The management needs to change whole bath towels inventory. The towels provided were old and ripped. The towels color is white but the current color is grey. It looks dirty and way overused.
The lobby is very hot. Guests can’t stay in lobby more than 15 mins because it’s too hot.
The restaurant is good thought. The cost of food is reasonable. Services were good. Workers are nice and polite.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were truly amazing so kind, welcoming and attentive and the room was beautiful, spotless and very comfortable. I genuinely couldn’t fault a single thing.

The only thing I would change next time is booking a larger room or separate rooms, as there were three of us (my son, my sister and myself), but that’s purely down to my own booking choice and not a reflection on the hotel at all.

Everything else was just wonderful. It was such a relaxing, enjoyable stay and we really wished we could have stayed longer. I would happily return and highly recommend it.

We loved our stay at Muang Samui. We have stayed there before, many years ago. It is in a perfect location at the quiet end of all the action. Walkable distance to all of Chaweng. The rooms are spacious, airconditioned and clean. The Buffet Breakfast was great, lovely and fresh, strong coffee, well staffed. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location on Chaweng Beach. The hotel is not too big, just the right size for personalized service and it still feels \"authentic\" not like a big \"cookie cutter\" hotel. Fantastic location - one side is the beautiful beach, the other is the fun main street which offers lots to do and lots of dining options. Recommend this hotel.

Can’t recommend it. Sorry.

It’s our 6th hotel in Samoi, and unfortunately it’s the least favorable. Rooms are outdated with weird smells, the pool is nice, breakfast is average, the beach itself is beautiful but not related to the hotel itself.

For this price I would expect a better experience.

I would pay a lil extra to stay in a newer hotel that might be 500m away.

Gym is awful. No towels and everything is super old.

Nice upscale resort at the end of chaweng beach, far enough away to be quieter, but not too far if you want to experience more of the action.
Stayed in royal garden suite which had a large rooftop area, which to be honest we didn’t use much. Garden suites below looked as nice.
Pool area was not too crowded and the restaurant served good Thai food on the beach, although plenty of other options a short beach stroll away.
You get the occasional plane taking off overhead but really didn’t bother us

We loved our stay at this hotel. The best thing was the staff, they were so friendly and go above and beyond for you. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel was in a great location but walkable distance from the main area. You can also get a free shuttle to their sister hotel so we enjoyed going to a different hotel/beach and exploring the area. Would stay here again

What a gorgeous, peaceful haven this was - we stayed here for 6 nights on our honeymoon in Koh Samui.

The suites are stunning and the pool area and main restaurant lead directly onto the beach.

Staff are warm and attentive.

Exceptional location: 5-10 mins walk to the busiest part of the strip. All restaurants, bars and nightlife within easy reach!

We booked a green view suite which had an outside area which we found not clean. The wooden deck area at the beach had a number of broken pieces which made it quite hazardous for some people . We stayed 3 years ago and didn’t find it was as good . The staff were fantastic but I think they were also too busy .

Classic accommodation with private rooms and outdoor seating. Rooms were big and comfortable. Some elements dated and tired for hotel facilities. Not a good place for disability access, pathways need to be upgraded. Great location and private access to beach and lagoon which is worthy of wading through the waters.

Gorgeous property with beautiful gardens leading to pool overlooking incredible lagoon beach. Room was stunning. Staff really put effort in the whole time, but made special accomodations for our honeymoon and really went the extra mile. Location is awesome because it melds tranquility of the beach with party atmosphere of Chaweng (5 minutes walk to all the nightlife). Really peaceful and classy resort. We would definitely stay there again.

First of all, we have a 20 year history with the Muang Samui; having stayed here about 6 or 7 times. We booked through Expedia for a Garden View room. On arrival, we requested to be away from the street. The receptionist first suggest a ground floor room near reception, which we didn’t want. It took several tries, but we were finally given a location we liked. The room was nice, as usual. The hotel staff was lovely, as usual. Breakfast was the usual huge spread. We still like the Muang Samui, but there was loud construction noise from an adjacent hotel under expansion up to almost 6 pm. Some of the guests in groups were super loud and rude; oblivious that other guests wanted to relax by the pool. Fortunately, they left after a few days. Outdoor we book again? Maybe...we felt we didn’t quite receive the “valued return guests” treatment with room selection that we would have been nice.

