It was ok the people in the room next me was loud and every time they left the room would bang their door didnt matter it was 4am it wasn't my first choice of hotel i mite stay there again i will see the owner was very friendly tho he never wanted to see my id when i got there he said he knew me

worst property I have ever stayed at. Looked like it was cloudy outside because the windows are so dirty. floor was filthy. Walls were filthy. old stained ripped chair in room. Mattresses were horrible. One available outlet that was hooked up to a power bar that did not work if more than one plug being used. Vent scotch taped to wall. Other bits of old tape on wall. Shower was black with mould around the edges. Overall, absolutely gross. Booked for two nights. Left after one night and had to pay for another hotel.

Close to King’s Cross, was ok just a bit dated

Check in was easy, friendly staff and let us into our room early. The rooms are very dated could do with updating the beds and decor. The bathroom was nice and good shower. Close to King’s Cross which is what we wanted. It is what it is a budget option hotel but fine to get your head down for a night.

The staff member was rude and because he barely spoke any English it was like talking to a brick wall and it took me about twenty minutes to be able to check in.The bedroom sink had a crack in it and the wardrobe only had one hanger in it.The mattress was only quite thin too.

Staff wanted me to check out at 10:30 AM when the reservation states that check out was at 11:00 AM. The water in the showers wasn’t hot, just a bit warm. Wouldn’t recommend this hostel in the winter.

This was an interesting experience...
To be fair we just needed somewhere to lay our head ready for an early train journey in the morning so wasnt expecting alot but like something from a comedy sketch it didnt even meet the low expectations we already had.
There are several rooms on each floor all of which share a bathroom and toilet. There are public toilets cleaner than the room we stayed in. Our double room consisted of 2 single metal creaky beds one of which was held together with jubilee clips. The walls had been poorly patched up and grime and dirty around the ceiling and window. The spare pillow was yellow and there were what looked like blood stains on one of the bed sheets. Walls are paper thin and you can everyone and everything throughout the creaky floored building. Would i stay here again? No and nor would I recommend anyone else to stay here either.

It was bad, even for £50 stay somewhere else.

I have stayed in quite a few hotels in this price bracket given I have a 2.5hr commute so I’m not expecting great things, but a welcome, a comfy clean bed is all I need.
I got neither. Ringing on the door, told we’re full, had to persuade them I actually had a booking then the bed must have been 90yrs old it was hideous.
I won’t be staying there again.

The property was NOT what was portrayed! It had mice entering room from under door, filthy, sticky carpet that hadn't been vacuumed in who-knows-how-long, thick dust on the furniture, moldy shower in the shared bathroom with a toilet that didn't flush. We were moved early on in our stay from one room to another. Noisy smokers in the room next door. No continental breakfast, as was advertised as included in the cost of the room....ended up leaving the hotel about a third of the way through the stay and finding another place to stay!!! EXPEDIA - both you AND the ALBANY HOTEL should be ashamed of yourselves!! Such false advertising! Expedia should NOT be promoting this place!

Roof of the property was leaking and shower did not work, so I could not bathe. The hotel was very noisy, other lodgers were making noise and saying lots of F- words. Especially the next room to the room i stayed. They kept on banging their doors. It was a terrible experience!

Staying at Albany Hotel was one the worst experience of my life. We were 2 friends and we took twin room. Beds were very uncomfortable (even one bed broken first night of our stay) and room was very very smelly. Out of 4 shared bathrooms 2 were not working. Showers and flushes were in very bad condition. As I booked this rubbish hotel so I was very embarrassed in front of my friend. Just not to accept any responsibility hotel owner was introducing himself as temporary manager. I already complained hotel.com about it. So everyone please stay away from this piece of rubbish.

Bed bugs/fleas found in the bedding and pillows. In-room washbasin cracked and had no plughole. No reception window there anymore. Clean sheets showing up outside bedroom door probably because management knows about the fleas, etc. Shower on same floor as the room, not working. Old sign on the door shows good percent of food hygiene if no longer does the hotel offer a proper breakfast. I would not recommend Expedia to have this hotel on your list.

