Simply wonderful !! I totally recommend this place. The room was lovely, quiet and clean. The king bed extremely comfortable. The location is perfect (In the city + in front of the ocean, 2 swimming pool, a beautiful restaurant, what more can I say!), the staff members of Scuba Lodge has also been very helpful (if you need to rent a car-transport from the airport, etc.) everything was so easy. We hope to go back soon!

Boutique hotel on the ocean a short walk to town. Just wonderful. Booked a 2 bed ocean front suite and had the best room there. Huge balcony overlooking the ocean was the star. Had to navigate a narrow spiral staircase up 3 flights but so worth it. Can’t speak to the experience in the other rooms but I know they don’t have as perfect a view. Room was very clean. Restaurant on site is great. Half a dozen other great restaurants within a 5 minute walk. No real beach but the stairs access to the ocean works well. Pools are small but nice. Could use more lounge chairs with shade. Biggest downside was the number of people smoking. Would stay there again in a hot second in the same room.

The scuba lodge is a true gem. It’s well maintained and the rooms were huge and stocked like a B&B. The property is small but the space is utilized perfectly. The restaurant, bar, pool and swimming hole is wonderful!! The staff are great as well.
This area seems quite up and coming so everything is relatively near. You do need to walk or taxi to most things so i recommend renting a car if you plan to leave the resort.
The ONLY thing we were not happy about was the check in. Yes, we all understand that the technical check in is 4pm BUT if someone arrives early ( as we did), you should try your utmost to get their room done as soon as it’s possible. If check out is 12nn and we have been there since 1030am, the least you can do is your best to accommodate us. It should not have to go to upper management to get things going.
In the end we were accommodated ( 3pm) but when you work with ppl, exceptions should always be made available when possible. ( And it was obviously possible)

Our room faced the town so there was plenty of street noise. Unless you’re looking for 5 star accommodations, Scuba Lodge is a comfortable place to relax in the sun. We would come back.

Our room was dirty and damp when we checked in. This was far from what we expected after seeing the beautiful grounds and restaurant. I think we may have gotten just the last thing available, since we booked only a few days in advance because of flight issues we were experiencing, but the room should not have been offered in that condition. The bathroom, counters, floor were filthy and the sheets had a mold-colored stain.

When we asked for our money back, they refused because we used Hotels.com, even after Hotels.com called them to try to get their cooperation. This was particularly surprising given that the hotel displays a Hotels.com plaque in the lobby of the Hotel behind the check-in desk. We checked out without staying at the hotel and had to find a new place to stay.

The front desk staff were friendly and super helpful. Loved having access to a smaller pool as well as the infinity pool and the chairs in the sand overlooking the water. We appreciated to location - we were able to walk to/across the floating bridge, and to where the free walking tours were (highly recommend), and walk to some amazing restaurants near by! (Breeze Number 5 was our favorite for steak!).

We stayed here for 6 nights recently, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The main attractions, in our opinion, are the water access, immaculate grounds and excellent location a short walk from downtown Willemstad (10 min walk).

The property is very distinctive and pretty, and my only real complaint would be that they need to oil them main gate as every time it opens it is very loud. We had a ground-level room at the front of the property, and soundproofing is non-existent so you will hear pretty much everything going on outside, but we didn’t spend much time in the room. Bed and bedding was very comfortable.

Overall, I highly recommend.

The location is perfect, with beach access, a nice area for photographs and alot more. The inhouse restaurant is wonderful with a very friendly staff. Our only issue was the roadside parking as there area other hotels and restaurants around using the same roadway for parking, once you returning late set your mind to get a far park. Otherwise the place was excellent, would definitely revisit!

When I booked my stay at the Scuba Lodge, I did not know what to expect. I went there with my husband to celebrate my 60th birthday. Needless to say, it surpassed all my expectations- From the outstanding service at the reception and housekeeping staff to the spacious 2- bedroom oceanfront condo. The view from the balcony was spectacular. Not only was the pool absolutely tranquil, but the secluded cove steps away provided an experience of serenity that I truly needed. As far as the location, the restaurants, shopping and tourist sites were all within walking distance. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone seeking a down- to -earth beachy island vibe with good food and excellent staff.

A great location for a stay in Willemstad. It is clean, friendly staff and is really fantastically located on the Caribbean Sea. We stayed 2 nights and slept the first night in room 27. A beautiful and spacious room with a balcony at the front. However, a big disadvantage is that it is located on the street side and therefore very noisy at night due to the heavy traffic passing by. The next night we rebooked to a room on the garden/sea side and slept well there. This room was also fine with a terrace on the garden side. Recommended if you do not take a room on the street side!