The resort is conveniently located near the nightlife. It is spacious and has a small beach right in front of the breakfast area. Motor bike rentals are conveniently available on the premises. The breakfast buffet is adequate, but it would be nice if fresh fruit juice was available as opposed to the boxed type of juice.

We had such a great time here. Our first time at Maung Samui Spa Resort and definitely not the last. Everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing. What I loved the most were the little thoughtful extras that showed the resort went the extra mile to make their guests happy, such as the the Thai red ruby dessert on arrival, the complimentary 15min massage at the hotel spa, the delicious banana chips in our room, the snacks served poolside, etc. You can't beat the location right in the heart of Chaweng if you want something centrally located. Steps away from lots of food, shopping, and massage options. Large, spacious, and beautifully decorated room, gorgeous bathroom with a huge shower area and separate jacuzzi. Loved the freeform pool with varying depths and mini-waterfall. Perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun. We only had breakfast at the hotel but it was a thoroughly enjoyable with an excellent array of food and drinks (including fresh juice!). Standard 5-star buffet assortment with an egg station, waffle/crepe station, and a wide variety of fruits and cheeses to end with. Exceptional and friendly service and hospitality from all the staff. Special thanks to Nadea (unsure of the exact spelling) who gave us complimentary bowls of red ruby dessert when we approached her to ask where we could find this in Chaweng. In short, a great experience and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Samui.

We arrived on Friday for 4 nights stay. There aren't many guest during this time. Nice sunny weather and friendly staffs awake us. The room is very spacious with excellent amenities and great location; only 10 mins from airport. There are many restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was included and excellent services. The local travel agent at the lobby of the hotel provide excellent price and services. Only improvement we suggest is to have hotel treat the Flies and masquito which is flying around the restaturant. Also, if hotel provide free shattle services to and from airport would be value added service to guests.

Housekeeping good but needed prompting to re supply items promised but when pointed out expectations the standard was great. Location great on the outer end of the main strip. Cathy of reception couldn’t be more helpful and Sarong (beverage pool

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Muang Samui. The location is perfect - right on the beach, with easy access to restaurants and bars. The staff can't do enough to help and they make staying there a real pleasure. The pool is good and the setting of the hotel is beautiful - the staff work hard to make the gardens a tranquil place and a pleasure to walk through. The room is very clean and absolutely huge, especially the bathroom! 4 free bottles of drinking water per day was also appreciated. The maid service was brilliant each day. Breakfast is fantastic - there's so much choice, everything is so fresh, even freshly baked croissants, bread etc all with a beautiful view of the beach. The airport is less than 10 minutes away which is convenient, but of course does mean planes fly directly over the hotel - you can't really hear them in the rooms though so it doesn't really matter and of course is probably the same for all hotels in this area.

We had a few minor complaints; personally, I would also prefer that the hotel didn't promote animal shows such as circuses and buffalo fighting in the guidance in the room - it would be better to promote the local ethical elephant sanctuary. The air con fan in the room was very noisy and not quite cold enough. Our room was also very close to some building work which meant sitting out on the patio in an afternoon was noisy. However, overall these things didn't affect our stay too much and we would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

We stayed 5 nights over New Year's 2018/2019 and really enjoyed the resort. Nice place with large rooms and a decent beach and excellent service. My wife thought the resort seemed a little old, but I felt it was intended to be a little rustic with modern amenities. The New Year gala dinner was expansive, but way too expensive. Avoid. The spa is expensive but very nice. Breakfast is very good. We never ate lunch or dinner at the resort because there are so many good restaurants nearby. Wifi is reliable.

