The best thing about Hotel Eleo was its staff. The bed wasn't so bad either. But the worst thing was that horrible Nespresso coffee maker. When first booking the room and seeing the amenities, I ordered my favorite coffee in a Nespresso pod to use. Terrible. Foamy and bitter - no matter which brand of coffee used. But the nearness to Shands was such a plus and the availability of the shuttle service to the hospital 24/7 certainly outweighed the bad coffee. And with the Opus coffee kiosk in the hospital lobby, I was ok. I had breakfast one day and then lunch another day at the restaurant there. Both were great. And William, the bartender/server made me feel as if we were old friends. If a visit to Shands was ever in the future, I would stay at the Eleo again...but I'd pack my little Keurig!

The room was clean, overall the hotel was nice and well kept. The only issue was with the night desk clerk, I asked him a simple question about parking, he didn't answer the question, instead he went on a tirade about parking my car on the roof of a house he didnt care! he was rude and sarcastic, this caught us by surprise as there was no antagonist to this reaction, I would recommend this hotel but would avoid this employee. And conversely, as we were checking out, the morning desk clerk was courteous ,helpful, and all around personable, his attitude was very refreshing,he epitomized how a hospitality worker should treat thier guests.

Stayed in a wellness room during part 1 of my stay. Complimentary upgrade. Would have liked the same room type for part 2 but wasn’t upgraded. Lake view rooms were clean and well furnished in both the main room and bathroom
Friendly check in/out staff at reception. Good service in the restaurant overall, although drinks were a bit slow.
I was not aware of the $25 per day valet parking when I booked the hotel, and felt this was expensive and unexpected.
Overall, a decent hotel. I would stay again.

Parking is the typical UF nightmare.
The only option for parking AT the hotel is $25 per night valet parking. If you don't want to pay that, or don't want to hand over your vehicle to some kid who is barely out of high school, then you will have to find parking in one of the hospital parking garages which are a 5 to 10 minute walk depending. Don't make the mistake of thinking those garages will be cost free, or even have a space available during the week.
If you're willing to put up with UF's terrible parking situation the hotel is beautiful and clean. The staff are polite and accommodating. However the only thing that is special about it is the proximity to the hospital campus and a nice view. So if you aren't visiting the hospitals I would probably just stay elsewhere in Gainesville and avoid the hassle.

The staff was very kind. They were friendly at check-in and couldn’t be more helpful as we tried to find a place for dinner, especially the people working the valet.
The room was very warm when we arrived. But once we got the A/C turned on, the room cooled down. The bathroom had a nice layout and at first looked very clean. However when I showered in the morning, I found hair on the permanent shampoo/conditioner bottles and a dead bug behind the door. These little things wouldn’t keep me from staying here again but wish the details were handled better. We also didn’t enjoy riding the elevator with and right after the person who had clearly been smoking weed. It reeked for quite awhile afterwards. But again I am not sure what else the hotel could do as they already have each person sign an agreement about not smoking anything of any kind within the hotel.

The hotel was nice. The staff wasn't great. Valet was a joke. They said to text for the car. When we went out to get it there wasn't anyone around. He finally came out of the back looking like he was sleeping. Told us the texting doesn't work all the time and he tells people not to use it. I wouldn't go back for these reasons. Front desk person has no personality.

We stayed in the hotel because my sister was in the hospital next to it. It was so convenient to stay there. There was a Golfcart shuttle service from the hotel to the hospital. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint was a terrible smell in the lobby, hallways and the elevator. It wasn’t as strong in the room. The smell was a chemical smell. It was overpowering at times.

1. The hotel is part of Shands hospital grounds.
2. The hotel has a beautiful lined path leading to the hospital or they will shuttle back and forth. I actually like the walk to help clear my head from hospital to hotel and visa versa.
3. The staff members were accommodating.
4. The studio room was perfect size for my husband and I.
5. The food was good.

Negatives:
1. Double charged for hotel but after speaking to front desk manager they fixed it.
2. The snack shop is over priced.
3. The bar area is mainly regular drinks. I tried to order a Margarita with an Orange liquor and Patron, no Orange flavor of any kind. Tried to order a frozen drink was told the did not have ingredients. My husband order a Long Island Ice Tea and they were out of Triple sec.
