Room wass excellent, only two points of criticism, the Wifi was very unreliable and of an evening there wasn't enough Bar Staff and too long a Queue for a beer, apart from that fully recommend it

Budget Hotel plagued by annoying guests

The \"All Inclusive\" meal and drink promotion attracts a very cost conscious type of guest. We were elbowed out of the food queue by what appeared to be starving people who had never seen a buffet before.
The house wine would have been better served as a vinaigrette for the salad.
If you enjoy fighting for your meals at the trough, then this is the place for you.
Annoying little things like \"we only provide coffee in the room on your first day\" are trivial and leave people feeling cheated.

Almost on the beach.

Arrived midday with my wife by taxi on Sun. Nice roomy reception area, had all my paperwork, etc with me and was looked after by a very efficient, friendly, courteous lady. No problems and was told where our room was, just 1 floor up and not too far from reception or centre of activity, but still pretty quiet. It had, shower, bath, all the usual extras in any hotel bathroom, the bedroom was nicely proportioned with tv, wardrobes, large sliding window to small outside balcony looking out at side street, 2 single beds joined together, plenty of bedclothes, pillows and was of average comfort.Just off bedroom was a smaller room with sofa that could be turned into bed, fridge, kettle and t bags, coffee and sugar. A security safe was also provided which was extra but reasonable. We were very fortunate with wi-fi as it was very good and could use away at no extra cost. Our stay was all-inclusive and couldn't fault anything, paid for nothing and could get whatever we wanted all day long. Breakfast, lunch and dinner had a large array of food and had something for everyone. Ok, maybe it was a tad repetitive but I for one have no complaints, nor had my wife. Pool area was large, plenty of sunbeds and as it was January no problem getting one but if you wanted a particular one you just put a towel down when going to breakfast. May not be allowed, but everyone does it. Fabulous beach just across the road, €12 per day if you wanted 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, the lovely breeze cost nothing.
