The hotel is in a great location, minutes away from the most popular landmarks of Nantes. The level of cleaness was at the highest standard and we had a nice balcony with a great view towards Place Royal to the left and Place Graslin to the right.

Convenient hotel in a good location for cafe/shops

The hotel was fine. It was based in a really central location - there were 2 beautiful squares really close to the hotel and loads of nice places to eat nearby and the room was very quiet at night. Didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on that. Only other thing to say was the rooms were not that big (I stayed in a standard room) and they didn’t provide any toiletries apart from hand soap. The air conditioning was good though - we stayed during some really hot weather!

Single worst hotel experience ever!

Worst hotel experience ever! My wife and I were traveling by bicycle and the hotel assured us that a parking garage nearby would accept the bikes. This was not the case and the \"front desk\" staff would do absolutely nothing to assist us. We had no choice but to leave and seek accommodation elsewhere. We ended up staying nearby at the OKKO hotel which was fantastic. I will avoid Mercure Hotels in the future.

The central location of the hotel is within walking distance of almost everything. The staff was helpful and gave great recommendations for meals. Our room was clean and comfortable. Finding the hotel by car was quite difficult if not impossible because it's located in an area open to pedestrian traffic. We were able to park in a lot close by and walk our luggage in.

Mercure Passage Pommeraye

Helpful staff, beautiful decor and very comfy bed. Nuxe shower gel and hand soap was a nice touch. The location was excellent, within a 5 minute radius of a huge selection of shops, restaurants, creperies, cafes and bars.
Our Standard room was smaller than we expected though. It didn’t have any drawer space and the selection of teas and coffees could have been better (e.g. make sure there are 2 sachets of non-decaf coffee!).

Great downtown hotel

Superb location if you are looking for a downtown stay and a walk-to- anywhere location. Rooms are small but tastefully appointed and up-to-date, reception staff very nice and always on hand. Very comfortable bed and nice to have large doors opening onto a pedestrian street (very little traffic noise). I opted out of breakfast with so many other places around.

The hotel is in a great location. But I paid for a superior room and I fail to see how that room was superior. It had no view. Seemed basic and no shampoo erg
The carpets in the corridors were dirty and there is a sign in reception sating 'suck my heart\". What on earth is s sign like that doing there.

The staff were all very helpful & friendly. A safe would have been useful. Weather extremely hot & a fan had been put in our room. Very thoughtful. It was veey noisy in the street during the night with shouting & screaming. That isn't the hotel's fault but it was difficult to sleep.

Suggest you take one of the better rooms. You'll have space, enormous windows and a view overlooking the street. And a bathroom with double French windows! And an actual shower instead of one of those bathtubs the depth of rendering vats.

With that comes a bit on noise, you'll have to close those enormous windows.

The room was comfortable in May but there's no aircon and summer (July, August) may be challenging.

Brilliant location, more restaurants and bars than you could eat at. Fabulous English speaking staff.

Dreadful tiny dining room. Literally, a sardine can. Great breakfast though.

Having missed my outbound flight I hd to change my booking. On arrival the receptionist said she was sorry about the missed flight and that I'd be spending 2 nights rather than 3, which was thoughtful of her. I got the quiet upstairs room I'd asked for. I slept soundly and the copious breakfast buffet was good value at around £10, though the room is small and guests have to sit close together. Reception were helpful at showing places on the map and recommending local restaurants. Check out at 12 noon was later than most hotels I've stayed in.

smart quirky hotel

Smart hotel in a pedestrian area so had to park at a nearby garage....and carry our bags... but we expected that.
Unfortunately it kept raining when we wanted to check out!!!
Rooms were comfortable - very quiet as no traffic. Breakfast seemed very expensive so we found a boulangerie nearby for a coffee,.

The Hotel Pommeraye is ideally placed in the centre near to Place Royale and Commerce.
The hotel room was perfect - lovely and clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Highly Recommended.

The staff of the hotel did provide us with incredible service in assisting us to file a police report due to an unfortunate incident happened near the hotel while we stopped the car to ask for direction to go inside the pedestrian zone where the hotel is located.
Our most valuable travel bag was stolen out of the backseat of our car within minutes of parking the car unlocked!

We wish it was a more memorable stay as we did not get much sleep as the wifi on the 4th level was very weak until after midnight.

Most rooms in the hotel are undergoing full renovation and the superior room was ver large with a new bath.

Great location in Nantes but we did not get the tour the city due to the incident.

My wife and I chose the Pommeraye based on a personal recommendation and were not disappointed. Not only is the location perfect, the staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The only drawback with the room was the lack of a shower curtain. Otherwise I would have given it a perfect score. Everything in the historic center is within walking distance, and restaurants and bars are in abundance. Please note that Nantes is the perfect base for exploring other towns in the Loire valley and Brittany by train.

Good location, but in need of improvements

This staff here was super friendly and helpful and the location truly can't be beat. However, the wifi was spotty at best, the shower sprayed all over the floor, the faucet leaked all over the counter top and the bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke. Check to see if they have any recently renovated rooms, otherwise expect subpar conditions for the price.

