The hotel receptionist did not provide any information about the hotel upon arrival. We had to visit the front desk to request pool towels and obtain basic hotel details. During checkout, we had to carry our luggage down two flights of stairs and walk to reception because no one responded to our request for assistance.

We stayed in Room 201-K, a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit. The furnishings were very simple, and the twin beds were quite uncomfortable. Upon entering the unit, there was a strong humidity odor, and there were many mosquitoes inside the room. No elevators.

The master bathroom consistently had a strong sewage odor, similar to untreated wastewater, which made it very unpleasant. Additionally, the glass shower door was not installed properly and swung from side to side, creating a safety hazard when entering the shower. I did report this issue during checkout.

The kitchen was not properly equipped; there were no basic supplies available, not even a kitchen towel. The Wi-Fi connection was extremely slow. The reception staff appeared very disorganized, and overall the unit felt outdated and in need of a full renovation.

Pros:The beach was nice, and the food was acceptable. The servers were very kind and attentive. The pool area was nice, although it was not as large as advertised.

Guests have the option to add an all-inclusive package or stay without it. spacious, large closets, good air conditioning, fans.

Nice place and good value. Some units are better under renovation which can be disruptive. Beach is beautiful but they should extend internet to beach. As soon as you leave beach bar the internet is gone.

Pool was amazing with multiple bars close by. Beach is calm and relaxing with the swim with dolphins tour next door. Front desk staff, Seimy, Luis, and Nayrobie were amazing! Anna from buggy tours was so great too! Mr. Leandro and his restaurant staff were fantastic! I had the most amazing experience at this location. I visited other resorts when going on tour to pick up other groups and did not get the same good vibe as the Bakour Resort. Come here and enjoy this awesome view of Punta Cana.

Due to a flight cancellation, we had to find another hotel. Three couples, they arranged us to have a three bedroom suite with common area and to give us meals. It was only one day, but it absolutely serviced our needs.

Walk to the beach, kite surfers were entertaining. Dolphin Explorer is next door.

Food was buffet, but fairly fresh and hot. Bar drinks were excellent

Only downside is that our remote didn’t work, so struggled to get the olympics. But they sent someone up quickly (couldn’t easily fix). Not the end of the world though

We had 2 rooms- the one-bed room was great. The 3 room suite smelled musty. They ended up moving us to a different room and it was much better. The service was great- they try their best to make your stay good. Food and bars were good. The beach does not have a great swimming area but the beach itself is nice. We did not leave the resort or buy any trips although there are plenty of people that want to sell you trips.

We didn’t spend much time in our room but that would be the only thing that would be better

This trip was meant to be a vacation, but instead it turned into an extremely distressing and unacceptable experience due to severe service failures and unsafe conditions at the hotel.
Despite booking one of the most expensive room categories, the hotel failed to provide even basic amenities and services as advertised. There was no safe in the room for the first two days, and when we complained, hotel staff responded rudely, stating that since the booking was made through Expedia, we should “complain to Expedia.” We were also told that if we did not leave the hotel immediately, no complaints would be considered, which felt like coercion.
We were traveling with a sick elderly father, who required his own room and private bathroom for medical and personal reasons. Due to financial limitations, relocating to another hotel was not possible. The hotel management showed complete disregard for his condition, which resulted in severe humiliation and distress.
Additional serious issues include:
No hot water during the entire stay
Extremely poor food quality, inconsistent with the hotel’s advertised rating
Almost no entertainment or activities (only 2 shows during an entire week)
Only 2 public toilets for the entire hotel
On the beach, there was only one restroom cabin, causing my elderly father to suffer multiple humiliating accidents while trying to reach our room
The “beach” was not a beach at all, but a rocky harbor area used for ships
Alcohol service was limited to local alcohol o

Staff was excellent, hotel was clean so 10/10 on that. Price was good.
Cons AC doesn’t work in the bedrooms, had to be moved rooms 3 times due to things not working, was a big leak ect. This is no reflection on the staff they did everything they could quickly to make it right. I would have to say this comes down on the owner of the resort. There is NO evening entertainment even tho we were told when we got there that there would be. So for someone looking for a very quiet resort experience this would be the place. I personally wouldn’t stay again, just want to emphasize that the staff were amazing and were very accommodating in trying to ensure people where taken care of, I hope the owner of the resort takes care of all the rooms that have no AC in the bedrooms, living rooms it always worked. As well ans seeing the value of adding daily/nightly entertainment .Also only being able to get some hot water in the showers usually only worked in 1 out of the 2 bathrooms in the unit.

