The staff was very welcoming during my check-in, and the check-out process was quick and simple. The free parking was a bonus. The location is convenient for access to the highway and public transportation, with plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The room was clean, and the housekeeping service was excellent. The fitness and wellness facilities were great, and the outdoor swimming pool is perfect for a hot day.

My only complaint is that it was somewhat noisy due to the proximity to the highway and street. However, I enjoyed my stay.

I am writing this review with a heavy heart. I wish my stay at Ruby Foo’s went better than it did. When checking in, my friend and I got asked if we were there last week, to find out we were mistaken for some type of escort or another. They also denied me a basic necessity: toilet paper. I had to ask front desk a total of three times. First two times they said it would be in my room when I returned, but none was there. Had to ask one last time and wait at front desk to finally get some. Lastly, the WiFi was quite spotty, even for just one device. Even though I am giving the one star, housekeeping was very friendly and attentive when I was waiting for the toilet paper. Thank you.

The property was really close to the Metro. A lot of restaurants in the surrounding areas. Our bathroom did not have bath soap when we came in the room and had to request for it. The bath tub has a note saying something like you need to be careful and put a rubber mat but you also have to request it instead of being available to you (the tub is very slippery). The water pressure in the bathroom was so low (sink, toilet and shower).

Great stay. Lovely pool, solid hotel restaurant. Beautiful room and comfortable bed. Not the most convenient location in the city, but it's a half hour subway ride to downtown/Old Montreal, and the station is a block away. Plus the free parking is tough to come by on the island. Plenty of other guests, but never felt \"packed in.\"

Front desk people were amazing. Room was solid for what it is and what I paid. One thing I didn’t like was how I was woken every time someone went into their room. The doors were very tight and you had to pull it hard to get it to close which made it loud from the hallway. If they can fix that, I’d come back again. Staff was top notch!

Hotel is in a very solid location 5 minutes from Namur metro station, and is right across the road from the Orange Julep which is cool.

The hotel lobby is really modern, but the corridors feel a bit dated. The room itself was also a tiny bit worn out with some furniture needing to be replaced/touched up 5 years ago, and with bubbling wallpaper. The room also was very dusty after running the A/C for the day which wasn't great for congestion.

The king size bed was by far the highlight, the mattress and covers were very comfortable, but the pillows were a little bit soft.

The bathroom is a solid size, and the mirror is huge. The shower is a shower/bath combo with really good pressure, but the shower setup was really stiff and hard to angle. Products for the shower/bathroom were great, smelled lovely. Finally for the bathroom, our extractor fan was deafeningly loud, so we had to avoid using it which wasn't ideal.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and quick at check-in and out. There were also a pool, gym and sauna; we didn't use these, but they all looked great.

Overall I'd give this hotel a 6/10, which could easily be improved with some minor fixes. I'd stop here again given the price and rare occasion that parking is free in Montreal.

Parking:
Little confusing when you first get in as there’s no signing saying customer parking.

Elevators:
If you use the ones in the main lobby they are a good size and fairly quick. We said at the other end of the hotel on the second floor and the elevator was very small and took forever!

Air conditioning:
The hallways were soooo hot! You would be sweating just waiting for the elevators. Also, our rooms air conditioning never kept the room cold, we were hot more than not. I did speak to the front desk about this and they said someone was going to take a look (no idea if that happened as we were gone for the day)

Door Lock/Key Card:
Twice we got locked out of our room because my daughter accidentally touched the lock on the back of the door before shutting it. If you do this and not “reset it”, which we were told about after the second time, maintenance or someone at the front desk needs to let you in. It was very frustrating!

Room:
We had a double bed with pull out couch and kitchenette. Bed was good, pillows were a bit too soft for me. My daughters said the pull out couch was horrible. One daughter ended up sleeping with me and the other just slept on the couch. Also, they did not have any dish cloths or cup towels to wash and dry your dishes. I asked Josie keeping and they said they didn’t have those. I think that this is needed if you’re going to have a Kitchenette.

Overall we has a great stay, kids said the pool was nice and heated. I would stay again.

Room: super hot when I arrived around 8:30pm, in the morning I discovered I had no shower curtain, only three sugars and one creamer in the coffee tray (and a torn open empty pack sitting in it) but maintenance was fast to fix…tv very small, bed big and comfy, lots of pillows

Hotel restaurant is only open until 3pm, only has sparkling wine and fruit drinks…no evening lounge if looking to chill after a busy day and nothing super close…food in restaurant was delicious tho!

My partner and I stayed for two nights this time, so I didn’t request room cleaning. However, we used the coffee pods and asked for a refill. I was told there would be a $1.50 charge.

What felt a bit strange was that if I had requested room cleaning, the coffee pods would have been replenished at no extra cost. Since I was trying to be environmentally conscious and avoid unnecessary room cleaning, I ended up being charged for the pods instead.

In the end, when I checked out, the staff didn’t charge me, but the whole situation left me feeling a little uncomfortable.

Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

Stayed here with my family for two nights. The first day was pleasant, and the room was clean. Unfortunately, on the second day, we discovered water leaking from the bathroom exhaust fan directly above the toilet. We reported the issue immediately, and someone came to inspect it. Since the hotel was fully booked, we were told there were no rooms available to move us to.

By the evening, the leak had become worse and water was coming from additional areas of the ceiling. We reported the issue again, but nothing further could be done. The next morning, we could not use the shower, and even using the toilet was very inconvenient because water was dripping from above.

The staff were polite and apologetic, but the issue remained unresolved until checkout. While I understand that unexpected maintenance problems can happen, I was disappointed with how the situation was handled and the lack of any meaningful service recovery. I hope management addresses these kinds of issues more promptly in the future.
