had an amazing stay at this all exclusive hotel. Everything was great from the moment I arrived. The staff was professional, friendly, and always willing to help with anything I needed. One of the highlights was the food. The hotel provided three meals a day, and each meal was fresh, delicious, and offered a good variety of options. It made my stay very convenient and enjoyable. I also loved the jacuzzi, which was clean, relaxing, and a perfect way to unwind after a long day. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with excellent service, great food, and wonderful amenities. I would definitely stay here again!

Nuestra estadía en la habitación 301E fue buena en general. Nos gustó mucho la tranquilidad del lugar, la cena, la atención de los bartenders y especialmente el trabajo de las chicas animadoras, quienes siempre estuvieron pendientes de que los huéspedes se divirtieran y pasaran un buen momento. También queremos destacar a Alberto, un excelente bartender, muy amable y atento.
Como sugerencia de mejora, creemos que deberían reforzar un poco más la capacitación y supervisión en el área de limpieza. En la cocina de la habitación encontramos varias hormigas, lo reportamos en recepción y nos indicaron que enviarían a alguien, pero finalmente nadie acudió. Además, en la habitación principal encontramos una prenda íntima femenina con arena, lo que nos dio la impresión de que la limpieza no había sido revisada a profundidad.
Otro punto a mejorar sería la forma en que se ofrecen los tours, ya que la persona encargada fue bastante insistente, incluso después de haberle indicado varias veces que no estábamos interesados.
Fuera de esos detalles, la experiencia fue agradable y hay aspectos muy positivos que vale la pena resaltar

Food: Good. While the food was very good most of the time, the resort misrepresents the fact that they have multiple restaurants. There is two physical locations to get food - the buffet (usually breakfast/lunch) and the Asian restaurant (Kura) on the other side of the resort. They end up splitting Kura in half every night and calling one side Asian and one side international and they give you a different menu depending on what side you made a reservation for. And on nights they have a third restaurant option or the weather is nice, they put up a tent outside and call that the Italian restaurant. Also having to a make a reservation during the off season is strange. There were probably 20 people staying at the hotel the entire time we were there.

Amenities: Very Good. Beach is nice and pools were great when clean. Not much else to do though. We participated in water aerobics and morning stretching some days but we were bored.

Room: Poor. Shower did not have hot water, the room flooded with water from the rain, rooftop hot tub was dirty upon arrival, phone in room was just for show, water damage on all furniture, housekeeping came twice during an 8 night stay.

Service: Good. Bar service was very good. Drinks were strong and delicious. Rarely did we get checked on while at the pool/beach which is fine but we would've tipped well if servers came to us. Room service is non-existent, and front desk was not very helpful for Americans as their staff is not very good with English.

The staff was great the hotel was just outdated. We got a room with a hot tub and none of the tins could hold water bc of them cracked or broken pipes and that’s a big reason for getting the room. Then it took 3 days to get moved to another room when our air wasn’t working and the room was 84 degrees and stunk like sewage then the next room the air was good but the shower head was barely hanging on.

I love traveling as a young adult and it was the most peaceful trip ever, it was not ghetto or crazy. Good place to relax and enjoy the beautiful place. It’s so nice inside the resort 3 pools and private beach. The food/bar was amazing I loved it so much, the staff is so lovely I miss them so much I can’t wait to go back. It’s definitely a 110/100 I would recommend.The people who stay there are also so nice

We stayed at this resort in early June and had a mixed experience.

The biggest positives were the staff and atmosphere. Every employee we encountered was friendly, hardworking, and eager to help. Although there was sometimes a language barrier, their hospitality made a strong impression.

The property itself is showing its age. Many areas felt outdated, and several fixtures appeared to need maintenance. Compared with other all-inclusive resorts we’ve visited, this one felt more worn.

The food was decent but somewhat limited and repetitive. The staff’s excellent service helped make dining more enjoyable.

One of our biggest disappointments was the lack of activities and amenities in operation. We were told it was the “off season,” but several features, including the beach bar and larger buffet area, were not being used. For an early June visit, this was surprising.

On the positive side, the resort never felt crowded. The quiet atmosphere, easy access to amenities, and extra space made for a relaxing stay. If you want a lively resort with lots of entertainment, this may not be the best choice. However, those seeking a peaceful getaway may still enjoy it.

