The hotel is a lovely hotel. It's not a big brand name, but it is lovely. It's pool area is very nice. It's restaurant is fantastic. The staff were very good. The beach is across the street. We took the free trolley across the street to the Ventura Mall, it took 45 minutes. Great property!!

Our stay was disappointing. We found a cockroach in our room, which was very concerning. The hotel only refunded $37 of the resort fee, which felt insufficient.
The bathroom was also in poor condition. Some of the ceramic moldings were broken and when we took showers, water leaked out and formed a large puddle on the bathroom floor. Since we were four people staying in the room for one night, we had to deal with this several times.
The staff also seemed uninterested in helping, both at the front desk and at the restaurant.
It’s unfortunate because the location is good, but overall the experience was disappointing.

This was our 3rd time staying here over the past 5 years and more than likely our last. It’s a nice hotel but poorly managed. When checking in they have music playing so loud that it’s hard to hear or understand the front desk staff. They charge a bogus $30 per day “resort fee”. It’s far from a resort and the only thing that they have to offer as an amenity is a small pool and a work out area that is pitiful. I will say that the food is pretty good. However, the staff always seems stressed and confused. The staff is also very inconsistent with their friendliness. At times you’re greeted with a smile and told Hello by one staff member and you can walk by another one and be completely ignored. At times you may sit there wondering if a server will ever greet you. Two out of the 3 times we stayed they have put us in a room with a make shift air conditioner that sits inside the room. It’s so loud that you can’t hold conversations trying to talk over it. Both times we have refused the room and they did move us into a nicer room. This past time we stayed one of the elevators was out of order and people were hauling their luggage up a short flight of stairs to get to the second elevator. It was out of order the entire week we were there. Finally, there was no ice on our floor due to the ice machine being broken down. It too stayed out of order the entire week. Overall this place isn’t horrible but there’s a lot that needs improved.

Mixed reviews. Room was clean with lots of windows, although had an extrememly strong bleach smell. We do wish the windows had screens so we could have opened them and gotten some fresh air. If not for that, room would have been perfect! One very slow tiny working elevator so had to take the stairs for the most part. Nobody to help with luggage on the stairs. It was a fun, boutique artsy vibe. Disappointed in the small pool but it was a nice place just to sit outside..not worth the nightly resort fee though (also poor wifi). Overall would rate it as 3.5/5

Room was fine but no coffee or tea.
Staff seemed very unhappy, stressed, and rude with guests. We asked when towels for beach would be available and receptionist was extremely standoffish, responding that she did not know and that the other employees deserved their break…?
Also be prepared to wait over 5 mins every time you need to take the elevator. There is only one elevator in the hotel. Also get ready to have to make several trips to the reception per day because your hotel room key will be deactivated multiple times per day. I have never experienced this in all my years of travel.
Pros of the hotel are it’s proximity to beach but there are many cons. If a hotel has so many problems, the least you’d expect is staff that makes up for it but that was not the case. I would not stay here again nor recommend the place to anyone

I booked three rooms for my family. Called the front desk a week before we arrived to confirm we all would have rooms right next to each other. They confirmed they would take care of it. We landed and got to the hotel at 12:15AM. The guy behind the front desk looked overwhelmed and said he had two rooms on the third floor on opposite sides and one room on the sixth floor. I told him we couldn’t do that being that we have young kids. He spent the next fifteen minutes doing something on the computer not talking and then looked up at us and said we owed the resort fee and he has nothing available and that the manager would be in at 9AM. My kids were exhausted and he was incapable of helping so I said we’ll sleep with the kids. My wife couldn’t get into the room with the keys he gave us for the sixth floor so she went back down and he made new keys and went up with my wife and daughter. He knocked on the door and put the key in and a woman answered the door bc it was an occupied room! At this point it was past 1AM. My wife called me and I came down. He said he was sorry and he magically found us a room on the third floor!? We got settled around 1:30AM and went to bed. The manager said he’d waive the resort fee for one night lol. The keys didn’t work throughout the entire trip and we constantly had to keep going downstairs to get new ones multiple times a day. Also No housekeeping over four days! I booked a separate hotel the last night. Dreadful experience.