Third time to this boutique hotel in 2 years. Convenient for scuba diving as there is a dive shop 100 feet from the property. The staff at Scuba Lodge are friendly and accommodating. There are 2 pools (small) on the property with one (infinity) overlooking the ocean. The food is excellent, great coffee and croissants. I plan to return sooner than later

Loved the staff at this property and the unique rooms in the old buildings. Now, the name is misleading… hotel really doesn’t have anything SCUBA related and that was one of the reasons we chose it. No tanks, no scuba gear drying… the neighbouring dive shop does use the garden pool but with the lack of parking using that shop was not a good choice for use. Don’t get me wrong, LOVED Scuba Lodge but if you’re a diver and thinking they cater to divers given the name that is not the case. This could be fixed with drying bars (racks don’t work for heavy gear), on site gear lockers and tank depots.
If you want personalized treatment, clean rooms, beautiful walkable location, AMAZING staff - this is the place.

We absolutely love Scuba Lodge! Have stayed here 2 times of our 3 visits to the island. The staff are awesome, the restaurant is delicious and the rooms are spectacular. I always have a lot of questions, etc and the communication from the front office is amazing. We have stayed in the 2 bedroom ocean view apartment twice, and it is one of the best rooms we've ever stayed in. We will always stay with them when we visit. I cannot say enough about the resort and the staff!

The staff here are AMAZING!
Ok, night one termites hatched and our room had flying bugs. Ghislaine came to our room and moved us. Room 2 was beautiful but right on the street where construction crews arrived bright and early every morning and where restaurant patrons are basically 15 feet from your bed (outside on a patio not the room)… and they’re having a lovely time but have to talk over the sound of the generator (yep, neighbouring property only had generator power). Staff moved us to our third room of week one. None of these things were their fault and they were amazing coming up with solutions for us.
This was a surprise 75th birthday trip. Family arrived week 2. Two standard rooms were changed to a 2 king in suite ocean front ground floor apartment. They moved my husband and I while we were away, got family in position, delivered food, a bday cake and decorated our room. It was truly a surprise and they pulled it off!
I’d go back just for the way the staff treated us! The staff here is what make the property.
The property is truly unique and delightfully small. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. Housekeeping keeps everything neat and clean. The bedding is sparkling white.
Ok. Of the 4 beds, only one had a good mattress… most were tired and should be replaced. Also, being an historic property there are signs of age which need to be addressed but when your staying in a building built in 1897 you shouldn’t expect brand new.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Scuba Lodge! Upon entry into reception we were treated like family. From reception staff, housekeeping and maintenance everyone was lovely. We loved our 2 bedroom apartment, which had two bathrooms, a half bath, washing machine and kitchen facilities.

The area surrounding the Scuba Lodge is very walkable with many of bar and restaurants in the area, along with a restaurant and bar onsite. The bar and restaurant at the Scuba Lodge food and drinks were good. Service was slow and disorganized and needs to be more streamlined and attentive but worth the stop.

We loved the Scuba Lodge and will be back.

Nice location close to shops and restaurants. The unit we had featured a full kitchen and living area as well as a lovely patio facing the ocean. The food at the restaurant was very good; however, the service was very slow so we only ate there twice for that reason. The unit had A/C in the bedrooms only, which was fine, but there are no screens on the windows, so by the end of our stay, we had some flying insects in the kitchen/living area. There is currently construction next door, which can be loud at times, and unfortunately, reduces the number of parking places on the street (obviously not the fault of the Scuba Lodge--just an annoyance at present).

Location is fabulous. Our housekeeper was wonderful. Restaurant service was terrible -
Went for our welcome drink and also asked if we could eat (long day of travelling). They advised that they had no tables after 7 as they had all been reserved but as it was just before 5 we promised we would vacate in plenty of time for the later dinner crowds. We ordered our drinks and looked at menu. About 1/2 later our drinks arrived. We then waited ... no one came to us to see about an order. They were around us but ignoring. We did ask someone if we can order food but she said someone would come back. After much more time we just got up and left ... it was 6:30pm. Terrible service and we did not even attempt to eat there during our stay so could not say how the food is ( but did find lots of great restaurants are within walking distance). The hotel location is great. Parking on street never was an issue. The actual room is in need of some upgrades. Living room furniture was falling apart and we were told (with exuberance) that we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite. As it was just my hubby and I having two bedrooms was not an upgrade. A sea view would have been an upgrade. In our suite there was a bathroom/ laundry room right by the door. It was very mildewy and we kept the door closed the entire time and it could still be smelled when entering. Our bed was super comfortable. I font know if I would book there again or look at other spots in the same area.

About the only area we were not excited about was the somewhat limited menu, and the dutch preoccupation with mayonnaise on everything. Not to worry though as there are fantastic restaurants a short walk away. Even the snorkeling at the hotel is quite nice for a quick evening paddle.

