Staff were nice, room was super cute! No hot water and most of all the room had zero insulation and we felt like we were in the middle of the street parties every night for all hours! 😆
Especially disliked the motorcycle driver that revved his engine SUPER loud all 3 nights we stayed! If you value your sleep you may want to pick another spot.

Pietermaai Boutique Hotel is at the very nice location. It is away from the busier street but very close to nearby restaurant. The oceanfront view from the penthouse is wonderful. The staff is very courteous. They went out of the way to accommodate our need. We had a great experience.

Room was very clean! Close to a lot of restaurants and bars. Staff very nice.

Note : washroom in our room was not a separate room - could see toilet and shower fully from the bed (which we were okay with) - there is a half wall!

They have other rooms that aren’t like this but good to ask if booking unless you are comfortable like us!

AC was amazing and the space overall was cool. We loved the pool as well!

We were upgraded to a suite on the top floor and it was wonderful. It was a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom space over looking the sea. We didn’t feel like leaving the room as it was so relaxing there. The location is also great in walking distance to town and wonderful restaurants. The hotel staff was very pleasant and special mention to Ravindra from Suriname who made the stay more enjoyable with his warm friendly nature.

Recommendation - rooms should contain body lotion. I didn’t ask them at the front desk and I’m sure they would have given me but everything else was amazing.

Oh My . . . Pietermaai!

We stayed in a 2 bd Penthouse Ste. w/seaview. Though it was not the same layout as in the advertised images (something that should be ironed out), the suite was great in design, decor, view, and so on. Great air flow, which meant there wasn't really a need to use air conditioning. Room service was excellent. Indeed, all staff we encountered were wonderful. For a suite at that price point, however, kitchen utensils should really be improved. The few pans were falling apart at the handles, and the same was true of spatula. Worse, the teflon was peeling off of the pans, which is a toxicity problem! A member of the family has a very specialized diet for health reasons, so while we do eat out, we tend to need a place with a kitchen to make sure she has proper nourishment if unable to get her what she needs at restaurants. Cooking in the kitchen would have been easier with better quality kitchen items, and a blender would have been nice.

I enjoyed my stay. People just need to remember it’s a historic building and not a five star resort. I personally thought it was cute. A little noisy because my room was beside a restaurant and a building they were doing repairs on but it was horrible. Now a rented the split level. Maneuvering the stairs with my bag was difficult but I managed. The stairs are very narrow and has a turn to them. So if you are tall it maybe uncomfortable. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 because I liked the history feel and convenience of location

The hotel was amazing with helping with rental car accommodations after we arrived. Everyone was friendly and very welcoming. The street behind the hotel does have live music some days of the week so if you go to bed early you will hear it for a bit (we enjoyed the live music). Great walking distance to Punda and Queen Emma’s bridge. Overall a great experience.

Great stay. The hotel is amazing. The entire district is being flipped. A lot of construction and renovation in area properties. We highly recommend Pietermaai hotel but just be open to the near ghetto appearance of some of the area properties. Go in with an open mind. Thus is a very old community that is experiencing a huge rebuild. In a few years this will be a breathtaking destination

The location was within walking distance to important attractions BUT taxis are very expensive SO renting a car is truly something to consider if staying for more than 3 days.
Not everything, even when stated as 20 minutes, is walkable in the hot sun.

Finally, there is the most adorable cat I've ever met (and I'm over 50). S/he is sweet and trusting and relies on the kindness of customers for love and food. I named her \"Dushi Cat\" in honor of Curacao and their love of life and its beauty. I've been told that management isn't a huge fan, BUT she made my trip extra special. To those who encounter this angel, please buy proper cat food or make sure anything you give the cat is okay for cats to eat. I very much enjoyed my stay at Pietermaii Boutique Hotel. It's NOT a Marriott, and that's the point.

Due to a construction problem, water ran from the shower onto the bedroom floor and on the floor below. After a week, they moved us to another room. I feel that Management should have responded faster. I was told that this was a long term problem at this hotel.