Get what you pay for

Based on price would recommend for students/young professionals looking for a place to put there head down for short period.
Stayed here while visiting friends so just used it to sleep for a few hours and shower.
Beds are narrow but clean and comfortable.
Rooms spacious enough by London standards and reasonably priced
Shared bathrooms could do with more thorough cleaning and more frequent replacement of hand towels in bathrooms.
One of the shower temperature control was very dodgy.
Overall it is a good location & reasonable price (get what you paid for)

Biggest complaint has to be the staff member I dealt with was very abrupt... I genuinely felt like an inconvenience to him at check in and check out.

Confusion on arrival - booked online, two single rooms for two nights. Proprietor not expecting this, we had a double (two single beds) each. Proprietor expressed a certain amount of irritation while he checked this. If hotels use online booking through a website it really is their responsibility to make sure their bookings are clear. Showers were temperamental, wi-fi ditto. Sink taps in room either not well fitted. Otherwise a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Good base for an active trip

Very much a 2 star hotel, get what you pay for. Bit run down, but very clean, comfortable enough. Shared bathrooms were expected and worked fine. No £20 fee on arrival because we checked in during the stated hours (2 to 11). Owner wasn't talkative but greeted us promptly and explained all we needed to know. 25 min walk to the theatre district was perfect for us, and some good local cafes for breakfast - although the snacks in the room were also appreciated! Would use again because noone comes to London to spend time in their hotel do they?

There is a nice coffee shop nearby for breakfast.
My only complaint was that you couldn't adjust the radiator and my room was very hot and stuffy but I opened the window to air it out, which helped

A good location for the price and the room unexpectedly large and comfortable. However major drawback is no reception desk, when I got there other fellow guests were waiting outside for someone to come and let us in. Same at checkout (no breakfast included) and just a key drop box so couldn't leave my case for collection later. The wifi connection was good but on top floor the water pressure less good.

Albany is a budget hotel, so don't be expecting the Ritz. But it is clean, comfortable and within a 5 minute walk of Euston. The little free \"mini-bar\" is a nice touch. Hotel staff were inobtrusive and polite.

The room was tiny and cramped, no breakfast service, slow wifi, beds were uncomfortable, staff did not give the impression of being friendly, and a previous guests underwear was found in our room.

The bonus of the location was the closeness to a tube station and the close location to the main Euston railway station.

Unhappy man who seemed to be in charge, led us down narrow stairs to a basement converted to a bedroom.
Was reasonably clean, but with plug sockets hanging off wall near to shower door.
People stomping along passage at front door over our room, noisy. (Unhappty man had asked us to close our door quietly so as not to disturb him, Ha Ha)
Could not open curtains because no net curtains , as if you did , every passer by would be looking in at you from above on the pavement.
Luckily only overnight stop, then glad to leave.

Far from clean.

Friendly staff, dirty hotel. There was a pair of somebody’s discarded underpants on the threadbare carpet at the foot of the wash basin in my room. Yuck! The shower in the shared bathroom had a layer of orange-stained limescale on it that I was able to scratch off with my nail. Apart from that, it felt like I was staying in somebody’s grandmother’s house. Old carpets, creaky floorboards and doors that don’t quite fit.

Great location, easy to find and a good base. The guy checking in didn't seem to know much English so wasn't as quick and easy as it should have been. The decor was very dated and wear and tear (furniture marks on the wall, worn carpet around the sink but bed was clean and comfortable for a few nights. Not the quietest, the doors stuck so had to give a good shove to open and close so could hear people coming and going (and going to the loo in the night).
What you would expect for the price really, if you just need a bed while exploring the city then I would recommend it if you get it at a good price. If you want a few more home comforts or a light sleeper then probably not for you.

Tired hotel in a good location

We booked this because it was a reasonable price for a central location that fitted our needs as just somewhere to sleep after a night out. It is very very tired and dated in all aspects - the decoration, the furniture, the creaky floors and bathrooms that have seen far better days. On the plus side the beds were clean and reasonably comfy (although a slight slope to the floor meant you felt like you were about to fall out). There are several bathrooms so access to the loo & shower was OK. Shower was just about OK but water temparature wildly variable. It was very hot in the room even in sub-zero temperature we had the window wide open and didn't use the covers. There is no breakfast - you get a bag of crisps and a capri sun.... there is a kettle and tea/coffee provided.
Overall I wouldn't recommend but it served its purpose and was clean.

Scruffy, grubby hotel.

I stupidly booked this hotel without reading the other bad reviews, assuming it would be alright because it was near other hotels I've stayed in. It also advertised breakfast.