Overall, the staff were the highlight of our stay, but the resort would benefit from updates, better maintenance, more dining variety, and fuller use of its facilities.

Pretty terrible hotel. Before going I read the reviews and most very very positive. I cannot understand this.
Many of the members of staff were very pleasant. The beach of the hotel and surroundings are beautiful.
They use a magnetic wrist door opener which is really handy.
However, the premises are falling apart. We were upgraded to a suit. we had a lot of space but everything was falling apart. The beds had some many boards missing, the mattress kept pushing through which made it very uncomfortable to sleep. We had a big leak in the bathroom, which they insisted was condensation. It was not. It took them 7 days to fix it. The aircon kept dripping and making the very slippery floor wet. We felt several times.
There are no amenities or food for children.
Several of us, and later we found out several other customers, got a bad stomach from the food. It got pretty bad and some people went to the hospital. The results showed E.coli. This was presented to senior members of staff to pass onto management, but we did not even get an apology or explanation of what they were doing to avoid further food poisonings

Man, I was super skeptical about coming alone, and honestly, it was a little intimidating at first. But as soon as I arrived at Bakour Suites, they welcomed me with open arms. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I ended up making friends and having so many great conversations during my stay. The room was more than enough for me and had everything I needed. I truly loved my time there and would absolutely come back again.

Bakour resort, Punta Cana
•Be aware that most the good reviews are requested by the staff going around asking people to do good reviews favoring them.
•This is a GHOST resort, don’t waste your money on this place. This resort not even has a beach because is occupied by docked boats (the water smells diesel and nobody goes there) the few people that stays in Bakour has to walk 1/2 mile and use Serenade resort beach.
•Most of staff not even know how to make a mix drink (very often run out products to make the drinks)
•Water Pool sucks! They don’t treat the water and the chairs don’t have umbrelas.
•Had to change room because the A/C was not working, and the front door was falling apart
•NO ENTERTAINMENT AT ALL
•Buffet/restaurant always running out of food and juices, and very poor in variety of food.
•If you ask for an espresso coffee with a shot of liquor they don’t serve it. They only serve coffee with a drop of alcohol. Some employees mot even serve you the espresso with the drop of alcohol (you have to pay for it).
•Today is my 3rd day with diarrhea, and i am not the only one.
•Staff is a 3 star employee no more than that for sure.
•Room is pretty clean and bed is excellent.
•NO HOT WATER. If you take a shower water is more on cold side. I did Complaint already 2 times and still without hot water to take a shower.
•Buffets/a la carte dinners are always made from left overs from the previous day.

Tuve una experiencia espectacular en este hotel. Desde que llegamos, el servicio fue excelente y realmente hicieron que nuestras vacaciones fueran memorables. Quiero destacar especialmente a Rudy por su gran atención, profesionalismo y la manera en que siempre estuvo dispuesto a ayudar con una actitud positiva. Se nota cuando alguien disfruta lo que hace y se preocupa por los huéspedes.

También quiero reconocer a Baby Face, el animador de los shows, porque sinceramente llevó la diversión a otro nivel. Su energía, carisma y forma de interactuar con las personas hicieron que cada noche fuera súper entretenida. Gracias a él, los shows fueron de las mejores partes de nuestra estadía.

La pasamos increíble y definitivamente recomendaría este hotel a cualquiera que quiera disfrutar de buen ambiente, excelente servicio y unas vacaciones inolvidables. ¡5 estrellas bien merecidas!

First, the food was amazing as other reviewers have noted. If food is your thing, this is a great resort for you. We enjoyed food more than any other trip, although we traveled more for the expertise, which was overall good. The activities, amenities, and on resort options were confusing at times with the front desk communicating one thing, staff reporting another, and then at times there was no activity at all. The menus were sent via WhatsApp but turned out to be inaccurate (which really didn’t matter to us because all the food was amazing). Bar menus were not accurate either although there still were many options. Cleanliness throughout was fine enough. The “good” parts were made up for by the “amazing” food.