Not the boutique hotel I was expecting.

Hotel was in a good location but a little difficult to find. The rooms were not as I expected. They were very small and not very pretty, but they were clean. The staff were nice and welcoming and the breakfast had something for everyone. Overall it was ok, but from the reviews on tripadvisor I was expecting a lovely boutique hotel and was rather disappointed.

This is a great place to stay if you want to be in the city of Nantes. Quirky artwork in the corridors and foyer. Very friendly staff. Plenty of lively bars & restaurants around & about, and yet the bedrooms were nice & quiet. The only downside is that the parking is quite difficult to find and getting out of it was slightly problematic too. But otherwise - fab!

Good small central hotel

Location is good right in the centre adjacent to Passage Pommeraye, staff are all helpful and have arranged restaurant bookings for me. Rooms are of good size with good shower/toilet facilities, the only thing missing are no drawers for clothes or nick knacks. Breakfast is good continental with range of fruit, bread, cheese, ham, crepes, tea or coffee, the dining room is on the small size but this has never been a problem. Have no hesitation in recommending.

Friendly, clean and comfortable hotel in great location. Downsides: Silly shower design means taps stick out almost halfway across shower tray, meaning there's very little room for the person in the shower! Wifi not very strong, Room lighting very weak. Otherwise perfect!

A small hotel in a great central location

Staff are helpful and welcoming, rooms are not large but spotlessly clean, some minor irritations in that not one drawer in room, toilet in one room with bidet in next door shower room. Showers extremely small so if you turn you knock control and shower goes off. Continental Breakfast good.
All in all I would stay here again and put up with the irritations.

Great location, but our room was not new rehabbed.

If I could rate location solely, this would get a 5. Very central to the town, bus to airport and many more items. The hotel staff was nice and spoke English, however, we got a smoking room, so make sure you request a non smoking if you do not want to smell the smoke. I got the feeling the entire second floor was a smoking floor. Also, our shower head hose kept detaching from the head, while it was on--not so nice! And the bathroom laminate looked to be adhered directly over carpet.......

Somewhat disappointing

The hotel needs significant upgrades. The walls are so thin, I thought there was someone else in my room each morning (while the neighbours were in their own bathroom or the cleaning staff in the hallway.)
The room was very basic, but would benefit from some updates such as decor, toiletries in the bath, a city map, a room service menu, better internet connection.
Overall it was more of a 2-star motel, unfortunately.

Fantastic value for the price

This is a great hotel, especially for short stays. The staff is extremely nice. It is extremely well located in the heart of the city. When you go out, everything is near. However, when the bars empty out, it also means that you may have some really joyful iinhebriated people ubder your window. Aside of this everything is great, especially at the price.

So easy to find and to see everything I wanted to see. Around the corner from the Theatre Graslin and Les Cigales, walking distance to Place Du Commerce and a huge market! The best part was waking up from a nap to hear a violinist playing near my window and the next morning an accordianist - just like in the movies!
Service was impeccable, the room was spotless....crisp clean white sheets and fluffy towels. Breakfast was self sever and delicious and the staff were very forgiving of my attempts at the French Language. Nearby was Pickwiwk's, great for a pint while watching the Rugby game.... highly recommended!

We found the location perfect - in close walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do.
The hotel staff were always friendly and ready to help (and could speak some English which helped us!).

Tout ok sauf la température dans la chambre

Notre séjour s'est bien passé, à part le fait qu'il faisait extrêmement froid dans la chambre (en-dessous de 15°) et encore plus dans la salle de bain. Il n'était pas possible de régler nous-même la température, dommage. Nous l'avons dit à la dame lors du check-out et elle a dit que nous aurions dû nous plaindre et ils auraient augmenté la température de notre chambre. Oui, on aurait dû au lieu de souffrir.
La chambre est un peu petite également.

Habitación no corresponde a un 4* y en todo el hotel había un olor raro. Está en zona peatonal y es un lío enorme llegar al hotel.
Hay q pedir todo, cambien sábanas, rellenen productos de baño etc. En la cama encima colchón había un trozo d plástico q nos hizo sudar por supuesto lo retiré. No creo vuelva a ese hotel

Das Hotel befindet sich in guter zentraler Lage in der Fußgängerzone von Nantes. Mit dem Pkw schwer erreichbar. Das Hotel verfügt über keine Parkplätze. Das Haus hat Charme, ist aber in die Jahre gekommen. Im Treppenhaus und dem Hotelflur roch es sehr unangenehm, muffig. Das Frühstück war weit weg von einem 4-Sterne-Hotel. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich.

Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel avec deux amies.
Très bon séjour, le personnel est très agréable.
Les chambres sont plutôt spacieuses, propres.
Les produits Nuxe sont vraiment très agréables à utiliser.
Le buffet du petit déjeuner est plutôt varié avec des oeufs, bacon, fromage, fruits, yaourts et viennoiseries. Une belle gamme de thé également.
