We booked the night away for our 11 year wedding anniversary, expecting to get a more peaceful night's sleep then we do with a small child at home. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Throughout the night we were woken up by doors slamming and banging. By 6am, we decided to give up and head home. Visiably shattered when the receptionist asked how our stay was; we explained that's it was not good. The receptionists response was to offer us a complimentary coffee. The food, drink and service in the bar were great, it's just a shame a terrible night's sleep ruined the experience.

This is a fantastic small hotel, lovely rooms and service. The room was extremely comfortable and a nice size, and the furnishings / finishings were lovely. I to a beautiful building as well with a fascinating history - visit the bar to see remnants of the old courthouse.

The restaurant was closed when we were there, although the bar was serving a subset of the restaurant menu. Food was underwhelming and overpriced but you’re in the middle of foodie heaven in this area so there are plenty of options around.

Staff at The Dixon are extremely kind and accommodating! I was very tired from a long travel day and they got me into a room very early in the day which I greatly appreciated. I decided to stay an extra day and the reception staff was super helpful and let me keep the same room :) Second time staying here and I will absolutely return for a 3rd

Great on reception as offered flavored water and cookies! Also had early check in which was great. Our room was stunning but there was an initial bad drain smell. I suspect the room possibly hadn’t been used for a few days. After showering the smell went. Comfy bed and peaceful too!
Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice too.

Everything was lovely but our room left very claustrophobic, and closed in. Because our room was small and the air conditioning was set at 22 degrees, it made the room really hot and and not windows to be opened. luckily it was only for one night!

Experience with staff and processes was poor, from check- in to check out. Was given a disability accessible room, and not informed or asked about it- only found out when I walked into room. Told I could only ask for a late check out the next morning. Randomly being woken up at 9am by cleaning staff, claiming a request was made. Even up to now a £50 hold from my card was made, and has still not been released 10 days later. When I asked for a receipt, was told I could not get one since it was a hotels.com booking.si hotebooking.

The staff were exceptional. Tamang checked us in and out. He was so helpful assisting with my husband who is on crutches and considerate with the anniversary treats sent to our room.
Breakfast had a good choice and was being frequently replenished.
The room was very very quiet and we both slept well.

We had a fantastic stay! The room was beautiful and very comfortable, and the bathroom/shower was amazing. The location is perfect—just a short walk to Tower Bridge and lots of great spots in the area. First impressions were really good however for a 4 star hotel the cleanliness was a slight let down, the main stair way was dirty, and more attention to detail in the rooms as it was generally dusty and still had hair on the floor from a previous occupant.

Also the Tv didn’t have any streaming options or access to Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. And the Tv wouldn’t connect to any device to stream remotely.

Breakfast was ok and just again general cleanliness under tables/floor area needs more attention.

Staff were really helpful and friendly on booking in, and it was a nice touch to have our bags in our room when we returned to check in.

The bed was nice and comfortable and overall the room was very nice and quiet too, apart from a the air conditioning system which was a little tricky to use/turn off.

Overall though we had a nice stay for the short period we were there.

The location was stunning. However, the check in? We were asked what time we would like breakfast, which the staff knew we had not included in our package, therefore, they were about to add a further £36 to our bill, without checking whether we would actually choose to have it. Also, the gentleman I spoke to over heard me say that, on booking we should be told that photo id was required upon check in. There were 3 others checking in, who were also unaware. This receptionist, was clearly not listening to me and dismissed my comments as seemingly irrelevant, very unprofessional, as my comments were to help this process. I think it is a little over kill with the security, as most checking has already been done at this point and £50 taken as security however, if that is your policy so be it.
When asking for a taxi 30 mins before we needed it, I did not expect it be another 20 mins. Traffic is always a nightmare in London but I do not believe that the young receptionist rang or contacted the taxi company very quickly, hence the delay. The train station is 13 mins walk away, so taxis are always around. At the time of booking, instead of looking me in the eye and saying, “Yes, I will do that right away”, giving me confidence that it will be done. She tapped furiously on the computer, without giving me any eye contact and left me hanging whilst I walked away thinking it would be done. She very kindly hailed a taxi for us, which we could have done, if we had known that was quicker.

