We found the front desk staff to be pleasant and the room was clean. Location is good with easy walking to many downtown venues. Breakfast was fairly underwhelming, however, and when we asked the attendant to clean our table (which was sticky and messy from previous desks) we were told to get a napkin and do it ourselves because there was no spray cleaner. This of course was bogus because we could see cleaners in her kitchen area.

It was one of the worst places I’ve stayed at. They wouldn’t accommodate moving me rooms, I heard every single noise, from garbage trucks, motorcycles and street sweepers. Then there was homeless people all around. I heard every curse word possible. They only wanted to move the rooms above mine which they said was the same as my room. I would still hear everything. The room was nice not just the day staff and the location. We decided to check out a day early and lost the money for the second night. Sadly I will never use them again.

I am giving this hotel a 1‑star rating solely due to its surrounding environment. For anyone new to San Francisco and looking to stay in the downtown area, I strongly recommend choosing a location far from this property. It is situated on Eddy Street, which is widely regarded as one of the roughest parts of downtown.

The moment you step outside, the area feels unsafe. The streets are heavily littered, including animal and human waste (an unpleasant and overwhelming sight and smell). You are immediately surrounded by a large homeless population, and the noise level remains high throughout both day and night, making restful sleep extremely difficult. I heard three gunshots, which added more to my anxiety.

The silver lining is the hotel staff. They were consistently warm, supportive, and went out of their way to assist and guide guests. Their professionalism was the best part of my stay, and they deserve recognition for working under such challenging conditions.

While the staff was kind, and the room was spacious, comfy, and clean, we clearly booked a room with a king bed and pullout couch, but our room didn’t have any sort of couch at all. We expected to have another bed option. We were in a hurry to get to our event, so we didn’t have time to ask them to resolve it. We also chose this hotel for the breakfast option, which on hotels.com says runs between 6am-9am. We had to leave by 6:30am, and the breakfast didn’t actually start until 7, so we had to find breakfast elsewhere, which was a bummer.

There's a column blocking a parking space right outside the laundry area. The Twin parking spot in front of the receptionist is so tight. Once you park tour car you cant get out of the car. Overall parking situation in this property is very silly. Like forcing something to function as something else well outside of its intended design. Elevator is really slow and tight.

The front desk staff is managing a lot including security. When we arrived we had to wait outside in the cold weather because there was nobody inside. We had to ask for body wash 3 times and didn’t get any. We had to look for housekeeping to get some. The breakfast part is very small and it gets crowded easily. The potatoes were not cooked on the two days we ate there. The trash was overflowing, only one person was working in the kitchen, cooking, restocking and cleaning while using a crutch. Very disappointed

The room was actually very nice and clean. Parking is extremely difficult unless you’ve rented a Fiat. There are limited parking spaces and concrete pillars in the way. Most times it took at least a few turns to maneuver in and out. We never were out early enough for breakfast. Breakfast is from 7-9. You cannot go out after dark on the streets. Homeless camps and drug deals abound, but if you leave in the morning and come home and stay in your room, we felt perfectly safe!!

This property has new updates so it was very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. The surrounding area was a little sketchy. There are A LOT of homeless people. Top level parking is difficult to move around and lower level parking is very limited. Room 204's shower door was out of alignment and didn't fully shut properly. This caused the bathroom floor to be wet. Cleaning crew started at 6 a.m. which was a bit too early for us. Front desk staff is friendly.

The property itself was very good. The immediate surroundings had multiple vagrants around it however. The staff was very good. Overall cleanliness was very good but unfortunately we found what appeared an old blood stain on the bedsheet of the lower part of the bed. We got in late and we’re too tired to deal with it so we just put a towel over the stain and went to bed. I notified the staff in the morning. I would stay here again but unfortunately my wife would not.

A great little gem within walking distance from lots of places. The night manager and the day manager both of are fantastic & helpful. Great room size and breakfast. The only thing I found unpleasant was bloodstained blanket. I know it's tough to control everything but it should not be unnoticed given the size of it.

