Overall, the property is well-maintained. Buffet has lots of international offerings, but the quality is ok. When booking restaurants on premises, the food portions are extremely small. Even with a party of 6, at the barbecue they served us one plate, that's all you could get. It came with one 1/4 piece of corn on the cob, 6 ribs. Requests for more were always acknowledged but never delivered. Lost hot water for several days in the rooms. Bartenders, hit or miss, some were very attentive when tipped, others were more interested in joking with each other, and often I or others were ignored. In one case, a couple sitting at the pool bar asked if they could get some service; they were told to get up and wait in line, then mocked by all the bartenders. Management was non-existent; it seemed most bars were managed by young adults who were more interested in serving locals on day passes than the full-paying guests. Suggest that a review of management practices, with more management on site to see guest experiences. Sad that none of the couples we traveled with will be back or recommend to others. This is a short list. If I owned this hotel, I would be horrified at what is happening.

The property is large and on our side fairly quiet with mostly adults, and a great outdoor bar. The rooms were clean and the food was mostly good. Lots of buffet choices but a couple of restaurant food experiences that were not great.

They say adults only but that was not the case at The Rif where I stayed there were at least a hand full of kids and infants as well not to nosey but very noticeable. The swim out pool is not as warm as one would think. Housekeepers were friendly, one night room service never showed up and actually canceled my order. Food was maybe a 7/10 I enjoyed seeing the different ships at the dock.

We did get a partial view ocean room but after having to remind them about our reservation because they gave us a different room than what we booked. The service is bad, staff is lazy not worth the money you spend. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, what the online reviews say are true and they are bad!

We had a great stay. Food at the buffet was very good. Our room was very nice. Pool was beautiful. Bars and drinks great. Staff were friendly. Not a good beach for snorkeling. We traveled to other beaches for that. We paid extra for a partial ocean view room. We could see about a 10% view of the ocean when there was no cruise ship parked. Our biggest complaint was the view from our room on the first floor. 90% of our view was of a work area that had two very large refrigerator units that had very loud motors running. It was difficult to even carry on a conversation on the balcony. Not the vacation view we paid extra for. Make sure you’re on a higher floor further away from the main lobby if a better balcony view is important to you.

The property was beautiful, convenient to the airport, and had lovely amenities, most notably the fitness center and the coffee shop. We didn't swim in the pool, but it looked large and clean and rarely crowded. The beach area was also spacious with plenty of chairs and shade, and the swimming lagoon was clean and not too rocky, with nice formations for snorkeling and observing fish. I thought swimming in the shadow of massive cruise ships would feel uncomfortable, but it was actually quite striking, and the ships acted as a jetty to calm the waves. The food was hit-or-miss; the buffet was large and had an excellent selection as long as the food hadn't run out (it often had). The ala carte restaurants were near-impossible to reserve, and the one we did land (Sofra, the Turkish restaurant) was delicious but may well have been responsible for my partner and me suffering for the remainder of the trip. The bar staff were friendly and competent, although there was inconsistency between bartenders as far as drink recipes. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a large plush bed and functional adequate air conditioning. However, the room had only one wardrobe with a few shelves (one occupied by the room safe), and there wasn't room for my partner and I to unpack. The room was certainly large enough to accommodate an additional dresser. All said it was a pleasant experience, but disappointing that there were missed opportunities to make it truly spectacular.

The air did not work in the room. They refused to give me another room and lied about having a fan to provide. The GM was rude, inconsiderate, and non accommodating. He walked away mid conversation and refused to communicate stating it was nothing he could do at the moment. The bathroom in my room smelled like sewage. The shower water didn't get hot and the water pressure was very low. I was told I couldn't have new wash cloths and towels but every 3 days. The restaurants require reservations to be made the day before by 4pm which means you'll miss your 1st 2 nights of a good sit down meal. It cost to reserve the cabanas at the pool and beach area. Some of the employees are rude.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESORT!! Everything about staying here was horrible. I can’t even begin to explain how bad the service was, how unclean it was. When we were outside the hotel everyone knew it is the worse resort on the island. How this resort was ranked a 4.5 has to be a farce. Not one person at the resort was happy. It is so bad. Just do not go!!

We really enjoyed our 8 days at The Rif. The rooms were cleaned daily, you just have to request it on the app that morning. Also, don't forget to reserve the restaurants on the app too, we were able to to visit one everyday, our favs were the BBQ and the sushi place.

The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere has great potential. However, our experience was disappointing in several key areas.

Room cleaning service was inconsistent and below expectations. The bigger issue was the dining experience. The buffet was poorly managed — food trays were frequently empty and not replenished in a timely manner. Dinner opened at 7:00 PM, but by 7:45 PM many items were already gone and replaced very slowly. If you arrived around 8:30–9:00 PM, there was barely any food left, which is unacceptable for a resort setting.

The wait time for food was frustrating because items simply weren’t being restocked efficiently. In addition, the staff appeared disengaged and unmotivated, often walking around as if they didn’t want to be there. Customer service energy plays a huge role in hospitality, and unfortunately, it was lacking during our stay.

The property has strong potential, but significant improvements are needed in food service management and staff engagement to meet the standard guests would expect.

Upon checking in, the room smelled like sewage and mildew. Throughout our stay there were several issues:
Mold and mildew in the bathroom
No washcloths are available at this hotel
The food at the buffet was nasty.
The restaurants often ran out of food.
We had to move rooms at 1am because the toilet wouldn’t stop running and it ended up overflowing.
The air conditioning was loud.
The staff was not friendly and often rude. We asked for a bellman to help with bags since we had to more rooms at 1am and the Front Desk agent lied saying she was the only person on staff, but when we came to the front desk there were 8 staff members just standing around.

