We had a wonderful stay at La Perouse hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The location is excellent, convenient and perfectly situated, making it easy to enjoy the surrounding area. The views are absolutely beautiful and truly one of the highlights of the experience. Waking up each morning to the sound of the waves and to such a stunning setting was unforgettable.

The hotel was also very clean and well maintained, which made us feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time. It was a fantastic experience, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the best room at Hôtel La Pérouse Nice, and overall it was a pleasant experience.

On the first night, the jacuzzi bathtub was unfortunately not working. However, the manager handled the situation professionally and did his best to compensate us, which we truly appreciated. The staff throughout our stay were very kind, attentive, and provided excellent service.

Despite the small issue, we enjoyed our time here and would consider coming back. I sincerely hope to return with my girlfriend one day, and hopefully, next time, she will be my wife and we will be here for our honeymoon.

As others have stated if you’re staying in a standard room you’re forced to enter the dining area each and every time you want to go to your room. It’s a very strange set-up and should be noted at booking which it isn’t.

We asked for a different room and were informed (despite the hotel not being at capacity at all) that the only other room available was double the price. Which would have made the nightly stay $1500 USD Per night for a hotel that should be priced in September at about $400 USD.

Nice place and nice people in a nice location but the pricing and standard room pricing should make you run for other hotels that are better value.

We'd actually stayed there 26 years ago!! Loved the location both times...end of boardwalk / edge of \" old town\". No car needed, fab dinner first night in there Patio restaurant. Pool a lovely place to read in sun at end of busy days! Yes it was still open late October as temp in high 70's. Lovely staff !

Hôtel La Pérouse is unbelievably charming. It is close to everything, including the market, which is the epicentre of old Nice. The property is very clean and exceptionally well appointed, and the entire staff is attentive and helpful. We enjoyed a spectacular view of the Mediterranean from our “Superior room”. The pool area is exceptionally clean and so is the pool. We swam at the end of every day before dinner. This was idyllic

We stayed here for 8 days and every single day was perfect, in so small part thanks to Leo! He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and helped us with reservations, recommendations and helping us get around! The hotel itself is beautiful and not at all confusing (as others have said). On our first day we were given a detailed tour and it was actually pretty easy to find our way around this unique and beautiful hotel. Location is ideal, super close to the amazing Castel beach club, restaurants and shopping! Honestly every thing was perfect and we can’t wait to come back!

The best thing about the hotel was the terrace and view from the room. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fairly standard, the food was good but what you would expect from a breakfast buffet. Check in was stressful as I had been delayed in arriving at the hotel and due to the complex layout the employee at the desk insisted I waited for the valet. I had to wait 15 minutes for him to come and was late for a dinner reservation as a result. The valet, who I didn’t ask for, then stood in my hotel doorway expecting a tip which I didn’t have at that moment as I’d just arrived and didn’t have cash. He walked away swearing (he must have assumed I didn’t speak French) because I didn’t give him a tip. I will say the valet the next day was different and went over and above to help, and the member of staff who managed my check out was very helpful and this made the experience much better.

Lovely staff, perfect Nice location between beach and marina, excellent restaurant, good pool, PERFECT views. Only issue is a slightly convoluted internal layout which means having to take more than one lift / staircase to get to most rooms (and three to get to some - though the benefit is you are higher and get a better view).

TL/DR: This place will absolutely downgrade you from what you’ve paid for and make you feel nuts if you call them on it! Had a reservation for four nights in a Deluxe Full Sea View Room and arrived at 9pm due to a wildfire that held our train up in Cannes for almost 4 hours (also closing the highways, so no way to get there!). We made it, tired and hungry, through the protracted check-in process and were finally shown to our room...only to discover it was not the room we'd booked. To be clear, it was a lovely room with a small terrace; a \"Superior Room with a Sea View\" to be exact, which I knew immediately because I had spent more time than I should have debating whether it was worth the extra money for the Deluxe (we're only two people, we'll hardly be in the room, etc.). In the end I decided to spring for it and really wish I didn’t because then I might have enjoyed our stay. We went back and forth with the front desk telling us we just didn’t understand as this room *was* a Deluxe (it wasn’t) but finally gave up. The next day they finally admitted it and moved us to a room with an ancient AC that cooled the room no further than 76 F, with a view of a bush and a couple of lounge chairs surrounded by overgrown hedges…we were never compensated or refunded for the inferior rooms and it kind of ruined the experience. I recommend staying somewhere else where you won’t have to deal with dishonest business practices and fight for what you paid for while on vacation.