Historic Hotel in Lively Pietermaai

A gorgeous old building with a mixture of rooms. Ours was room 21 which faced into a courtyard behind Ginger restaurant and backed onto the pool area where we had our own little table and chairs to chill. Large room but toilet and shower upstairs up a very steep staircase - this is an old building but if you're infirm then would be good to know in advance. Location is safe and fun - in the middle of the Pietermaai district which is very lively especially on Thursday nights! Would definitely return. Great restaurants and bars on your doorstep yet just a 10 minute walk to the town center.

I enjoyed my stay in a deluxe room. The room was clean and had everything I needed. It was walkable to restaurants and shopping. My only complaints are that parking can be tricky since it’s street parking only and if the street parking fills up, which it did, you have to park further away and pay for parking. My other complaint, though I don’t know that the hotel had any control over it was that there was a dog in the alley directly behind my room that barked constantly. Woke me up during the night and super early in the morning every night that I was there. Otherwise, I had a nice stay and the staff are very kind and helpful.

It was very cute and very comfortable. My room Had window that was accessible from the street that did not lock, they were trying to schedule repair, but it’s an island and things move slow, so I found a way to tie the window to an object in the unit and said just wait til I check out to repair it. They suggest eating at Van Gogh’s, but it wasn’t great and rarely had seating.

We really enjoyed staying here. This is our third trip to Curaçao and every time we stay somewhere else and always notice this place on our walking into town. So this time we decided to stay here and we weren’t disappointed. we were allowed to use the pool before our room Was ready and we enjoyed that plus poolside service. Too bad no Soft drinks, but they don’t advertise that they have any food or drinks available so it was a nice bonus to have the wine. The young woman who checked us in was amazing and the upgraded Room was very wonderful because my hips don’t like stairs - I’ve had both of them replaced. We will be back!

Very cute boutique hotel in a great area. Many fantastic restaurants and bars within an easy 10 minute walk in the Pietermaai neighborhood. Downtown and the floating bridge was also a 10 minute walk. On street parking was no issue as we always found parking nearby and easy driving access to the rest of the island. Staff were very helpful. We had a great time - thanks!

This is located on the downtown area and can be a bit noisy on certain nights. Many restaurants within walking distance but depending on the night may not have any availability- which we found out. Staff was accommodating- room was interesting. At least the one we had was like in the basement so very dark.

Hits and missed at Pietermaai

The hotel is in a historic district that is gradually being “cleaned up” from previous dereliction. Expect to see many empty lots with wire fences and near-ruined houses close by. If this will bother you, think twice. Also, you will see some gorgeous examples of restoration, including the main building of the hotel itself, which is lov. There are two rooms in that building; the rest are scattered over a number of old and newer buildings.
We had a loft room. There was no soap for the sink in the tiny bathroom. The bathroom
walls were black (not sure of the material), combined with harsh halogen lighting, that managed to be both dark and blinding at the same time. The bed is upstairs where there is no closet or drawers to unpack. Your suitcase must stay on the floor, as there is not even a luggage rack. Only a standing clothes rack near the bed can hold some hanging things.
The best part of this hotel is the lovely courtyard, which many rooms lead onto. It is leafy and tropical, full of birds, and has a nice little pool with a waterfall effect. The pool could have been a bit cleaner. There is a second pool area we did not use.
The staff were friendly and responsive in making reservations for us. The hotel is an easy walk to the main downtown area, harbour, etc, and there are great restaurants close by.

Unique hotel created by renovations of older buildings in historic neighborhood. We enjoyed walking and exploring center of town. Nice restaurants nearby. Stairs to 2nd floor room were narrow, and slanted ceilings needed to be watched when walking around bed.

We did not like: There were a lot of mosquitoes. The room was dark and it was not preferable to open windows. There is no soap in the bathroom, they put it only in the shower. You can have it when you ask to reception.