Great overall vibe at the Croydon. Clean and relaxing room with very comfortable bedding, and a strong shower. TV was the only disappointment with few analog cable channels (though who comes to Miami Beach to watch cable TV?). The pool area is fairly small, but was no issue getting loungers. And the hotel restaurant and bar are great with top-notch service. Perfect location far enough from the crowds but close enough for whatever action you’re looking for.

We stayed here as a little family reunion and got three hotel rooms. Reasons it was subpar that you should be aware of:
1- It is not ADA accessible. We had to climb a set of stairs to get in and a flight to get up to the elevator.
2- Parking is terrible. You have to constantly pay for metered parking on the street or park at a garage a good 10 minute walk away.
3 - One of the elevators was out of order and the working one was terribly slow. My family waited 8 minutes for it at checkout time and finally took the stairs with luggage and my brother in law fell due to this.
4 - Our 3 keys for our room didn’t work several times. We had all of them re-keyed and were told not to have them near phones or other cards which we did and still had issues.
5 - The attached restaurant servers act like they are put out to have to serve you. We had coffee there one morning and the guy was probably mad that’s all we were having, and when we asked for a refill he only filled each cup halfway, then we never saw him again, and had to ask someone else for the check. Still waited about 15 minutes and finally threw some money down and started leaving. Then he stopped us to sign/pay the bill. We had 2 other similar instances.
6 - The rooms were all FREEZING! It said 67 but was much colder. My 6’4” brother in law had to sleep with sweatpants on and sister had to cover her head with the covers. It will not allow you to change it to heat, and I believe it was controlled by management.

Very clean room, and quiet. The air was thankfully fresh although the air conditioning was either cold, freezing, or OFF and muggy. We really enjoyed our stay but the Tavern restaurant has a lot of room for improvement and I don’t think I’ll eat there again after receiving a spinach salad with rotten leaves underneath the top layer. They tried to give me a free dessert, but I declined. The rooftop lounge was great and overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The staff were fabulous, the Hotel was packed with people in the lobby waiting to leave on a cruise out Miami. Even with the number of people checking out at the front desk, the staff immediately acknowledged us and looked after our check in. We were there way to early but they said they would call us as soon as the room was ready. Could not recommend the Croydon enough. Room is very clean, a complimentary bottle of wine and a very short 2 minute walk to the beach. I will go with a 10 out of 10.

The staff were very friendly, I loved the happy hour (free drink for guests!) and restaurant, and the room was very clean and came with robes! I also loved the iced cucumber water in the lobby. Firstly, I love this hotel. It is stylish and just nice enough at an afforable rate. The staff is always professional & helpful & fun. The bartenders are always super cool and I am grateful for my birthday treatment (Thanks to \"D\" at the front desk & The day bartender sorry I forgot your names :) ) & our breakfast was lovely. I was a bit disappointed with my room this time though. I stayed here last year and the mini bar had much more stock and my favorite Saratoga water. This time I had to go ask specially just to get 2 plastic bottles of purrified water. I brought my friend this time and had talked up the hotel on this point, becauae we prefer to only drink spring water. I don't know if the management changed or what but I hope you go back to putting more than a can and a bottle of beer in the minibar fridge. The room bedding was not on par initially ( and this was fixed ) but housekeeping was kind of hovering as my friend was trying to leave for dinner and it could have been handled a bit smoother. I want to make Hotel Croydon my go to and partner with promoting your business as i stay in town. So, I hope things are more up to par next time...like providing your guests with water in their \"superior\" suite or period. Overall lovely location & front desk staff. We appreciate your efforts.

Long waits for elevators. Room was your typical hotel type of clean, had a bit of a smell. Air conditioning was iffy at times, toilet paper was terrible, and no microwave. Other than that everything was fine.

Hotel was in a good area. Staff was friendly. Tavern restaurant haf good good and nice waiters. Claire and Hassan were awesome. The only problem was the extra fees added to the check. They add 14% gratuity plus 3.5% service fee, then add they ask for tip on top of that. Not to mention the taxeas well. .Each time we are it was an ectra $20 in fees. Free trolley across the street was very good. Beach access was great. They do have a resort fee of $30, i dont really see why they charge this but oh well. Oh they offer happy hour drinks daily for 1 hr as well as free coffee in the AM for an hour. But not worth $30 per day. Otherwise the hotel was good. Would stay again. But would find other food options. Or find another hotel without the added resort fee. All the fees almost add up to another nights stay.