La Pérouse markets itself as a luxury hotel but doesn't live up to the pictures or the hype. The first thing we noticed upon check-in was that our room looked nothing like the one we booked on Expedia -- an issue we had to rectify by complaining to the manager, which was less than fun. Unfortunately, the new room had its share of issues as well: the bathroom sink didn't drain as it was oddly clogged with food from previous guest. The toilet seat routinely fell off the toilet. The water temperature in the shower would randomly go from hot to cold. Our balcony -- while beautiful, seemed to have an infestation of bees. Both occasions that we used the shared rooftop lounge space, which is absolutely magical, we were inexplicably locked out and had to call the front desk to get let back inside. The concierge that checked-us in was rude to the point where we felt were uncomfortable speaking with him. We also learned that it's impractical to use ride-share applications to/from this hotel because none of the apps allow pickup/dropoff in the hotel's neighborhood, Vieux Nice, meaning you need to walk 10-15 minutes. To be fair, the hotel does have some nice aspects: the breakfast is fantastic. The views of the ocean and the city are absolutely spectacular. The location adjacent to Vieux Nice and the castle is pretty cool too, despite the ride-share issue. And the staff is generally awesome, particularly the breakfast wait-staff. Overall decent place but not worth the price.

Stayed for three nights (partners birthday) and had the most amazing time! Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, hotel is very clean and facilities are very good! Small hotel but felt very welcome and location just can not be beaten anywhere in Nice! Rooms had recently been renovated, only thing stopping this being 5 stars in requiring a freshen up in the corridors/communal areas. Would (will) visit year after year!

The location is awesome with views from our balcony. We loved sitting out and looking at the promanade and the mediterain. The downside was the housekeeping was terrible. We kept having to ask for towels, lotion, shampoo, body wash etc. They never vacummed our room fromt he time we were there. The breakfast was wonderful and service at breakfast was great.

The only room for improvement was that the “queen” bed was really two twins pushed together … and not secured together. On several occasion one of us (and the remote) did fall through the crack.

stay if you’re expecting 3 star quality. The building, the amenities and the room size and quality just does not live up to my expectations of a 4 star hotel. Rooms are small and walls so thin you can hear your neighbor talking. Seeing that the price was just a touch cheaper than some of the 5 stars on the promenade we felt a bit cheated. That said, had the price been considerably cheaper than the other hotels, we would have felt satisfied.

When I spend well over 400.00 a night in a 5 Star Hotel to celebrate our final night in France? I don’t expect the ladies at the front desk to be rude and judging. I don’t expect to spend the night in the smallest room in the annals of the hotel with 2 twin beds squished together behind a rollout bed for my 23 yr old daughter that I had to climb over to get to the bathroom... with a view of a dirty table and a Rock. Not a coffee maker in sight.. and the pillows were like rocks. The food was meh.. the waitstaff was fabulous!

My husband and I stayed at La Perouse in late June ‘19. Our overall experience was okay. The location was fabulous, just a few minutes’ walk from the many bars/restaurants in Old Town. We also enjoyed the pool, which was clean and quiet. Unfortunately, the value seemed “off” to me. We paid ~$620 USD/night, expecting a room with balcony views over the sea. We received a room that had beautiful views, but the balcony was TINY. Only enough room for a small table and chairs. The view was fantastic, but based on pictures we saw on the website, we expected more. We literally had barely enough room to sit on the balcony. We had anticipated spending more time on our “balcony,” but because it was so small, had to spend more time at the pool. In addition, after one particularly hot day exploring the coast, we were very tired and sought reprieve at the pool. It was 7p and we brought our own wine, not realizing outside beverages were not allowed. A server from the hotel bar scolded us and we immediately put away our wine. I realize that we were in the wrong, however it was not intentionally done and I really don’t appreciate being scolded by the staff. I found it very rude - he could have told us in a much nicer way. Especially since the bar service by the pool was odd - you had to walk into the restaurant to order drinks, that would then be brought to you. Finally, the hotel is a little outdated - typical for Europe, but again, we paid $620 USD/night so expected something nicer.

The staff at La Perouse were outstanding! They were hard working, polite and informative. The breakfast was delicious though a bit overpriced. I loved the location at the far eastern end of the beach promenade yet Nice Harbour and Ville Franche are lovely 10 and 60 minute walks, respectively.

Beautiful view from our room. Huge balcony, and the view of the beach/city from the rooftop is divine!
Perfect location for walking but being a little off the beaten path. All members of staff were very helpful.

Good hotel, a little quirky but in a good way.
Views from the rooms are great.
Good location just on the edge of everything.
Only downside is no teas/coffees in the room so bring your own travel kettle & tea bags...

Great location on the waterfront with every attraction within walking distance. Walking on the promenade is delightful in the evening. Dining in old city Nice is excellent.

This property is at the end of the beach below castle hill. It is close to old town. Excellent ocean views. Set a little apart from the crowds - we appreciated the quiet. Excellent breakfast. Rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
