The full size bed, ended up being two twin beds. The beds were hard, the room was cold and a bit outdated. There was an alarm going off for quite a while and it was just otherwise an overall noisy place as in, from inside our room, we could hear too many noises, voices. The staff were super sweet though.

The shower was very good and it was fairly clean but the facilities just not up to scratch. Two single beds on wheels, a Smart TV that you couldn’t get Netflix on and one of the noisiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Our door wasn’t particularly secure eitehr!

The reception staff were very helpful. Could have done with a kettle, tea and coffee in the rooms.
Very limited variety for breakfast and why was the tea making a jug of hot water?? Absolutely awful taste. Needs to be boiling water.
The bedrooms were basic but very clean and rather dark.

My partner and I had a very pleasant stay here. The hotel was affordable and clean. Most importantly, however, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful: 1. We had forgotten to bring adapters for our chargers and it being 11pm we couldn’t buy any, but the lovely receptionist had some on hand which he let us borrow. 2. Our flight was very early in the morning but we had no issues at all with our check out at 3am!! Overall it was a peaceful and smooth stay, and we hope to stay here again :)

This hotel does not have parking. You have to park on the street and the latest you can park is 9am. It is old and the air conditioning is noisy. It sounded like a washing machine was on all night. The TV was a small computer monitor. Not a hotel I would recommend.

We were very happy with this hotel. It's in a pleasant, very safe part of the city, maybe 20-minute walk from the beautiful city centre, and a similar walk to the spectacular science and culture park. The beach is a bit further but still walkable, but public transport is a very good option. The room was a good size and exceptionally quiet. It had a fridge, which was great.The a/c was not the best. The breakfast was very good, and all the staff were excellent.
We felt the hotel was outstanding value.
Valencia is a fantastic city - highly recommended for a 3 or 4 day break.

This hotel is a bit dated but the rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked. The staff on reception and in the breakfast room are all very friendly, helpful, cheerful and a credit to their hotel. The breakfast buffet is modest but perfectly enjoyable and maintained by enthusiastic ladies who are always smiling and chatting with customers. The reception staff are exceptionally pleasant and good humoured and made us feel very welcome. Very good value for money. The hotel is a little way out of the centre and about a 20 minute walk to Plaza de la Reina but there is a bus stop nearby and the beaches are easy to reach on the No 4 or 92.

the hotel staff are very rude. Restaurant staff left the kitchen door opened and performed the cleaning in the kitchen. The strong smell of cleaning the kitchen, dish washing, grease and odors affected customers sat besides the kitchen. The male and female restaurant staff ignored our concerns.

Great Little Hotel in Valencia

Hotel VillaCarlos is located outside of city center but an easy bus ride away. Staff were polite and spoke English, they had a very nice continental breakfast and there were lots of lower price restaurants in the neighborhood compared to city center. Hotel was very quiet which can be hard to find. No coffee in the lobby and no kettles in the rooms but they did have small refrigerators.

Breakfast was also good, the only thing I would improve was the air conditioning which wasn’t working properly, overall, I will definitely go back to stay with them next time I’m in beautiful Valencia.

If you travel with only your backpack, on a budget, for one night, then this is Ok for you. The parking facility is about 6 blocks away, and they do not validate the ticket, which could run at about 24 Euros for 24 hours parking. Also, if you like to sleep in a sauna room, it is perfect for you. The facilities are not bad, as wel as the room was clean. Breakfast is light, but good. The reception staff was not really friendly, but in the restaurant were very helpful. I will not stay in this hotel again. Not sure if it is a 3 stars hotel. I will consider it to be a 2 stars.

The windy city

Stop off whilst travelling back to the UK. Had a day and and a half here. Nice compact old town area with plenty to see and loads of bars and restaurants. Our stay was only spoiled by the wind which was strong, persistent and cold.
The Hotel is well situated with parking only a minutes walk away. Good breakfast, but expensive at 14€, discounted to 10€ for one day. Limited restaurant facilities in house, but loads outside. Generally, an excellent place to visit.

Firstly, Best feature was quietness of the hotel: asked for & was given a quiet room in the hotel on arrival as I am a light sleeper.
Secondly the cleanliness of the room each day was top drawer;
Thirdly buffet breakfast was excellent; some of the guests were eating sufficient amounts to get them through the entire day!
Generally the hotel was excellent value and its location gave the option to retreat from the busy city, for more relaxed, restive periods of the day. Rating closer to 4 star than 3 star.

