amazing slice a paradise, especially after visiting the local beaches which can get crowded and little hectic. it was so nice to return to heaven after daily excursions.
the property has a lovely peaceful private beach with decent snorkeling. the staff is phenomenally kind. delicious food.

Cannot say enough amazing things about this resort. It’s quaint and very well appointed; relaxing. Every care is taken so that guests are comfortable and well cared for. They have thought of everything. Staff are amazing. Our room, The Banyan Tree Room was very clean and comfy. The outdoor shower area was amazing. They gave the bed dinner nights. The BBQ night was exquisite. The best food we had on the island!!!

Absolutely amazing! We had the private beachfront suite on the corner close to the sundeck specialty dining area. We elected for the all inclusive plan once we arrived. It did not disappoint. We did not leave our villa the first 2 days then we decided to go to the restaurant on site for lunch a couple of days and the last night on the beach for dinner. The service was fabulous, the food was amazing, the drinks never stopped, great massage outdoors, outdoor shower and bath. I just can't say enough great things about this amazing place. We cannot wait to go back!

Baoase Luxury Resort is hands down THE MOST amazing place to enjoy a couples romantic getaway or like what we did, celebrate our honeymoon. It truly was luxurious with its beautiful private beaches, white sand and crystal clear water great for snorkel just outside the lagoon. The staff were very helpful and professional, they felt like family by the end of our trip. Pro-tip: gluten-free or dairy-free visitors beware (more on that later)

The property itself was quite small; but in an intimate, cozy way. Cabs to and from their downtown area are $15 USD each way, so it didn’t make much economic sense for us to venture out to try different restaurants outside the resort. Overall: Absolutely beautiful resort, clean showers and rooms, with hit-or-miss inconsistent service. Unfortunately because of that last factor, I wouldn’t feel comfortable visiting again given how much we paid.

The most disappointing factor was their negligence of our food allergies and preferences. My partner and I specifically requested gluten and dairy-free options to be made available; especially since we were there to celebrate my birthday (and I have a gluten allergy). I included this in their welcoming survey, as well as a follow-up email. The wait staff was completely clueless and uninterested in what we could have. As one example, the first night we got there was my birthday -and I wasn’t able to enjoy a dessert that matched my preferences. The waitress had spoken to the kitchen staff (upon me insisting she ask) only to come back with “they don’t know and aren’t sure if you can have ANYTHING on the dessert menu.” Not only do they lack understanding of their own menu, unless you specifically ask and insist for them to try and tweak something to be made without gluten or dairy… Don’t expect anyone to go above and beyond to accommodate for your needs. Shameful.

Beautiful boutique resort with great service and attention to detail!

We had an amazing week long stay at the Baoase! The property is beautiful and like a Southeast Asian Oasis. Small and secluded which was perfect for us, with great rooms/villas, good food, nice beach and very attentive service.

It was really all the little things that added up to a big luxury feel. Check in takes 5 minutes over an iPad in your room. The rooms are equipped with Sonos speakers, big patios.

The beach is not huge because the property is not bit but that also leaves plenty of open beach chairs for everyone. We even alternated between sitting in the sun and in a cabana and there were lots of chairs (half the villas have a private beach and pool so they don’t even use the “main” beach). And the lounge chairs were plush and super comfy

The beach itself was perfect. They built a small island a bit out of the water that allowed for more chairs and lounging but also broke all the waves and allowed for a peaceful and private swimming area. And they bring you little snacks of the day in the morning and afternoon which was a pleasant little surprise.

Service was great too, lots of beach butlers brining you whatever you need. It’s a small family run place so management is always there and very accommodating.

We highly recommend the Baoase!!

The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful. The nicest place I have stayed by far. If you are looking to disappear (movie star style) this is the place for you.

On the other hand the drinks were expensive for what you got and for the amount of money spent on the resort stay itself. Breakfast was included and was amazing. Lunch was also not included and seemed expensive. Dinner was very good and priced high but the quality was worth the price.

If you have money to burn and want an amazing getaway this is the place for you but honestly I would not spend the money again to stay here.

Not very private. Rooms right on top of each other. \"Private Island\" vey misleading. No wifi on the beach, no music, no shoes allowed in room. Ive never seen anything like it. Very clean and nice, but not very welcoming. Key card didn't work on first attempt ever but when I reported this, the management didn't believe us! Jacuzzi didn't work upon our arrival. Was turned off and when staff came to turn it on I was told it has been shut off because it rained the day before. Total nonsense and an insult to my intelligence. The jacuzzi would be damaged by water? Yeah, no. I wish they would have simply apologized for the oversight but instead they made excuses. The food was also overworked and overpriced. Fail on all fronts.

The experience starts before you leave

Baoase sends you a note with questions about your stay; preferences, allergies and what you want to do while you are there, and you are set up to just enjoy once you are there. Once you are there it is common for the staff to stop by and chat with us and ask if there was anything we needed. They do aim to please.

The staff arranged an island trip with Carlos and he showed the island with the love he feels for it. Swimming with turtles was so amazing!