The language barrier made communication very difficult. We have a child with a severe allergy and getting clarification on the menu was near impossible. No hot water in our room the entire trip , room had horribly musty smell. The food was not very good. The staff communicates using “ what’s app”
However never responds. The front of the resort was in a very unsafe area. Will not return. The air conditioning in the “ gym” was broke the entire week and the temperature was 94 degrees. Very run down. Could be great. Coffee shop was good. The staff was friendly for the most part.

Our family just arrived back from Bakour after 7 nights.
Expedia did seem to have mixed reviews, but many positives so we took a chance. We arrived late in the evening after our flight was delayed. The front staff were very pleasant, but failed to mention many things to us, like the one restaurant (which they advertise as two - Asian and Italian) is adults only, so we were left to eat from the buffet the entire duration of our trip. It wasn't terrible as each day features different food, but you do get sick of eating at the same place over and over.

Once we got to our room, the sheets and pillows were just placed at the end of the bed like we had to make the beds ourselves. One of the pillows in the primary bedroom has blood on it. We were instructed to text a staff member with any concerns or needs as the phone lines do not work. Feeling frustrated after our first impression of our suite, we headed down to the buffet for a bite to eat as it had been a long day. When we came back, the beds were made, but they still used the bloody pillow and simply put a pillowcase on it. A few nights later I noticed someone's dried up contact lens stuck to the nightstand which led me to question how throughly they clean these rooms between guests.

One other thing we have never done experienced elsewhere was a large sign hung above the toilets instructing us to not flush ANY toilet paper.

We also never had hot water. It was either room temperature or cold.

Checked 48 hours before arrival with property to confirm reservation. They confirmed. Upon arrival, after traveling almost 12 hours, we were told that they had overbooked and we would need to spend the night at their sister resort. The manager kept telling us how great the sister resort was and that we probably would just want to stay over there and not come back to Bakour. He promised us a bottle of rum, romantic dinner on the beach for our anniversary, blah blah blah. When the driver dropped us at the sister property I really felt like I was in a third world country. The lights were flickering in the hallways. The room was filthy. Sink was stained and dirty. The shower had an old, maybe water hydrant for shower. Bed was not much better. Tv was mounted upside down. We were actually afraid. I texted Bakour and told them to pick us up at 0800 in the morning. They did but then it took most of the day to get into a room and we did not get the room we reserved. The room we had had a second bath and it had mold in the corners of the shower. There was mold and rot at the bottom of the door frames. We never got our romantic dinner. Only three food options each day. Beach has a lot of seaweed. Not a 5 star property for sure. Staff was amazing. Johanna In the Asian restaurant was exceptional. Nelson was amazing. Danny Boy you are awesome. But property definitely not a 4 or 5 star. Met other travelers that had the same issue. Seems like a case of the classic bait and switch.

The hotel receptionist did not provide any information about the hotel upon arrival. We had to visit the front desk to request pool towels and obtain basic hotel details. During checkout, we had to carry our luggage down two flights of stairs and walk to reception because no one responded to our request for assistance.

We stayed in Room 201-K, a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit. The furnishings were very simple, and the twin beds were quite uncomfortable. Upon entering the unit, there was a strong humidity odor, and there were many mosquitoes inside the room. No elevators.

The master bathroom consistently had a strong sewage odor, similar to untreated wastewater, which made it very unpleasant. Additionally, the glass shower door was not installed properly and swung from side to side, creating a safety hazard when entering the shower. I did report this issue during checkout.

The kitchen was not properly equipped; there were no basic supplies available, not even a kitchen towel. The Wi-Fi connection was extremely slow. The reception staff appeared very disorganized, and overall the unit felt outdated and in need of a full renovation.

Pros:The beach was nice, and the food was acceptable. The servers were very kind and attentive. The pool area was nice, although it was not as large as advertised.

Guests have the option to add an all-inclusive package or stay without it. spacious, large closets, good air conditioning, fans.

Pool was amazing with multiple bars close by. Beach is calm and relaxing with the swim with dolphins tour next door. Front desk staff, Seimy, Luis, and Nayrobie were amazing! Anna from buggy tours was so great too! Mr. Leandro and his restaurant staff were fantastic! I had the most amazing experience at this location. I visited other resorts when going on tour to pick up other groups and did not get the same good vibe as the Bakour Resort. Come here and enjoy this awesome view of Punta Cana.