Hotel was in a great location south of Tower Bridge, so easy walking for all things on that side of the river. Half way between London Bridge and Bermondsey. We didn't have breakfast there as we preferred to go out, and only had bar snacks and drinks in the evening which were good. Seating on the raised area is comfortable, I found the lower area a bit draughty. My husband didn't like the background music, but he's old ;) Room and beds comfortable, Nespresso coffee machine was very slow and had to be pushed several times to get a decent portion. Bit disappointed that the milk wasn't replaced after the first day, nor the cups/glasses washed, but the bed was made and the bins emptied. Perhaps an oversight? Bit odd with the door to the bathroom sliding over the cupboard. Clever idea, except with the lighting being automatic so wakes the other person if you get out during the night.

The Dixon came recommended by a coworker. One of the first things I did once I left London was to thank him for the recommendation. The hotel was immaculate. Clean, the decor was beautiful, and the staff was fantastic. They had a room ready for me at 9 am which was a Godsend because we were on an overnight flight and got zero sleep. A short nap re-energized us so we could enjoy London that day. Thank you Dixon

Overnight stay for Valentine’s Day. Room upgraded on arrival. Complimentary chocolate and cookies at reception. Plenty of references to the buildings history (magistrates court and prison) - ask a member of staff for guided tour! ‘Spoiler Alert’ look out for the handcuffs on the chandelier in the entrance lobby. Hotel spotless, and staff keen to be if service. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked for another night !

The property is lovely. Great location. Friendly staff. What I did not like: significant steps to get to the front door, if you have more than a carry on, you will be in trouble. Someone is there sometimes but not always(in my case no one was there upon arrival or departure). Only one elevator worked while I was there.

Thermostat did not wok in my room. I callwdnthree times, when the manger came, he tried fixing(it was extremely cold) but to no avail. Instaed of offering to switch my room, he offered to give me an extra blanket. When the blanket arrived.it looked like they just took it off another bed to give to me, He had to reassure me thst the blanke was clean.

The hotel is lovely, my situation (blanket) is really just a matter of training.

We booked this property last minute, due to not liking the original hotel we booked using points. It ended up being great! Walking distance to the tower bridge and the Tower of London. Many nearby restaurants, and loads of public transportation options. Only negative would be room size. You really had no where to put your clothes other than hanging them up. A small dresser would be appreciated. We had a King deluxe room

Very nice hotel. We booked a dog friendly room and the hotel is advertised as “dog friendly”. It isn’t.

We checked in, went to the room and then went out for a walk, on the way out we were asked to fill in a form about the dog which asked for a £50 dog supplement! As well as a damage disclaimer. The document also stated that the dog was not allowed in any food and beverage areas!

It was a shock to learn of the £50 fee and this should be clear on the website.

We had to get a pizza delivered and ate in the room and had to cancel breakfast as we could not use the buffet.

It was difficult to eat in the room as there was only one chair and a tiny table.

There was a dog bowl and very small dog bed which was good and the dog friendly rooms are on the ground floor which makes it easier with a dog. However not allowing dogs into any other parts of the hotel makes it very awkward.

Disappointing stay in nice hotel in great location.

We stayed in August it was not to hot out but our room a/c was not working at all. They changed our room for us the next day so that was great. The sinks in bathroom in both rooms clog to the point where you can only use them once until housekeeping comes and cleans the room:/ With 2 girls in a room this was an issue. Location is literally around the corner from Tower Bridge, so if you want to be in that area it’s great. Walk to subway’s is about 15 min. It’s a very historical old hotel that’s been renovated.

Sewing bee weekend trip!

