Was relatively clean pool was never running and was green by the time we left. Location is great staff was very friendly and made up for the few minor issues we had. For the price we paid it was an ok hotel it just hot in there court yard and really wish the pool was usable to help keep cool in the evening when you return back to the hotel

Cutest boutique hotel!

We booked Klooster after a terrible experience with Airbnb and we were so happy with our experience! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating - we asked for an adapter & a wine opener on two separate occasions and they were so helpful. The hotel itself is SO cute, situated in the best part of Willemstad - the area you absolutely want to stay in if you come to curacao. We were a short walk away from all of the fun parts of Pietermaai each night. We walked to dinner and drinks every night and it was so fun and felt so safe. The room was adorable with a pink accent wall, beautiful tile, TWO showers, shelves & a hanging space for our clothes. The bed was comfortable, and the AC kept the room perfectly cool. The hotel is setup where the rooms are on the perimeter of an open air courtyard and this was so cool to walk through each night, and there were tables outside of your doors so we had coffee on the patio every morning. 12/10 experience, would absolutely only stay here on our next trip to curacao!!

A comfortable experience

I needed a hotel in the area. I was not in Curacao on a vacation but needed to be centrally located. It was a boutique hotel that was perfect for my needs. The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable and the front end staff was amazing. Sharon, who works in the front end was terrific! The breakfast buffet very good. And the courtyard by the pool was a relaxing oasis.

I actually didn’t stay at Klooster we were offered an upgrade at there sister property next door called BOHO. This place was much more modern and stylish. Very clean!!!
Very safe!!! Hotel staff tending to our every request and made our stay very comfortable. Both hotels are centrally located and walking distance to plenty of Resturaunt sand also downtown near queen Emma bridge. The room included Netflix and YouTube on the smart th which was good for entertainment. The only thing was the water pressure/temperature was like warm at best but other wise we loved staying at BOHO hotel (owned by Klooster) and would stay again and also recommend it to others.

The motel is beautiful from the outside and the courtyard garden has a lot of vegetation and nice area to relax. The pool is small and is only cleaned once a week so there is leaves, pieces of paper etc that fall in and stay there until there next cleaning day.
The rooms are large and fairly clean. It has very basic older fixtures, only cold water in the bathroom sink. The shower is large has minimal spray and the shower curtain at the bottom is moldy. There is another sink in the main room that has hot water.
There is a refrigerator, air conditioner, TV, wardrobe. The bed is hard and uncomfortable.
The breakfast is served in the courtyard and is good. We had ours in the cost of our room otherwise $15 per person. The have a restaurant next door.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They speak English well.
There is no smoking in the rooms. Unfortunately people can smoke in the courtyard so the smoke seeps into the rooms.
Location is great for exploring Willemstad on foot and only couple of blocks from the sea.

hotel is charming, a former monastery with nice common space. Beds are very comfortable, fridge, and coffee maker useful. However, negatives are, not enough lighting, and bugs getting into rooms. I stayed three days and no one made up the room or emptied the garbage even though I asked each day?????? Staff is nice. Lucky I’m very neat, but I had to gather up toilet paper, towels, etc every evening when I got back. Location is a bit out of the center, but very walkable.

This hotel is great for the active vacationer. We were not here very much during day since we were always out at the beach. It is a great base since it has a nice comfortable bed with good linens, an individual air conditioning unit that you can set the temperature to your comfort level, located in a historical building, good security, close to many great eateries and the iconic harbour front. It is a three star accommodation since the floor and towels were dated/worn. However, if you are an active vacationer, this place is great.

Great hotel in downtown.

We stayed here for 3 nights and didn’t have no issues. Hotel it’s well located in the heart of downtown Willemstad. Walking to the Harbor it’s like 6-8 min walk, not bad if you are into walking. They offered breakfast but to be honest I think it’s a little pricey for the type of breakfast and the average price around same area. They do not own an parking , you park on your own risk at street parking. Room are super cozy and the outside shower was amazing. Overall this place it’s wonderful, highly recommend.

A lovely, small, quiet, and friendly sanctuary! My room opened into a courtyard of
tropical, flowering plants, palms, cacti--several varieties of birds, including the yellow
bananaquins flitted from tree to tree. In the evening you can sit under the stars & feel
the breeze. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
About 3 blocks in one direction, you'll find City Beach, 2 blocks the other way, a lake.
Walking distance to many attractions. All of the hotel staff could not have been
friendlier or more helpful--everyone there so kind & gracious. The chapel restaurant,
\"Blessings\" was a delight, able to make me a vegetarian dish --delicious!
Memories of my stay at
't Klooster will be treasured.