Our stay at Bakour Resort in Punta Cana was mixed. The resort is beautiful and the food was good — we never went hungry. Breakfast was the best meal (especially American food), and the pasta bar at lunch was excellent.
We went on two excursions. One was advertised as snorkeling but was not actually snorkeling; however, it ended up being our best experience because of the staff. Baby Monkey was amazing and made it fun — if you book an excursion, ask for him. The Saona Island excursion was disappointing. We spent about 6 hours in transportation, were only on the island for about 1 hour instead of the promised 2, the boat was overcrowded, and there was very little communication in English. We were also not told to bring money for drinks. The only positive was how beautiful the beach was once we arrived.

The resort staff overall were very kind. Saimy was our go-to and was great. The snack bar bartender and the woman at the front desk were wonderful. One waiter at the Asian restaurant was rude and unpleasant.

Unfortunately, several room and communication issues affected our stay. The hot tub didn’t work, our bedroom light switch was broken, some outlets didn’t work, our room wasn’t cleaned daily, there was no trash can, and room service didn’t include napkins. Information about activities and amenities existed but was not clearly communicated.

With better communication, excursion management, and room maintenance, this resort could be much better.

My family of five spent a week at Bakour and had a truly wonderful time. Check-in was quick and easy offering drinks on arrival for us and our children. Our room, while not perfect (bathroom door would not shut, old food left in microwave, no pull-out couch despite being offered in listing) was large and spacious, comfortably fitting us all, a rare find for a larger family. Beds were comfortable, balcony was stunning, no noise from neighbours, and cleaning staff was excellent for our entire stay. We even had a sick child one evening and were given extra cleaning support, which we greatly appreciated. The resort grounds are beautiful and extremely clean. The pool was never dirty. The beach loungers show some wear and tear, but we always had plenty of spaces available to us by the pool or on the beach. The food was very fresh, flavourful, and we were consistently given new options every day. The drinks were also excellent, not syruppy like other resorts, but tasting of fresh ingredients. The coffee bar was such a treat, equipped with an espresso machine and truly talented barista. We ate at the Asian themed restaurant one evening but we preferred the buffet. The REAL winner at this resort is the service. The staff are just so incredible, capable, helpful, kind. I could go on and on. My youngest felt so comfortable here, she cried upon departure lol Perhaps not a 5 star resort, but defintiely a 5 star experience.

My overall experience was great the food was amazing! Kimberly would worked front helped with my every need. My only dislike was at the beach people are able to sale things to you and will not leave you alone. They remember your face and say I’ll be back tomorrow if you change your mind. I just wanted to relax and enjoy the weather and the beach be those people selling things will even wake you up it was extremely annoying made me not want to go to the beach. Also the shower temperature was inconsistent first and last night was the only time I had an hot shower. Also the theme restaurants had extremely slow service I almost left a few time and go to the buffet instead for food. Those were my biggest issues other than that I had a great experience the food was lovely the scenery was night a relaxing. It was a nice relaxing resort and I’ll definitely be back!

Don’t waste your money -so disappointing!
the food is just about edible - you can get the basic drinks in all inclusive which are pretty good cocktails made well by the bar staff so can’t complain there.
Very basic amenities and food apart from that - told they didn’t have simple things sometimes like water in the afternoon at the pool bar, no pina colado, no ice cream. Asian restaurant is the best but others not worth attending. The sea isn’t blue like other areas around although it is peaceful and less busy on the beach just not pretty or clean. Half of the staff are lovely and the other half are rude and terrible. We booked here for a Christmas trip and almost moved it was so underwhelming. It is passable but if your expecting 5 star all inclusive resort - don’t book here, I’ve stayed in better 3* and hostels. Had to ask for the room to be cleaned on numerous occasions after coming back after 5pm room still wasn’t clean. The coffee shop guy is amazing big up Wilma also Oliver and luis at the bar were very polite attentive and helpful. Leonardo also stood out so helpful lovely and hard working. Also big shoutout to LeBron and rafael - these people made our stay the best it could be but they could only work with what they had.

