I was waiting the time to leave!

Unfortunately i booked a non refundable rate (I prepaid from hotels.com) and i couldn't leave the day day after my arrival (I atrived at almost 4am, I contacted the support at 5am or even earlier).

I called and asked before booking if they have a reception at my arrival time. They have a small desk with 2 guys changing shifts and none of them speaks English. One night they came to my room at 00:30 JUST to show the room to a lady!!! I was sleeping obviously, they woke me up and i was scared inside my room l

My stay at Suites Rio Elba was less than ideal.
The persistent door-knocking was an unwelcome interruption, and the receptionist's constant financial concerns created an uncomfortable atmosphere. The two-week stay was marred by NO AC, non-functional INTERNET and room phone, making communication impossible. The only saving grace was the dedicated cleaning and security staff and the location.
A reconsideration of management practices might improve the overall guest experience at this establishment. (The woman in reception)
Avoid this place; it's a nightmare!!!
And complaining will cause the receptionist lady saying:
We don’t want you here, literally telling me to go??
There’s no one else who to talk to other than her unfortunately

The location of this facility is very convenient to the park and museums. The walk is fairly level and easy to stroll to nearby coffee shops and restaurants. The rooms are very quiet. Never heard anyone else in the building even though they were there, judging by the garbage left out on pick up day. Daily maid service and fresh towels, fully furnished kitchen plus twice the square footage of the average hotel room included. Maintenance a little wanting but easy trade off for all the pluses. Would stay again.

Very very nice and sparkling clean hotel close walking distance to Chapultepec metro station. I got to airport and took metro station all the way to the hotel for 50 pesos. Hotel has convenience store, pharmacy, Krispy Kreme, many food vendors a minute away. Walking distance to páseo de la reforma and Angel de la independencia. Suite had clean towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap, warm water. My own fridge, microwave, ironing board, coffee machine with coffee kit, electronic safe. Neighborhood is very safe and quiet during the nights your able to get a great night sleep hotel has 24 hour security surveillance system plus door man that guards entrance. It doesn’t have AC but nights are very chilly due to elevation 7,200 feet above sea level so you won’t need one really but room did have a fan. This is my 2nd time staying here and will definitely continue to stay here since their personnel and staff are very warm, friendly and welcoming. It also has an open terrace on the 4th floor with a gym for exercising. What I love about this hotel is that it is very modern with an elevator it also has parking garage for your cars. Thank you Rio Elba Suites for making me feel at home.

The reception and doorman staff should be more friendly. It is really uncomfortable to enter and leave. Our room on the roof seemed like a service room for the cleaning staff. The location of the suite is good but the attention to guests leaves much to be desired. They need to pay more attention to the details and give the extra mile. Not coming back.

This is a great place to stay when you are traveling on a budget but want more than the amenities offered by a hostel. The concierge is very friendly and accommodating. The room was respectably clean and it was not to have a fan for sleeping on warmer nights. The hotel finishes are somewhat cheaply made (i.e. lightweight doors, chipped molding) but the room and building remained quiet. The location is very aesthetic with large trees and felt very safe and clean. I would definitely stay here again!

If you want cheap, you have it. Like the customer service people for this web site.

Typical cheap hotel: Not as nice as picture implies, no sign on building or doorway (just the address - look for Krispy Kreme next door), damage to cabinets, towels that good hotels would discard (noticeably frayed, but decent in softness, weight and absorbability), absurd electrical options (no plug near bed for phone or laptop), HORRIBLE lighting (don't expect to read in the bathroom or in bed) Not good for wheelchairs - steps to deal with.

Best to open main room window if you take hot showers, as the exhaust fan will not keep windows and mirror next to windows from fogging (the only mirror with good light -- if there is daylight!)

Not a great neighborhood, unless you want low-end exploration (lots of street food close by!) Better areas are within waling distance. I consider this a better area than Doctores.

Clean but old. VERY Good WiFi that does not require multiple log-ins the way my last hotel (Andrade) required ad nauseum. I was able to access WiFi from outside the hotel. Nice enough staff, but no English. Nice view.

I didn't see a thermostat, so no climate control. Big electric fan was in closet for warmer days. The natural temperature was great during my stay.

Easy, cheap improvements:
--Hooks/knobs on the wall to hang a jacket, purse, etc. .
--Add an extension cord to the bed lamp plug (I couldn't find it because of mounted headboard, but there was a bedside lamp.)