Due to a flight cancellation, we had to find another hotel. Three couples, they arranged us to have a three bedroom suite with common area and to give us meals. It was only one day, but it absolutely serviced our needs.

Walk to the beach, kite surfers were entertaining. Dolphin Explorer is next door.

Food was buffet, but fairly fresh and hot. Bar drinks were excellent

Only downside is that our remote didn’t work, so struggled to get the olympics. But they sent someone up quickly (couldn’t easily fix). Not the end of the world though

We had 2 rooms- the one-bed room was great. The 3 room suite smelled musty. They ended up moving us to a different room and it was much better. The service was great- they try their best to make your stay good. Food and bars were good. The beach does not have a great swimming area but the beach itself is nice. We did not leave the resort or buy any trips although there are plenty of people that want to sell you trips.

This trip was meant to be a vacation, but instead it turned into an extremely distressing and unacceptable experience due to severe service failures and unsafe conditions at the hotel.
Despite booking one of the most expensive room categories, the hotel failed to provide even basic amenities and services as advertised. There was no safe in the room for the first two days, and when we complained, hotel staff responded rudely, stating that since the booking was made through Expedia, we should “complain to Expedia.” We were also told that if we did not leave the hotel immediately, no complaints would be considered, which felt like coercion.
We were traveling with a sick elderly father, who required his own room and private bathroom for medical and personal reasons. Due to financial limitations, relocating to another hotel was not possible. The hotel management showed complete disregard for his condition, which resulted in severe humiliation and distress.
Additional serious issues include:
No hot water during the entire stay
Extremely poor food quality, inconsistent with the hotel’s advertised rating
Almost no entertainment or activities (only 2 shows during an entire week)
Only 2 public toilets for the entire hotel
On the beach, there was only one restroom cabin, causing my elderly father to suffer multiple humiliating accidents while trying to reach our room
The “beach” was not a beach at all, but a rocky harbor area used for ships
Alcohol service was limited to local alcohol o

Cons AC doesn’t work in the bedrooms, had to be moved rooms 3 times due to things not working, was a big leak ect. This is no reflection on the staff they did everything they could quickly to make it right. I would have to say this comes down on the owner of the resort. There is NO evening entertainment even tho we were told when we got there that there would be. So for someone looking for a very quiet resort experience this would be the place. I personally wouldn’t stay again, just want to emphasize that the staff were amazing and were very accommodating in trying to ensure people where taken care of, I hope the owner of the resort takes care of all the rooms that have no AC in the bedrooms, living rooms it always worked. As well ans seeing the value of adding daily/nightly entertainment .Also only being able to get some hot water in the showers usually only worked in 1 out of the 2 bathrooms in the unit.

Our stay at Bakour Resort in Punta Cana was mixed. The resort is beautiful and the food was good — we never went hungry. Breakfast was the best meal (especially American food), and the pasta bar at lunch was excellent.
We went on two excursions. One was advertised as snorkeling but was not actually snorkeling; however, it ended up being our best experience because of the staff. Baby Monkey was amazing and made it fun — if you book an excursion, ask for him. The Saona Island excursion was disappointing. We spent about 6 hours in transportation, were only on the island for about 1 hour instead of the promised 2, the boat was overcrowded, and there was very little communication in English. We were also not told to bring money for drinks. The only positive was how beautiful the beach was once we arrived.

The resort staff overall were very kind. Saimy was our go-to and was great. The snack bar bartender and the woman at the front desk were wonderful. One waiter at the Asian restaurant was rude and unpleasant.

Unfortunately, several room and communication issues affected our stay. The hot tub didn’t work, our bedroom light switch was broken, some outlets didn’t work, our room wasn’t cleaned daily, there was no trash can, and room service didn’t include napkins. Information about activities and amenities existed but was not clearly communicated.

With better communication, excursion management, and room maintenance, this resort could be much better.

