The hotel was clean, spacious reception with excellent helpful staff. Room more than adequate for a one night stay, very comfortable.
Hotel was ideally situated between the Arts and Sciences and the old town. It was by the bus stop for the hop on hop off bus which ran fairly frequently.
Breakfast was excellent, catered for all with full and continental.
Would rebook if in Valencia again.

We were given room 1001...on the 10th floor, at the end of the corridor and away from the elevators so it was nice and quiet. And extremely spacious!
The breakfast buffet was fantastic...lots of choice, sweet and savoury, a variety of hot and cold drinks.

Hotel seems a little dated and I would consider it over priced for the accommodations had.
Very small room and air conditioning was barely adequate to cool the room.
Breakfast was OK. Nothing special but adequate.
Overall - an OK place to stay but nothing special.

Overall pretty good. AC in the rooms and upper floors was definitely not functioning properly. Our thermostat said it was set to 18° C but it felt like 24° or 25° C. It was also muggy on every level except the base floor. Other than that everything wasn’t bad. Probably our least favorite stay in Spain compared to 4 other hotels but still not bad over all.

Excellent central location to the beach and towns, comfortable beds, lovely breakfast but the rooms are old and tired and very dark. The floors are peeling, furniture is chipped, soap dispensers kept falling off the wall. Shower only worked after modifying. The pool tiles are quite mouldy and the water quite dirty as are the ceiling filters in reception. Limited options for an evening vegetarain meal rhatbhad been paid for in advance so had to dine out. The staff in the dining room work extremely hard but i didnt like seeing cloths used for tables being used for the chairs that have had skin on and kids shoes! Ive stayed in better lower star Eurostars hotels in Valencia so this was all round disappointing

I've been to 63 countries and Rey Ex Don Jaime has been the best personal I've dealt with regarding the professionalism and the kindness, thank you to the reception crew Eloi, Raquel, Salvador, Enrique, Sofia, Tomas, Carlota, Jose, Oscar, Santi, Giorgia, Angels, and the best manager Teresa. I can't stop talking about the food at the hotel that very exceptional and delicious, the chefs should deserve to be recognize, thank you to Gerry, Alba, Sebastian, and Lucia for being the best chefs at a hotel chain. In addition thank you to the dinning crew and bar personal Zynab, Javi, Fernando, Felix, ria, Ghizlan 1 & 2, Lucia, Marci, Leire, Laura. lastly Vilma, yolanda for making my room comfortable and Olver, Nildo. Raquel from events as well.

On entering the hotel the Property looked nice and was lovely and cool.
We were dissapointed with the comfort of the beds and asked for topas, Air conditioning was not cool enough so room was stuffy.
Pool area was very disappointing for our entire trip we was not able to use as the beds were limited so had no where to be comfortable or leave towels while we took a swim. There is a large outside space where another pool could be located or at least beds positioned with covers from the sun.
The gym is very disappointing limited space and equipment is well past its date with rust showing.

Good location halfway between beach and old town (though I don’t recommend the beach for swimming, dirty sand, floating plastic and oily water). Pool… not really. Small, mold growing around greasy pool edge. Breakfast good. Lots of options, even gluten free. Most of staff very nice; one barman was rude; later I ordered a Caesar salad and received it topped with salted mayo in place of dressing. It was inedible. I did not touch it. They asked why. The “chef” came out and shoved the bottle of dressing in my face. I paid. A woman had just checked in, she came down and showed the desk staff a photo on her phone and said, what animal is this? The staff responded “we don’t know” She asked could you Please remove it from my room. I’ll never know what it was. Thankfully we were leaving.
4 stars? I don’t think so.

This hotel needs to be upgraded. The air conditioner doesn’t work. The rooms smell like sewer or smoke. We requested to change our room to another but it was smaller and same thing. We could not turn off the lights because the switch for the lights were connected to the charging plugs. We ended up unscrewing the light bulbs.
t I do not recommend to anyone to stay here unless they update it.

The property can't offer a Triple Room at 300-400 euros per night, stazing they have a TV working in the room, while they know very well the room is not connected to Cable / SAT services, but just to aerial TV with 2 local channels only. Air-condition was not working because it is spring (not summer yet...) but this not Scandinavia. 26°c is quite hot... the closet was not in the room but in the bathroom... really? Is this the right place for keeping my clothes? Near to the water, impregnated with the humidity of the shower room and odor of the toilet room?