We found Hotel t'Klooster to be a lovely little sanctum in the Pietermaai district. It's a beautifully-restored building with friendly, helpful, attentive service and congenial guests. During our stay it seemed the clientele were mostly Dutch, as was the case throughout Willemstad and Curacao itself.

The rooms are ample without being enormous, and the outdoor shower (don't worry, there's a regular indoor one as well) was a great place to rinse the salt off my gear and myself after a day of SCUBA diving. The room appointments are relatively simple but entirely adequate.

There are several nice restaurants in easy walking distance, and a good dive operation just two streets over. Be sure to include at least one dinner at Blessings, the restaurant connected to the hotel- the chef is an artist, and very engaging.

The neighborhood itself is relatively busy but that doesn't penetrate to the interior courtyard or hotel rooms. And, in the evenings, things are pretty quiet.

The hotel is small and provides a relaxed and quiet environment. The rooms on the outside, with seating areas, the small pool, and the breakfast area in the middle was a great overall layout and with 25 rooms we never felt like the common facilities were busy or crowded. Our room could have used better lighting, but no serious complaints. The staff were outstanding, providing answers to all our questions and with reservations for tours, cars, and restaurants.

This was the perfect hotel, in the best area of Curaco. Walking distance to the city, restaurants, local markets. You do need a car as well, to make it to the nicest beaches which are about a 40 minute drive, well worth the drive, we did it everyday there and back. Its a quite hotel, with a beautiful area to sit and relax.

Nice hotel for the budget hotel

Although this hotel doesn't have an ocean front view it is a nice boutique hotel with a great staff. There courtyard was beautiful with plants adorning the whole area, making it feel like you're wasting among the jungle. The breakfast buffet left much to be desired for $16 was very simple. The staff was very nice and the room was nice and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the budget traveler.

Unique hotel in cool neighborhood.

We stayed in room 11 off of the courtyard. We had our own outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach and a regular shower. Wifi and air conditioning worked fine. Pool was nice. Lots of nice looking restaurants in the area, as well as picturesque crumbling mansions, some restored. We booked a car through Budget Avila Hotel which was a 10 minute walk away. We took bus 4B from the airport to Otrobanda and walked 20 minutes to the hotel with backpacks.

My stay of 11 days was great all around. The staff was pleasant to interact with at all times and was responsive to any requests. My room, while small, was more than adequate for a single person. With 2 it might be a bit tight, especially if both are trying to get changed or use the bathroom. The large courtyard in the middle of the hotel was a fantastic place to lounge, though be sure to bring your mosquito spray. While breezes would come in, they weren't enough to blow out the mosquitoes, so they could be annoying at times. The location of the hotel puts it just a short walk from many historical sites of downtown Willemstad and there are numerous restaurants and clubs nearby. I also greatly enjoyed the food at the attached restaurant Blessing. While the menu is limited, both with food and alcohol, it was top notch all around. I'll definitely be staying there again if/when I come back.

Our stay was nice. It's totally different to what I'm used to. To relax and get rid of stress it's the perfect place to be. The staff is very friendly and treat you like a family member. What I miss is the open view like I'm used to at the Otrobanda Hotel. But the beds at 't Klooster are more comfortable, the rooms are spacious and have everything a person needs.

We chose this hotel because it was close to Curacao Marine, where our boat. We needed a place to stay while we were working on the boat. It is a clean comfortable room and the courtyard is pleasant to sit in and read or have breakfast. We didn't use the pool, but it looked fine. The staff are friendly and helpful. We needed to have something printed and they were able to do so. We even received a present at the end of our stay. I would recommend this hotel to someone who is not looking to spend a lot of money, but want a nice place to stay.

This was a very nice place to stay. The rooms are small but not tiny and why would you want to spend time in the room anyway? The staff was very nice and helpful. The \"free parking\" is street parking but there really is plenty of it. We walked from here to the queen bridge multiple times - felt safe and comfortable as long as it was the two of us together, even at 2 or 3 am. The pool is tiny but again, don't both with the pool - go to the beach. I think this is a good hotel if you're renting a car.