Located to the east of the former Turia riverbed near the City of Arts and Culture, and some 15 minutes walk toward the port. A property that clearly succeeded our expectations where even if they advertise as a 3*, it feels more as a 4*. Very well maintained, clean and cosy, with friendly staff and the most important an extremely comfortable room, quiet and with good taste in the mobiliary. The breakfast was included with our rate and again, a nice deal with this. A choice of everything and good quality. Absolutely recommended to anyone for any length of stay.

A no frills hotel.

This hotel is located midway between the beach and the town centre. A half hour walk will take you to either or there is a good, cheap bus service nearby. The Turia is nearby with excellent walking or cycling along its entire route. Valencia is a great place to stay and the Spanish people are friendly and helpful. A little Spanish language is helpful although not necessary as most people speak a little English. Lots of cafes and bars wherever you go. The Central Market is a must with local produce on sale.

Good stay, room as requested (with nice view but lots of noises from the street - teriblle window soundproofing). No balcony and no place to dry your towels. Beds are on wheels which cannot be blocked and this can be quite uncomfortable. Good safe size and quiet fridge. Overall ok for the rate.

Villacarlos hotel was in close proximity to La Mary restaurant-excellent food. 15 minute walk got to to the Valencia beaches and marina-spectacular. A block passed Villocarlos Hotel turn right and head toward the City of Arts and Sciences. Very convenient.

We were impressed with the Villacarlos especially as they had remembered our request made by email some time ago for a room on one of the higher floors with a street view. It is a budget hotel but would come top of the list as everything provided was of the highest quality. Shampoo, shower gel and soap are provided and replaced as they are used and the room is cleaned, tidied and towels replaced everyday. They do not provide a kettle and tea making facilities but we took a travel kettle and provided our own. There is a fridge in the room which proved very useful for keeping the milk fresh. Our package did not include breakfast but we had it everyday (at a cost of 8.10 euros if ordered in advance) as it was so good and set us up for the day.

There a few restaurants within walking distance. We ate at Cerveceria Tapis which is just around the corner on the Carrer d'Eduard Bosca. The food was really tasty and economical and we liked it so much we went back a second night. We also ate at a Chinese restaurant called Tiananmen also close to the hotel (just off the Carrer de Josep Faus). The food was good and healthy but don't order all your courses at once - you'll get them all at once! Another night we caught a bus to the beach area (number 2) and ate at Pepitos. It seems to be a popular place but we didn't rate the food very highly.

The hotel is well placed for walking into town - we did it every time - but it is too far to walk to the beach (however the buses are very frequent).

We spent one of our days travelling to Sagunto by train where we walked up to the castle and Ampitheatre - well worth the visit.

We loved Hotel Villacarlos and would definitely stay there again.

Great for the metro station as well as walking distance from the main city and new town. 15 stops on the metro from the airport. 15/20 minute walk to oceanographic and science museum and 25 minute walk the other way to the city centre. Plenty of supermarkets and tapas bars near by. Continental breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Basic hotel but we left first thing in the morning and didn't return til bed so more than satisfactory :0) old river bank walk way very close and beautiful in both directions.

Great time but let down

This is a difficult review to write. Our second stay in Valencia following our week at NH Centre. So this year we decided on NH but in a different location to get another perspective. We chose VillaCarlos and booked through Expedia. Unfortunately Expedia did not pass on the change in ownership and so some of our plans were thwarted as was plan b. So having discovered by chance that VC was no longer NH we made some enquiries and ever the optimist we set off to Valencia. A little walk from Aragon metro we arrived and as the superior room,the one with balcony was taken,we settled in to room 301 on the front. A little small to what we are used to but with an empty fridge things looked up. The room was quiet, the bathroom good and bed was large enough! So after our initial grump we appreciated its advantages. It is quite central we could walk in to town, and with busses outside Valencia and beyond was near at hand. Number two to the beach, four to the town and no doubt three will take us somewhere. With an EMT card or two,that is another story, we were happy to spend our time at VC. No outdoor area is a down, taxi driver cerveseria helps but a quick walk takes you to Turia park, it is without doubt my number one reason for going to Valencia

Dark stuffy and rusty

Staff and location are the only good things about this hotel. It is situated within the walking distance to Amistat station (which brings you both to the airport and Renfe stations)and the City of Arts and Science. It takes not more than 25 minutes to get to the beach. There are at least three good supermarkets close to the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. But it was almost unbearable to live in the room provided to us. The hotel is constructed in such a way that the majority of hotel windows are not facing any street,but open into a well-like duct two by two meters. The duct itself is covered preventing any light and air from penetrating the room making it totally dark. We even had to go down to check the weather beacause we had no clue what it was like outside. The window faces the neighbour's window giving you no privacy and security at all as you can climb out of you window and go to your neighbour's just in 2 steps. But these are not the worst problems. There was no proper ventilation at all. Conditioning was really weak due to age. And because of the above described construction of the hotel it was not possible to ventilate it by opening the window-the fresh air could not get in at all. It was damp, stuffy and just awful. The room itself was old,worn out and with visible signs of dirt and rust making it unpleasant to use. The bed on wheels was another irritating thing. Overall the experience was unpleasant and we will definitely never come back to this hotel.