Great stay, would go back in a heartbeat

I would highly recommend Exe. We stayed on a half-board basis, and the food in both, breakfast and dinner, were outstanding. So was the service provided by all the staff members everywhere, dining, and lobby.
Very close to the more modern section of the City; yet still walkable (30 min) to old town.

The best hotel so far from the 3 months I’ve stayed in Spain. Person very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, organized, well managed, and super kindhearted. I have been in this property on and off for the past month for a total of 24 days that I even missed the hospitality of the hotel when I left out of town. Can’t believe the hotel is well managed by Alvaro, Teresa, Noelia! Reception is beyond helpful on how to get around Valencia, shout out to Salvador, Georgia, Pepe # 1, Pepe #2, Santi, Jose, Elot, Carlota, Oscar, Raquel and all of them are super friendly. The bar personal was beyond my expectations as well along with the restaurant crew. Special thanks to Xavi, Antonio Fernando, Gigi #1 & #2 along with Felix. The restaurant has excellent food as well. I’ve been to the hotel chain of Senator and it does not compare to the management of this hotel. I totally recommend it for anyone that visits Valencia. Thank you Exe Rey Don Jaime for the hospitality!!!!!!!

This hotel has a great roof bar with a pool, great views of the city, a nice gym area, a sunny outside rooftop area, good food, and the staff were my favorite while in Spain. I stayed at a few places. The morning crew were helpful and had a good sense of humor. I would stay here again for sure.

I've already spoken to the Reservations manager are having paid my account and commented that none of the room phones worked so I could not order room service or even work out how to see the menu. This meant I had to dress and go downstairs to the bar to order drinks. As you can imagine to be reminded by Barman I could do it on my phone was irksome beyond belief

The reviewers who rated this property \"upscale\" have probably never stayed in upscale properties. The only thing going for this property is the location. The upscale nature of the property ends with the reception. The rooms are in terrible condition especially the air conditioning. I checked in late (around mid night). When I entered the room, it smelled (as the room) probably didnt have any ventilation for days and the temperature was 23C in the room. I went back to the reception and the only thing the staff could offer me is an apology and an advice to keep the window open. Regretfully, I took their advice and tried to go to bed. Woke up severely tired and then full of mosquito bites. I had asked the night staff to let the duty manager know that the AC in my room is not working. The maintainance staff was supposed to fix it but even after fixing it the room went from 23C to 22.5C. If you are planning to stay in this property, better bring your own fan! I would not recommend this property to anyone. Truly sub par!

It's alright...

Lobby and bar area of the hotel are lovely but that's probably about it for what's positive. The rooms could do with an update. Good size room but looking a bit tired. Booked a room with city view but was just looking at one big building next to the hotel. The Aircon doesn't work and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. No fan or window in the bathroom.

Very prompt attention from reception on arrival. Our room however, seemed like it was under a function suite on the Saturday night. Rest of stay was peaceful. Bed amazing. Power cut for two hours on last night. Didn’t cause us any issues. Location for centre of town, beach and science park superb.

Staff were not particularly warm or welcoming. I was disappointed that the pool was not open, as I had specifically chosen this hotel for the fact that it had a pool. (open Jun-Aug).
Breakfast was very hit-and-miss. Huge buffet selection but not all of it good. Bacon and eggs were cold and quite disgusting, churros were dry and tough. Nice selection of fruit and cakes/pastries though.

Staff lovely but service terrible, cost us 100 euro because they forgot to book our taxi the night before we had a tour which we missed, no refund, Expedia put the wrong photo up with the wrong description and price or Eurostar gave us the wrong room two days at reception and on phone calls no response no one gave us our room nor a refund for the difference, 3 days no internet in the room no reason just empty promises it would work later, no iron in room, spent 3 days calling and being told they would send one to my room only to get a broken one and no replacement, so couldn’t iron my clothes, late for tours and lost fees no discount for being in an economy room and no one would help in either Expedia or hotel don’t pay these guys up front!