The purpose of our visit was to celebrate my best friend’s birthday and they went out of their way to make it special with balloons, cake for breakfast and the staff’s well wishes.

We stayed in an ocean front beach suite and it was incredible. We had our own plunge pool, direct access to the beach and an outdoor kitchen area all very private and hidden behind lush palm trees and greenery. The private outdoor shower in the back was gorgeous and so was the bed and the bathroom sinks.

There are multiple cabanas and enough for everyone, so you don't need to reserve one. The beach butlers offered small snacks everyday along with fresh coconuts, fruit smoothies, etc. They are attentive without being bothersome.

We stayed at Baoase for Memorial Day weekend and brought our infant with us. It was the most beautiful and serene experience that we have had in a long time. The property is absolutely gorgeous and all of the staff are top-notch professionals with grace and care. We will make this location an annual family trip! It doesn't get better than this and we have been all over the Caribbean! Jessie is an awesome General Manager too!

The ultimate luxury experience!

While at first I was not thrilled about the lack of an open beach but rather a lagoon, I was soon wowed with the opulent room and phenomenal staff. Every detail was attended to with a smile and precision. I’ve traveled throughout the Caribbean and have not stayed in a better resort. Definitely treat yourself to a massage. It was the best I have ever had. I’ll definitely be back!

We had a fabulous time at Baoase. Our room (107), a two bedroom villa with pool, were beautiful. We found the staff to be friendly and warm. The food was absolutely delicious. All day they surprise you with food samples of their cuisine. The pool chaise longues are incredibly comfortable. We had two amazing scuba dives with Carlos. Lastly, the location is great and easy to take a $15 cab ride to shopping and restaurants.

Amazing honeymoon suite. Has front ocean view with great sunset views. Snorkeling right off the beach was an unforgetable experience. The food prepared by their chef was delicious. Got to try their amuse suprise appetizers. Everyday you have a different experience in tasting. The location was perfect, close to casinos and very close to dive spots. Never saw so many corals and fish. Excellent 5 star hotel.

Best resort in Curacao, hands down

We were looking for a place to relax and be pampered in the Caribbean. Baoase stood out because of its elegance, beauty, and charm. A couple things to know about Curacao... the best sandy beaches are in the Western part of the island, but most of the better hotels are in the center, around the capital. In this part, the beaches are smaller (not as deep) but they have many beautiful lagoons and a reef close to shore. Baoase constructed a few small islands (one with a helicopter pad) into the shape of a C. The small beach is calm and beautiful. You can swim inside the C or between the little islands and out into the sea. The restaurant is on the sand and elegant. The whole resort has an Asian vibe. The rooms are beautiful, cool, and elegant. The best part of the hotel has to be the incredible staff. They go out of their way to get to know who you are and what you like. They quickly knew what our favorite drinks were, what we liked for breakfast etc. They really made us feel at home, if we lived in a beautiful resort surrounded by friends. Thank you Tom for all of your help at breakfast, Romero the amazing beach butler (for the bags of ice :) and Jennifer, Rich, and Oliver for taking such good care of us. Can't wait to go back.

Good but pricey!

We can for our honeymoon and wanted a luxury experience, so chose to stay in a honeymoon suite. The first thing you notice about Baoase is how expensive it is compared to every other hotel (like 5 or 6 times more a night). Because of the price, we were expecting a higher level of service and amenities. Baoase is a great resort for a quiet beach steps from your room, and good (VERY expensive) food. The rooms are incredibly luxurious, with a great turn-down service that included candles being lit, and treats on the bed. Our highlight was the free breakfast; it was delicious and just about the only thing we could fully enjoy without stressing about the price. It was a luxury experience, but we were unsure whether the price warranted the experience and service we received. We found service to sometimes be slow or off, and had a few communication problems due to language. Also, our hot tub was being constantly monitored and cleaned to the point where we could not use it and we felt our privacy was encroached.

Pleasant staff, top notch customer service, everyone knew us before we had arrived. The resort was beautiful and designed to allow for privacy; great romantic getaway for a couple celebrating a special occasion or just wanting to spend intimate time together. No additional cost for breakfast; however dinner was sort of pricey but there are plenty of other dining options available via cab or short drive. My only complaint was the water temperature in my room never got hot to my liking it was lukewarm to warm and the temperature in the jacuzzi was not hot as well; however I would return and recommend this establishment to others.

5 Star Boutique Oasis

Our family of 4 stayed at the Baoase in Curacao in March of 2016. Everything was top notch from the facilities, to the staff, to the food. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world, but what sets the Baoase apart was the boutique feel and attention to detail. The hotel is family run and you can tell that they take much pride in what they do. Every effort was made to get to know us by name and to remember our preferences. At the time, the hotel consisted of 24 units, mostly 2 to 4 bedroom villas. Most had their own access to a pool shared by 4 units and a direct access to the beach. We were told it was fully booked at the time of our stay, but we would never have known. Although the hotel opens its open air restaurant to the public on occasion, they will limit seating to make sure that their staying guests take priority. There was a small protected beach and everything had a Balinese feel. The grounds were immaculate. We could walk to a local marketplace from the hotel and all activities could be arranged from the hotel. In addition, we could kayak and snorkel right from the beach. While there was enough on Curacao to keep us busy, we often didn't want to wander beyond the resort, and that was unusual for our active family! We highly recommend it!