The cleaning staff didn't come for the last 4 days of our trip, despite repeated requests. Also, the HVAC in our room froze and stopped working for 3 days. Another guest's room was burglarized by the cleaning staff, probably explaining why they weren't cleaning our room. We were promised compensation from the resort, which never materialized.

Won't go back, despite it being an attractive resort.

Overall my family and I had a great time while staying at Bakour Suites, but the resort definitely has some positives and negatives.

Positives:
I would give the food an \"OK\" rating. The buffet has standard resort-buffet fare and it was good. The specialty restaurants were ok. FYI the \"Asian\" and \"Italian\" restaurants are in the same building but change each day

The pool is great. The water was nice and the chair/umbrella setup seemed to work well. We typically walked out between 8 and 8:30AM and there were always chairs available. Bartender/Waiter Braulio (sp?) was great and worked hard bringing drinks to everyone throughout the day.

The entertainment staff was fun...\"Julio MC\" and a woman whose name I cannot remember did make an effort to interact with everyone.

Negatives:
Three main negatives...1.) The facility and rooms is/are in major need of repairs. we had a three bedroom suite with two showers...one of the showers had a broken handle and would not turn on. It was not fixed we let them know within the first hour we were there. The air conditioning randomly would stop and start working each day.
2.) The resort is VERY understaffed. I really felt like they need to double the amount of people working there. changing over tables in the buffet, room cleaning/fixing, and bartending service is very slow because of this.
3.) The beach at the resort is a small marina and not swimmable. You need to walk next door which isnt very far but slightly annoying

The amenities in the rooms could be nicer - the shower did not get warm and it just dribbled. But the mist disappointing thing for me was the beach in front of the hotel - the water isn’t blue - though it is elsewhere on the island. It’s right next to an eyesore tourist trap called Dolphin Exploer. And many ships dock in front of the hotel.

Bakour is a beautiful resort and location with wonderful staff, but not well kept. The rooms are not clean. We had two issues of leaking in bathrooms and had to be moved. Rooms clearly had a mold and mildew smell to them. Each unit has a hot tub, but none work. Had to request housekeeping come to our rooms in order to have our rooms cleaned and towels refreshed. We were offered something for our trouble, but all they wanted to give us was a bottle of wine that was already part of the all inclusive. The food is ok. Breakfast buffet is basic and same everyday. Lunch options at restaurant were awful. Dinners were good, but need reservations to enjoy.

Servers: Carlos, Johanna and Rafael were terrific! Joan in buffet was so kind! And the younger gentleman (can’t remember his name) making coffee at coffee bar every morning was so happy and lovely! All were very gracious and believe me when I say, if you are willing to tip it goes a very long way!

Upon check-in, the first impression was good: a huge loggia, a Jacuzzi, and a pleasant view. However, during the first day we discovered several issues. The Jacuzzi was not working, the window shutters would not rise, the hot water was barely warm, and the exterior door would not close, leaving no privacy on the loggia. When the Wi-Fi in the room went out and was not fixed until the evening, we asked to change rooms.
The second room was fine overall, except that during rain, water leaked under the front door and flooded half of the room. The hot tub does not have heated water and can only be used during the day to cool off from the heat; in the evening, the water is too cold to use.
It was also very unpleasant to see broken furniture lying in the hallway near our room and a garbage area in the neighboring storage room, the door to which was always open.
On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. There were algae on the beach, but the hardworking staff cleaned it daily, and our beach was one of the best compared to neighboring hotels.

Property overall was clean with nice rooms. Beach had murky water not very swimmable. Pool was nice but inconsistent with the drink service. Bar was only Classico for liquor. If you wanted anything else you had to pay. For example for vodka, Smirnoff, absolute or any low brands were not included there was an up charge. A few times I asked for a mixed drink and they were out of the liquor. There is one restaurant and one Buffett with limited options at the buffet. Staff and service overall was good outside of the reception area which had terrible customer service.