Paid for a balcony as I do with every trip. Was not given a balcony and told they do not have balcony rooms. Yet I saw them all and spoke with others. Instead I was in a room they say was an upgrade, yet our bedroom window was 3ft away from the property next door where they did construction every single day starting at 7am, banging and hammering

Staff were the nicest people I even met honestly so regardless of my negative comments I’d still give a 5Star just cuz staff were so kind

The area is undergoing revitalization, with construction happening all around. Despite that, the property and staff were absolutely fantastic. We stayed in a two-level oceanview unit, which was incredible. While the A/C was only available in the bedrooms—something my wife found inconvenient—I enjoyed the natural ocean breeze throughout the rest of the space. The full kitchen was a great feature, making it easy to prepare meals. With just a few small upgrades, this unit could be a true showstopper. We loved the variety of dining options nearby, and the city center was just a short 10-15 minute walk away. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.

Beautiful property grounds. The hotel was small and quaint and the staff was so attentive. It is within walking distance to the floating bridge area where there are many bars, restaurants and shops. The on-site restaurant is excellent for all meals. Pools were perfect. It was our anniversary and the staff made extra efforts in our room to make it very special for us and it was so appreciated. There is construction noise at the moment due to a property being built directly next door. Not the fault of Scuba Lodge but it was very loud, very early every morning. Won’t last forever obviously but good to know. Ample parking for your rental car. Overall an excellent stay. We would stay here again.

Scuba Lodge was everything because of the staff! From the time I checked in, to the first welcome drink and throughout the week, the staff were the BEST! All of them made me feel welcome, safe, and well taken care of. The rooms were clean, spacious and beautiful. Housekeeping would come in every day and clean the room, thoroughly. The location was about 20 minutes from the airport and within walking distance of many cute restaurants. The restaurant at Scuba Lodge was delicious. The service was quick and everyone was so nice and accommodating. Right next door was another amazing little restaurant that served breakfast and lunch. The pastries they had available were out of this world.
The only recommendation I have for Scuba Lodge is to allow their staff to wear shorts. Jeans do not fit with the beach theme, they are hot and uncomfortable. I could not imagine having to work in such heat in jeans! The happiness of the staff is just as important as my happiness as a guest. These people are the reason I plan to return. They deserve any little perk they can be given. I was so sad to leave them but knew I would return! Scuba Lodge management, PLEASE take care of your top-tier staff because they represent your facilities perfectly. Thank you for a wonderful vacation and I will see you guys soon, hopefully in shorts!!!! :)

The room was quite nice and had good upkeep. The bathroom was large and clean. The only issue I had was the bathroom door was glass and took away a little bit from privacy. There were 2 pools that were nice although one was small. But it was secluded. Overall a great place in a super convenient location to downtown.

Our city trip was a nightmare due this hotel

We were booked for 3 nights. Upon arrival we got to the front desk and right away the receptionist made us pay for the remaining two nights, the first one was already pre-paid. After paying we were told that our first two nights were not on their premises as they were fully booked, but in an hotel nearby. We would have to come back after two nights and checked in for our last night.
The receptionist took us to the hotel nearby, we were put in a very small room barely 12 sqm with no window. We were in shock as this was not what we paid for. Five minutes later I went back to the scuba lodge front desk to complain but it was already closed.
So we had no choice but to spend the night there. .
Back to our \"closet room\" I checked the room rate of where they put us and it was 100 dollars cheaper per night. Not only they put us in another property without telling or notifying us in advance, but they also tried to cheat us with a much cheaper night rate for what we paid for.
The next morning we went back to the front desk of scuba lodge and expressed our discontent.
We asked to speak with the manager and were told there were none on the property site.
We told the receptionist that we wanted the be reimbursed the difference in our two night rate and cancel our third night as we wanted nothing to do with scuba lodge anymore. No advanced notice, no apologies. They ruined our holiday.

The hotel is located in the vibrant Pietermaai district of Willemstad and looks like an actual dollhouse.

The staff is very warm and helpful.

I booked a city view superior room but because of a booking issue, I was given a standard room for the first night then I was moved into the two bedroom Ronde Klip suite to compensate for the booking issue.

The standard room was in the blue building above reception. It was very clean and well equipped but was pretty small. The room has a shared patio and it seems like this is the noisier side being above the reception and with guests using the shared patio (at some point, I had people sitting right outside my window which got a little awkward because I just got out of the shower and had to pretty much crawl to close the window shutters haha).

The Ronde Klip suite was on the second floor of the green building and it was amazing. It had a fully equipped kitchen (including a full size fridge with the an ice maker), the rooms were beautiful with super high ceilings and the large patio had shade in the afternoon so it was a great spot to hang out and enjoy the views of the city.

