A modern hotel in Dossenheim with comfortable bedroom and bathroom and nice big window to balcony. Very comfortable bar/sitting area/breakfast area on 3rd floor with views to the mountains. Staff were delightful and very helpful. Good off road parking under the hotel. Only 5 mins walk away No5 tram goes into centre of Heidelberg (€3.40). Would stay here again if in the area.

Well what a strange combination of hotel and location we have here! Midori The Green is a very modern hotel which seems to be geared towards business travellers situated in the middle of the small sleepy town of Dossenheim. Be warned - there is not much to do within walking distance! Anyway, we stayed for 2 nights and the hotel was acceptable for our needs.

Great Value, Rooms can be warm

The hotel was great and priced well. They allowed our dogs to stay, as well, for a small fee. The automated check in process seemed to have a problen and I was directed to go to the 3rd floor and check-in in person. Not a big deal at all. The stay was nice and the breakfast was worth the €10. The only issue we had is that the room was very warm in the evening and a bit difficult to sleep. We had our window open and tried to cool the room down but it didn't help much. Overall a nice place!

There is no one there to greet you or check you in, they have put a machine where you check yourself in manually. We even handed our cards to the cleaner as there wasn't anyone there for checkout.
There are no basic amenities in the room, such as tea or coffee, or at least a bottle of water. The place appeared to be modern and have amazing reviews but then there was no air conditioning and not even a fan to keep you cool so you are forced to have the (one) window open, and with the hotel being on a popular street there is a lot of noise. Parking is right outside the hotel on the main road, hence the noise if any guest or other persons arrive/leave. There is also a big glass window between the bedroom and the bathroom which means that if someone uses the bathroom during the night the light will automatically wake the other person up. We were woken up before 10am by loud knocking from a few workers who claimed they came to fix something in the room, and we had to explain that we had the room until 11am (checkout). It was very stupid that they couldn't be told that the room is occupied and that they actually woke us up. The room also had mould on the ceiling which is horrible for your health.
It is definitely not worth the price and it is the one hotel we regret staying at during our time in Europe. We were just confused as to why there is such a high rating for this hotel - it really doesn't deserve it and I would much rather stay elsewhere even if it meant paying more.

Quiet retreat

Clean rooms, very nice roof terrace and great breakfast. Very polite staff.
Nice town centre within walking distance with some nice, traditional German restaurants / taverns for a filling meal and tasty beer.

Staying in a certified passivhaus hotel/guesthouse was an added bonus.

Lots of on-site and on-street parking.

HD quick trip

Very nice, clean and efficient hotel. liked the airy and lighted room, not much a fan of dark and plushy rooms, so this was definitely a big plus. also liked the rooftop breakfast room a lot.
just the manners of the front desk lady being so stuck to her policies seemed a bit odd, my advise is get a bit more relaxed esp. if you deal with returning guests.

Loved, loved, loved this place! We had a car and did not want to hassle with Heidelberg parking so we stayed here. It was wonderful! We parked the car in the underground garage upon arrival and took it out upon departure two days later. In between, we took the tram to Heidelberg (one time) and walked the greenways to lunch, dinner, etc. in the nearby towns ... maybe 12 to 15 miles. There were bikes to rent. The staff - from the cleaning gentleman to the (top floor) reception folks- were anxious to help you. The breakfast area/lounge was lovely as was the outdoor space. I would definitely plan my future trip to Germany so I could stay at this hotel.

Lovely stopover close to Heidelberg

Great environmentally focussed passivhaus hotel with easy tram access to Heidelberg very close by. Very comfortable clean rooms and public areas. Great breakfasts on the 3rd floor with lovely open rooftop views. Very friendly accommodating staff and secure underground parking. We will visit again whenever we’re able.

