Oh my where do I begin? So, the propery is worn and dirty. The room appeared clean, but I felt uneasy staying there. The hallways and lobby areas smelled. I really felt unsafe with what appeared to be drug deals and prositution going on around the property. There was one occasion where someone was sitting on the stairs as if a look out for his friend that may have been up to no good. The property would do well to hire security to account for the undesirable element roaming around the property. There are areas listed as fire exits where people were letting random people into the hotel. Property also states that bikes are not to be in the hallway areas and yet there were people riding bikes and scooters in the hallways.

This was the worse place I have ever stayed at in my life. I travel the country and it was the only thing available last minute, I figured it wouldn’t be tooo bad. I was wrong, oh so wrong. Not only did it smell like stale cigarettes and marijuana even though every door says no smoking, it smelled like animal urine so bad I had to tell the front desk and they didn’t help. So I went to dollar tree and bought a bunch of scented air fresheners and when that didn’t help I bought vanilla perfume to help mask it. There were no other options in. 50 miles radius to go to and I was stuck. I was alone, sketchy people hanging out outside the doors at all hours of the night. People were living there. I felt very unsafe, and I’m not usually one to say that. I kept video documentation of my room, the stains, the ripped off lock, the poor condition. It was all cement blocks and like a prison. It just was awful, when I say bad. I mean gross bad.

Very Disappointed with Stay

While traveling out of state, i decided stay at grand inn for the night & continue in the morning.

I previously stayed at this location & found it to be clean with a friendly atmosphere & nice amenities & breakfast, it has & since been rebranded as the grand inn & the quality & comfort has fallen greatly.

There was a “problem” with my reservation & I was upgraded to a suite, although pleasantly surprised, the hotel is now very run down, the hallways & carpets appear unkept & dirty, there was people in the lobby that appeared very disheveled & even homeless.

The room was also dirty & appeared to have minimal upkeep, the door had no security chain & took several trues to fully & securely shut, during during renovation (I suspect) the paint around the door was done very poorly & I used clorox wipes the wipe down the room, the comforter on the bed did appear clean, but I was unsure if it had been changed & slept on top of it & there was no extra blanket like there had been on previous stays.

I was told at check in breakfast time, however it had or appeared to close early & truthfully Im not sure I would trust the cleanliness.
Very disappointed & will not stay here again.
DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE.

both the sink and bathtub did not drain properly-the bathtub took more than an hour. Maybe the maintenance team could go to each motel room and \"snake\" them, be proactive. There was no internet-my laptop stated \"secure connection, no internet\". No breakfast offered. There was a male taking pictures with his smartphone of people coming and going inside. Why? I was thankful for the plastic cups at the sink, as I was thirsty and wanted to drink a cup of water. No refrigerator in room. There is a light switch on the wall, I thought it turned on lights inside the dark room, but no, the light switch goes up and turns on heater, and down-turns on a/c. That's why I couldn't get the a/c to work. I had to get someone from the front desk to help. Perhaps a small note on the wall could help educate customers as to purpose of light switch. Base cove molding that goes around the base of the walls is falling off in room.

The hotel smells like insecticide and smoke. Very unsafe hotel as hotel were open all night. Police there many times over the noght and early morning. No toiletries provided except little bar soap.
Mold in the shower. The bed cover and bed skirt was full of food and other things. It was basically a $25 a night hotel, charged for 10 times that amount. Do not recommend. Sleep in a ditch instead.

Make sure you bring slippers or keep your footwear on, as we see gum stuck on the carpet. It feels sticky like there was a good party previously. No chain lock on door, no toilet paper roll holder, ac is good, lots of stained ceiling tiles, bathroom shower tiles need recaulking. It was just a place to sleep.

The service was fine and the location was good. While we had a non- smoking room, the smell of smoke in the hallway hit you like a wall when you left your room. The room was very dimly lit, one if the lightbulbs over the sink was burnt out, the toilet paper holder would not hold the roll and it kept falling onto the floor. The bath mat towel was thread-bare in several places, the floor of the bath tub was darkly marked where there used to be non-slip stickies on it and had been removed, the shower curtain was stained a badly wrinkled and the finish on the bathtub had been nicked and was rusted. The shower knob got stuck on we and had to get help from the person at the desk. You couldn't hear people in the other rooms but if someone was outside talking you could hear them well in your room.

We don't expect much for the price we pay for a room to sleep in but a nicely kept room in good repair isn't too much to ask, I don't think.

Phew, this is a trip. The first impression it's cheap and has a lingering stench upon entering the property. There was no one at the front desk to check in as they were also the cleaning staff so if you want to check in/out you'll have to wait until someone comes to the desk.

The room was dirty and cold, it looked like it wasn't kept up and the bathroom area was dirty. All plugs were unplugged and we had to replug them in while the room was misrepresented as there was no microwave or fridge in the room so we had to request it. There's a suspicious switch in the room which was advised afterwards it controlled the AC and heat later on. The room didn't contain a alarm clock and the TV remote was broken so we requested a replacement, the remote we got worked somewhat (only in a certain spot in the room).

They don't have breakfast, which was advertised before we booked the room and somehow was removed from the details before check in. The staff confirmed they had breakfast but was recently removed due to how cheap the hotel was. Based in the smell above it was throughout the hotel and even within the room. They had multiple fans going to contain and even had some wall mounted air fresheners which didn't help.

