The property was clean. The food was good, but had a little problem with the bathroom. My bathroom was leaking from upstairs for the entire 7 days that I stayed at the property, I reported it several times and nothing has been done. To the point where I stop reporting it. There Was staff at the Japanese restaurant That the check-in on the 11th of June She was so disrespectful and rude the funny part about it.I thought she just didn't like me, but I think it's a completion thing.Because two other persons of my complexion came there stood there for her to check them in and she didn't someone else came and she checked those other two person in the other two lady the other two ladies what's standing there asked me if I was check-in because they saw me waiting to the point where I felt like leaving before my 7 night ends. But I will not let that stop me from coming back to your property hope that person will never do it to someone else again.Because that's bad for business.We are money to enjoy your facility at the point in time, she did not have a name tag on.And I asked her, what's her name?And she refused to tell me, but couple days later, I saw her name.I just don't want to put it in the review, but you guys go.Check and you will know who work on that date

Normal family with 12 and 9 year old. The rooms are dirty, with strong mildew smell and hot. Bathroom showers are not graded properly so standing water after using. Dirty grout lines, broken toilet paper holder, the dead bolt lock on door broke right off. Bathroom door is barnyard where you have gap at either side so people can see and hear whatever is happening- no privacy. Bunk beds had clean sheets but the support holding them up were disgusting with dust and spilled drinks. Light switches did not work. Dirt,spit, spray all over mirrors. Small couch was torn and covered in spills and sticky stuff. Staff is a mix- some were nice and fun, others were very rushed, dismissive, confused. Restaurants book up 48 hours prior so mainly had to do buffet. Buffet is ok but stood in line for chicken and then was told chicken was out. Pizza at pool area was slow coming- they would set 5 pizzas out and families would take all and you would stand waiting in line for next batch just to watch next few families take it all. Waited 40 minutes in line for pizza. No explanation of amenities or activities- had to learn as we went and probably missed out on a lot. Vendors on beach harassing you. Garbage around resort that sat for days- condoms, tampons, bottles, bags of hotel linens. I was so upset that we came here and chose this resort. It was equivalent of a cheap motel that we spent thousands on.

The only thing was that the food quality and taste could’ve been much better at the restaurants. The buffet had better tasing food and better quality food than the restaurants. Overall, it was great!

Housekeeping was excellent. Coffee shop too far away from rooms. Too many screaming, jumping g kids at pool bar. Why when there is a bar at kiddie pool? Left 2 days in a row because of this. Pool tables, $5 a game. Ridiculous!!! Lobby bar staff was friendly and on the ball! Not enough entree choices in buffet. Specialty restaurants were very good. Beach was beautiful and well kept. Vendors were respectful.

Unfortunately we stayed at this hotel, family of 6. We stayed 6/8/26 to 6/12/26. My two children started to feel sick 6/11/26. Then the other two became to feel sick on 6/12/26. This is an all inclusive, the only place we ate and drank was here. We have since returned home and are all sick now on 6/16/26. I took my son to the emergency room it was so bad. They said it’s whatever he ate or drank because they can see the infection in his intestine. If you’re considering this place, don’t. Something is up with the food/water.

Rooms are outdated but fine. We have stayed in 3 different rooms and they all leak from the air conditioner (which runs all the time because it's always hot. lol) food is ok at the buffets. restaurant's are much better. steak at Steakville is like rubber(even the filet). Bartenders are awesome. They are the best part of the resort. always smiling and making you feel special. Hector on the family side is great. We also enjoyed Reynolda & Jessica at the family side swim up bar. For the price, this place is a must. just don't have 5 star expectations.

We have always had a great experience with Dominican people they are warm and welcoming. The resort is also family friendly, they had kids menu at restaurants, kids pool and pizza lunches. Common areas of the resort were always nice, clean, and maintained. Now for the con... Our room was not exactly as it appeared in the pictures. I feel the bedding and furniture can use an upgrade. But my main concern was the floor in our room was not regularly sweeped and cleaned. The resort also experienced some power outages during our stay. Rumor from people off the resort is that the outages are common and no other resort experiences these outages. Unfortunately I dont think our family will return to Catalonia in the future.

It was a beautiful property, plenty to do around the resort. Lots of activities to keep you busy. The food was amazing!

Some staff were nice and helpful. Check in process takes too long. Wifi unstable , lost it for two days in the room. Heard from others that their room did not have AC and the fan was not working. Need better quality entertainment evening shows as they are low quality. Cats all over the place including restaurants. Which I didn’t mind but they look not cared for. The beach looks like a lake with heavy rocks. Food mediocre. And the power went out. No variety of Dominican food even on Dominican night.

Really pretty property, however the front desk staff was ridiculously rude and useless. Ran into so many problems to which they refused to fix or look into. As for the buffet food it isn’t too bad, but make sure you’re there as soon as it opens or you’re running the risk of food poisoning which we all ended up getting. The propery is family friendly, has great entertainment, beautiful views, beautiful pool, beautiful beach. The biggest issues was the front desk staff. They also do not answer when you call so don’t waste your time just go to the front yourself. The rooms are not clean, the sheets are dirty, towels are dirty, dishes are dirty. Overall a beautiful place on the exterior. Much room for improvement.

