Very good location! Beach was private & great to relax. It was wonderful, was not really crowded while we were there. If you are looking for a lot of night life - this is probably not for you. There are some music nights and that was fun. But for relaxation this is great. I would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Avila Beach Hotel. The beach is beautiful and very relaxing, the rooms are comfortable and well maintained, and the buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of options. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and perfect for a Caribbean getaway. We would definitely return.

Amazing resort. Luxury except the staff was not uptight online other luxury resorts. The optional shower room facilities post checkout are perfect for evening travelers that have checked out. Great facilities, restaurants and quiet beach with plenty of chairs. No loud music, which was nice. I visited other resorts during my travels and they had more of a party vibe. Avila is low key, quiet, peaceful and tranquil.

Beautiful hotel located in a perfect location! The grounds and beach so fantastic! We had a perfect room with views of pool and ocean! The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the food and bar! This hotel took every expectation we had and blew them out of the water. The beaches were private, peaceful and pristine. The fosh and pelicans hung out right inside the bay- you didn't even have to go past the breakwater to have a great time snorkeling. The front desk staff and cleaning team were incredibly helpful and super friendly. The drinks were fantastic and the food was fabulous- especially in the Blues Restaurant. Our room in the Blues wing was gorgeous- breathtaking views of the sunrise/sunset. The balcony felt completely private. The beds were super comfortable. The walk in shower was great.

Booked this hotel due to having the most amenities which it did and was clean.
We're not very demanding travelers but had some struggles with the hotel remembering to clean the room, the front desk forgetting to mention that our late bags were delivered by the airport and when we arrived a day late the hotel automatically canceled the first day and booked us an extra day at the end thay we couldn't use. This extra day was at a much higher rate and they took this money out of our deposit so we had no recourse from being robbed by the hotel.
Definitely buyer beware.

I can’t say enough about how much we loved this hotel and we’ve been to many islands and can’t wait to return.

I rarely leave reviews, but this place is spectacular. They make everything easy and enjoyable! From the beachfront restaurant (The Pen) to the on site snorkeling, every feature is well appointed. Beach chairs were always available, the resort never felt crowded in spite of it being full. We would return in a heartbeat!

Nice hotel. Stayed for 4 nights. Good customer service. Dinner at Blue was good. Quality and diversity of breakfast foods was very good. Gym is well equipped but also highly subscribed. Not enough room for floor exercise. Swim beach is calm due to the use of harbor rocks. All the best beaches are 45 to 60 minute drive. But, I didn’t see any hotels in that area that would rival the Avila. Moreover, there are very nice restaurants and bars in walking distance from the Avila. If you like natural beauty, the national park on the ocean is worth a visit.

The room was dreamy… comfortable King Bed, with a balcony over the water (room 291 / Ocean Blues Adult Only section). The two coves had excellent Snorkeling! Dinner on the Beach for our 30th Anniversary was delicious and memorable!!! Janessa, our server, was so sweet and full of positive energy! Xavier, front desk Concierge was extremely helpful!

All the staff are very pleasant and accommodating. The buffet breakfast is great. The small beach with beautiful clear water was lovely. It is a small hotel which advertises walking distance to town but we found it too far and too hot. They had a free shuttle. I would have stayed at a larger Marriott if I had known you can’t really walk to town. The room was fine with some minor issues like old hairdryer, dim bathroom light without an exhaust fan. It was clean though and the dinner at the blues Caribbean restaurant was good as was nightly music. All in all a good place but I am used to the larger branded places which are a bit more luxurious.

Make a reservation to their restaurant the Blue Caribbean at check in for the nights they have live music so you can sit inside. Don’t have to wake up early to go get a spot on the beach. Sleep in and still be able to find a nice spot to chill at the beach.

My husband and I stayed at Avila Beach Hotel for 7 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The beach was lovely, with two lagoons full of fish to observe, and the staff were attentive and polite.

I’d definitely recommend adding a breakfast package to your stay—the selection and quality were very good, and the omelette station let you order eggs just the way you like them. However, I’m glad we didn’t add dinners. While there’s more variety if you eat meat, as a pescatarian I found the options limited, and for vegetarians the selection and value for the price were not great. That said, I’d highly recommend the BBQ night at the Pen restaurant—it was excellent.