Very comfortable and a quality hotel, that is affordable. Friendly staff. On arrival check in; told twin room wasn’t available as booking from months in advance. Due to a twin adjoining room request from other guests. Hence Offered up grade at no extra cost but a put up bed in room, which was a little disappointing to offered a put up bed. Thankfully another lady turned up at reception and re arranged other guests- allow us a twin room as our booking. Perfect comfort stay, rooms are lovely and air con that’s quiet, there are safes in the rooms too as website states deposit box at reception. No biscuits to go with lovely tea or coffee machine in room! Lovely toiletries in room and tone with slippers- nice surprise!
Made cleaned very well too.

Staying in London while celebrating my sister’s birthday, who had accompanied me. Booked a twin room also put a note on the booking about the reason for the stay. Checked in and I feel as though I was duped. I booked a twin room, and when the receptionist asked whose birthday it is. I said it was my sisters. And he said he will try to do something for us. He asked if we can use a double bed instead of twin. So that he can upgrade us. To a room with a view. I thought he was being kind, he gave me two options, one was an accessible room and the other was a lower ground floor. I was told the view on the lower ground floor room was very nice. I believed him. It is safe to say it seems he didn’t have a twin room for me and wanted to put me in any room at all. Or he just lied. I was in room 6. No one would describe a white brick wall, as a view. On some of the sunniest days of the year, we kept the curtains drawn the whole weekend. Also I found it extremely difficult to call the reception. They take a very very very long time to answer the phone. I called at 4 separate occasions. One of which, was after I left the hotel. A few minutes after leaving I called to double check I would have the room cleaned. It was quiet around the hotel when I was leaving, I had the phone disconnected after a few rings at times or they were simply not answering, for 15 minutes. All in all the staff are not so good in my experience. But apart from that, it was a nice hotel. Clean and comfortable.

The Dixon is a great hotel, however I've gone to use points that I've accumulated from hotels.com to pay for my hotel, and instead they've charged me £169.31. I shouldn't be charged and if I can't use points, then this hotel should say they're exempt from it. I'm really annoyed

I have never given a bad review ever but this hotel was awful and I want to make sure others know how bad it is. It's not worth ten dollars a night, let alone what I paid for it. The hotel is very run down and is very out dated. It looks like it may have been an extremly nice place in the 1970s but it's very obvious that there is no one maintaining this property. The huge rug right inside of the lobby was filthy and discolored which should have been my first clue of what the rest of my stay was going to be like. The hot water handle in the bathroom was broken and didn't turn on. The cold worked but the facet itself dripped continuously as well. The bathroom had no wash cloths and the hand towels in the bathroom looked like linen napkins and were practically useless. The room was dirty, run down and was in very poor condition. The door handle on the armoire was broken and all of the furniture in the room was in very poor condition. It made a motel 6 in the States look like a dream in comparison. The bed sheets were clean but the beds were very firm. The location was also in a run-down area of town. The breakfast was not awful but it wasn't good either. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. For the same cost you can stay in a much nicer place.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel! The location was amazing, just a stone's throw away from the iconic London Tower and surrounded by great dining options. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable space to relax after a day of exploring the city. What truly made my stay special was the warm and friendly staff who were always ready to assist with any requests or recommendations. Enjoyable and pleasant stay

We only stayed for 1 night but we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and history of the hotel. The staff were friendly and the hotel was a really beautiful place to stay.

Lovely hotel, the room was interesting and the shower wash fantastic. Loved that you can cast to the TV, and the whole building was very interesting.staff are really friendly.
Only reason it dropped a star was I had agreed a late checkout on check-in - I was disturbed 3 times (housekeeping a phonecall from reception then a visit at the door) to ask why I hadn't checked out yet... Not very relaxing and made me feel a bit unwelcome. Ended up leaving early despite paying for late checkout.

Night away

We had a lovely stay away for my partners birthday, the staff decorated the room with cake and a balloon. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly.

Unique, character hotel. I can’t remember what room we booked, but I believe we upgraded a notch or two and our king room was a good size with a huge bathroom. Our friends booked entry level and their rooms were quite a bit smaller.

Lovely staff. Enjoyed the bar. Good location; quick walk to the tower. You can catch the tube on the other side of the bridge, but apparently there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel that will take you to the tube station. If you walk to the waterfront there are restaurants, pubs, and shops.