The process of reserving the restaurant is complicated and only a few spots are open. There are barely any activities in the resort and the food is bland. I would not return to this location again.

So I could probably write a book about how terrible this place is. When we arrived we waited in the lobby for approximately 45 minutes. When I finally got to the front of the line I asked to speak to the manager because it’s ridiculous to be standing in the lobby for 45 minutes with no beverages offered to the guest. The answer I received was “well this just the way our check in process is” no resolution.

Once we got to the room at first glance it looked beautiful. However, as we settled in we realized that the place was NOT properly cleaned. The floors were greasy, there was hair in the shower, and the lint bin in the laundry room clearly hadn’t been changed in 10+ guest. The floors have cracks and discoloration in the bathroom. Hairline cracks in the bathroom mirror. Then we ordered room service and the dishes sat there for 2 days. Despite cleaning service coming to clean they never actually cleaned until our 2nd to last day. The lady came in with a simple garbage bag and picked up our trash then left.

Lastly, the food is horrible in the buffet. I’m from Chicago so I know good food and nothing about it was good. The only good food is the speciality restaurants. Fruit was not ripe. Rice not fully cooked. The care put into the food at the buffet is abominable especially considering how many people are back there cooking. Why no one is taste testing things before bringing them out I don’t know. I could keep going but I ran out of words. Don’t go.

DO NOT COME HERE they false advertising. The beach have seaweed piles pier left and right with a million boats on the middle you limited with a water access but you don’t want to go inn because all the boat is letting out a sewer water here. The Buffett is smaller than my kitchen at home. Food is limited and not fresh. Room is ok but not factional phones is not hooked up on the room you have to walk down 4 floor at a middle of the night if you need something from a front room service don’t speak any English. you got a jacuzzi on your balcony but only with cold water if you got a water in to maybe warm up with a weather is started to turn green after 1 hour. We left after 24 hour and paid for an other hotel Grand Princess Bavaro was great. This hotel don’t refund any money.

I returned home last night after a 15-day stay at this resort.

Check-in was quick and efficient. Although the buffet had just closed, we were informed about room service.

Overall, the staff was wonderful—kind, patient, and helpful, even with our Spanglish. I would rate the staff 9/10, with the exception of one young lobby bar attendant who could improve her attitude.

The buffets were consistently good. The soups were excellent, and breakfasts were outstanding with a wide variety of breads, pastries, cereals, yogurt, fruits, juices, and desserts. 9/10, only because much of the food was overly salted.

The specialty reservation restaurants were disappointing. There appeared to be poor quality control, with some meat undercooked or too tough to chew. 5/10.

The beach was nice but not your typical Caribbean beach that I’m used to. Snorkelling was not possible due to dark water. 6/10.

We stayed in a two-bedroom deluxe ground-floor suite beside the pool ! The room was clean and comfortable, but the Jacuzzi was not heated and unusable. A kitchen was provided but lacked basic cooking items.

The main issue was a strong sewer gas smell in room 102G coming from the bathroom drains. Maintenance dismissed the issue, though it was very real and needs proper plumbing repair.

I would have loved to seen somewhere a list of daily events so us visitors could plan our week.

Would I return? Yes, but I would also like to explore more of the Dominican Republic.

I’ll start by saying this: you get what you pay for. We was here 5 days

The bad:
This is a very quiet resort with no entertainment at all. If you’re looking for fun, activities, or nightlife, this is not the place. The staff seemed very overworked—some were friendly, but many appeared moody and exhausted, which showed in the service.

The food was okay but very repetitive, with little seasoning. It was also hard to get reservations at the specialty restaurants, and honestly, the specialty restaurant food wasn’t that great either.

The air conditioning did not work well in the bedrooms—only the living room cooled properly. The refrigerator didn’t keep food cold, and it wasn’t just our unit; other guests had the same issue. There were no pots, pans, cups, or utensils for cooking.

The surrounding area is very run-down, with construction going on, and after 9 PM it gets very noisy, which made relaxing difficult.

