My wife and I stayed at Serenade All Suites – Adults Only Resort from January 27 to January 30, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing.

During our stay, my wife’s Gold earrings, Pandora bracelet, and a few other small jewelry items went missing from our room. What makes this even more concerning is that these items were kept inside the room safe, which should be a secure place for guests to store valuables. After returning home from the trip, we also discovered several fraudulent charges on our credit cards, which made the situation even more alarming.

We reached out to hotel management hoping they would take the matter seriously and help investigate. Unfortunately, their response was very delayed and they were not helpful at all. Communication was slow, and we felt like our concerns were not treated with the seriousness they deserved.

Aside from this major issue, the overall experience at the resort was not impressive. While the property looks nice visually, that’s about the only positive thing we can say. The food was very poor, especially the buffet, which lacked flavor and variety. There were very limited restaurant options, and even those did not offer much selection.

On top of that, many of the employees seemed uninterested in interacting with guests. Basic hospitality like greeting guests with a smile or showing enthusiasm was largely missing.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and I would not recommend staying at this resort.

I loved my stay here. I went solo and felt safe the entirety of my stay. The staff was lovely and the entertainment staff made a real effort are making connections with guests and making the experience enjoyable. The bar staff was excellent and drinks were good. The beach was perfect right off the resort. Hibachi restaurant was delicious. My room was very clean and house cleaners came each day. Very pretty resort. I would recommend!

First of all I have enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. I had a great 7 days of relaxation and rest.
The positives:
The Hotel itself was of a good standard. We had a mater suite which included a separate bedroom and two shower rooms. Also included was the hot tub on the balcony. I recommend this package that includes the “Elite” status as you have the exclusive access to one pool which means a far less crowded experience. Also with the Elite package you get a Butler to help you and access to a rooftop bar and elite pool.
Food
The breakfast buffet in the “Market” was as good as any I’ve had.
The restaurants were overall ok . The best meal we had was in the Palapa , good portions and pretty tasty, the food could have been hotter.

Drinks
No issues here.

Service
On the whole it was good , a bit hit and miss at times but staff did try and were friendly. The drinks service at the pools was nice.

Amenities
The pools were excellent, very clean and warm too.
Gym: appeared to be pretty good from what I saw.
We spent most of our time enjoying the pool and sunbathing, hardly went to the beach but it was very nice.

The not so good:
Maintenance was an issue , our sink faucet was loose, I mean hanging off loose but because we had 3 sinks I never bothered reporting it. There were 2 AC units that were very good but unfortunately on the last night one of the started leaking water and brought down a ceiliing panel.

Overall 4* not 5, due to maintenance and food not quite there .

My recent stay at Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort in Punta Cana was extremely disappointing and far below what was advertised on Expedia. From the moment we arrived, there were numerous issues with the property that significantly impacted our stay.

First, there were serious problems with basic room utilities, including inconsistent running water and malfunctioning air conditioning. These are essential services that any hotel should provide, especially at a resort marketed as a luxury all-inclusive property. The lack of reliable water and AC created uncomfortable and at times unsanitary conditions in the room.

Additionally, there were multiple safety and maintenance concerns throughout the property. For example, lounge chairs near the pool had exposed or broken metal that created a risk of injury. Elevators were frequently out of service in several buildings, which made navigating the property difficult and inconvenient.

Service at the resort was also extremely poor. Requests for basic items or assistance were often ignored, and staff frequently failed to follow through when something was requested. On one occasion during lunch, a restaurant host noticed that we never received our drink order and assured us it would be brought out, but it never arrived. Unfortunately, this type of experience was common during the stay.

The pool was good, there were 2 of 3 available - one is elite only.

Buffets were ok. The buffet on the kid friendly side was much better. The steak house was great. The Mexican place? The hamburger bun was so hard I couldn’t even cut through it. The sides were stale and couldn’t bite through the onion rings, fries .. weren’t good.

The customer service was horrible. Check in process was painful. We’re arrive at 345 and check in time is 3. Our room “wasn’t ready” and we were forced to talk to someone for 20 min about purchasing dinner on the beach, spa treatments etc until it was “ready”. Didn’t give us passes for towels had to go back. And when we did they spent 15 min talking to each other before asking “what I needed” housekeeping took our towels and didn’t replace them. Called twice and went down and didn’t receive any towels till following day.

We had a swim up room it was nice, but the over all condition of the hotel is old. The doors don’t shut. There are motion sensors in the rooms…. There was a leak in our room constant wet floors. I wouldn’t come back here at all.

