Rodeway Inn was a reasonable rate. It was clean and certainly served me for my stay. The staff was kind and accommodating. The proprietor allowed early check in for me, as it available on that day. I was disappointed that the pool was closed (contrary to Expedia’s description) but there was a tidy microwave and fridge in the room, with Nescafé coffee available in the lobby at all times. If all you require is basic, this is good place with friendly service.

Pleasant surprise

We booked this hotel due to its close proximity to the fairgrounds. After reading some of the bad reviews a few days ago, I almost cancelled our reservation. I’m glad we did not. This a no-frills hotel, which we knew when we booked. Check-in was fast and staff are pleasant. The hotel is going through renovations, and our room was one that has been updated. It was clean, the mattress appeared newer, and the bathroom had a new sink. A huge TV and a fridge and microwave were in the room, as well as plenty of storage. Although this hotel doesn’t offer breakfast, we were each given a goodie bag upon check-in that included a bottle of water, apple juice, yogurt, an apple and orange, and a breakfast bar. That was a very nice, unexpected touch. The only downside, which wasn’t even a huge inconvenience, was that we arrived home late and the parking lot was full, so we parked across the street. Nice stay at a decent price.

I think they are trying to update the property but it has a long way to go. The room is better then you think it could be by looks of the outside and lobby. There is newer floor whebut they carpet is cover the other half of the room and feels as though they placed it over random chucks of rock. The carpet feels wet to your feet and leaves your feet black if you mistakenly choose to walk barefoytside

Booked a stay there due to the pool they had promoted on their website. When we arrived a week later, the pool was in the middle of being renovated. Checked their website that night, there was no mention of the pool being temporarily closed whatsoever.
They update their prices daily but don’t bother to let customers know that one of the big reasons some people use hotels for is not available.

The person behind the counter didn’t care about a discounted rate and seen very upset and annoyed. I explained to him that my wife booked my room online under my name he acted is if he couldn’t see it and made me book a room from the expedia.com website. I told him it my wife already booked the room in which I gave him the confirmation number. He then inconvenienced me to the point that he made my wife email her drivers license and credit card information. Long story short this was by far the worst hotel stay from hell.

Just ok

The main reason I chose this hotel was because of the pool... well it was closed. I asked why it still shows on their website and they said they haven't had time to change it. The people at the front desk also looked like they had just woken up at all times of day. The rooms were ok, the bathroom door hit the toilet so you couldn't even open the door all the way. Under the bed I found a bottle of body armor that the previous guest drank. Best part of the stay was how comfortable the bed was.

Don’t stay here

Upon coming in to check in I waited to be helped. I noticed the sign on the glass stating to let them know if you have a pet. As the man checked me in he kept saying don’t smoke in the room. If he hadnt been busy being judgemental and rude he would’ve heard me tell him I had pets. I came back later on with my dog I was in the room no more than 5 mins and the phone rang he was yelling at me about my dog. I told him i told him and it was a pet friendly place it had said. He charged me for 15$ Pet fee I gave him 20 and he didn’t give me change. My boyfriend got there and asked what the issues was and if we could wr least get our money back. The guy started yelling at Us, no refund! He called the police on us and tried to get a no trespassing on us. We didn’t stay and would like our money back !

Going the Extra Mile

My wife likes to use two towels. The second one is for her hair after showering. I asked for one and they gave us two.
There was a question on whether we were spending one
night or two. We gave them our confirmation number.
While still looking for our receipt, they had continued to check on everything and came up with the information they needed and let us know in faster time than we used in locating our receipt.
The staff were all friendly and helpful when needed.
We found our room and the lobby to be quite clean.
Remodeling was going on outside, so we found
that to be a good sign. The Inn with its new face should
be quite attractive.

Satisfied but not Delighted

While we were looking for an inexpensive place to stay, we were a little disappointed with this location. When we arrived we found out that the pool was shut down.We also found out there was no breakfast. (This was noted on the website, but the information about the pool was not.) There was a lot of remodeling going on so the place was not very neat. The exterior door did not have security working on it. The bottom of the tub appeared to be cracked. The inside ofr the bathroom door needed repairs. The location was sort of in a business area, not the best part of town. We were out and about town all during the days and just returned to sleep at the hotel so it served it's purpose.

Our room was wonderful. We were upgraded to a 2 bed queen room at no charge, beds were great, room was spacious.

We were very disappointed to find out that neither the pool or hot tub were operational.

A continental breakfast was advertised, and the picture displayed a cozy breakfast room and ample choices for breakfast. However, there was nothing available except for a chocolate waffle mix with chocolate chips. My husband made one, but determined that it had been made up quite some time ago, and was inedible. Everything else was completely empty - the mini cooler that showed hard boiled eggs and yogurts: nothing. The doughnut and muffin case was empty, the fruit bowl was empty, the hot table cases were empty. The food had not been eaten by earlier guests and not refilled, it was nonexistent. There was an old loaf of bread, but the toaster was non-operational until I moved it to another outlet - but the bread was so dried out that we didn't bother. Another guest said the motel had been the same for him with another previous stay at this location.

Never again!

The room seemed dark and damp, with a strong odor of AirWick throughout. When we asked for a different room, the manager said none was available. We asked him to open the windows to air out the room, and he mentioned there were no screens to keep mosquitos out. Loud argument around 4:00 a.m. in hall, people screaming \"f\" word at each other. Next morning at breakfast, no coffee or orange juice until we asked and manager made coffee; never any juice. The last straw was when we found a large empty vodka bottle and child's toy along with the dust under the bed when we were checking to make sure we'd not left anything. TV remote didn't work, so it was impossible to switch channels - I suspect they hadn't changed the batteries in a while. (Not that one would want to spend much time in the room). All in all, very poorly maintained.

No complaints. Room was clean and comfy, AC was good, bed fine. Pretty quiet. The parking lot is a mess, because there is construction work going on in front of the entrance. New concrete paving and such. Cars were jammed in, and it was difficult getting in and out. A few guests had to park across the street in a vacant lot. But the workers doing the lot were courteous, and worked late, so were trying to get it done in a short time.
