Very modern hotel, spotlessly clean. Some clever tech. Builds for the hotel, at park was small, can’t change that, but lift wasn’t built yet so had to walk heavy luggage into front of hotel. We did pre check in on phone, didn’t state needed expiry date from passport yet when went into lobby had to re check and enter so wasn’t quick. Had to load a key card pay tax on arrival. So wasn’t quick at all. Room really nice. However why put a sink in the bedroom next to a shower. When you use the toilet, you can’t wash your hands until you open the toilet door (bad design and not very hygienic) App was ok, but had to keep entering the key code which was frustrating. Asked for robes twice, said the service was completed yet still never arrived. Don’t get me wrong, beautiful hotel, stunning roof too bar (most expensive drinks we found on the island) . Staff really friendly. Maintenance fixed the fridge in room very quickly.

Breakfast was delicious, however, they need felt on the bottom of the chairs. Room was very dark and lacked drawers for tourists staying a week. Nice location to the harbor, shopping and dining options. The rooftop bar had great music and drinks. The view from our ocean front room was fabulous. I can’t state more strongly the lighting at the property is very low. We used the gym but it lacked a Smith Machine which was disappointing since they have the room.

The reception team are excellent! Really friendly and helpful.
Situated Within walking distance to the centre of town and with lots of excellent restaurants around the area.
It would’ve been nice if our coffee & tea was replenished everyday without been charged, I think that is part of the service in my opinion. The alcohol prices at the top bar are astronomical and there’s no prices available so when we got the bill were shocked by it.
All in all a good experience

Just back from a week staying at Next Savoy Signature. We booked a studio room with sea view and were not disappointed. The room was large & bed very comfortable. It had a large balcony overlooking the pool & sea. Staff all very friendly & helpful. Breakfast buffet was amazing, huge choice of hot & cold food. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant by the pool, food & staff there were excellent also. I would highly recommend & would stay there again if returning to Madeira.

Good quality price ratio

The room was clean, we had great service for the time we were there. The only negative point was the smell in hallway during the day. It smelled like sewer those Times but when we entered the room it was ok. We had a room in the second building next to the pool with a kitchen Which was useful and well equiped. The location is perfect, not too close but not too far from the city, a 15-20 minutes walk.

Good hotel with great location, lacking in service

The hotel is ideally located and short walk to the town and local restaurants. The pools are great with beach/sea access. We did find it disappointing that on several occasions when trying to get a sun lounger, it was impossible due to people taking them for the full day. Service was very hit and miss with waits at the bar as well as reception for any assistance. We had been promised a welcome drink due to a sepcial occasion which never arised, even when we asked about it. Overall, service levels can certainly be improved.

Amazing hotel, shame about the staff

Stunning hotel, very comfortable and quiet room with a beautiful view of the sea. Lovely pool, gym and sauna. Great location, 25 mins walk to the old town and 5 mins to some lovely bars and restaurants. The only let down was the staff really…they were the least friendly we came across in Madeira. We were not impressed with the service fee that was automatically added to every bill considering the poor level of service. The friendliest member of staff we came across was the guy that was on reception when we checked out at 3am!
Also the drinks weren’t very nice and were very expensive.

**Unacceptable Experience with Ant Infestation and Staff Attitude**

I recently stayed at the Next Savoy Hotel and was deeply disappointed by the experience. Over the course of three days, I repeatedly informed the hotel staff about an ant infestation in my room. Ants were crawling on the bed, floor, kitchen table, and kitchen area. Despite notifying them multiple times, the response I received was shockingly dismissive. One staff member openly admitted, \"We get this complaint a lot, I’ll be honest there’s nothing we can do but clean your room again.\" This is unacceptable—repeated cleaning without addressing the root of the problem does not resolve the issue.

To make matters worse, another staff member implied that we also have ants in our home. This insinuation was both offensive and unprofessional. As paying guests, we expect a clean and comfortable environment, not judgment or excuses.

At a Marriott or Hyatt property we would atleast be offered a new room.

recently stayed at this hotel and appreciated its excellent location—very convenient to nearby restaurants, shopping areas, and key attractions. However, I was disappointed by the overall atmosphere. The staff did not come across as warm or welcoming, which affected the overall experience. Additionally, the pool appeared green, likely due to the yellow tiling, which was a bit off-putting. While the convenience of the location was a definite plus, the hospitality and maintenance could use improvement.

This hotel ended up being such a shame as my girlfriend and I were so excited to go after seeing lovely pictures online. What we found there was not anywhere near as nice as advertised.

The rooms were not cleaned properly and the kitchen area was incredibly dated. The main issue was that the air conditioning was awful which meant that I spent most nights sleeping on the sofa as it was the only area of the room which was not too hot to sleep. I complained to hotel management about this multiple times who did not resolve the issue. The lack of sleep seriously impacted our holiday.