Good location for travelers, bare bones room with bad smells

This is a bare bones hotel. It was very inexpensive, which is why we chose it, but I would recommend spending a little more to stay somewhere nicer. Our room and especially our bathroom smelled bad - mildewy or possibly moldy. They were also weirdly stingy with toilet paper. There wasn't any in the bathroom when we arrived, although we did find some elsewhere in the room (outside the bathroom). They didn't replace it even when it was running low, AND when we asked for more, they seemed unhappy about it. This was a gastrointestinally challenging trip and we really needed toilet paper!

If I were to travel to CDMX again I would definitely want to go a little more upscale than this to ensure better customer service and avoid the bad smells.

I will say the location was a pretty good one. Many travelers stay in condesa or Roma but we actually liked this location since it was pretty central to the different areas we explored - Centro, condesa, polanco, chapultepec park. Good launching space for walking around. But choose a different lodging.

The location was convenient and the room was big however I strongly don’t recommend this hotel:
1- The is no hotel sing outside of the building
2- You should always call the security to come to the door and open the door (the security always sleeping)
3- the room was super dirty and smell soooo bad! The bathroom smell terrible which we had to keep the fan on
4- there was only two small pillows in bed and after asking for more pillows they only gave us ONE smaller pillow! I don’t get it!!
5- They don’t give you new towels! After asking multiple times, we only got one clean towel

A solid, inexpensive, good location stay

The street might look a bit sketchy, but the location is really ideal. It's on the corner of Calle Río Lerma which has a ton of restaurants, Paseo Reforma is a 1 minute walk away, and there are 3 convenience stores less than a minute walk. There was no hot water in the sink, but the shower was fine. The room was very cool, and there is no temperature control. I loved sleeping in the cold, but wish there was some heat in the mornings for showers, etc. Bring a sleeping mask if light bothers you: light under the door, light on the tv (though the tv is off), light from a bathroom window, etc. And there is very poor lighting in the bathroom, making it tough to shave (along with the cold water). Overall the place is clean and fine, but doesn't look as great as the photos. Staff were kind and helpful.

At this price range couldn't have asked for anything more. Though absent of luxuries, the hotel was clean, bed was extremely comfortable (a must for me!), TV and channel offerings was awesome, and yes, high-speed, reliable internet. Note that front door is locked after hours. You'll need to ring the intercom to have the door man let you in. Great from a security perspective though some may find it a bit different, vs. many other hotel. Closing by giving kudos to Suite Rio Elba! Really enjoyed the stay.

Rio Elba Suites was perfect for the purposes of my trip: I was staying in Mexico City for 2 week sabbatical studying spanish, going to the gym, finding great food and seeing the sights. I chose the executive suite. It was nicely apportioned with great rooms, living room, kitchen/dining, study and nice sized bedroom. The place was spotless. The bed was comfortable. This is NOT the Ritz though. It is a great 3 star accommodation, centrally located in a very safe, well travelled area. Plenty of food options nearby. My only problem the entire time was the very spotty internet connectivity. I suggest you make alternative arrangements if you must have access. Additionally there is no AC. This wasn't a problem for me as the temps in Mexico City in the evening were typically in the 50s/60s. If there are hot nights it might be a problem. Thanks for a great stay!

Great location and close to subway line. The apartment was clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen part was ok but lacked essentials such as bottle opener or kettle. The overall apartment felt a little damp and cold, manifested by towels not drying after a day, still feeling cold and damp. Could’ve used a heater in the colder months of winter here in Mexico. No view out of the window either, having curtains closed otherwise people would see directly in. If location is your most important factor then go for it, otherwise I’d suggest looking for other options. Check in and security is great!

Weird situation with room key but good hotel.

I found this hotel great on all fronts except for a strange issue with room keys. The layout of the rooms is that you enter a door that leads onto a short hallway with a door to the bedroom and a separate door to the bathroom. When I checked in, I was given a key for the outer door and a key for the bedroom. The manager indicated which was which so I assumed it was ok to lock the bedroom door and the outer door both when I left to go out. The first issue happened the first evening when I walked out of the room to go out for dinner and locked the bedroom door on my way out. I instantly realized I had left the keys inside the room. I went down to the front desk and asked for a key to open the door to get my keys. Long story short, I was told there was no other key for the door! I had the sole key! In the end, a locksmith was called who picked the lock and I had to pay him 150 pesos! The next day I left with my keys in hand and locked the bedroom door and outside door. When I returned, I unlocked the outside door but the key that was supposed to be for the bedroom didn't fit! I went down and told the front desk. This time the hotel maintenance man was there and he took 45 minutes of fiddling to pick the lock. Then and only then was I told to only lock the bedroom door when I was in the room and use a key for the outside door! Why was I given a key for the bedroom door then?? Overall, except for this inexplicable situation, I liked the hotel and room and bathroom.