The Midori --an odd juxtaposition

This hotel is a strange juxtaposition. The service is excellent, as is the breakfast and the location, with restaurants and tram stop within a few hundred metres. The roof garden is a particularly welcome option at the end of a long drive. However I found the all white, ultra modern decor and layout caused me to feel that I was staying in a clinic rather than a hotel. It lacked some colour. A minor frustration, given the thought that had been put into the rest of the hotel, was that the access door to the underground gagrge from the hotel lift didnt open automatically and there was a 'lip' once the door was open, making access with heavy luggage on wheels very difficult. Overall though The Midori was a good experience and I would certainly stay there again, though maybe not for more than a couple of days.

Very Uncomfortable but Clean

My wife and I were both unable to sleep due to the bed being both too soft and sloping toward the middle. I don't believe the mattress was old or worn out but it was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. Having lived in Germany for 11 years and traveled a lot internationally, I understand that bed designs differ from country to country but, at any rate, the bed was simply bad. Also, the lack of airflow in the room didn't improve the situation. I understand that the hotel is proud of its environmentally friendly and energy efficient geothermal system but a small fan would have helped a lot. We opened the window for a while because it was slightly cooler outside but the resulting smell of cigarette smoke and morning road noise led us to abandon that effort too. Upon checkout, the front desk clerk told me that some rooms have firmer beds and they can be requested at check-in time. Wish they would have offered that to me when we arrived. High points were a very good breakfast buffet, convenient parking, and above average cleanliness.

A reasonable option close enough to Heidelberg

Everything was great, my minor problems was that there were no napkins in the room. I also would appreciate if there was at least one set of plate and utensils. And sometimes I couldn't get the room warm enough, but I am usually cold, so it may not be a problem for a normal person :) people were nice and surroundings were beautiful. There was a couple of restaurants and a grocery store close by.

Temp parking was a bit complicated for check in, but there is underground parking once you are a registered guest. The breakfast/lounge area was very nice with a lovely view. The room could have used some glasses and supplies since it is set up as a kitchenette. The room is very nice and modern. The shower gets much of the bathroom wet, but it was clean and modern.

Easy trip into Heidelberg

We chose the Midori since it was close to Heidelberg and its intriguing design. It was very interesting with a green and modern feel. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff was super helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that we could not figure out how to control the room temperature or any fan controls; we didn’t even see any AC vents. Consequently we had a tough night’s sleep since the room was so warm. I think this is one of those examples where going “green” can be going to far.

Hotel is new and beautiful, but I got a street level room that is just to close to the street. Anyone passing in the walkway will be just a few inches from your window. So you have to keep the blind closed at all times!

Staff if very polity but not very useful.

Finally, I got a very small bed for a couple! It is more for a large single bed...

Location is not very close if you want to go to Heidelberg (15 min tram).

This hotel is excellent! Best price, location, and service we have had in Germany. The metro is on the same corner as the hotel and it comes every 1/2 hr and only takes 10 mins to get to the main strip. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in, as far as european beds. The rooms are large. The Breakfast is the best for the price...still european breakfast but a lot of food and hot scrambled eggs and oranges that you can squeeze fresh! We would definitely stay here again. Garage parking is spacious and under the hotel which is perfect. The customer service was great. We arrived late and they had a 24/7 \"atm\" like check-in machine on the outside of the entrance. The Reception desk is on the 3rd floor where they serve breakfast with amazing views!

Verbindung nach Heidelberg 2 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Das ist super. Für den Preis erwarte ich allerdings etwas modernere Zimmer.. Beispielsweise waren die Armaturen im Bad schon deutlich in die Jahre gekommen und der Toilettendeckel hat immer unangenehme Geräusche gemacht beim Öffnen und Schließen. Bettbezug war an mehreren Stellen \"geflickt\". Das ist nicht weiter schlimm und stört nicht, weil es sauber war. Es fällt aber eben negativ auf. Der Check in war problemlos über einen Automaten am Eingang möglich. Das war sehr praktisch. Sehr ruhig angenehmes Hotel. Das nächste Mal würde ich aber wahrscheinlich ein anderes Hotel wählen.