Close to the Arts and Science Centre

The hotel is close to city centre and easy to get on the public transport (bus). There were a bus stops on both the front and behind the hotel. Parking is a problem if you have a car. This hotel only got 2 parking spots and charges extra for it. The staff was quick to educate me on the parking colour code and advised me to try to find a white line on the road behind the hotel. I found one and parked our car there for 4 days. No problem at all. The staff were friendly, very helpful and provided us with a map of the city. Close to the beach 3.5 KM and to the Arts and Science Centre 2.5 KM. We walk to major attractions and good restaurants are all over the place.

Downsides are the very slow wifi and the fact that it's so far away from metro stations (Amistad and Aragon).

Amazing hotel

We absolutely loved our stay at NH Villacarlos. The room was cozy clean, the staff very polite and friendly. The shower kit did not only contain the usual shampoo and soap, but also included toothbrush and a sponge. Everything was perfect. The hotel is a walking distance (up to 30 min) from city center, but is a great value. This is by far the best hotel we have stayed in Spain, and of the best throught our extensive travels in general.

Het personeel is behulpzaam en altijd aardig. Kamer is klein, maar volstaat (hadden uitzicht op een binnenplaats, op andere huizen, maar lag niet aan de straatkant, dus heerlijk stil!)
Schoonmaak is redelijk goed, maar spinnenrag aan plafond kan beter.
Ontbijt is goed en uitgebreid, persoonlijk mis ik een eitje.
Hotel ligt centraal, binnen 10 min lopen in park, binnen 20 min lope op strand.
Goede prijs - kwaliteit!!!
Ik zou het weer boeken voor een bezoek aan Valencia.

The fact that it was a bit far from the center wasn't a problem at all. We walked everywhere, including the center and the beach, and the location is excellent. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and the price is reasonable.

OK hotell. Ganske gammelt og slitt med interiør fra noen tiår tilbake. Skitne vegger og karmer, med en del reparasjoner av type fugemasse, tapetstykker, sparkel og flekkvis maling. Mye trafikkstøy. Greit nok siden prisen var veldig god, men hele stedet må pusses opp.

Bra stor frokostbuffet og hyggelig betjening.

We verbleven 2 nachten hier: het was fijn dat we niet alleen de bagage al konden stallen, maar ook ons om konden kleden. Eerder inchecken kon en daarna alleen sleutel ophalen. Hadden tips over routes en waar we goed konden eten. Bedden en douche perfect, ontbijt ruime keuze en bleven ze aanvullen.

Gutes Mittelklassehotel

Zimmer gut eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Frühstücksbuffet einfach aber ausreichend. Vom Hotel aus erreicht man mit dem Bus den Strand und auch die Altstadt in 15 Min.

Heel fijn hotel, voelden ons veilig in de buurt, goede verbinding naar centrum en strand, vriendelijk personeel, schone kamer, fijne airco. Kortom, wij zouden hier zo weer boeken.

O hotel é bom. Mas o quarto 502 estava com muito barulho no ar condicionado, incômodou bastante na primeira noite. Reclamei no dia seguinte, mas não foi resolvido o problema. Não solicitei mudar de quarto porque só fique duas noites. Mas houve esse desconforto na hospedagem

Sehr kleines Zimmer und für ein 3-Sterne-Hotel sehr spartanisch eingerichtet. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr überschaubar - die Obstauswahl bestand nur aus vorgeschnittenen winzigen Häppchen. Kaffeeauswahl war sehr bescheiden, die Kaffeemaschine war auch sehr langsam. Bei Vollbesetzung des Hotels hätte man wahrscheinlich auf den Kaffee verzichtet...

Il minimo indispensabile. Pagato 80€ a notte ma per le condizioni della camera (bagno arrugginito letto scarsissimo e muri con un po’ di muffa) avrei voluto pagare di meno. Lo staff comunque gentile e disponibile e nel complesso è andata vene :) per spendere poco