Location is fantastic, price is unbeatable. Stayed in a junio apartment; very clean modern decor. Perfect for a solo or couple.

My only complaint was there is no AC; they provided a Fan; which kind of resolved it. I happen to be in the 1-2 warm months in Mexico City. No ac should not be a problem at any other month.

I stayed at this hotel in February 2018 and I can honestly say it was worth every cent I paid. The room was average size, bed was comfortable as well as the pillows, the restroom was beautiful in my opinion, oh and you also get a small kitchen area with forks,knifes,plates,cups,pots etc. The hotel is located in a very safe area I would Uber around everywhere if not walk day or night with no problem. Most importantly the hotel is pretty clean, nice and modern they also have someone at the front at all times making sure you belong to that hotel overwise you can’t get in which is excellent for security purposes. Overall I would definitely book this hotel again and would totally recommend it. Thank you suites rio Elba for such an amazing week stay with you guys !!

Nice hotel in excellent location

The hotel room was very clean and spacious. The staff courteous but with limited English language skills. What was lacking was a hair dryer and space heater. It gets pretty cold at night in the winter time and there is no central heating in Mexico City. When you ask the hotel to phone for a taxi, make sure you ask for a sedan, otherwise you'll get a more expensive van.

Had a great stay at Rio Elba. The room was beautiful, clean, modern. The bed was the most comfortable I have experienced in Mexico. The room may have been a tad bit small (not a big deal), but the bathroom (and shower) was huge! We stayed for two nights and have no complaints. The price was right and the location was perfect for exploring the city. Highly recommended.

The Suites were recently renovated and our master suite with three bedrooms and baths was great. They could add some more utlensils in the kitchen along with variety of glasses. The rooms can get warm and air conditioning would be a plus. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Location is great.

Perfect for Winter, not Summer

The hotel would have been absolutely perfect if not for the fact that the room had no air conditioning. The room was remodeled and was beautiful - flawless even. The staff was friendly. The location was absolutely perfect. The only problem was the air conditioning. The room was hot at some times, and the windows are small, but we were able to open them. Overall I say this is the perfect hotel to stay at during the winter (there is heat), but not during the summer.

Great place to stay!

Great location, close to the park and it's museums. Amazingly friendly staff, clean rooms, low cost. No ammenities like booking tours or breakfast, but we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Good Location

The room was a lot smaller than shown on the hotel pic reservations. However, the hotel was centrally located and within walking distance to many museums and national monuments.

NOISE FROM NEARBY CONSTRUCTION 24/7!!!

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I have traveled all over the world, am a American Airlines Million Mile flyer and have stayed in hundreds of hotels. I have never experienced construction noise from a nearby tower, with hammering, welding and dragging of pipes outside my window all night long. Especially without any advice to potential guests! When I went down in the morning bleary-eyed to tell the manager I was not the three additional nights I had book he slammed the checkout receipt down-- practically threw it in my face-- and stormed off. No Bueno!!!!

I WAS IN MEXICO CITY FOR 2 DAYS AND NIGHTS ,RIO SUITES ELBA WAS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO MUSEUMS AND RESTAURANTS, THE HOTEL STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY, THE ROOM WAS CLEAN WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN. ENJOYED MY STAY VERY MUCH.

Great location, friendly staff

Great location, 10 minutes walking to monument of independence, 15 minutes walking to the museum of anthropology, and 20 minutes to Metro. Located at a residential area near major highways, within walking distance to pretty everything you need. The area is safe at night. We stayed at a very spacious 3 bedroom suite, there is even a piano in the living room, big surprise. The staff is extremely friendly, we spoke little Spanish, yet found no difficulties getting things done. Highly recommended.

Localización excelente , pague más por un dormitorio con cocina y no tenía internet y olía muy mal . Me cambiaron a uno más pequeño que estaba mejor pero pagué sin motivo por uno grande y además no pude dormir hasta después de las 11pm por que tocan o pasan clases de piano y risas toda la noche y día.
Limpieza entro al dormitorio sin tocar y yo en baños menores .