It was a good hotel. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning and keeping up with the space. I arrived early to the hotel and they kept my luggage for me until it was time to check into the hotel. Overall it was a great experience.

Pros: I loved the cleanliness of the room, modern and pleasant. I enjoyed the breakfast & the coffee machine with lattes. I also enjoyed the shampoo and body wash in a pump rather than microscopic tiny jars. That was a big plus for me.
Cons: The front desk staff was not very welcoming. They seemed annoyed whenever i had a question.
No security guard at night. And parking was a bit tricky. Would i stay again? Yes.

The reviews for this property are lacking big time. The hotel itself it nice, however, the area that it’s located in is horrible. The homeless shelter is less than a block away so there are several people all over the street and a good majority of them were visually on drugs when they couldn’t even stand up straight “slumped”. The area feels very unsafe and the hotel garage says you cannot leave or re-enter after 9pm. That should tell you all you need to know. I will say that The staff is friendly and the room was nice, however it was so uncomfortable of an area that we never even stayed at the hotel. We left an hour after we checked in. If your pricing is cheap you’ll see why when you arrive.

Great property so close to everything! The staff were so kind and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodate our needs. You can tell they really care about their guests. The breakfast was great - eggs, sausage, waffle maker, yogurt, etc. Room was very clean

It was ok , they have secured parking and the breakfast is available. The room that I used was 308 , the bathroom is huge and the room is big enough for my husband and I , the only problem is the smell when you enter the room and also the cabinet has a foul smell, if they cannot clean it with bleach take it out of the room. It smells like homeless person lived there for a while.

I loved how clean this hotel was and the free continental breakfast. Was also very happy with how helpful, nice, and accomodating the staff was. I was very happy that the entire time my friend and I stayed here, we were able to keep our car parked in their parking garage and how safe it was. (It was so hard trying to find a hotel that has free, onsite covered parking that is secured.) I wouldn't mind staying at this hotel again if I decide to book a hotel room in San Francisco again. My only gripes were stressing out about checking out on time because there was only 1 elevator available and it was kind of slow. My other gripe was that Expedia, it said breakfast was 7am to 10am, but upon checking in, the front desk receptionist advised that breakfast was only from 7am to 9am. Other than that, would definitely come back here.

I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. Not only was it in a really bad part of SF (lots of drugs and homeless), but the hotel itself was not good. The parking lot is tiny and hard to move your car in if you have anything bigger than a compact car, you can hear EVERYTHING outside of your room (garbage trucks, sirens, people yelling, etc.) I barely slept because I was constantly awaken by LOUD noises. Our door didn’t shut unless we SLAMMED it, and by the sounds of it most other rooms were the same, our carpet had a huge hole/tear in it, our bedding had a huge rip in it, our soap dispenser was empty. The list goes on. I will say the employees at the front desk were very nice. But we did have a weird experience where the housekeepers came in our room and took the dirty towels from only our bathroom and didn’t do anything else. They didn’t leave fresh ones, they didn’t grab the ones by the bed, they didn’t change the sheets, (not that we wanted them to) but we just felt it was strange and didn’t feel comfortable having our belongings there when we weren’t there.
This was a long review, but I will never recommend this hotel to anyone, I did not feel safe.

Time for a new floor

The carpet has to go! Hard floor is much easier to keep clean. We aired out the room to be able to cover the dirty carpet smell. Otherwise, the bed and room were clean. Service and breakfast were good

Great Place . But NO curtains !

I've stayed here numerous times over the years . Great staff , great location , lots of exciting street life/drama to watch after hours lol .
BUT this time I was given an ally facing view (ie no view at all) and NO curtains on the huge windows ! There was wooden shutters that when closed tightly blocked maybe 60% of the sunlight that pours in a 7am !
I'm used to sleeping in until at least 11am so that first morning was a real shocker lol .
Just a heads up : bring a nice big thick dark blanket (and tape) to hang in front of the windows and your stay will be awesome .
