The hotel placed us in an attic room while we booked a standard double room. The second morning when we asked for changing room, first we were told no more room, then told us we had to checked out at 10am and rechecked in at the afternoon. Since we had day plans, it made us switch rooms impossible. The attic room was way too low and we (at average heights 5’4 and 5’8) kept bumping heads even blended back all the time during two days staying.

So the other hotels are probably closer to the shopping, but Zermatt is a small city so you can pretty much walk anywhere. Both of our rooms have balconies with views of the Matterhorn. breakfast was included and was a great breakfast. Since there’s no AC, we just opened the door and found a way to prop the ceiling window open in the bathroom (I think we were on the top floor). It created a really nice Crossbreeze and considering that it was getting down into the 40s at night, our room was plenty cold. The staff was super nice and they let my wife charge her phone at the front desk for a couple of hours. Remember that if you were going to Switzerland, you might need a wall adapter for the power. They do not use the same kind as Europe or the USA

Hotel does the job for one night. The shower is strange, you do not receive any amenities and the bed was not very comfortable. The breakfast was good. Our room was right in front of a construction site and was quite loud during the day. They do not provide free transport from the train station as it requires an additional charge. I had a reservation at this hotel but had to cancel because my wife became very ill with food poisoning. I fully understood the reservation was non-refundable, but given the situation, I asked Hotels.com to contact the hotel on my behalf to request a partial refund. To my surprise, the hotel refused to offer any flexibility or even attempt to negotiate, despite the circumstances being beyond our control. Their lack of empathy and unwillingness to work with us was extremely disappointing. Next time I’m in Zermatt, I will definitely not be staying here. Very poor customer service.

The hotel was very clean & convenient that it had a restaurant, bar & breakfast. The rooms had a great terrace that had nice views. One of our party was able to get a fantastic photo of the \"golden horn\" when she happened to wake up at 6am and looked out the window and saw it. We had to make changes to our reservations prior to our visit, the staff was very accommodating and made sure we received confirmation of the change (so much that they called to make sure we saw it), For those wondering about the recent floods, we did not notice anything amiss in the town or hotel. The only issue was having to take a bus for part of the way into Zermatt, but that only provided lovely views, and of course affected the whole town and not just this hotel. No SC but it was not needed during our stay in July.

Awesome hotel only about 200 yards from the town center, so it was convenient. Quiet area too. There is a hill to walk up to the hotel but it didn’t bother anyone in my family. If you’re going skiing it was very convenient to the Sunnegga funicular and the ski rental shop next to it. We loved our room which had a beautiful view of the Matterhorn from the balcony. The whole staff was very friendly. They even had a cool bar/living room off the lobby. And the bowl of oranges in the lobby were absolutely amazing. The breakfast was also very good with tons of options. We want to go back there.

Hotel Holiday was a great place to stay in Zermatt. You can easily walk to anywhere in the town from the hotel. The Gonergrat lift is very close to the hotel, and makes it easy for skiing. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was an excellent way to start the day. It is also nice that the restaurant is open for dinner and that the food is delicious.

Pros: In a good area for skiiers to access the Sunnega Funicular stations and convenient to downtown (10m walk). Decent breakfast (but same each day with no hot foods.)
Cons: they don’t have expectation to supply shampoos, be ready to bring some or go to the market (very strange), our room safe batteries died during our stay and they didn’t service, they don’t have expectation to vacuum the room while cleaning… we stayed a week and had to request vacuuming… no coffee machine, water machine or tea provided in room. Covid practices of restaurant staff not particularly consistent when comes to wearing of masks…
Cons: they don’t have expectation to supply shampoos, be ready to bring some or go to the market (very strange), our room safe batteries died during our stay and they didn’t service, they don’t have expectation to vacuum the room while cleaning… we stayed a week and had to request vacuuming… no coffee machine, water machine or tea provided in room. Covid practices of restaurant staff not particularly consistent when comes to wearing of masks…

We enjoyed our stay in the beautiful Swiss Alps. Oliver, at the front desk, answered all our questions. He recommended places to eat and things to do. He was very hospitable. He got us checked in a little early and made our stay enjoyable. Roberto waited on us in their restaurant. He was a gracious host and even packed us breakfast since we left early one morning to catch the cable car to Glacier Paradise. We would recommend this quaint hotel and their staff. The room was as advertised. It's not in a very popular location, but within 10 minutes walking distance from the train station. I like how the hotel offers pick up from the train station for those who have heavy suitcases. It's only 5 CHF per person per ride. That's not bad. The location is close to restaurants that are rated well and not too expensive (for Switzerland standards). I would highly recommend this place.

Excellent option in Zermatt. TV cable only for locals (German language 99%). Very gentle people at the front desk. Two sisters alternate shifts. Before they welcomed me upon arrival, I was asked to pay fully in advance rate and local taxes. Room very clean and cozy. Breakfast was very good, though they direct you to certain tables - no free choice. Be cautious of being placed near the desk because you will enjoy having breakast with full of a heavy rock noisy kitchen -mainly silver and kitchenware being dropped once washed out. Taking all in all, very good and I acknowledge the staff and the Hotel Holiday as a one of the best options.

Overall very good experience, hotel is nicer in real life versus the photos. The staff are nice enough, definitely have had better service elsewhere however. Only thing to keep in mind is the hotel is up a bit of a steep hill, and while it may be only 600m from the train station, carrying your luggage up it is a pain, would recommend getting a taxi.

The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and spoke English. Communication was easy. The room and hotel in general were very clean. The neighborhood was quiet (we slept with the window opened and didn't hear a lot of partying or noise. The hotel is located away from the central commercial core which is only a short walk away. The internet connection was very good. I couldn't find a link to stream the Seahawk game, so my daughter and son in law facetimed it to me. The food was good. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and highly recommended it for the value.