The very definition of a 5 star hotel

From the moment we got there the staff was amazing and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. We had the good fortune of having light construction being done next to our standard room, they immediately changed our room and upgraded us to their \"private villa with exclusive pool\" a room that was triple the cost! We didn't even have to ask... it was ready the moment we arrived. Would absolutely come here again.

Great Grounds, Caution with this Resort Required

Do not take the travel package to and from the resort to the airport. Taxi must less expensive, they call a taxi to pick you up anyway. Big rip-off

Do not take the Klein Curacao excursion with the resort, look into Mermaid Boat Trips. Your experience on Klein Curacao will be much better, with the island's only beach house. People were sitting out in the blistering sun on beach towels, no chairs on Klein Curacao. Mermaid had chairs and lots of shade.

Be cautious of the beach butlers, ours was very unhelpful and caused problems, others were great.

Be advised the beach suites do not ALL have beaches, our beach suite had rocks with a glimps of the water behind the rocks. Deceiving description of the room. This resort is completely man made, nothing natural about the man made lagoon. The weren't beaches at all!

Resort Manager said puzzling things about gay travelers. Gay Travelers welcome if, \"not too gay\".

Baoase is absolutely incredible! We have stayed in resorts the world over, hundreds over our 17 years together and traveling the world over. This place was magical beyond belief. The grounds, the decor, the love and passion the owners have clearly put into this place is every present at every turn and leaves an eternal mark on one's soul.

The service was amazing. The food in the restaurant incredible. It truly reflected passion, dedication, and a firm desire to leave guests with memories that will last a life time.

Such a gem in a world filled with \"over designed\" \"Over priced\" 5 star hotels and resorts. I am officially given Baoase the inexistent, 6 stars!

The romance of the grounds, the beautiful spacious villas, the incredible cuisine Chef Rene delights your palet with, the feeling of being in a family owned resort that has been warped by commercial arrogance found in the larger chain resorts, will leave you wanting to return to this place over and over again.

Bravo to the owners and staff that made this weekend for me and my partner one of the best in comparison to hundreds of places we have stayed before!

Definately not worth the money!

The customer service in this hotel is very dissapointing particular reception staff, especially when you consider how much you are paying per night for accomodation only! Several things got confused by staff and mistakes occured; with wrong meals being ordered, a trip they booked was booked for 5 people instead of 2; leading to an embarrassing sitn when the tour operator was clearly dissapointed by the loss of revenue. I requested to see another villa whilst I was there incase we wanted to rebook different accom in the future - it took over 36 hours to come back to me and they only acted on this after I said I was dissapointed. Th shower in the 3 bedroom villa did not work fully ie the steam function, dissapointing as this was supposed to be an added luxury feature. We were told initially they were waiting on a part to replace the faulty part and then told that none of the steam functions in the showers in any of the villas worked so this explanation did not stack up and we could not understand why, if this was the case, it had not been sorted sooner. The outside light to our pool entrance did not work, only half the lights on the patio wooden decked floor worked and we got the overall impression that maintenence is not a priority. We also had the only pool closed for cleaning which was understandable but it was closed 4pm to 1.30pm the following day and the alternative pool was the hotel owners pool and it was dirty with stacked up furniture we were not allowed to use!

Peaceful oasis in Curacao

Before going to Baoase, we stayed at the Kura Hulanda hotel for 2 nights in Willemstad due to availability at Baoase. It was a good experience to have the 2 aspects of the hotel stays.
Baoase was a little oasis in the middle of a residential area. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We got great advice on a restaurant for our anniversary dinner. We had to flag down the serving staff at times to get another item or bill, but that may be more of an 'island time' thinking than inattentiveness.
The villas and grounds were always clean and appealing. There are plenty of places to lounge - your villa, the pool, the lagoon, the 3 sections of beach, the dining area or the bar.
Our villa was nicely appointed with rich colors and clean lines, and comfortable furnishings. The grounds had a lot of plants and statues making it look like it's been there for decades. The villas were close together but didn't feel like you were on top of each other. And they're laid out so you're not looking into any other's living space. I'm not sure that there's any reason to select beach front versus beach view (we had a 3 bedroom ocean view), as the plantings and layout give you more of a 'view' than 'front' feeling anyway (none are directly on the sand).
You will need a car or transportation arrangements to get around to sightsee on the island.
I would HIGHLY recommend Baoase to anyone traveling to Curacao, even for a visit for lunch or dinner if you do not stay there.

An Awesome Resort

The villa is so beautiful. The resort does not have a lot of rooms so it is very quiet. The views in all of the villas or suites are spectacular. The chef - Rick is awesome. From the minute we arrived we felt very special. The staff caters to every need. The outside shower in one of the bathrooms in the villa was wonderful. The decor of the entire resort is beautiful. This resort is beautiful and should be a 6 star!
