(My mom's account I reserved through). First room the door didn't lock. It took until the next day to get a new room. Manager was rude and not helpful. There was construction next door so it was really loud. It was not a good experience.

The room was clean but very thin walls and doors. It sounded like the people in the hall where in our room - very loud. You had to make sure the door shut completely, the elevators were very slow and looked/sounded like they needed some work.
The pool area was great with a great location on the beach.

The hotel is generally OK. The half board option is certainly recommended. The parking is a pain. As a visitor, I need a few minutes to set up my sat nav before departing. Generally the spaces outside the hotel are full of rental cars awaiting collection so valets leave your car blocking the entrance. Taxi and other drivers are totally impatient when their exit is blocked. The $50 charge and tips to the valets also make it quite expensive. The hotel elevators are a disaster. Too small, too slow and not enough of them. It took us 20 minutes to get an elevator to reception with enough room for us and our bags when we checked out

Unfortunately, there was construction above our room during our five night stay. From 9-6 each day there was extremely loud jackhammering above our room which made it impossible to be there. The front desk and Expedia did nothing to resolve this. The room was fine, the staff was friendly but not helpful in resolving the issue. Others on the top floor had the same complaint. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Staff are great but the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Especially the pillows they are horrible. I had to use a towel as my pillow. Other hotels have feather pillows that are far more comfortable. It would be nice to have a choice. For this reason we won’t return. It’s too bad because everything else was nice.

The place wasn't on the level of other Riu resorts. If you need to nap or rest during the day the maids are really loud. We actually thought there was construction. The rooms are just OK. The food options available were just ok. I would not stay here again

Amazing location with a stunning beach view. Good food options, close walking to many other restaurants and shops. Wish there were umbrellas at the beach. The walls are thin and we heard our neighbors quit a bit, but other than that a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The service was outstanding — professional, friendly, and truly high-level. The breakfasts were amazing with a great variety and everything was fresh and delicious. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel was a lot more basic than we were expecting. We were disappointed with the communal area, in terms of not having a beautiful bar area for evening drinks. The bedroom was ok, but nothing special and a little clinical. In addition check in was very inefficient. All in all, nothing terrible about the hotel- but it simply adequate - lacking the \"special factor\".

The room was great value for money. We have stayed in Miami several times & paid 3 times as much in other hotels for a smaller room. The staff on the whole were helpful & polite. The breakfast was great …plenty of choice & the dining room was spotless. Hubby said coffee was fab. One downside …when we booked we specifically emailed the hotel to ensure we had a car parking space available …we were told this wouldn’t be a problem. But when we arrived around 10.00pm the hotel car park was full & the only alternatives were a car park 11 minutes away or the street. Given we had been travelling for 24 hours this was not ideal. So don’t assume because you ask you will get a parking spot. It’s a pity you can’t pre book a spot

The hotel is clean. The staff will greet you but not immediately. The rooms are ok but the beds are small and everything is built for shorter stature people. I am average and the beds and toilet are short! TV's are older. Everything is average and ok.

Average hotel. Noticed few things during our stay.
- The staff outside the hotel is \"valet only\" staff. Don't expect anyone to help you with your bags.
- One day, our room was not made up. Looks like they are \"scheduled\". Not sure if they do it daily by default.
- Zero sound-proof. We heard literally everything our room neighbors said.
- We didn't rent a car but if you do, expect a front parking of just 4-5 cars. So, don't take a car with you.
- No late checkout available.

Good things.
- The pool is good.

Room set up was weird. No privacy. The sinks were in the bed room and the bathroom door doesn’t actually close, just swings
We were told to go to the front desk to get a discounted coupon for the on-site restaurant. They didn’t explain that the restaurant was buffet only and that there was no dinner menu available. I ended up paying $100 at the front desk for a dinner that was nonrefundable with a minimum buffet. I felt totally conned.

I booked ocean view room. Hotel gave me lower floor room without any ocean view. Such a rip off.

I ordered additional towels. Never got them.

Valet rates are outrageous. They even charge extra $20 if you are arriving earlier than 3 pm. Such a ripoff.

Front desk staff was not very helpful. Even before the stay, I called to ask some questions. They were not helpful and lacked interest when asking basic questions (i.e. parking at the hotel). Also, there was a clump of hair in the bed upon check in. I wish I could attach the photo.

The room floor was filthy, our white socks were black by the end of the day. Staff did not have warm greetings or feel like they were very interested in helping us. We had no blankets on our beds only two bed sheets, we called down for blankets and it took 45 min to receive and they were thin prison/type blankets. Overall not a good experience. Pool was nice, ocean was close.

Booked an ocean view…got a view of palm trees on fourth floor. Rooms are outdated. Paid for extra person, seems weird in a two double bed room with three people. Despite paying for third person we routinely were given towels for two people. Air conditioning runs all night and is very loud. My wife used ear plugs at night. There was no microwave and the fridge had water leaking out when we arrived.

Front desk staff was annoyed that we were checking in, then had questions about the hotel. Once we got to the room we should have taken the rude staff as a sign. The room was dirty, black mold in shower, odor coming from bathroom. Looking at the outside it looks nice then when you walk in they must have hired the local trade school to do the renovations because it was horrible. Paint on the floor from painting walls and missing the wall, rust on the doors was painted over, balcony door did not close properly and you had to fight to unlock and lock the door. Make sure you bring a fan because the temperature is a fight. You either are cold or hot.

Very nice stay. The room was lovely and in a loction which fulfilled my request.
The area is lovely with reference to the locality of the beach and local shops/ restaurants.
Staff very pleasant and kind. This included the reception staff, concierge, staff in the dining room, breakfast staff,housekeeping, towel staff, beach staff. Everyone!
Will love to come and stay longer as I was there for just a day.

I am familiar with the Riu brand & [based on prior experiences] had expectations of a pleasant/comfortable stay.
Unfortunately, the inconvenience of having to walk up & down 6 flights of stairs because the elevators were not working, took away from what could have been a pleasant stay.
To make matters worse, the reception staff never acknowledged the issue. Turns out the elevators are often out of service.
I will not return, not will recommend this hotel if you are traveling with people needing assistance

We arrived early due to cruise and ask if we can check in a little early. Response your check in will be around 3pm. Follow up couple times and was told it be ready by 3…No one call or message us had to come back at 3 and room was finally available….and they put us in a room that was handicap accessible in which we did not request. Water flow out everywhere when shower…