Out of all the activities they said they offered they only did 2 out of 9.

We enjoyed our time here. The property was clean. The beach was clean with very little seaweed and the pool was very close. We enjoyed our day half at the pool and then at the beach. The staff was friendly and overall the food was good. We would stay again.

Sometimes it did seem like you were bothering them but, if you try with them their mood will pick up.

The place was very clean the beach was picked up after everyday.
They are organized with entertainment scheduling and what they put on for the staff.

Misleading “5-Star” Experience – Very Disappointing Stay

I booked Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort specifically because it was recommended to me through Expedia as part of my Gold member benefits. The listing promoted incentives such as a $500 resort credit, complimentary room upgrade (pending availability), and late checkout (pending availability). Unfortunately, my experience felt extremely misleading and disappointing from start to finish.

First, the check-in process was completely disorganized. We arrived in the Dominican Republic around 12:00 PM and did not receive our room until nearly 7:00 PM, which is unacceptable for any resort claiming to be 5-star. The staff did not properly explain the property, how to make restaurant reservations, restaurant hours, or even simple things like needing towel cards to access pool towels. As a result, we spent much of the trip confused and trying to figure things out ourselves.

During our stay, I noticed a clear difference in treatment between guests. Many Caucasian travelers received full tours of the property and more attentive service, while we were not offered any guidance at all. This left us feeling overlooked and unwelcome.

The food was by far the worst part of the experience. The resort focuses on quantity instead of quality. Much of the food appeared recycled between meals, and many items that should have been hot were served cold. Even freshly fried items such as calamari came out cold. Several restaurants required

This resort is beautiful! The rooms were huge, the decor is exactly what the pictures look like. The staff madebsure our room was clean and well stocked everyday. Also, if you declined housekeeping earlier you can request it 24hrs a day. Room service was a plus, the woukd come in 30 mins or less with whatever you order. The bar staff was fun and always had a recommendation for a tasty drink. The pools all of them we well maintenanced and there was a pool staff activity team that was awesome. Shark and the rest of his team made everyone feel welcome into all of the activities. We had a great time. We didn't use the spa. We only had one problem, our toilet jammed uo but, it was a easy fix. We put in a maintenance order via the hotel app. They came within 20 mins and fix the problem. I thought that spoke volumes of the way this hotel take care of its guests. Lastly, every buffet was clean and items were replenished quickly. You can order food from the chefs any way you would like. They took care of us even when we had no tips. They treated us tge same. With that being said please tip the staff. They are well worth it!!!! I would recommend this resort to everyone, families also. We would definitely stay here again. THANKS

There are pros and cons. First, the pros: Our room was very nice, with a big shower, a tub, and large balcony. It was very close to everything. The pools were great. This is a great place for a quiet, adults-only pool experience next to the pool bar and restaurant, La Palapa, which has great food. The buffet food was excellent with nice variety. We didn't spend any time at the beach but it looked nice despite lots of seawood by the water. Now for the cons, and by the way we are not really picky people: This property has the feel of a slightly old hotel with a big pool and free food and drinks. There isn't much in the way of landscape and gardening to walk through and enjoy. Our biggest complaint is about much of the staff not seeming to understand or care about customer service at all. Example 1: At the pool bar, if you like daquiris, you never know what you'll get - terrible to great, made differently every time, sometimes wondering what drink it really is. If you want friendliness and service, you'd better be tipping. Example 2: At the buffets, they do the bare minimum and are thrown for a loop by anything unusual. I joined my wife for breakfast 15 minutes after she went, and they didn't seem to understand I might want coffee and water and silverware as well. At a buffet dinner we asked for Diet Cokes. After asking three more times, we finally got them with some attitude near the end of our meal. This place is just okay, and we won't be returning.

The room was very nice, and we were upgraded to a swim out pool room, excellent! The other pools were nice but you have to have a token for towel, not provided, all chairs were reserved but most not occupied. Reservations for the restaurants were to be made at the front desk but no one there, they would not accept a reservation at the restaurant and the reception person at the steak restaurant was very unhelpful. The house wine was almost undrinkable, you have to pay extra for an average wine at high prices. Positive - good cocktails made with care, good buffet breakfast. Overall, would not stay again.

Beautiful spacious room with large balcony overlooking the pool. The cleaning staff did a fantastic job on our room daily. Great views. Loved the rooftop pool (although it could have been better maintained).
My lower rating for the property is general maintenance, staff, and food. If you call yourself a 5 star resort there are expectations. Our biggest issue was staff (with the exception of a couple employees). The entire time we were there we felt like an imposition. We had multiple meals without drinks (it actually became a joke between us). The crew handling the pool entertainment we unprofessional and unmanaged (getting drunk with the guests during work, sitting on laps). They were also known to grab phones, as for ‘googly’ and create their own reviews for the resort.

