The room was very clean and the hotel itself looks very nice. There isn’t much to do there or any good seating areas. The “grab n go” area is tiny and definitely doesn’t look as good as they try and put it on the website. My biggest issue was that they were charging me for many unnecessary things like drinks and food I never ordered and even charging me for a second room even after I tried explaining we were just changing rooms. It was a redhead woman that wasn’t very helpful whatsoever with that reservation and gave us that charge. The next day I found someone else who was much more helpful and was able to figure out those charges for me. All the other staff are very sweet and efficient, it was just that one woman.

This hotel is very good. However, if you’re out of your room after 11 am, don’t expect them to clean it after that. I had to request service the fort day and they did. But the second day I didn’t even try. The room was clean and well kept but there wa some mold in the bathroom. The staff is very friendly including the valet. They have no self-park option.
Margaret
Easy to get everywhere you need to on campus. Food was good and rooms were clean and comfortable.
Kim
Wonderful first stay! Staff was helpful and the room had a great layout. Room was very clean. Onsite restaurant was perfect for breakfast.

Valet did their thing. They were in point! Hotel is nice. We didn’t get to enjoy any amenities due to short stay but what we did experience was well worth the money!

The hotel was quiet, super clean, and well furnished; staff was very friendly/courteous/helpful. Also, valet parking was unusually responsive/efficient! The courtesy transportation to UF Shands Hospital was an unexpected bonus.

Convenient location would definitely stay againI’m
Misty
Loved the location and staff! The only hiccup was both nights we had to call engineering to adjust the air conditioning. It would get warm in the room in the middle of the night. Front desk and engineer were helpful to resolve issues.
MARY JO
Clean, chic, cozy, and comfortable!
Hayes
Across the board wonderful!

Everything having to do with the Hotel/Staff itself was Excellent. Be aware though. When I booked online the cost was $387.16 for 2 nights. However, the total charged to my credit care with the cost of the \"fees\" and \"deposits\" came to over $500 dollars. NO ONSITE PARKING. YOU HAVE TO USE VALET PARKING....another cost. BEWARE!!
Gino
Restaurant was great!
2 out of the 3 rooms we booked had a very strong pet/dirty smell.

Great location to the downtown core. Perfect hotel if you’re touring UF.
Love that you can get your steps in by walking the path around the pond and enjoy the sunrise at the same time.

We always stay here. Just wish restaurant was open longer. We have long late nights at the racetrack and can never come back to hotel We always have to go somewhere

Everyone and everything was great
William
The hotel has no character. The employees had no character. It’s pretty basic. Why do I have to look out the window and see trash in the pond? Why can’t I have my car brought up at a specific time?

My sisters surgery at Shands was postponed and they charged me the full price for both nights! Didn't even let me cancel with a 1 night penalty. That is inhuman.

Friendly staff and clean room

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in!

Conveniently located on the University of Florida Shands Hospital Campus. The bed was like a cloud. Clean and quiet room. All staff friendly and accommodating. Good food in hotel restaurant.
Tracy
Ishanty at the front desk is fantastic.
Myah
The staff was so nice. Pleasant greeting upon check in and always says hello when walking around the hotel. We stayed in a studio room that was actually quite spacious. Very clean and smelled very nice. Would recommend everyone to stay here and will definitely stay here again.
Michael
The property was in the perfect location, great price and with amazing staff. Highly recommend it, especially when you’re doing anything at university of Florida.
Monica
The wall above the bed was very dusty, same issue as 2 years ago. It agitated our allergies, aggravating but not horrible. There was also hair on the bathroom walls.
Shirley
The best thing about Hotel Eleo was its staff. The bed wasn't so bad either. But the worst thing was that horrible Nespresso coffee maker. When first booking the room and seeing the amenities, I ordered my favorite coffee in a Nespresso pod to use. Terrible. Foamy and bitter - no matter which brand of coffee used. But the nearness to Shands was such a plus and the availability of the shuttle service to the hospital 24/7 certainly outweighed the bad coffee. And with the Opus coffee kiosk in the hospital lobby, I was ok. I had breakfast one day and then lunch another day at the restaurant there. Both were great. And William, the bartender/server made me feel as if we were old friends. If a visit to Shands was ever in the future, I would stay at the Eleo again...but I'd pack my little Keurig!
Sally
Our favorite Gainesville hotel!
Dixie
Overpriced and the rug smells terrible. Need to totally remove.
Tom
Nice place but the lights did not work
Laura
all good!
Robert
very clean and excellent breakfast.
Amy
Always a pleasure staying here
Delia
The room was clean, overall the hotel was nice and well kept. The only issue was with the night desk clerk, I asked him a simple question about parking, he didn't answer the question, instead he went on a tirade about parking my car on the roof of a house he didnt care! he was rude and sarcastic, this caught us by surprise as there was no antagonist to this reaction, I would recommend this hotel but would avoid this employee. And conversely, as we were checking out, the morning desk clerk was courteous ,helpful, and all around personable, his attitude was very refreshing,he epitomized how a hospitality worker should treat thier guests.
Corry
Great staff, convenient location, funky smell in all the hallways.

Stayed in a wellness room during part 1 of my stay. Complimentary upgrade. Would have liked the same room type for part 2 but wasn’t upgraded. Lake view rooms were clean and well furnished in both the main room and bathroom
Friendly check in/out staff at reception. Good service in the restaurant overall, although drinks were a bit slow.
I was not aware of the $25 per day valet parking when I booked the hotel, and felt this was expensive and unexpected.
Overall, a decent hotel. I would stay again.

Parking is the typical UF nightmare.
The only option for parking AT the hotel is $25 per night valet parking. If you don't want to pay that, or don't want to hand over your vehicle to some kid who is barely out of high school, then you will have to find parking in one of the hospital parking garages which are a 5 to 10 minute walk depending. Don't make the mistake of thinking those garages will be cost free, or even have a space available during the week.
If you're willing to put up with UF's terrible parking situation the hotel is beautiful and clean. The staff are polite and accommodating. However the only thing that is special about it is the proximity to the hospital campus and a nice view. So if you aren't visiting the hospitals I would probably just stay elsewhere in Gainesville and avoid the hassle.

Absolutely wonderful stay! Staff was friendly, easy valet parking, clean spacious room and loved the convenience of the golf cart to and from Shands! I will be staying again!
Carrie
The staff was very kind. They were friendly at check-in and couldn’t be more helpful as we tried to find a place for dinner, especially the people working the valet.
The room was very warm when we arrived. But once we got the A/C turned on, the room cooled down. The bathroom had a nice layout and at first looked very clean. However when I showered in the morning, I found hair on the permanent shampoo/conditioner bottles and a dead bug behind the door. These little things wouldn’t keep me from staying here again but wish the details were handled better. We also didn’t enjoy riding the elevator with and right after the person who had clearly been smoking weed. It reeked for quite awhile afterwards. But again I am not sure what else the hotel could do as they already have each person sign an agreement about not smoking anything of any kind within the hotel.

Beautiful room with wonderful amenities. This is the first hotel we’ve stayed at that had a sound machine, which was a nice touch.
Xiang
Clean room , great location for Gators. Service to deliver your Uber Eats to your room
Ruth
Friendly staff, very clean.
Tavis
Room was nice. Forced $25 valet fee. Shower cannot be closed so you have to shower cold.
Leslie
The hotel was nice. The staff wasn't great. Valet was a joke. They said to text for the car. When we went out to get it there wasn't anyone around. He finally came out of the back looking like he was sleeping. Told us the texting doesn't work all the time and he tells people not to use it. I wouldn't go back for these reasons. Front desk person has no personality.