This is my second time staying at the property. The first time was in July and we came out before our cruise. The room was clean and large and the bathroom was spacious. We decided to come back again before this cruise. Check-in was quick and easy. The only hiccup was when we got to our room. It smelled of mildew, but it was quickly resolved. We went back down to the desk and the host quickly exchanged our room for another. It took all of five minutes and it was painless. We then ate at the restaurant however it was late so there was only a limited menu. We had the wings and fries and they were tasty and the drinks were delicious. All in all the stay was great and when we come back to Miami in December, we will probably stay here again.

Very friendly and accommodating, rooms clear and very cool in temperature, just some miner thing like no tissues for your nose and no trash can for trash and if your there for days , because the bathroom one is way tiny. But over all would stay again, oh wish the had a smoking area like the roof top where no one goes. Would be great . Its a controlled investment. I would go again. Good food at the Tavern, wish coffee was served from6-9 for us night owls . Thumbs up 👍

Look elsewhere, this place is not professional

Negatives:

- No AC running upon entering hotel room.
- Got placed right next to an elevator, despite it being off-season and half empty hotet.
- Non-working pool filters, hair clots and debris floating around the pool (not a little but ALOT).
- Noisy neighbors both nights around 1AM
- Leaking ceiling outside room, which required a repair job all morning one day (lot of power tools).
- Room keys that stop working just one day into the stay
- Evacuation Alarm at 1AM in the morning, with no reason explained on why nor any apology from the hotel staff.
- Offered a partial refund for our stay upon checking out, only to be an empty lie from the hotel front desk and not honored.

Positive:

- Proximity to beach and ocean.
- Decent food at Tavern Bar.

This place is amazing. We stumbled upon it scrolling through hotels. So glad we did. All the staff from the front desk to house keeping to all employees at their restaurant “The Tavern”. If you go make sure you ask for Payton or Robert behind the bar. The management there is wonderful. Maria is the GM and she deserves more than 5 stars. Then the other manager Marcos was awesome. If there was more than 5 stars I would give it in all aspects. I will definitely make this my hotel choice any time I’m in Miami. So much better than the larger $500-$600 dollar a night hotels on South Beach

I love my stay at the croydon hotel. I love the layout of the place,i love the way it smells. I even enoy the staff,everyone's so friendly. The very night we checked in the electricity went out @or around 8pm and didn't come back on until after 4am....that was a long time to be without air,cold water or any accommodations. Management didnt give nor say anything of courtesy.

Me ofrecieron en un email, una clase de yoga los sábados y café para el desayuno de 7-8 am .Fui a recepción a preguntar por esto y me dijeron que no era cierto que esto fue hace 6 meses!!! Ellos no habían modificado esto en la plataforma de Expedia por lo que me decepcionó.

Además, necesita calentar comida en microondas, fui a recepción a preguntar si nos facilitaban o que nos cobraran por usar el artefacto y adivina que!!!? NO TENÍAN MICROONDAS! y el restaurante que tienen alado tampoco! Raro.

Por las noches fue muy ruidoso. En cuanto a la habitación, si estaba todo limpio y ordenado.

Avoid Hotel Croydon – Cheap Price, Expensive Headache
The only reason people book here is the low price and fakecreviews but you get what you pay for. The employees are rude, the management is worse, and any problem you have instantly becomes your problem, not theirs. They tack on resort fees, the rooms are tiny, and the A/C barely cools. Service is dismissive, solutions don’t exist, and overall it’s just a bad, bad experience. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Never staying at Hotel Croydon again.
Our room’s A/C was broken and replaced with a noisy portable unit that barely cooled to 80–82°F. The hotel claimed it was sold out and we couldn’t move rooms without manager approval—yet the manager was off until the next morning. Reviews from other guests show this is a recurring problem. I couldn’t sleep, my wife couldn’t sleep, and it’s hard to believe this is acceptable. Apologies instead of solutions—completely unacceptable.