Our experience at Serenade All Suites was far from the luxury stay advertised. From broken amenities to dismissive service, it was a constant struggle.
Maintenance Failures: Our toilet stopped working, the room smelled of mildew, and the TV was broken. Our room keys deactivated three times; the manager's excuse was that they \"reset every three days,\" which is a ridiculous inconvenience for long-term guests.
Ruined Birthday: I paid for a specific birthday setup (green/white). They used the wrong colors (yellow/gold) and set it up hours before the 3 PM start time, completely spoiling the surprise. Management was incredibly rude about it, mocking the idea that an early cake ruins a surprise.
Service & Housekeeping: Despite daily requests, our room was never cleaned on time. Furthermore, the resort app caps dining reservations at two, forcing you to waste time begging staff for more.
The Only Positive: Almost every manager dismissed us. The only person who cared was Yoselin Ramirez. She was sweet, professional, and the only reason we felt heard. Thank you Yoselin! You truly are the best!

Everything at Serenades Adult was great. Little bit of seaweed, but not overwhelming. Food was decent, (the sushi and steakhouse we enjoyed) rooms were very large. (Had a ground floor ocean view with private pool). 2 pool areas, 1 with more of a party vibe, another more relaxing. Beach early in the am was great. Recommend getting up early (before 8a) to claim your beach spots. Great morning sunrises! Staff was friendly to us and accommodating with anything we asked. Well worth it, would recommend and go back again.

Stayed 5 nights. First 3 days/nights were good. On the 4th day I had to put in multiple maintenance requests for the ceiling leaking water, ceiling falling apart, and the front door not shutting and/or locking properly.

After maintenance completed the request and “fixed the door” it was still broken. You had to physically slam the door shut using a decent amount of strength. The maintenance crew member shows me this and I understood.

However, when housekeeping would enter the room, they were unaware after they left my room they had to “slam the door hard” as the maintenance guy had mentioned to me resulting in my door being open and unlocked for anyone to come in and go as they please.

Some petty cash was stolen out of my room in result to this.

Overall the resort was nice. There were three (3) good size pool areas and a decent beach space, however they needed more chairs, if you weren’t out there by 8 am you weren’t getting a chair. The pool closest to the beach had a few issues: there was a 8” hole (surfacing chipping away) and a hot tub area that didn’t work. The resort was beautiful, clean and well-maintained. The service we received from check in onward was professional and helpful. We had access to the family-friendly side of the resort as well which provided many options for swimming, relaxing, bars and restaurants. The entertainment staff were enthusiastic, the poolside and piano bar staff were excellent. We enjoyed our meals at each restaurant we visited and a few room service breakfasts. There was an app to organize events and dining reservations, which was at times vague in locations of the activities or difficult to navigate. We otherwise enjoyed our stay

The resort is beautiful and clean. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The room doors did seem very flimsy, but we never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. The staff was a mix of friendly and indifferent. The resort is quiet, the family side has a lot of the loud music and party atmosphere. We were a party of 4; and all agreed it was difficult to find food we liked on the buffets. Made to order Omelette's everyday with a few sides for breakfast and we were satisfied. Most people seemed to be enjoying the buffet food, so it's really dependent on what kind of food you like. There's tons of food and I'm sure something for everyone. The steakhouse was good and Koi Hibachi was my favorite; unfortunately we ate there the last night or we would have eaten there nightly.

The ocean had quite a bit of seaweed during our stay. The staff worked hard to clean it up, but there was just a lot of it. We ended up walking a short distance down the beach from the resort and found the clear, beautiful water we expected.

Expedia had a seperate room for check-in where we met Chey who checked in with me everyday as well as sending activities daily. She fulfilled requests (more bottled water) quickly. She even got us in a booked restaurant, she's delightful. The 500 credits were useless for us as were not interested in any offerings they could be applied to.

Overall other than the food we had a great stay and met lots of nice people.

The finishes in the room were substandard. Tiles are ungrounded doors and frames not properly installed as well the paint on the walls looked like it was applied by a child.