The grounds of the hotel are well maintained and beautiful. The main pool with ocean view was amazing. There was always room but shaded spots were sometimes not available in the afternoon. The second pool was nice too.

Overall, I would definitely stay at Scuba Lodge again!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Scuba Lodge. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great and enjoyed all meals there. The Dive Center is located just a few store fronts over and the staff there was great as well. Hotel is right on the water with a small infinity pool looking out over the ocean as well as the restaurant . Would definitely return.

We rented the 2 bedroom, 2 bath ocean view apartment (president suite). It is spacious, and you can see the ocean from the apartment. There's a huge wonderful patio, which is where we spent most of our time. Another plus about the property is its convenient location. We walked to many places. La Reina is a few doors down and has great iced coffee. St. Tropez and Bijblauw are both in walking distance and had good food (please try the omelets at Bijblauw). Many of the staff at the Scuba Lodge bar were kind, but Nadia, a college student, was the shining star. We happened upon the property manager, who was kind and asked how we were doing. Ok, the not so great...The bar/restaurant did not have American ketchup. We didn't know that the non-bedroom areas of the apartment are not air conditioned. (This could be an American expectation). And, the sitting area didn't have a ceiling fan. A couple times it was so hot that the sitting area was unusable! We socialized in our bedrooms, which do have air. Also, there is a tiny spiral staircase to the second bedroom. Be prepared to carry your suitcase up it. In fact, there's no elevator to the apartment so we humped it up another set of stairs to the apartment. The property is oceanfront but there is no beach for lounging. The property does not provide wash cloths (or face cloths) for bathing. (This could be another American expectation). Parking (on the street, no lot) in the eve was challenging but each time, eventually we found parking.

Overall, I had a great experience staying at Scuba Lodge. The customer service was immaculate. The only con I did have was the constant noise early in the morning that didn’t stop for hours do to renovations that were happening. The staff took care of any questions I had before my actual stay and had great communication. The room I stayed in was a standard room and honestly so cute. The area was perfect because there was so much to do just 10-15 minutes away. The queen Emma bridge was literally down the street just a 15 minute walk away along with many other cute restaurants and cafes/bars. I recommend a car to travel because taxis are expensive especially if you’re thinking about exploring the island. I absolutely recommend this place to stay and if you’re a solo traveler, curaçao is definitely an island you want to explore! Felt so safe and definitely stay around this area as it was so convenient to explore just using your own two feet. Scuba lodge and staff, we will see you again! Thank you for your hospitality.

I have had the best time at Scuba Lodge. From my check in process to the checkout process, everyone was very hospitable, welcoming, and eager to provide whatever service was needed.

Everyone at this property went out of their way to make sure my birthday was exceptional. Curacao is a must see island.

I am already planning my next trip. This is definitely a place of peace and is breathtaking. Definitely a must see.

The staff was great, very walkable, and the rooms were cleaned often. Parking is easy. If we circled around the block a couple of times we always got a spot in front of the hotel. Worst case you are a 1 min walk away to a parking lot.

We had a city-facing unit but took advantage of the spacious common areas for an ocean view. We often brought a drink or a home-cooked dinner to the man-made sandy beach area.

The property was clean, nice beach view and friendly staff. The only problem I had was that it did not have electricity in the living room. The air conditioning was very cold at night even when you adjust the setting it still cold and no blankets available. Also on Thursday there was no electricity and the property does not have generator back up so it was hot, the restaurant was close due to lack of electricity. And I had great beach view but we can not used the beach we can only look at it because it’s not safe no one can use it.

This was overall, a wonderful stay. The property is a little away from where google maps brought us but it was close enough. There was no parking, it's all street but we never really had trouble finding a convenient spot. It just seemed a little misleading that the listing said \"parking included.\" All the staff we came into contact with was very nice and friendly. My only gripe with the property is that major construction was being done right next to our unit and the work started early in the AM and ended at or around 3 PM every day. It was quite noisy and some days even very dusty. We really needed this vacation so we still found ways to enjoy the quiet that we did get after the work was over each day. However, it would have been nice for the hotel to apologize or even acknowledge that this was a pretty upsetting set of circumstances for us. The view when a construction vehicle was not present was unbeatable and we ate at the restaurant downstairs more than we planned, first because it is always open unlike most places in the area and two because it was so convenient.

The spacious apartments were perfect for a family vacation. They were comfortable, clean, and pretty. The view from out ocean front patio was phenomenal. The spacious patio was also a huge bonus for us. The staff were absolutely lovely--kind and helpful. The only negative is the beach--there really isn't one. There is a tiny section of rocks that you can stumble over to get out into the ocean. Once in the ocean, it is fabulous with terrific snorkeling. But my family and I got lots of bruises getting into and out of the water.