I will never stay here again. Obviously 4* doesn’t mean what it used to. During our recent winter stay, Valencia has been unseasonably warm and in spite on room temps approaching 30celcius, there was nothing they could (or would?) do to enable cooling the room. Needless to say, 3 nights of zero sleep. They changed us to another room but it was just the same. We paid for an upgraded room and it was a joke. The condition of the floors was well past the point where they should have been replaced. Laminate plank floors which had gaps that were perfect to stub your toes on. They also had lots of water damage. The pool was closed - fine, it’s winter but the access to it is down a back hallway that’s like a hidden forgotten space. Ditto for the sun terrace - which we didn’t try to access because the door said emergency access only which where I come from means a fire alarm is going off if you go through that door. Another ditto for the “gym”, a term which I use loosely…you have to go outside, past the pool access and open another glass door - no cooling, south/west facing so extremely hot. The gym contained a small rack of free weights, 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical (non-programmable) and one stationary bike also very basic, not programmable. The lobby and public areas of the ground floor have a very unpleasant odour of air freshener that must be getting pumped in as it is constant and unbearable. If you have asthma, this is likely not the place for you. One word to describe? Horrible!!

Overall ok, and at a reasonable price for the location. However, the double bed is two singles, the beds are uncomfortable. The gym, is hidden down a dark and I would say, dangerous unlit path. The gym is in need to care, the pool was closed throughout. There is no indication of room charges in the room.
The food in the bar is good if simple.

Hotel was pleasant enough. Rooms are in need of updating, especially the bathrooms where the seal around the bath was agreed and discolored.
The cleanliness of the room could also do with being better with dust and hair on the floor around the floor lamp.
Breakfast was good, a good variety of pastries, fruit, Cereal and drinks.
Not a 4* in my opinion.

The hotel has a nice lobby with an upscale room. The only problem was not having indivual AC control (it is set by management) and my room stayed somewhat warm during my stay (it was a hot summer so a cooler room would have been much better). The location is OK for the City of Arts but far from the historical old section which is the jewel of Valencia. Next time I will chose a property in the old Town.

We got no sleep during our first two nights because the aircon wasn't working. We reported it twice and twice they said they would send somebody to check it but we heard nothing back. On the third day we were told that the government had forced them to limit the aircon to 27 degrees which is why it wasn't working. It would have been nice to have been told that originally, and warned about that before we had arrived or booked.

In addition to this the pool was absolutely tiny with a severe lack of any character, facilities, or shade, and the pool bar was pretty much a shack next to it. The \"solarium\" was a piece of roof that was covered in thin fake grass with aircon duct outputs dotted here and there, and no sun loungers - people were just lying on the floor!

We had to leave the hotel and go to Vincci Mercat which was cheaper, better located, nicer and had better service and conditions.

Good hotel located close to the palace de arts, easy to access by car and good secure parking. Room was spacious.

Reception staff were helpful and breakfast was a wide spread.

Downside, very poor WiFi with weak signal in room.

compared to my last stay at this hotel which was great, this stay reminded me of my first. The throw on the bed looked like a cat had clawed it, there was also some staining. The linen, towels was grey and uninviting to use. The breakfast was excellent, dinner was good. Hopefully I will be staying again later this month with friends...

I will NOT be staying again. 1st night, I got bite by bedbugs. I have pictures of the bites and even found the bedbug. I told the front desk I wanted to change rooms because of the bedbugs, which they gave me another room. I had to ask for them to wash my clothes they didn't even offer. I checked my new room for bedbugs, didn't see anything as first. When I returned, later that night (I was at a conference all day), I found the bedbugs crawling on the bed. So I took my stuff and headed back downstairs and asked them for another room which they gave me (I should have just checked out from the first night). They just apologized and gave me another room. They didn't even seem concerned to come and check the room. I had to throw out my pajamas and clothes that were laid on the bed because bedbugs are not guaranteed to be killed by just washing the clothes. I asked them for some credit to get new pjs and some clothes but they didn't want to do anything. So I checked out 1 night early and they didn't want to even give me a partial refund. They told me to work it out with Expedia. Expedia has contacted them 3 times and they won't pick up the phone for them either. On top all of this, the rooms smell smokey and they don't have a good restaurant or room service in the hotel.

Lovely hotel great location

Lovely hotel in between beach and main cultural attractions also close to modern arts complex. Breakfast was a bit fraught because of volume and people being people!!