A few things to keep in mind: this is more of a European-style resort, so be prepared to encounter people smoking on the beach. Smoking is also allowed on the balconies of some wings. During the first half of our stay we were lucky, but for the rest of the week our mornings and evenings on the balcony were less pleasant because of that unpleasant smell.

Overall, we were happy with our choice of a hotel and would definitely stay again (but next time - in a non-smoking part :) ).

First off I’ll start off by saying the hotel was very nice and the staff was super friendly and courteous. Check in process went smooth and they gave us a free drink.
After the first day day we woke up and noticed many ants on one of our beds and we asked the front desk if they could take care of it while we stepped out. We came back later that day and they had said they took care of it but there were still some ants around the desk. We asked if there was another room that we wouldn’t mind sleeping in a smaller room but they sent someone up with ant spray that he proceeded to put around the surrounding areas where there were still some ants. Guessed it work for a bit because we didn’t see any ants for 2 days but we then again woke up one day with a lot of ants on the one of the beds again. Again we told the front to see what would be done about it but instead of giving us a smaller room somewhere ant free they just sent housekeeping to change the sheets. A bit of a shame because the hotel was very nice and we didn’t want this to be a bad experience since the staff was friendly but unfortunately upper management didn’t want to permanently solve the problem by giving us a downgraded room.

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. When we arrived we were greeted with glasses of local fruit bunch with fresh, sliced orange. The front desk was exceedingly polite. The hotel grounds are well kept and generally quiet. The food at the resort and in town is all SO good (and we’re snobby New Yorkers!). There are at least 6 or 7 outstanding restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and the neighborhood is safe enough to walk around at night.

Avila is close to many restaurants and shopping. It felt safe and was clean. It was quiet, since the beach wasn’t really an attraction for those not staying at the resort. (Other hotels invite non-guests to fill the beaches and make money on the chair rentals) The two separate beaches were lovely. The rock walls shelter the lagoon from big waves but also invite lots of colorful fishes. Snorkeling was great right at the hotel. The bars and restaurants were nice to have, but we did venture offsite for most meals. The prices were in line with other places on the island. Cocktails were about $14 USD each. The rooms are basic but clean. We did have a little mix up where we booked 2 queens, but they gave us a king the first night. They brought a rollaway, and my young son just slept with my husband and me. They moved us the next day. FYI - They say you are only booking the room
class, and the # of beds cannot be guaranteed. All of the Alliance wing rooms have at least a partial ocean view. The room has a small fridge, and they provide reef safe sunscreen and bug spray. Reef safe sunscreen is also available for free by the towel stand. Avila has entertainment Wed-Sun which is nice and not too loud. The grounds are maintained nicely. The pool isn’t huge but is a nice option. There are plenty of sun chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas (for free) at the pool and beaches. Parking is also free, and some covered parking is available. If we were to return to Curacao, I would stay here again.

Brilliant hotel in the heart of Petermaai. Room was spacious and clean with a comfortable large bed and huge bath. We had lunch several time at the Pen restaurant whilst we were enjoying the stunning hotel beaches, with excellent snorkelling. We also had dinner there a couple of times and at the Blues restaurant, which has a beautiful ceiling and is a situated over the water. The hotel is well located for excellent restaurants within just a few minute walk and not far to walk to Punda or Otrabanda. Great parking facilities for our rental too. Honestly if we could have extended our stay we would have! No hesitations in recommending.

The room is ok except if u turn off the air conditioner the room will be full of water so dont turn it off at all. The grounds was beautiful. The food for me was nothing to talk about . I love the location of this property and the beach is excellent. Everyone is very friendly as well! The reception and front office staff are very welcoming. The things that I would recommend to make it better would be to have live music at happy hour. The service at the bar and the restaurant need improving. There seems to be a lot of staff, but no ultimate service except for a few. The Pen restaurant food was average at best. That being said, I would still return and would recommend it to others!

We really liked the kindness of the staff. The 2 beaches are fabulous. The room is nice and confortable, but I was expecting more luxury for the price paid. We enjoyed the variety and the quality of the food served at breakfast.