Unfortunately it was not very clean, smelt bad and breakfast had been replaced by a packet of crisps and a mint chocolate in a basked in the room! The member of staff who greeted me was also scruffy and grubby.

The sheets were clean but the rest of the bedding looked as though it hadn't been washed in years. The shower was clean and hot; there was a kettle and tea etc and the TV worked but was at such a weird angle, I could only watch it lying down!

It wasn't good value for money either. At £83 a night, I expected a better standard and a proper breakfast!

The ad said 'breakfast included'. Breakfast was a bag of crisps, a biscuit and a carton of orange. The kettle worked by some miracle so it was possible to make a cup of tea, but the sockets had fallen off the wall. The bedside light didn't work and I wasn't brave enough to investigate.

Hotel has good location. The room and shared bathroom weren't clean. There was a small basket of snacks in the room which was in place of breakfast. Saw a staff member on check in and then didn't see anyone again for 3 days. Had to leave a note for clean coffee cups and creamers that weren't off. Wouldn't stay here again.

My room was a demonstration of how to sleep 3 and accommodate none. The room was completely full with a single and double bed. There was a very narrow gap between the bottom of the double bed and the side of the single bed. It was just sufficient to squeeze down to the side of the washbasin at the foot of the single bed. This had to be used from the side. It was not possble to stand in front.
Breakfast had been replaced by a \"snack bar\" in the room. THis was not even mentioned at check in. THere was just a notice behind the door. This provided a packet of crisps and a sachet of reconstituted orange juice plus a chococate and some biscuits for coffee. However supplies of coffee and milk were not replenished. The room was not serviced properly. The bed was never made. The bin was emptied once in 3 days. Notwithstanding these glaring faults my essential needs were met. The WiFi was reliable and fast. The room was clean. I wasn't bothered about breakfast personally but coffee would have been welcome. I do object to the failure to provide an advertised service. I was able to leave my luggage, which was very welcome. This facility was listed but my request was met with some surprise. My impression is that the man at \"reception\" (a misnomer if ever there was one) didn't really understand what even cheap hotels normally provide as routine. He had little English and no sign of a smile at all!

We did arrive late as we had indicated ahead of time. WEe were given a postage stamp sized room into which 3 beds were crammed. The person on on duty could barely speak English and hardly knew what he was doing to accept our payment by credit card. The door would not stay locked, so we had to prop a suitcase against it to keep it closed. Needless to say we were disappointed in the facility.

Excellent location, good public transport links, walking distance of King's Cross and the British Museum.
Typical Georgian building for that part of London. Very reasonable price. Clean but the decor is tired, no air conditioning. Absolutely fine for a short stay, but if you have problems with stairs, ask for a ground floor room.

Get what you pay for. Next time I'm stopping at the YHA when I'm at a concert. Smelt funny room was small and uncomfortable and like a sweat box . Key didn't work in the door to the hotel and breakfast was extremely poor. Good thing the area had a good choice of cafe's and eateries. Would stay in the area again but not this hotel. Holes in carpets smell of smoke and the showers were rubbish

the hotel is run down, the room was gross. my bed had hair on the sheets when I first turned down the blanket. the room was cold at night and know way to turn on heat. The tap in the room sink need to be repaired. the other rooms on the floor where heavy smokers and all you could smell was smoke. the shared bathroom was in need of major repair. We never had the breakfast as we didn't trust the place

Room was very small and cramped, bed was noisy; but the worst was freezing cold with no central heating and it was bitter cold!! Hot water did not work always. beds were not made and wifi was on and off! No refills of coffee/tea, milk etc. Not very hygienic.
No cooked breakfast! At least a couple of eggs - corn flakes and toasts barely make up an English breakfast especially for us Brits!
Wardrobe too big for such a small room and TWO chairs left hardly any room for guests!
(No photos taken! Not worth showing to family & friends. Even the breakfast room was cramped.
£165.00 for two nights - not worth the bother - will not be going there again.

There was no regular cleaning of my room After 4 days I had to ask for clean towels and to have my trash removed.

Not much to recommend this hotel, except central location. Main problem is the thin walls which do not insulate at all. Especially frustrating at night when doors automatically slam shut.

Forvent ikke luksus- derimod seng og håndvask på værelset - badeværelse og toilet på gangen - dog rent, må jeg tilføje

Ligger godt i forhold til undergrunden - gode pubs og altid steder, du kan få lidt at spise