The good:
The two-bedroom villa was very spacious and clean, which was a big plus. Room service was limited but available until 2 AM. The pool areas were clean, and the view helped make up for some of the downsides 🌴

Overall:
I’d give this resort a 6/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☆☆☆☆

If you just want a clean place to sleep, relax by the pool, and don’t expect much entertainment, this resort may work for you. But if you’re looking for more fun, better food, luxury, and entertainment, I’d recommend skipping this resort and choosing another option 😊

Room was great- two bedroom with a huge balcony. Washing machine/dryer and full kitchen - AC worked very well. Staff went above and beyond/ service was 5 star. This resort is very quiet- you’re not going have nightly entertainment like big resorts or a party crowd. If you want a quiet resort to relax this is the best resort. There is very little outside the resort so the all inclusive is a must unless you want to cook every meal yourself. The ocean is very murky- your not getting carribean like water, but there were palapas and lounge chairs (and there were no issue securing one). Pools were super clean. Bakour was great and easy to get a reservation. Top shelf liquor you cannot pay an up charge you actually have to buy the full bottle and triple the cost of what it is in the US. Employees were great, happy and a pleasure to deal with. Barista was amazing!

This was NOT a vacation resort, it was a very small hotel with several apartment blocks that were mostly privately owned. The entrance was in the middle of what the taxi driver called \"City of Sinners\" with large blocked gates which was very intimidating. The hotel was very underwhelming and very small. The washrooms between the lobby and the buffet restaurant had black mold on the ceilings. The buffet had one main counter which held salads on one side and hot food on the other. One small counter with dessert and fruit and another with breads. Very small with little change daily. One bar just outside the main lobby with amazing staff but only a few guests at any given time of day or night. The pool was very nice and ran the length of the property between the apartment blocks. The only other restaurant was at the end of the pool. It was supposed to be a Japanese restaurant that switched between Japanese and Italian which required reservations. Unfortunately, during the 7 nights we were there, they never offered Japanese. There is a bar on the back of the restaurant that offered snack items for lunch. There were several evenings throughout our stay that the buffet was not open due to lack of guests or they were serving local food on the patio. No other food options were available. The beach was beautiful and weather great. They offered darts and bocci ball with NO entertainment. There was another bar on the beach that stayed open later playing music from a sound system.

10/10 what I like more about the place is that they have amazing people working there . They’re so sweet and above that very polite . Diffidently I would come back to the same place soon . I’m very impressive with how they talk to you in a nice and educated way. Gorge was so nice and helpful . The woman in the gift shop at the resort was amazing and Manuel he can help you at the gift shop too , but we got the adventures package with him and it’s worth it !!! :) / at the bar by the beach ( Alcides ) very respectful and nice with a bring sweet smile . House keepers same always so educated with a good morning hi . The price is amazing as well ! Everything is outstanding here . ) Ernesto it’s the night shift at the from gate door when people arrives , amazing man and so helpful too. They all deserved a 10-plus . Resort has activities and if you like quiet place with good people o recommend you to stay at this place . Took me day to served it because I’m very selective . Enjoy of tour staying here :)

We had an amazing stay here. The apartment was clean, spacious, and fully furnished, with a large, beautifully arranged terrace that made relaxing outdoors a real pleasure.
The staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful, whether at the reception, restaurants, or bars, everyone went out of their way to make the experience enjoyable.
The food was excellent throughout the day, offering great variety and quality. The beach and pool area were lovely as well; not crowded or noisy, which made the whole place perfect for relaxing.
Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a peaceful atmosphere.

Overall we had an amazing stay at Bakour! The staff were the best part, they make you feel like family. The hotel was very clean and the rooms have everything you need. The pool is beautiful with lots of lounge chairs and nice seating areas. The only major downside to this resort is the beach. First of all, the hotel does not provide enough beach chairs. They had maybe 20 altogether. You have to go super early in the morning to claim a spot if you want a chair. The beach itself was also not very nice. The water is super murky, and it’s located right on a marina so there are boats completely blocking any nice views. Obviously not the fault of the hotels, but if you’re looking for a nice, relaxing beach vacation, don’t get your hopes up with this beach. We ended up walking down the beach to the next resort over so we could enjoy the water and the beach. But overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is just looking for a chill time at a nice resort!