We had a one day stay in Willemstad and picked this hotel for its convenience and moderate price (for the area). The rooms are accessed from a central courtyard with ample chairs, small tables and even a couple hammocks to enjoy the beautiful Curacao weather. A very pleasant place stay within easy walking distance of the main tourist area in Willemstad.

In addition to our annual timeshare week in Curacao, we like to stay at other hotels on the island. Had been to this hotel last December for a holiday craft show and knew had to stay here. Small intimate Dutch hotel in heart of city and new hip neighborhood in converted monestary. Compact rooms but spacious. Lovely courtyard with pool. Great new restaurant inside former chapel. Quiet inside while city occasionally noisy outside. Location walkable to shops and restaurants and attractions. Free guarded parking.

Friendly Clean Hotel

We used this hotel as a quick overnight between Bonaire and Miami. The hotel is in a great city location in what looks like the historic district and within walking distance of the coast. The hotel is an old monastery with the room doors right off a central enclosed court yard. It is not the Marriott, but it is nicely restored- love the historic charm. The staff was very friendly and accommodated us in our very early checkout. We did not get to try the breakfast, but you ordered what you wanted the night before instead of buffet style. Hotel staff arranged all the taxi service for us to and from the airport and gave us a nice welcome drink of sweet tea on our arrival. The beds were comfy, the shower hot, and the price was reasonable....all you could ask for. We would stay there again.

Perfect boutique hotel for the best of both worlds

This hotel treated my boyfriend and I very well!! Upon our late arrival, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. They showed great concern for our safety and were sure to give us great advice on where to go and what to do.
Our room was spacious and very clean. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you.
The best part about the hotel is that it's a mere 3 minutes from Piasa Bieu, which was the BEST place to go for lunch. Can't beat that!
Overall, the staff was amazing and really forthcoming with information and great advice on how to best enjoy the island. The decor was very simple and chic. The ambiance provided tranquility and definitely made you feel safe.
The only downside was the water pressure in the shower and the lack of soap bars, but other than that I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Great budget hotel - very northern european

t Klooster offers affordable lodging on a typically expensive island. Although the neighborhood was once quite dangerous & may revert to that status, it is currently trendy & offers a number of chic restaurants. It is advisable to rent a car since the beaches are 15-20 minutes away by car & taxis are expensive.

The hotel is beautiful and very close to down town and the markets. There are also some great bars and restaurants walking distance. The rooms are small but that was expected and most people choose to sit in the court yard. The girl working the desk when we checked in was RUDE. They tried to process four different credit and debit cards for the deposit and none of them worked. She refused to admit that if might be their fault or that the system was down. We went shopping in town and our cards worked fine. When I tried to explain this to her, she gave me a dirty look and insisted that the problem was not on their end.

The room was very comfortable and clean, the hotel is very nice and well located, breakfast was excellent, although a bit pricey, hotel staff was very diligent and kind. Definetely recommended.

Old Hotel, Good Location

I got an initial shock after entering this hotel. So old! However I recovered soon and made myself comfortable because they are maintaining it as well as they can. I will choose it again because there will be no shock the next time! The location is good.

Disappointed

Huge Disappointment

Visited for four nights for 39th anniversary, huge disappointment! Air conditioning out first night and staff refused alternate accommodations request. No towels, no toilet paper, sheets never changed, light fixtures didn't work, no air conditioning in bathroom, no phone, bar usually closed. Bar and cafe and lobby had no air conditioning. No apologies for any of the above.

pleasantly surprised

Close to the center of town, very quaint and cozy. Upon our arrival I was skeptical of the area, but learned by day 2 we were in a decent spot. The room was a lot smaller than I desired, but I grew to like it. My husband thought it was great because of the outdoor shower option! The staff was fabulous and became like family. The bar was very modern an chic! There I NO phone in the hotel! Good times and excellent price.

Quaint hotel with historical roots.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Bob (hotel staff), though it was 2:30 AM. The reception area opens up into an interior patio sourrounded by single rooms. The patio also contains a small, but clean, pool. This hotel was originally a cloister, similar to a monastery. It's architectural features denote its origins and the bright colors it sports are typical of Curacao. I would stay there again.

Beautiful historical building

Beautiful historical and nicely renovated building; nice clean rooms that look onto the large and pleasant courtyard; continental breakfast too expensive, lack of screens on windows mean easy entry for mosquitoes; great location a short walk from Punda. Would stay there again.
