Hotel policy is totally confusing and unreliable. The hotel tried to make several unauthorised attempts of charge from my bank account without explanation before my hotel stay. No proper address to the issue despite my repeated request for documentation reliance. Furthermore, no official receipt was given despite repeated demand, in particular relating to the unexpected deposit money collected at the time of check in.

I will not book this hotel again and I will definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

It is not a fancy hotel. The breakfast was minimal. They didn’t have an atm machine so no place to get Canadian coins for the laundry. The front desk doesn’t take US dollars. But it was clean and comfortable. Free parking was nice. It’s in a busy area across from the expressway but it was remarkably quiet inside. The staff were nice and helpful. It was fine for a few days.

The hotel was okay overall. It wasn’t amazing, but it did the job for a short stay. The bed was comfortable enough and the basics were provided, but nothing stood out in terms of service or amenities. It’s a decent option if you just need a place to sleep, What I did appreciate was the free underground self-parking.

Do not book your hotel here, they overbooked my room to another guest and asked me to go to their sister hotel Ramada nearby or sleep on the street.

When I booked 2 rooms with 2 queen beds, they downgraded my room in Ramada. And when I complained to the management the next day, about this matter and the Ramada hotel being stinking like garbage. They were like, we apologize and they cannot do anything in this matter, if you book it through 3rd party app like Expedia.

I would suggest you to book elsewhere, even if it costs $$, you will get pease of mind atleast.

Also, they will not compensate you for the inconvenience caused by them to us and be like do visit us next time. Shameless idiots.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL !!!

The staff of this hotel is exceptional. I was treated with respect and caring. There was a slight issue with finding my room as I do not read or speak French, the young lady at the front desk not only explained where I went wrong but because of my mobility issues escorted me to my room. Upon arriving in my room the temperature was very high and we figured out together how to adjust it. Later she actually called the room to make sure it was suitable.
The rooms were very large compared to anywhere else we have stayed. Also very clean. The constant availability of coffee and tea was a pleasure and the breakfast selection was enjoyable.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was still benefitting from being new. The overall design was an interesting mixture between retro 50/60 -ties and futuristic space ship arena. The common area

But it lacked a personal touch: one was reminded of cafeteria of a business or university.
It could need a little bit more warmth. The location is good ,midtown easy access to
Some of the more interesting neighborhoods. For one night travellers this hotel was perfect. A guest who would like to stay a week or so would feel like in a US highway motel:, totally anonymous. Also the staff at the reception should not act like housekeeping with a different task. The receptionist does not have to be formal, but a bit more welcoming, and competent in understanding their role as a host.
Nevertheless an overall good experience . I would come back

Window view is of the hallway. So you can't really open the blinds unless you want people walking in the hallway to see inside your room. Very weird.

The hotel advertises a breakfast buffet; it's not much more than some toast, bagels, muffins, cereal and yogurt. On a buffet I would expect eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles and pancakes . . maybe it's a cultural thing.
While clean and well maintained, I would change the name to Stark, very industrial and monochromatic.
They have a guest laundry, coin operated but they cannot provide any change; they should consider tokens instead that could be charged to the room.

Considering the price, cleanliness, and complimentary breakfast , which covers the basics, not a luxury hotel experience, I was satisfied with the stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hassle-free place to stay in Montreal for 2,3 days

It was a very nice roomy room with an extra large TV. Everything seemed clean, but I don't think that the floors were washed between patrons. Our bathroom floor was sticky. We would have preferred to have a microwave - or at least access to one. Our fridge froze everything we put in it solid. The bed and pillows were extremely soft. Location is great.

A very bright and spacious building. It is clean and, based on its location, surprisingly quiet. Parking is underground, so leave the pickup truck at home. The breakfast was good, but if you are looking for a hot breakfast you will be disappointed. Staff was competent, and Josiane, who was responsible for the breakfast buffet, was very personable and helpful. The room was nothing special, and had no microwave or coffee maker, but was clean and comfortable.