They requested ID even though it was confirmed online and kept a printed copy of said ID on the front desk in a file, it was not locked away. It was given to us upon request. The room was badly painted, some outlets looked painted over.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever seen. The front office staff had me disable the smoke detector as they couldn’t figure out why it was chirping. The room smelled awful like something died recently there. The ac unit in the room didn’t function. The door lock wasn’t fully functioning. One of the two beds in the room was broken. I didn’t feel safe there and opted to leave after a half an hour.

Sadly my bicycle was stolen off my car despite having two locks. Staff were upset but acknowledged they'd had prior issues with stolen items in their parking lot but did not have signs or indicate there were issues. Security cameras had no effective coverage of motion so were not of assistance in providing any information. They were responsive to my inquiry and shared two photos but not of any use to help recover my bike.

Best advice is leave nothing of value in your car at this lodging

Drug addicts everywhere! They are outside everywhere just hanging around like a dealer lives here. This is by far the most unsafe place that I almost stayed in. 15 minutes here is all you need to understand how bad it is. Groups of grown men staring down families. People prowling cars in the parking lot. Do not stay here if you value your safety.

It’s definitely older and run down. I thought my experience would be worse but it wasn’t too bad. As a female traveler and avid consumer of true crime I’m always conscious of my surroundings/safety. I thought I might be in a murder room and actually slept with a knife. The desk clerk was funny, my room was fairly clean, I checked for bedbugs and the mattress looked new, the bathroom wasn’t my favorite but it never really is. The hotel was actually pretty quiet all night. I might not do it again if I can help it but if you’re in a pinch like I was you’ll survive.

The lobby did not have a fresh scent. The A/C was broken and I reported twice and it did not get fixed/replaced until our last night there (we had a 4 night stay). They told us they had to put us up in a suite because nothing else was available and for me to check with him around 2:00 pm so thinking I was having to move rooms I packed all my belongings and was ready to move when asked. Then he said never mind they are keeping me in the same room. People outside hanging out on premises and random cars pulling them leaving. Never had house keeping. Not for fresh towels, take out the garbage, only had soap was given, no other toiletries. Side entry to building was propped open with a wedge so anyone off the street could walk in.

This place is a dump no exaggeration.The whole building smelled like cigarette smoke and body odor. Drug addicts staying there walking around tweaking. My room was disgusting- filthy carpets, dirty walls, uncleaned toilet, exposed outlets, missing light bulb, multiple holes gaugd in the ceiling. I am pretty sure there was mold on the ceiling. A clean white sheet was placed over a dirty fitted sheet. The one sheet and the towels were the only things that were clean in the the room they gave me. I could go on but there is no need. Needless to say I did not stay the the two days that I paid for.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, but there is a reason why the price is low. The rooms are very dated and there are odd smells in the hallway, but the room was on the clean side. The A/C barely worked but it was May, but it did drown out any noise - we had 2 very guiet sleeps. It is conveniently located to everything. They do supply fresh coffee and a microwave up front, as well as an ice machine that is closed at 11pm. Good accommodations for the budget-minded and don't expect any upgrades or perks and you will not be disappointed. But the staff are wonderful!

I showed the desk person grey stains all over the bottom sheet. She only offered other sheets that we would have to remake. I expected a different room. She was convinced the sheets were clean. The sofa bed and recliner were old and worn out. No fridge. They make sure construction workers get a fridge per room and move them. Pack your shampoo.

The property was in total disrepair. It was the worst hotel I have ever experienced. The women who checked me in was sweet and the nicest thing about the hotel. The room was disgusting. Booked a none smoke room, but that was a joke. The Room smelt like a bars ash tray. I couldn’t breath. The AC was caked with dust, the lamps had dust on them. The bathroom was distorted, cracked title, disgusting grout, rusting everything. Ceiling, tub, mold all over. I literally could not stand the room and left with in 2 hours. Chair ripping and deteriorating. Completely abandoned the hotel and slept in my car. I was traveling with a trailer and there was not adequate parking. I left the hotel and slept in my car at a truck stop. The worst hotel anyone can imagine, I can’t believe it wasn’t shut down for health violations.

The most annoying thing was that the wifi worked, but could/would not connect to the internet. That evening, the front desk person said internet access came and went.
I did not have internet access for my entire stay on four different devices, throughout my entire stay. I spoke to the front desk person in the morning and he insisted it worked. When almost no one was in the hotel as I checked out, lo and behold it finally did work. I resent the front desk person insisting there is no problem, there is. For that reason alone this place gets a failing grade X. Cross it off your list

I appreciated this hotel for its cleanliness, proximity to shopping/dining options and public transportation, facilities, and kind staff members. While the surrounding area isn't the most stunning visually, it is centrally located and thus a very good option for vistitors looking to stay somewhere with easy access to the primary sights and attractions of Fargo. I would reccomend caution when exploring the area at night, since it didn't appear to be the safest. Nothing alarming, but I would advise basic caution.

Inexpensive isn’t always worth it!

It appeared to be a drug infested motel by the comings and goings of cars in the back parking lot. The smell of cigarette smoke in my room caused me congestion. The stains on the comforter was not appealing. The refrigerator had towels in it to catch the water from the melting ice. There was no fire alarm as it appeared to be ripped from the ceiling, there were only exposed wires where it was supposed to be. Enough said!!!