Great location on Chaweng beach

Had a five night stay at Muang Samui. Hotel is in a prime spot on Chaweng beach and rooms are very comfortable with a traditional Thai decor and fit out. Staff are very friendly ( Guest Relations Manager Norbert is very good) but there is generally a poor ability to speak or understand English - perhaps this is not a major issue for most guests who seem to be German or Israeli. In the context of hotels in South East Asia which generally struggle to produce a good English/Australian/New Zealand style of breakfast ,the buffet breakfast at Muang Samui is very good. However our experience with lunch and dinner (Thai food for dinner) was most disappointing in terms of food quality and speed of service and as a result we ate from thereon at other hotels along the beach. Nice shaded pool and beach access is easy.

Absolutely amazing!

This hotel, room and service was amazing. The room was so clean and the bed was SO comfy! The location is perfect walking distance to everything: Food, bars, shopping but far enough away that its not disruptive. The staff was helpful and nice. The only thing I would say is the pool could have been a little cleaner as there is alot of trees around it so alot of leaves and sticks get in the pool.

Five-star boutique-level managed and maintained great rooms and excellent service, spacious food highest quality. This is my third time here and it gets better with age. The staff at comfort leaves the pool area and beautiful clean beach, Fantastic location, very relaxed during the day and therefore very suitable for families but only leave the hotel and encountering all the marble tourist , cwheng Beach has to offer including many restaurants bars stores and massage and night life. I highly recommend this hotel, And I'm sure I will be back to visit with my family.

This was the second time of staying at th Muang Samui hotel. On both occasions the hotel has exceeded my expectations. The attentiveness of the staff, quality of service and quality of the accommodation were excellent. The property is also well located for beach activity as well as nightlife. I will definitely stay at the hotel,on my next visit to Koh Samui and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

Nice resort directly on Chaweng Beach

I was pleasantly surprised with the resort and my stay there. Terrific location in Chaweng Beach, with a nice Thai decor. Luxurious suites and lush gardens to add to the authentic feeling. Pleasant and professional staff.

The Muang Samui staff is the best. THEY ARE INCREDIBLE. always greeting with a smile to every person they meet.
It rained 2 days while we were there and the staff came around with free appetizers for an hour (fruit, sandwichesm, etc) under a palapa to keep us dry. they also do a weekly BBQ with cocktail hour for free. Very nice place, would definitely stay here agin. Based on location the water was very shallow with many shells. In order to go to deep and swimable water you have a walk a few minutes towards downtown area but was not a big deal. Close to all local bars. I got around the island for 7 days with using 2 taxis and didnt even have to rent a scooter. everything is accessible by foot to still have a wonderful time.

A great package of location, service and facility

We were a family of 5 with small boys and a teenager.
We had a great time with great service, food, location and facilities.
The staff were excellent and made great efforts to look after us.
The rooms were excellent and we could not have asked for better.
We have stayed at Muang Samui several times now and will definitely be back.
Would recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay along Chewang beach.

Lovely Thai style boutique hotel great location .

I first stayed here 4 years ago and was so happy to find this hotel . I decided to take my 16 year old daughter for her first trip to Thailand.The staff are excellent,friendly beyond belief. The rooms with beautiful wooden floors and Thai decor are set within establish tropical gardens .The walk to the beach front restaurant for breakfast is so enjoyable as is the hotel food catering for everybody's taste . I look forward to my next stay .

We had a great stay at the hotel. The breakfast was tasty, the room tidy and huge, and the beach was only a few minutes from our door. If I had to come up with one thing to improve it would be to make sure both sides of the bed have separate lights and light switches. But this is a super minor issue with an otherwise perfect stay.

We had a great stay at this hotel - the location was great! We travelled with 2 kids and there was lots of them to do on the property. The breakfast was great but more options would have been nice.
The room was very spacious but the washroom was a bit worn out - great balcony! Great service and very friendly management! They also offer a shuttle to their sister hotel Royal Muang Samui.

Average old hotel on a yuk beach

When we arrived at Muang samui we checked into our room wich was old and run down. The shower had no pressure and was not useable so I complained and was told all the rooms were like that. Could not use shower or either spa as there was no pressure and water just trickled out the taps. After complaining for 4 days in a row the pump was replaced for our room and the pressure was better. We were not compensated in anyway for the water problems and were not even allowed a late checkout. When I said at the front desk I had complained 4 days in a row the manager there called me a liar and said no complaint recorded. Terrible staff, old run down resort on a horrible part of chaweng beach. DONT STAY HERE.
If you want a nice place on chaweng beach stay at buri rasa down the beach a bit much nicer than muang samui.