I don't have a bad word to say! About 20mins drive from the airport costing about 40euros in a taxi. The hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere. Excellent high quality food choices for reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and polite. Facilities were excellent. Plenty of sunbed arounds the pool with an adults only section on the 11th floor with amazing panoramic views. We were abit hesitant about the access to the sea area as its not a 'traditional beach' but the sea was so clear and non polluted also life gaurd warning flags in action. Approx 20min walk into Funchal city. 2mins up the hill from the hotel plenty of bars and restaurants serving variety of excellent food. Will definitely be staying here again and will recommended!

The hotel is a little bland in design but the room was a good size. Breakfast was ok. The pool is a nice touch and the food in the restaurant by the pool was really good. Was nice to use the steam and sauna after a long hike. There isn’t loads of parking but we never had a trouble parking. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for 5 nights but we definitely could have stayed longer! We stayed in the Ocean Suite which was more like a small apartment with a small kitchen and lounge/ dining area. We also had an incredible view of the ocean! The walk into Funchal was around 15 minutes but there are restaurants and pubs nearby which are easy to get to. The hotel is on a steep hill, so bare this in mind when booking!

The hotel itself was lovely. There are 2 pools, one with a bigger restaurant and more sun loungers. This also had its own pier so you could swim in the sea. The other is a rooftop pool with a bar and sushi restaurant (we had the sushi and can confirm, it is 10/10) with more incredible views of the sea. We would DEFINITELY stay again and highly recommend!!!

The NEXT hotel is sleek, clean and walkable into Funchal. The vistas from the room are gorgeous and I love that you can also access the amenities at the Royal Savory from the hotel, as well.

The only thing that would make me not want to stay there is the bathroom privacy- there basically is none, just a clouded glass door that is so see through that you can see the color of people's skin and movement. This is both for the toilet room and the shower room. We actually took turns staying on the deck while others were in the shower to give them privacy. It was annoying. There was no place to hang a towel so afterwards, you had to walk out all wet and it just wasn't comfortable.

Nice hotel but stale air in the room

Nice location, good gym and pools.

For some reason my room had strange (bad) smell. I tried to get rid of it by keeping the balcony door open during the nights but still there remained some smell the whole visit (four nights).

I tried to change the room, but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked.

Really lovely hotel, conveniently located for an easy walk into the centre of Funchal. Staff were all very lovely. My only negative point was that unknown to us, we arrived when the carnival was on, and had difficulty both finding and the accessing the hotel due to road closures. After a long day of travelling and trying to navigate the roads at night in a hire car, we went round in circles trying to reach our hotel. After trying to phone the hotel for advice, no one answered our call. Eventually we managed to find a blocked road, that said access only and got to it. Answering the phone or an email to explain how to get there on carnival night might have saved a lot of first night stress. Overall though, we had a lovely stay, and reception even rang down to the kitchen to ask if we could get a meal late at night on arrival day. We would definitely stay there again.

Enjoyable stay.

The hotel is very good overall. The 'space age' theme is a little strange - particularly the graphics in the lifts and the bedrooms are minimalist up to the point of ‘operating theatre chic’ - too basic for a 4* hotel. No enclosed wardrobes. The room lights are overcomplicated with one part of an unlabelled bedside double switch turning on the bedside reading light on - the other turning all the lights off! Not good if your partner is in the bathroom. The room we had wasn't classed as sea view but we did have a rather lovely sea view over an old church (room 520). The rooms have a kettle but no tea or coffee - a bit stingy at this price point.
The breakfast was very good with a wide choice of cooked items and fresh fruits, yoghurts etc. All very clean and well-tended by the cooks. The breakfast room however is very dark and dingy when it's cloudy outside.
The rooftop pool and the seaside pools are beautiful although the latter does have a mosquito problem at dusk.

Although on the whole the stay was good our Room was really warm on a night it appeared the Climate Control wasn’t working and my friends said the same about their rooms also this needs dealing with and the Complimentary Water in the Room was not replenished during the stay also there were no Tea or Coffee in the rooms just needs a bit more attention to detail and finally although Mosquitos are not the Hotels fault around the restaurant Bar area there were clouds of them and we all got a lot of bites so maybe they could spray something to keep them down around that area I’ve been abroad for many many years on holiday and I’ve never ever been bitten like that

Things that didn’t hit the mark: very strange space shuttle themed elevators and an unexpected lack of care about the guest experience. No extra mile here. For example, while our room had a coffee machine, the hotel wouldn’t provide fresh pods for it each day. They explained that you have to pay for pods after the first day. I’ve never encountered such a bizarre policy at a hotel. One day, we pressed the point in our nicest Canadian, “sorry, sorry, sorry but the listing expressly says the nespresso machine is included” kind of way. The concierge rolled her eyes at us and said “fine.” Later we found some ancient, crumbly instant Nescafé packets tossed into the room. It was so passive aggressive it was almost funny.

Brilliant hotel with amazing pools

We had a brilliant stay at the Next Hotel. It actually went beyond my expectations and we loved the 2 amazing pools, having direct access into the sea for snorkelling, the bars, the DJs and the staff. I would say the staff especially were absolutely brilliant. We would definitely book again and wished that were a bit gutted to leave. If we were booking again I'd book an extra couple of days just to be able to enjoy the hotel for a bit longer! Thanks for such a brilliant end to our holiday