My family of five spent a week at Bakour and had a truly wonderful time. Check-in was quick and easy offering drinks on arrival for us and our children. Our room, while not perfect (bathroom door would not shut, old food left in microwave, no pull-out couch despite being offered in listing) was large and spacious, comfortably fitting us all, a rare find for a larger family. Beds were comfortable, balcony was stunning, no noise from neighbours, and cleaning staff was excellent for our entire stay. We even had a sick child one evening and were given extra cleaning support, which we greatly appreciated. The resort grounds are beautiful and extremely clean. The pool was never dirty. The beach loungers show some wear and tear, but we always had plenty of spaces available to us by the pool or on the beach. The food was very fresh, flavourful, and we were consistently given new options every day. The drinks were also excellent, not syruppy like other resorts, but tasting of fresh ingredients. The coffee bar was such a treat, equipped with an espresso machine and truly talented barista. We ate at the Asian themed restaurant one evening but we preferred the buffet. The REAL winner at this resort is the service. The staff are just so incredible, capable, helpful, kind. I could go on and on. My youngest felt so comfortable here, she cried upon departure lol Perhaps not a 5 star resort, but defintiely a 5 star experience.

My overall experience was great the food was amazing! Kimberly would worked front helped with my every need. My only dislike was at the beach people are able to sale things to you and will not leave you alone. They remember your face and say I’ll be back tomorrow if you change your mind. I just wanted to relax and enjoy the weather and the beach be those people selling things will even wake you up it was extremely annoying made me not want to go to the beach. Also the shower temperature was inconsistent first and last night was the only time I had an hot shower. Also the theme restaurants had extremely slow service I almost left a few time and go to the buffet instead for food. Those were my biggest issues other than that I had a great experience the food was lovely the scenery was night a relaxing. It was a nice relaxing resort and I’ll definitely be back!

Don’t waste your money -so disappointing!
the food is just about edible - you can get the basic drinks in all inclusive which are pretty good cocktails made well by the bar staff so can’t complain there.
Very basic amenities and food apart from that - told they didn’t have simple things sometimes like water in the afternoon at the pool bar, no pina colado, no ice cream. Asian restaurant is the best but others not worth attending. The sea isn’t blue like other areas around although it is peaceful and less busy on the beach just not pretty or clean. Half of the staff are lovely and the other half are rude and terrible. We booked here for a Christmas trip and almost moved it was so underwhelming. It is passable but if your expecting 5 star all inclusive resort - don’t book here, I’ve stayed in better 3* and hostels. Had to ask for the room to be cleaned on numerous occasions after coming back after 5pm room still wasn’t clean. The coffee shop guy is amazing big up Wilma also Oliver and luis at the bar were very polite attentive and helpful. Leonardo also stood out so helpful lovely and hard working. Also big shoutout to LeBron and rafael - these people made our stay the best it could be but they could only work with what they had.

The cleaning staff didn't come for the last 4 days of our trip, despite repeated requests. Also, the HVAC in our room froze and stopped working for 3 days. Another guest's room was burglarized by the cleaning staff, probably explaining why they weren't cleaning our room. We were promised compensation from the resort, which never materialized.

Won't go back, despite it being an attractive resort.

Overall my family and I had a great time while staying at Bakour Suites, but the resort definitely has some positives and negatives.

Positives:
I would give the food an \"OK\" rating. The buffet has standard resort-buffet fare and it was good. The specialty restaurants were ok. FYI the \"Asian\" and \"Italian\" restaurants are in the same building but change each day

The pool is great. The water was nice and the chair/umbrella setup seemed to work well. We typically walked out between 8 and 8:30AM and there were always chairs available. Bartender/Waiter Braulio (sp?) was great and worked hard bringing drinks to everyone throughout the day.

The entertainment staff was fun...\"Julio MC\" and a woman whose name I cannot remember did make an effort to interact with everyone.

Negatives:
Three main negatives...1.) The facility and rooms is/are in major need of repairs. we had a three bedroom suite with two showers...one of the showers had a broken handle and would not turn on. It was not fixed we let them know within the first hour we were there. The air conditioning randomly would stop and start working each day.
2.) The resort is VERY understaffed. I really felt like they need to double the amount of people working there. changing over tables in the buffet, room cleaning/fixing, and bartending service is very slow because of this.
3.) The beach at the resort is a small marina and not swimmable. You need to walk next door which isnt very far but slightly annoying

The amenities in the rooms could be nicer - the shower did not get warm and it just dribbled. But the mist disappointing thing for me was the beach in front of the hotel - the water isn’t blue - though it is elsewhere on the island. It’s right next to an eyesore tourist trap called Dolphin Exploer. And many ships dock in front of the hotel.

