Driving to the hotel was difficult because of the traffics and too many confusing roundabout. The parking garage was complicated when the desk did not tell us to get to the right garage entrance. The only nice thing about the hotel was that the room was clean.

The hotel was in a great spot to explore downtown Nantes. The young lady at the desk was extremely helpful and friendly. And spoke very good English since my French is limited and poor. The only downside was due to it being in the city, parking can be stressful. We weren’t sure if we could temporarily park on the street to unload, but then we lucked out with a parking spot opening up on the street.

BEWARE - LAPTOP WAS STOLEN FROM THE ROOM

We checked in Hotel Voltaire Opera Nantes Centre on 5 May and checked out on 7 May for our onward travel to Paris. We were in room number 114 on the first floor. On 6 May, we left the hotel at 8:30 am and came back to the room at 10:30 pm (after dinner). As soon as we returned to the room, I realized that my laptop which I kept in the closet was missing. We checked all our bags thoroughly and then promptly reported the theft to the front desk. The two boys on the night duty immediately called the owner, who confirmed that he will check with the housekeeping staff and then will report the matter to the police. At around midnight, the two boys from the front desk came to our room with a devise to retrieve the access card information from the door lock. They also informed me that there is a CCTV only on the ground floor and the access to the CCTV footage is only with the owner.
Next morning, I met the wife of the owner and enquired about how can they help in finding my laptop. I also asked for the room access and the CCTV information. She informed me that other than the housekeeping staff, her husband accessed the room and he gave access to the repairs contractors in our absence.
I was absolutely shocked to learn that the folks accessed our room without our permission. The owners did not share the CCTV footage with us. She said that she is reviewing the CCTV footage herself and will let us know if she finds anything. They also did not report the matter to the police. They gave

This is a lovely small hotel in the Centre of Nantes.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size and have super comfortable beds. This is our second visit as we were passing back through the city on our holiday and we loved it the first time. Breakfast in the dining room is very good including local jams, cheeses, fruits etc. Definitely would recommend.

The location in the center of Nantes is perfect for exploring the city on foot or by using some public transport. The front desk staff were very helpful. They gave me a map of the center of the city and pointed out places of interest. My only criticism was that my room had no air-conditioning only a fan to keep cool. It was a very hot night and I had a hard time sleeping because of the heat.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was lovely and the location is perfect. We booked an attic room, which I would do again, but just know that there is essentially only a bathtub because you cannot stand up to shower due to the slant of the ceiling. This was no problem for me because I enjoy baths.

We stayed in Nantes for 3 days during a tour of Northern France and I'm glad we chose the Voltaire Opera Hotel. The hotel is a short walk to city centre shopping and there are loads of great restaurants and bars close by. I would particularly recommend La Cigale restaurant for it's amazing food and art deco interior. The hotel staff are all welcoming and friendly and all spoke perfect English which was really helpful when we got our car locked into the nearby car park and didn't know who to contact to get it out. Thank you to the gentleman on reception who helped us! We will definitely stay here again when we're next in the area.

Having disembarked from a Loire River Cruise we arrived at the hotel at 9 am to drop off our baggage. Firstly, the receptionist invited us into the breakfast room for a coffee. Then whilst we were having coffee, she told us that our room was ready. This exemplified service that goes over and beyond.

The hotel is superbly located, a 2 minute walk from Graslin Place and the Opera House.

I was a solo traveler for 2 nights in Nantes. The hotel is located in a safe and quiet street and yet very convenient to the center. The room I had was on the top floor and I could see the moon from the window on the roof which was cool. The room is open plan without doors so it is suitable for a single use. What they offered for breakfast was amazing but the stuff working in the hotel were even better. They are all so friendly and caring. I will be back!

Everything was delightful- quiet side street, gracious and helpful staff, perfect modern bathroom (with shelf space for my toiletries!), cozy and clean room and a location right in the center of everything I wanted to visit. 2 days in Nantes en route along the Loire

Very warm welcome at this hotel from a kindly lady on reception. Very helpful and informative, gave a map of Nantes and annotated it for all the sights, also gave us a great local guidebook.
Hotel was clean and comfortable on a quiet road only a stone's throw from one of the main squares. Lots of bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
No hotel parking so we're advised to use the Parking Médiathèque just 3 mins on foot around the corner but were able to unload our bags at the front door and check in before moving the car.
Really good hotel and great location for central Nantes.
Nantes is a really cool city with lots going on and lots of art installations across the city, well worth a vist... Simply follow the green line!

Good 3* hotel located in the centre city of Nantes 2 mins from Place Graslin (shopping area/ la Cigale restaurant).

Pleasant English speaking front of house welcome.

Room was clean, especially bathroom,but no air conditioning so room got quite warm. Could redo paint as cracking was obvious. Wallpaper was decent. Thin walls and no double glazing (woken up by someone outside of hotel screaming around 6am).

Breakfast was homemade for the most part with fresh juices !!! Non continental,very French but no croissants ...

Some of the staff was very helpful and kind. They went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and offered great recommendation. The breakfast is very good. They had a good selection. The room did not have an AC but they did provide a small fan. Unfortunately the fan was noisy. Also, they control the TV volume, you may not turn it up, which made it very hard to hear specially when the fan was on.
The room service was all right. When you run out of items, the staff did not replace it.

This is a well located boutique hotel in the historic district near Place Graslin. It is intimate and the owners are actively engaged with their guests. Rooms are a bit small, but comfortable and well appointed. No AC, but the heat in June wasn’t a problem as they supplied us with a fan when requested. Excellent French breakfast. The one problem is the hotels.com website listed a lift in the hotel. That was true, but not for our Family room. We were on the fourth floor with no lift and at 68 that was bit difficult for us.Maybe they thought with our 10 year old grandaughter with us we were young parents. Not the case and it spoiled what would have been a good visit

Nice small, B&B type hotel in a good location. Good value. We stayed 3 nights, room was quiet, fairly comfy and had a nice bathroom. Not too small. Great, walkable location to La Machines, many stores, restaurants and places bs nearby. Only quibble was lack of a bar or food at the hotel, despite their description online, the only offer is a simple breakfast buffet. Staff was excellent, English speaking and helpful.

Very nice little hotel close to the historic center of Nantes. Easy walk to the river or to the Opera Square. Hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. Room was small, but neat and clean and the bathroom was modern and clean. Nice view of the historic buildings across the street and a little balcony outside the window. Breakfast was €12 per person and good value with pastries, cereal, excellent coffee, cold cuts, etc.

Only downside was no dedicated hotel parking. There is (paid) on-street parking on the same street as the hotel, but I chose to park in one of the secure underground lots 5 minutes away

Unfortunately, my room was uncomfortably warm. There is no air conditioning or even thermostat in the room, so I had very poor sleeps. Additionally, they were replacing the carpet in the hallway on my floor without informing me. So, when I returned in the afternoon to my room, the hallway was a bit of a disaster with carpet torn up, rolls of carpet blocking my doorway, and a very strong smell of adhesive that permeated the hallway and my room. There was no effort made by the hotel to offer me a room on an alternate floor. In short, I’m quite disappointed. The hotel itself though is quite charming and well located for walking around central Nantes and not far from Isle de Nantes. I’m sure my experience was an isolated one but I have to say that if you like a cool room for sleeping, this is not the place for you.

A Very Quaint “old” French Hotel

Hotel location is second to none, we received a lovely welcome, and the room, despite being a bit small, has all the comfort needed. Great value for money.
