I stay here when I go to the jazz festival in Montreal. Staff are very friendly and helpful, room is comfortable, air conditioning is great, close to metro station. Large tv, fridge, and microwave.
Brandi
It is really hard to sleep with the thin walls, someone was slamming their doors for about 2 hours late at night.

Very basic motel room -- no lights but harsh overheads, no coffee/tea, only one easy chair.. the room was clean and the bed was comfy, so if you only need a place to sleep for a night on your trip, it's okay.

I appreciate that they sent me the warm reminder before the day that I checked in. The staffs are helpful. Room is clean and neat

Clean quiet and comfortable. A short bus ride to the metro. Good value for basic accommodations.

This place is ideal for travellers who are on a budget and are travelling to Montreal with a car because it’s so close to many hotspots (ex. 11 min drive to Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal, 22 min drive to old port)
The room is so spacious and the front staff makes 24/7 complimentary coffee

Beds were comfortable and I liked that there was a parking lot. This is my third time to Montreal and I've never had a hotel with a parking lot.

Chris
Friendly and helpful staff especially the night check in person who gave a good suggestion for evening dinner. Clean and basic room. Good location for price. Good parking access. My only suggestion is there should be a “security chain” or some kind of bar lock INSIDE the door that only the occupant can open. I was surprised that there was none and I would think that would be extremely important for female travelers.
Christine
Staff were courteous and efficient.
The room smelled clean and was very clean.
Excellent parking in their own lot.
Overall, very satisfied.

J’ai surtout apprécié la proximité du centre ville de Montréal, la propreté et l’air climatisé est silencieux.

Our stay at Auberge St. Jacques was great! The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained, and the two female receptionists were very kind and welcoming.

Rooms were okay, but did not look anthing what was shown on pictures on hotels.com
Devin
The motel was fantastic, and I was surprised to find the jacuzzi in my room was in fine working condition! This was a bonus, because I had spent most of my stay walking around Montreal, which was accessible via a short bus ride to the metro to go downtown. The only downside is how audibly I could hear some of my immediate neighbors, but it wasn't an issue due to how comfortably I slept while staying here!
Matthew
Everything was as expected for a budget hotel. No complaints. Parking was easy and the staff was friendly

The air conditioning works very well; I think they're new. The parking is very good, and the hedge provides some privacy.
The room we booked looked brand new; it was clearly recently remodeled. It was very clean and smelled great. The maintenance team clearly does a good job.

The wifi was a bit spotty at times, but it was super easy just to switch to another network — you just use the same password 👍 The coffee they make you (if you go to the lobby and ask) was very yummy 😋 Also everything you really need is out on Rue St. Jacques to the left, and everything else is to the right, and all within 2kms! Super-lovely staff and great vibes from the neighbors.

What an adorable little find! Rooms were clean and well appointed. Check in was friendly and seamless. Parking was ample and safe, being right in front of the main floor doors and all within view of the reception. This is a Motel type arrangement, with 2 floors. We asked for a main floor room and that's what we got. There is not much sound insulation between rooms or through door, so if noise bothers you, bring earplugs (I wasn't bothered at all by it). For the price, this was an exceptional find, especially the proximity to Concordia University and Bell Centre (10-15 minutes drive, even in traffic, and quite direct) and to a bunch of interesting businesses (restaurants including B12 Burgers, Souvenirs Sucrés and Monkland Croissants, all amazing as well as grocery stores and pharmacies) on nearby Sherbrooke St West. Room had a mini fridge, microwave and kettle. We booked a Twin room (2 Twin beds) which each had a light above them that could be turned on and off from bed.
A lovely stay and we will definitely be back again soon!

Unique room decor. Comfortable
Nicely renovated bath. Clean.
Parking is a challenge
Drove by expecting street front location, tucked in behind another business.

Excellent place to stay. Not too close and not too far from the city/downtown. Convenient location. Bus stop is right by the hotel so you can go out drinking and not worry about driving home. Room was clean and I found the interior to be slightly classy. Very affordable would stay again

Parking safe.

No real complaints - everything was fine/average. Staff were present......not overly friendly, but answered any questions when asked.
Room was OK - bed was comfortable. Convenient location with a car - ample free parking on site.
No complaints and would happily stay here again......but nothing to rave about either!

We liked the idea of the three single beds as there were three of us travelling, but my bed was the bed from hell. Hard as a rock, my back was in pain all night. One thin comforter, no extra blankets.
Noise from people upstairs (not partying - just walking, showering, thumping in the middle of the night) was very disturbing, as were the bright lights from the outside motel lighting that stayed on all night.
For 172 dollars I would expect more comfort. I would not go back.

Clean, affordable, meets basic needs, friendly staff. Bed was very firm and could have used a topper on the mattress to soften the hardness. Overall very good.

The room was very nice, minus the smelly carpet. I thought we'd get room with tile, but instead had carpet, which needs shampooing.
Dale
Clean comfortable room
Nice & clean. Helpful staff. They allowed my freezer packs to be put in their office freezer (no freezer compartment in the room fridge). The room was dark (the walls painted with a dark brown colour). I could here conversation through the wall from the next room so not very sound proof. The free parking was a big attraction considering it is on the island of Montreal
Mallory
Nice motel. Far from anything in Montreal tho
Jeannie
Wonderful warm reception. Very Clean facilities especially large new styled bathroom. Loved the full ridge with freezer compartment & convenience of microwave. Great heating cooling/heating unit. Overall quiet overnight hours.
Suggest not slip grips in shower base.
Blanket looks old and doesn’t look too clean. Didn’t use it. Noticed bed cover is setup as blanket, which is not very warm.
One high chair hydronic slowly falling. Bit noisy from upstairs units, hearing walking around.

My three-day visit recently was mostly positive. The staff in the office were very friendly, courteous and helpful. My room was comfortable and very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. And there was plenty of free parking available.
I found the bathroom to be quite small, but this is just my own taste; most people wouldn't care. But I prefer a large sink and large mirror for when I am preparing to go out. The mirror was placed too low for tall people, so I had to bend my knees sometimes to see what I was doing. There was a large jacuzzi tub in the room, but I would have given it up to have a larger bathroom. Again, this is just my personal preference.
On my last night there, I was awakened at 1:45 a.m. by noisy guests in the room above mine, who were talking loudly and walking around a lot. I think the rooms should have signs in them asking guests to keep the noise levels down after 10 p.m.
Lastly, my car was damaged in the parking lot, although this was completely not the fault of the motel -- just some inconsiderate driver. But now I have a big repair bill to pay.
Other than those last two incidents, I enjoyed my stay at Auberge St. Jacques and would stay there again and would recommend it to my friends and family.