The room was very large but falling apart in areas. The tiles chipping and the walls/door falling off.
The staff was very friendly, however, if you have a food allergy such as Celiac Disease, I wouldn't recommend this resort. No one really understood what it meant (even though I was given a letter to present at each restaurant from the front desk), I was even served a meal at the Steakhouse that not gluten free at all. Took me quite a while to find a staff member to exchange my meal for me.
If you want a spot at the pool, you will need to be up at the crack of dawn to save a chair (that isn't supposed to be allowed). Otherwise, your only chance is to hang out in the pool and hope someone leaves when you can run to grab before someone else.
If you like the beach, it is beautiful and clean and you can always find a chair to lounge in on the beach.
My stay was not horrible, but I will not be returning to this resort.

Restaurant service is where this hotel was lacking compared to other all inclusives in the area. Long waits once being sat at restaurants, long waits for drinks and food in some of the restaurants. All in all, very good just not great.

Everyone was very friendly from the beginning to the end of our stay. The app was not overly helpful and could use some upgrades, as it kept failing. I don’t like that they limit you per stay to how many restaurant reservations you can make and then have to go to the buffet. All the restaurants were very good. We should be able to eat at family side restaurants too. Some people found a loophole to that. We did not. Poolside service was excellent. It was very pretty and clean. We did the swim out poolside room and it was well worth it! Lack of entertainment past water aerobics for 20 minutes every day. Entertainment crew was always walking around, but could have facilitated water volleyball and other poolside activities throughout the day. If they were having activities they were not advertised anywhere…unlike the family side. The nightly entertainment we saw was good, but it was just a matter of catching it as it was never advertised on a board or the app. Lack of entertainment during the day made it boring. That can make a big difference in your stay. The resort is absolutely beautiful and easy to navigate.

The room was dated, the shower would scald then freeze you and it had mold in every crevice. The tv did not work the 1st day. The Expedia gold status meant nothing to this resort. Check in was a joke and we were left on our own to find our way around. This was not a five star resort! I called Expedia for help, the rep called the hotel and couldn’t get anyone to answer and said with situations like this all he could do was give me a 5 percent future credit and left it at that.. this trip was for my wife’s birthday and I was very disappointed overall!

It was in good condition. Staff very nice but our room never seemed to get cleaned on a schedule. Sometimes it was 9am and then at 4pm. Some kind of consistency would have been nice so we could go back to the room knowing it was cleaned.

Shower had draining issues which were not really taken care of when maintenance was contacted. Also no plug for the tub so that could be used. Limited dining on wednesdays and make sure you use the reservations sparingly as there’s only two for out four night stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights in Feb of 2026. The resort grounds were nice and the beach was also nice. There is a decent amount of seaweed washing up every day, but the crew cleans it consistently. The food at this resort was the worst part by far. There was not a single place we ate that was good and we are not picky eaters.

The hotel and grounds are clean, there was some minor maintenance needed in the rooms and grounds. The food was decent we had some disappointments with some of the dishes but all in all the food was good. The only recommendations I would make to the resort is to have a better room service menu, very few options. The beach was kept pretty clean. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Good resort if you are looking for a quiet retreat.

We had a swim out room and it was great, room was clean and big. Only complaint was that it seemed the resort was under staffed at the restaurants and the food particularly at the steak was well below acceptable (people in our party had to send our steaks back a couple of times due to being undercooked despite showing and telling the servers what we wanted)...other issue was that our transportation from the airport and back was not included in the Expedia package (to our surprise) and this information was not disclosed on their website, so be aware when booking.

When we first arrived we were escorted to the Elite Lounge due the room we had chose. They brought us drinks while waiting to be checked in . Once they got ready to check in we were informed that we wouldn’t get the room we paid for which was the master suite room with the butler because it wasn’t ready. Instead they said we could get the junior swim out room which we refused because that’s not what we wanted. They said they wouldn’t give money back if we did get the lesser room either. Eventually after I asked for a receipt saying I would be receiving what I didn’t pay for then , they all of a sudden had a room. We was escorted to a room which wasn’t intended for us because someone else name was on the welcome screen on the tv. We never received a butler as promised nor a welcome gift as told. No one came to ever check on us at all. The resort was nice as well as not bad food options but , CUSTOMER SERVICE was HORRIBLE . One thing I never forget is how someone made me feel. I think if we would’ve accepted the lesser room maybe they would’ve cared more but i wasn’t taking nothing I didn’t pay for & plus we wouldn’t even got the new room to 4pm the next day which was unacceptable.

We heard a lot of mixed reviews about this place and got worried after booking. We had a wonderful time. Yes, some areas could use a little facelift but generally speaking it’s beautiful. It’s a smaller resort so easy to get around. The food was very decent. Good little vibe. Perfect for a little holiday in the sun!