Bakour Resort is excellent, starting with the front desk, Nairoby, our concierge, who provided us with a wonderful vacation. The buffet had 5-star food, with excellent service from Leonardo Pérez's team. The staff at the bars and restaurants provided excellent service. The very cheerful entertainment, with Baby, Coffee, and Mamajuana, made our vacation joyful and fun. Excellent room service. 100% recommended resort.

Let’s start by saying this resort is in no way a five star stay. The rooms are clean but lack the extras that make a five star resort a five star. There is no phone in the room, the resort forces you to use what’s app. It’s annoying. The restaurants lacked selection and weren’t always available. The use generic liquor and it was awful. The beach was surrounded by boat docks making the water muddy and gross. All the beach chairs were broken. The spa was okay but again lacked the special things that make a five star resort special. It was not at all the experience we paid for.

Road to access to this hotel is rough, narrow and many open holes. Be careful if you rent a car. Make sure all inclusive in reservation. Ocean is not clear so forget to swimming or snorkeling. Food is good. Staffs friendly. No restaurants around this hotel.

As several other reviews stated, the area around the resort does seem a little concerning for travelers. Bakour is a smaller resort as you could probably walk from the front desk to the back of the resort to the beach bar in five minutes. The resort itself felt very safe. The housekeeping service came daily to tidy up. We were unable to call the front desk with requests as our phone was not even connected or able to be connected to the jack on the wall. The water also stopped working in our room on the last day. They were able to get the issue resolved reasonably quickly, but unfortunately it was already time for us to leave for the airport. My partner LOVED the chicken at every meal at the buffet. The website for the resort states there is entertainment, but we didn’t see it any night we were there. We messaged our concierge to inquire about if there any activities or entertainment and were never given a response. Our nightly routine became going to the beach bar at night. The bartender down there was awesome and remembered our drink order everytime he saw us. We also booked a couple of excursions through Manuel who sits in the front lobby. We highly recommend the La Hacienda tour. We also did a tour of Santa Domingo that was good for site seeing in the city and to provide a different view of the DR outside of the resort area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this small low-key resort.

The hotel is beautiful! The pool at night looks gorgeous with the lighting, and having private access to the beach is a big plus. My room was spacious and comfortable, and the restaurants were really nice. The bathroom could use some updating to match the rest of the property, and it would be great if the hotel offered more activities for guests.

Everything inside the hotel is lovely, but the area outside is quite disappointing. The road from the airport to the hotel is full of potholes, and the surroundings look neglected, which gives the impression of being unsafe. Once you’re inside the property, though, it feels like a completely different world — calm, clean, and beautiful.

We recently stayed and Bakour Punta Cana suites and had a fabulous experience. The service was excellent. Our personal butler, Jorge, checked in everyday making sure we had everything we needed. Ingris, Fransico, and Derek were our servers for several meals and all were excellent. Ingris especially made us feel welcome and special every evening. They have Italian, Asian, and Dominican dinner themes, that they rotate through each evening. The Italian was our favourite night with the burrata salad and beef risotto main being my favourites on the Italian nights. At the beach bar, Alcedize was awesome!! He makes the best espresso martinis. We had the deluxe suite with a beautiful terrace, jacuzzi, loungers and outdoor dining. The room was extremely clean when we arrived and cleaned thoroughly daily.

Other staff that were wonderful were Coffee, Lebron, Henry, Joan, Jazmin, and Julio. 10/10 the staff made this whole trip a fabulous experience.

One negative: Expedia! We booked all inclusive through Expedia but when we got to the resort the front desk said our booking was not all inclusive. We had to pay extra to get the all inclusive at the resort. We ran into another couple who booked separately through Expedia and had the exact same issue. Expedia did nothing to help us (or the other couple) with this so I will not be using Expedia to book hotels again. This was an issue with Expedia - not the resort.

Clean rooms and great staff! But… the neighborhood getting in was awful, just know it is behind closed gate so safe ! The noise at night was extremely loud out till early in am! Pools are beautiful!