Room smelled of mildew. Room flooded from a vent.
You had to have a reservation to every restaurant, which was crazy because they were only open from 6:30pm-10pm so they were booked before our arrival. From 3:30-6:30 every restaurant or buffet were closed so you couldn’t be hungry at that time. I ordered room services 2x online and it never came. I had to call them. Food was alright for dinner, but breakfast and lunch was hit or miss.

Cons: customer service at the front desk - AWFUL (they argued with me MULTIPLE times during my stay & check out process), food is repetitive and mediocre (5 out 7 got sick while there), kids club was extremely disappointing (Had a bucket of blocks in the room and not much else), hagglers at the beach and in common areas

All around a beautiful place but not anywhere id visit again. Mostly due to the lack of customer service and variety of food.

The property outside of our room was excellent including most of the staff at the pool side bar and restaurants. The issue was the room. It had a moldy odor, a large brown stain on the sliding door curtain. Clothing left behind a piece of furniture from the previous person. Sound of water running above the bathroom ceiling almost all night. They provide spring water in glass bottles which had multiple cracks in it. Remote for tv didn’t work. When we first got there we tried to call the front desk multiple times with no answer. Room service doesn’t answer. We also had someone introduce themselves to us and gave us his number upon arrival and said to reach out with any issues. The only thing he corrected was the remote and he didn’t even apologize for everything that was wrong that I notified him about in a text that I sent him. Power to our room was out for our check out. We showered to our phone light. The room was absolutely terrible. On top of all this they wanted to take us on a tour to see upgraded rooms to sell us about a membership upgrade. We did the tour and I explained to them the experience we were having and that I will not be interested in buying a membership. The best thing out of the tour was the free massage for my wife and myself and the free lunch. A person will probably need to pay for a much better room. They tried reaching out to us before we got there and again at the front desk during check in they asked if we wanted to upgrade now I know why.

From the moment I arrived at the Catalonia they made me fill like family. Fast check in, assistance to my room, concierge (Henry) assigned to my room. Room was very clean every day refrigerator stocked. Bathroom was very cleaned and new towels replaced everyday. All of the restaurants were good from the buffets to the à la cart. There was plenty activity and the beautiful clean beach that were steps away from the hotel. I had a wonderful time and I will definitely be back again soon.

We stayed in the Privileged deluxe suite and we loved the room! It was very modern and up to date and just so clean!! We had a spacious balcony with our own hammock. We got a mini bar included with our stay and was refilled when we were out. We stayed stocked on all amenities and have no complaints!! The resort was beautiful, so clean, the entire place was just so well kept. They had cats roaming around but they were all beautiful and so healthy-looking, and friendly. The food was always so good, we were lucky to have gotten amazing food every night. Drinks too! We had heard horror stories about getting sick but throughout the entire 7days we never had so much as a tummy ache! We did use water bottles to brush out teeth but that was more so as an extra precaution. The beach on the property was also really nice and relaxing, and they have it blocked so the waves don’t come in as strong so I felt comfortable with my kid playing a little deeper (he’s 13). I would recommend to book excursions through them, as outside companies might not have the security clearance to pick you up from the lobby, so you might have to do the walk to the main front which is a good 10-12mins lol. But Overall we all agreed to come back next year for our vacation!!

I had a very good experience at this resort in the Dominican Republic. The place is beautiful, very clean, and well connected with nature. The atmosphere is relaxing, and you can tell they pay attention to details. There are plenty of activities for both adults and kids, which makes it perfect for families. I traveled with my four children, and they had an amazing time throughout the stay.

The kids’ daycare was outstanding (10/10). My 5-year-old absolutely loved it—he spent about 3–4 hours a day there for several days and enjoyed every moment. The staff were kind, attentive, and did a fantastic job organizing activities. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

The pool area was great, with very good service and food—especially the pizzas. Overall food was about 8/10, but the Spanish restaurant was a 10/10—great seafood skewers, steak, and an incredible empanada.

Upon arrival, one front desk staff member seemed a bit rude, which gave a bad first impression, but service improved afterward.

Some areas need improvement: the crepes stand staff were not friendly, the craft vendors were too pushy, and many arcade machines didn’t work properly or had issues with coins.

One important note: early Sunday morning (around 8 AM), lawn maintenance machines were extremely loud. This should be scheduled later, as it disrupted rest.

Overall, a great family experience that I would recommend.

The resort was beautiful, very family friendly. It was my kids first time and they loved it. The rooms were okay, the staff did take a while to deliver towels. We stayed as privileged guests and they did not deliver the beach towels the first day or any day as it said, we had to get it ourselves. The small fridge was only filled if we requested not when they cleaned as said. We mainly ate at the buffet area because it was better for the kids, more variety. The main thing I did not like about that was that other guests let their kids touch the food/dessert and put it back almost like playing with it. That was nasty. I wish the staff told them something. The other restaurants you need to reserve days ahead because it filled up so quick so we wasn’t able to enjoy any of it. Overall, the entire resort, beach, pool, shopping area, gaming area, and bars were very nice and the staff were super helpful. I would definitely come back next year with my family.