We especially chose this hotel as it is on the beach front, however when we arrived we were told that due to low tide we could not swim on the beach. Staff saw disappointment on our faces and immediately offered to move us to their sister hotel Muang Samui Villas in Choeng Mon Beach - 10 minute drive North.

So my review is of Muang Samui Villas in Choeng Mon Beach.

Huge rooms, excellent beach, extremely friendly staff, ok pool (but most hotels in Samui have average pools). Staff always on hand to drive you to & from beach if you are too lazy to walk hotel grounds.

Location - very quiet and often need to travel to other areas for food & entertainment. Each travel ride costs at least 100 Baht per person in tuktuk or 400 baht in taxi. There are a small group of local restaurants at front of hotel.

Breakfast - small selection (we are used to the grand buffets of Bali) - no fresh juices, coffee is perculated, but overall plenty to eat of you don't want variety.

Rooms: very large, very pretty, wifi works well.

Although we loved our stay at the hotel, we don't think we will be back to Samui

the rooms are worn out the ac makes a lot of noise the linen is not changed daily until u request , the bath gel and shampoo also not great quality except the location nothing extraordinary
We stayed at amari last year far better than muang

The hotel is good but not clean , showers with allot of mold , shower cartoon are not clean at all .... Around the AC its blak !!!! For the rest hotel its good ! Good bad and very good breakfast , big rooms and good location......

Front office staff hardly speak English!

We had two full days of NO water ! No showers or baths
We complained and hey kept telling us it was repaired

Paradise!!

My daughter and myself, along with a friend and her mom enjoyed our stay very much at this resort. The room was perfect, cool and very spacious. The pool was refreshing and lovely and the beach is absolutely gorgeous!! The location made going out very easy and safe and it was so nice to expeience the local people, culture and cuisine. Prices were qute reasonable and the staff was veryvery accomadating and kind. The only drawback was the vendors on the beach whom approach severel times a day weather your'e interested in buying or not. I understand they have to make a living however it does get frustrating, especially whilst having a meal on the beach.

The staff is very friendly. They arranged for out tours and were always willing to help. Lovely outdoor pool area with meditation ponds. You can easily get a tuk-tuk to town the hotel is not in the center of town.

Great location, good experience

Hotel is a \"fancy\" resort right at the beginning of the night life district of Chaweng beach. Tons of restaurants and bars within minutes walk. Very close to the airport as well, which is a plus. The room was nice and spacious, though a bit worn. Nothing critical to write home about, but there was black mold and algae-like scum in the shower, and the jacuzzi tub smelled vaguely like an elephant's butt. I don't think the jacuzzi sees a lot of use. Sent my wife for a spa treatment at the onsite spa and she raved about it. The breakfast was nothing special, so we usually skipped it and ate at one of the many local restaurants. The beach feels private since it is at the beginning of the beach loop, so most of the craziness is a short walk away. The pool was great when it was not overflowing with kids...as it was on the weekend. Overall pleasant experience, and would certainly stay here again. Oddly enough, the neighborhood stray cats were a nice addition. We adopted one for a few days and wish we could have taken him home with us. High praise since my wife hates cats.

What a fantastic hotel. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. Perfect location on Chaweng Beach, very close to the main area but once you're in the resort it feels like you're on a secluded beach away from it all! Can't wait to go back to the Muang Samui!

Very nice hotel, located in the center of town on a very quite part of the beach. The facility is a bit a old but extremely well kept and sparkling clean. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. Recommended for couples, not as much for families.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. Has many pro's like the location, friendly staff, great spa and on the beach.

We also got a few complimentary items with each meal we ordered which was a nice touch and much appreciated.

Hotel is not new but comfortable to stay.

It is a nice and quiet place to stay also is very convenient. But a lot of mosquitoes may be due to the room facing the garden view. There are stray cats around the resort and they will follow you to your door steps or below your breakfast table. I am animal lover so it is not a big issue to me.