Insgesamt ein zufriedenstellender Aufenthalt, bei den Bewertungen vielleicht etwas mehr erwartet. Check-In Erfahrung am Automaten war nicht sehr gut, System ist mehrfach abgestürzt und hat ca 15 Minuten gedauert bis es wieder online war, ist nachts um 1 Uhr bei 2 Grad nicht die schönste Erfahrung. Zimmer war grundsätzlich sauber und ohne viel Schnickschnack. Lage war dagegen top.

Das Hotel ist sehr einladend, sauber und modern mit freundlichen Personal. Frühstück habe ich nicht gebucht, fußläufig gibt es dort eine hervorragende Bäckerei mit Café, mir persönlich reicht das für ein kleines Frühstück.
Die Parkmöglichkeiten des Hotels sind bestens, wer nach Heidelberg rein möchte... die Tram Haltestelle ist 100m vom Hotel entfernt.

Las cortinas son trasparentes y las persinas (boton en ventana) tambien lo son a si que tienes la misma luz que dormir en la calle
Colchones comodos pero muy pequeños y eso que elegimos habitacion superior no me quiero imaginar la cama de la estandar, absurdo porque las habitaciones son grandes, no es que no entren
Como ahora todos los hoteled no son almohadas, todas son relleno de cojines de sofa incomodisimas
Sistema entrada con maquina que solo sirven para hacer perder tiempo al viajero porque nunca encuentran la reserva. Una señorita muy amable que esta en la planta 3 nos atendio
Ducha sin puerta, si usas la alcachofa techo inundaras baño, tienes que usa la de mano y con cuidado
Baño con cristal de la habitacion para despertar a la otra persona si te levantas por la noche al baño
Y todo esto un hotel nuevo, que habra pagado a un diseñador... Increible

Wir waren 1 Nacht dort. Hatten kein Frühstück gebucht. Der Abend Check-in war Problemlos. Das Zimmer ist modern eingerichtet. Wir hatten lediglich einen Stuhl auf dem Balkon und die dusche mit der an der Wand installierten Brause setzte leider das Bad \"unter Wasser\", da keine Schutzwand angebracht ist musste die Handbrause genutzt werden.

Ein tolles, modernes Gebäude Große, saubere Zimmer. Bequeme Matratzen und ein Fenster zum Öffnen und/oder kippen.
Auch das Frühstück war klasse und vielfältig.

Wenn es überhaupt etwas zu bemängeln gibt, ist es die Lichtsituation auf dem Zimmer. Obwohl unterschiedliche Lichtquellen vorhanden sind, lassen sich ausschließlich alle ein oder ausschalten.

Herrlich war der Balkon, den wir in der Sonne nutzen konnten. Parken umsonst ist hervorragend. Die Bahn fährt direkt vor der Tür, um so ganz einfach nach Heidelberg zu fahren.
Super der Wasserkocher und die Möglichkeit Tee und Kaffee zu genießen.
Lebensmittelmarkt, Bäckerei und auch Restaurants, Cafés sind fußläufig zu erreichen.

Die Unterkunft liegt in einer ruhigen Umgevubg in Dossenheim. Man hat qusi direkt einen Anschluss an das Straßenbahnnetz, sodass man sehr gut nach Heidelberg fahren kann. Aber wuch mit dem Auto sind es dorthin nur wenige Minuten. Durch die weniger urbane Lage der Unterkunft, hat man den Vorteil, direkt einen guten Ausgangspunkt für Fahrradtouren oder Wanderungen zu habe.

Nachhaltig und fair

Sauberes und naturnahes Hotel. Das Personal ist wirklich herzlich und abgesehen von einer Baustelle bei meinem Aufenthalt, ist die Umgebung eher ruhig.

Die Zimmer haben eine angenehme Größe und das Frühstück reichhaltig.

Neu und modern. Topp: kostenlose Tiefgarage. Empfehlenswert.
Das TV ist heutzutage leider ein wenig zu klein für die Entfernung zum Bett.

Sehr gute Unterkunft, das Personal war freundlich und ein sehr gutes Preis-Leidtungsverhältnis! Leider außerhalb gelegen, aber wenn man ein Auto hat, ist man sehr schnell im Zentrum, parken ist umsonst, noch ein Pluspunkt!