Our stay at this resort was nothing short of amazing!! The staff is definitely the highlight of the stay as they are all extremely friendly, warm, welcoming and attentive. The resort itself is beautiful and has everything you would need to have a fabulous time with your family! The animation and entertainment team were super fun and engaging and the food was delicious. Will definitely recommend and we will for sure come back! Had a great time at Catalonia!

This resort is the worst that we have ever stayed at. Aside from maybe a couple of staff members that are actually nice and friendly, all other staff members from management to those that clean the bathroom are the most miserable people I have ever met. Nobody says hi when they walk by you. Most of the time, I have to make way for them to past and not even a thank you. This is nothing to do with the language! Food is boring with very little selection. I have been going to Dominican annually for 20 years and have stayed at different resorts. I know what having good food is like. We were reprimanded by the towel guy on our first day that we can't change our towels more than once per day!!!??? Really???? Pool was nice...HOWEVER, we were being asked to get out of the pool one day because they needed to do some kind of training for their employees. It was about an hour early in the morning which we were fine to do. Then they came back in the afternoon and just took over the pool for hours and on. I am the paying guest. I pay the hotel to stay at the hotel and use the pool as I please. It is ridiculous that they would even ask for their paying guests to get out of the pool and inconvenience the payment guests so that they can train their staff in the pool for lifeguards...by the way. I would not want these guys around when I'm drowning because by the time they get to me, I'll be dead! The resort didn't give anyone any warnings that this was going to happen.

I am writing to provide comprehensive feedback regarding my recent stay at your establishment. While I must commend the commendable upkeep and cleanliness of your property, several aspects of the service delivery regrettably fell short of expectations, significantly impacting my overall experience.
Throughout my visit, I encountered persistent difficulties in obtaining timely and effective assistance. Despite multiple visits to the lobby to address various concerns, there was a consistent impression of unresponsiveness and a lack of follow-through on promised resolutions. This pervasive communication gap and the perceived unwillingness of some staff members to proactively resolve issues were a source of considerable frustration.
Specific operational deficiencies further contributed to my dissatisfaction. Upon arrival, the in-room telephone was non-functional and, despite being reported, took three days to be rectified. More significantly, the refrigerator in my room remained inoperable for the duration of my stay, presenting an ongoing inconvenience that was never addressed. Additionally, housekeeping services were inconsistent; on one occasion, dirty towels and glasses were removed from the room but were not replaced, necessitating further requests on my part.A particular instance highlighting these service challenges involved a request for ice delivery. I was informed that I would need to wait in my room for an unspecified period, with no estimated delivery time.

My family and I had an amazing stay. We were there five nights. We enjoyed the food , drinks and entertainment. My daughter and grandkids stayed in the pool the majority of the time. The check in and out was fast. All of the staff was great and Leonardo ( DiCaprio) :) was amazing .

No beach towels for 3 days as they were out. Waited for 20 minutes for bellhop when we arrived at midnight. Finally we walked to find our own room in the pouring rain.

We chose this hotel to celebrate my son’s 10th birthday and my daughter’s 5th birthday, but the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

The room had a strong, unpleasant smell that never went away. The condition of the room was unacceptable, several floor tiles were cracked, the bathroom appeared poorly maintained, and some ceiling panels looked loose and were falling down, which felt unsafe, especially with young children. The overall cleanliness and maintenance were far below expected standards.

We requested a room change due to these serious issues, but the hotel denied our request. This showed a clear lack of concern for guest comfort and safety.

To make matters worse, the front desk reception staff were rude and unhelpful. The overall customer service throughout our stay was poor and unprofessional. Instead of feeling welcomed or supported, we felt dismissed.

This trip was meant to be a special celebration for our children, but it ended up being a very frustrating and unpleasant experience. I would not recommend staying here unless major improvements are made to both the facility and customer service.

Well maintained grounds, clean, bright and spacious. Rooms clean and roomy, restocked daily. Breakfast at the buffets were the best meals.. other meals and a la cartes fair. Plenty of options..Book à la cartes early, they fill up quickly. Most staff friendly…Martina and Juliette (with baby) at beach buffet went over and above!
Pool unsupervised, children running and jumping from ledges in middle of pool, could easily have slipped and got injured. (No life guards visible)
Large group of college boys loud and obnoxious, no regards for others. Pool bar playing Latin music, they had Bluetooth speaker blaring over the top. I was glad my stay ended when it did!

I liked the beach area, there were always enough chairs to find a spot. We also loved the snorkeling at the sand bar and long walks along the shore where it felt more natural and undisturbed.

First we were checked in a horrible room. Moldy bathroom, broken stained mirror, peeling paint on walls,doors, ceiling. I've asked the front desk for another room,which I got the next day. Compared to the 1st one, looked like night and day. Beautiful property,amazing access to the water off the beach. Seaweed was cleaned 2x a day. Beach is ideal for swimming. Food at buffet ok. They could improve picking up trash from lawns, shrubs, beach. Little pieces of food/papers/bottles would stay in place for days. Annoying staff offering hotel/club membership every day.