Do not expect much when staying at the Spark Hotel. It’s more like a University dorm. Yes, the room is clean but that’s the only positive you will find. The staff seem like they are waiting for a better job and so it reflects in their current position. Housekeeping was missed and when I asked for fresh towels because our room was not clean, we have housekeeping the next morning hammering so hard on our room door that we were startled awake and how to say ‘sorry, we are still sleeping!!’ Ruined the whole experience there. Breakfast was a huge disappointment to say the least. Stale store bought, small, muffins, only put out each time in small amounts. Nothing warm at all, hard boiled eggs provided but cold and zero protein otherwise provided. Coffee was ok, but again the cups provided were an absolute joke. And again the staff at breakfast were irritated to be there, don’t bother asking for anything or get in their way. Paper plates and disposable forks and knives. Fruit provided was also a mere joke, banged up bananas or old, mealy apples. Only those two options. I will never stay here again, also not near anything like the Metro or sites…it’s literally on the busiest streets with an on ramp to the hwy in front of the building. Yes, it was priced economically but that’s what you get, don’t expect more then a hostel type stay.

The location of this hotel was not good. I didn’t feel safe driving down there. No room service, no places to eat near by and the breakfast was beyond disappointing.
The hotel cleanliness and the staff were the pluses but the overall experience was a 1 star.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, especially for the price!!! Pls don’t be fooled by “by Hilton” in the title. Overall a pretty awful choice on my part. Extremely overpriced for what we got.

This is apparently a brand new property and it's gorgeous. The breakfast is very basic but enough.
We checked in and didn't like our room so request to be changed. We had literally just checked in and were told because we booked through a booking site they couldn't move us. I didn't accept that though and thankfully we were moved. The first floor rooms are weird as the windows show out onto the corridor so you can't actually enjoy light from outside as you need the shaded curtain for privacy, hence us moving.

Staff was amazing. Front desk very professional and efficieint. The kitchen staff member that takes care of the breakfast was exceptional as she always greeted me every morning and asked how I was doing. Also, he cleared the plates and cups after I was done (even though I was heading to the garbage).

The only thing was the coffee, not the staff's fault, but the quality could use an upgrade.

But that is just nitpicking and I will definitely book all my stays here for Montreal.

The staff was outstanding but I can't see myself staying here again. The hotel is designed in a bizarre manner - it's incredibly long with check-in/breakfast at one end - you end up walking an incredible length to get to/from your room. I checked - it was about half a kilometer to walk from our room to the dining area and back.

Our room was clean and such, but we didn't have any glasses when we arrived (I walked to the dining area to get some) - and I couldn't control the temperature - at least I couldn't figure out how to control the temp.

Room was clean and spacious. Lots of underground parking. Breakfast is included but kind of lame. Many rooms are on the first floor and have windows facing into people's backyards or even weirder, into the hotel hallway. We kept the curtains closed most of the time because of this.

Clean and new. Hotel layout is strange, as it is a very long building but it’s new. Good for a short stay in Montreal. I appreciated the free parking. Breakfast was minimal and simple, but also complementary. Bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean. It was about a 8-10 minute walk to Snowdon Metro station.
I will certainly stay here again as long as the price is right.

We had a concerning experience during our stay due to a front desk error. We had already checked into our room the day prior, but another group was somehow assigned the same room. While we were inside, that group attempted to enter using their key, which was unsettling. If we hadn’t been in the room at the time, they would have been able to enter without us knowing, which raises concerns about room security. When we spoke to reception, they acknowledged it was their mistake and explained there had been a mix-up because both reservations had the same (or very similar) name. While we appreciate the explanation, this is something that should have been avoided.

Would also like to add when we returned back to the room, a pair of used blue plastic gloves had been left behind, which was unhygienic and reflected poorly on the cleaning standards.

Overall, the situation left us feeling uncomfortable, and the response did not fully reflect the seriousness of the issue. Unfortunately, there was little effort to make this right, and no meaningful compensation was offered despite the seriousness of the situation.

Layout of the building was strange as guest windows looked directly out into a hallway, which in turn looks out into a very busy road; for privacy reasons the curtain had to remain closed for the entire stay, making the room dark. Rooms were clean, as were shared spaces. Proximity to metro station was convenient, though the location is not the most pleasant at night.

The breakfast was very good. Maybe ancient grain bread or bagels would be added because not everyone eats white bread/bagels.
The only thing that the rooms lack is the slippers.
The idea of having a coffee machine in the lobby is very good, but the corridors are very long so it would be a good idea if another set of machines is placed near the elevator or half way through the corridor.
However, I can always be very to stay in the Spark hotel whenever I visit Montreal.