Bakour is a beautiful resort and location with wonderful staff, but not well kept. The rooms are not clean. We had two issues of leaking in bathrooms and had to be moved. Rooms clearly had a mold and mildew smell to them. Each unit has a hot tub, but none work. Had to request housekeeping come to our rooms in order to have our rooms cleaned and towels refreshed. We were offered something for our trouble, but all they wanted to give us was a bottle of wine that was already part of the all inclusive. The food is ok. Breakfast buffet is basic and same everyday. Lunch options at restaurant were awful. Dinners were good, but need reservations to enjoy.

Servers: Carlos, Johanna and Rafael were terrific! Joan in buffet was so kind! And the younger gentleman (can’t remember his name) making coffee at coffee bar every morning was so happy and lovely! All were very gracious and believe me when I say, if you are willing to tip it goes a very long way!

Upon check-in, the first impression was good: a huge loggia, a Jacuzzi, and a pleasant view. However, during the first day we discovered several issues. The Jacuzzi was not working, the window shutters would not rise, the hot water was barely warm, and the exterior door would not close, leaving no privacy on the loggia. When the Wi-Fi in the room went out and was not fixed until the evening, we asked to change rooms.
The second room was fine overall, except that during rain, water leaked under the front door and flooded half of the room. The hot tub does not have heated water and can only be used during the day to cool off from the heat; in the evening, the water is too cold to use.
It was also very unpleasant to see broken furniture lying in the hallway near our room and a garbage area in the neighboring storage room, the door to which was always open.
On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. There were algae on the beach, but the hardworking staff cleaned it daily, and our beach was one of the best compared to neighboring hotels.

Property overall was clean with nice rooms. Beach had murky water not very swimmable. Pool was nice but inconsistent with the drink service. Bar was only Classico for liquor. If you wanted anything else you had to pay. For example for vodka, Smirnoff, absolute or any low brands were not included there was an up charge. A few times I asked for a mixed drink and they were out of the liquor. There is one restaurant and one Buffett with limited options at the buffet. Staff and service overall was good outside of the reception area which had terrible customer service.

The first two days, we had no towels and I asked the front desk to send someone to get towels and they didnt come until 8 pm. The process of reserving the restaurant is complicated and only a few spots are open. There are barely any activities in the resort and the food is bland. I would not return to this location again.

So I could probably write a book about how terrible this place is. When we arrived we waited in the lobby for approximately 45 minutes. When I finally got to the front of the line I asked to speak to the manager because it’s ridiculous to be standing in the lobby for 45 minutes with no beverages offered to the guest. The answer I received was “well this just the way our check in process is” no resolution.

Once we got to the room at first glance it looked beautiful. However, as we settled in we realized that the place was NOT properly cleaned. The floors were greasy, there was hair in the shower, and the lint bin in the laundry room clearly hadn’t been changed in 10+ guest. The floors have cracks and discoloration in the bathroom. Hairline cracks in the bathroom mirror. Then we ordered room service and the dishes sat there for 2 days. Despite cleaning service coming to clean they never actually cleaned until our 2nd to last day. The lady came in with a simple garbage bag and picked up our trash then left.

Lastly, the food is horrible in the buffet. I’m from Chicago so I know good food and nothing about it was good. The only good food is the speciality restaurants. Fruit was not ripe. Rice not fully cooked. The care put into the food at the buffet is abominable especially considering how many people are back there cooking. Why no one is taste testing things before bringing them out I don’t know. I could keep going but I ran out of words. Don’t go.

DO NOT COME HERE they false advertising. The beach have seaweed piles pier left and right with a million boats on the middle you limited with a water access but you don’t want to go inn because all the boat is letting out a sewer water here. The Buffett is smaller than my kitchen at home. Food is limited and not fresh. Room is ok but not factional phones is not hooked up on the room you have to walk down 4 floor at a middle of the night if you need something from a front room service don’t speak any English. you got a jacuzzi on your balcony but only with cold water if you got a water in to maybe warm up with a weather is started to turn green after 1 hour. We left after 24 hour and paid for an other hotel Grand Princess Bavaro was great. This hotel don’t refund any money.