Rooms very well kept. Food at buffet was very good but ran out of items frequently. Had to wait to long for omelets or fried eggs. All restaurants are understaffed so getting items quickly is not possible. Fish restaurant was outstanding. Some restaurant staff were not friendly or happy to be at the resort- many were.
Communication was poor for activities outside of the resort.
“Ocean view” blocked everyday by cruise ship.

Room and hotel are very nice. Unfortunately the staff seem to dislike their jobs, very poor service. Reception answered their phone 2 out of ten times. Requiring us to walk down in person to try to have our questions answered. Had to request toilet paper after room cleaning and had to go in person at 10:30 PM to pick up in person. Ordered room service once and it took over an hour past the stated delivery time ( again had to go in person to enquire). Food is beyond repetitive, typically warm to cold and got to a point that we left the resort to buy food elsewhere. If they could fix the staff/service and improve their food offerings and quality this would be a top rated resort.

Nice atmosphere and mostly accommodating. The Rif is (supposedly?) the side of the Corendon resort that is more geared toward couples and not really for kids, but we had our 11yo and plenty of people had kids on the property. The beaches were clean and the cabana was worth renting for some shaded luxury. We went in early Feb - not too crowded except the mobs at the buffet for breakfast and lunch. Some tours are only available on certain days - plan in advance.

When we arrived, around 4:30pm, our room still wasn’t ready. Better yet, we missed making reservations for dinner that night so had to eat at one of the less ok spots (Harbor.) They had weird rules about reservations- can only make them between 10am and 4pm, and either for same day or one day in advance. But we noticed plenty of spots available for nights we had reservations….it seems people just make reservations and skip out later. We overheard one group talk about making multiple reservations in one night.

The app is a pain in the butt…works differently for everyone, said someone actually behind the desk.

The kids waterpark was great, according to my son, but low water pressure shut down one of the best slides he whole day he was there, and shut down the biggest slide after he got to ride it a few times.

The fire alarm sounded twice one night and once another night. The WiFi in the Rif busted for the last two days we were there, so had to suck it up and pay roaming charges for some key communications.

This resort has it all! Its beautiful and clean and excellent staff. And even fully booked there was room for all. Food was good. Lots of different areas to hang out in. The water park was fun! (We r adults). Watch the food service times they are a bit off. Drinks are good and generous pours! The diving at the resort is amazing! So is the snorkling get in and head left! Wind Creek casino is walking distance and has live roulette. EXCELLENT CHOICE, recommend

Honest opinion. If I have the chance I would go back to this hotel.

Why?

Beach is beautiful. As many have said it is slightly rocky on the seafloor but not terrible, and with water shoes you are more than perfect. We came here for that and we got it. The water is cristal clear and you always have umbrellas available ( at least that was the case in feb when we went there)

The hotel is good:
pool is great ( even when we usually don't care about it).
Food is fine, don't expect high cuisine, but the buffet is decent and, in particular the Turkish restaurant, is good.
Rooms are quite big and new. good decor

Service:
Besides a handful of friendly stuff members, most of them couldn't care less... Most of them gets you what you need with the minimum interaction possible. A nod instead of \"hi\" is the norm. Doesn't kill the mood just weird for a resort.

Location is good. Is in the middle of the island and walkable distance to down town.

Where to begin?

The property was very nice, however the service was pretty poor. We had a group of 45 and the overall consensus was the same, it's like they just don't care. Not sure if it's because most don't tip? I always take 100 singles and 20 $5's with me to tip...you might think they would remember who's tipping and who's not!?

There were a handful of outstanding workers at the resort, however that was eroded by almost everyone else. Examples would be: not making eye contact or responding to a hello or good morning as you pass. Bar staff not making eye contact and waiting 20+ minutes for a drink at the pool. Countless examples of workers chatting it up with each other, on a phone etc while you just wait. Even by 'island standards', this was really bad. Wait staff in town were slow, but aware.

The food: buffet was pretty decent, BUT 1 morning they were breaking down at 10:40am when it closed at 11. The BBQ was FANTASTIC!!!!! Service was great and the food, ahhhh. Mexican restaurant, not good. Sushi, laughable! The rolls were on par with your local US grocery store, but the sashimi, inedible...water logged and somewhat unidentifiable.

The room was pretty good and comfy, they have 2 different teams with stocking the bar and cleaning. We went 2 days w/out water in the room and it took asking 4 different people to finally get someone to have it addressed.

I had to wait till 4:50 to get into my room bcz they had to check if it was spotless. There was a styrofoam bowl with a spoon in it behind the garbage pail and the bathroom had hair in the floor. Shenan was lovely and helpful; I didn’t know you needed to bring an adapter for the plugs in the room, which was a surprise. Had to rent one, lucky they had one left. Romy was also nice and Adqil.
Not really any amenities, easy walk to Willemstad. Food was okay, Mexican restaurant was passable; I asked for a Margarita and she told me they didn’t have them - seriously. Almost forgot my television didn’t work and they said the main showed up and he hadn’t so that was back and forth, three days later finally fixed but couldn’t get all channels as the satellite wasn’t connecting.

The hotel benefits from an excellent location, clean rooms, and strong overall infrastructure, with clear potential to deliver a high-quality guest experience. However, several service and operational inconsistencies were observed during the stay.

Restaurant service was often reactive rather than proactive. Tables were frequently not fully set with silverware before food was delivered, requiring guests to request basic items. Staff did not consistently follow up to ensure tables were properly prepared. Beverage service, including coffee, was frequently delayed or not delivered unless guests followed up or retrieved items themselves.

Although the selection of beer, champagne, and rosé is good, beverages were consistently served at improper temperatures throughout the resort, making them unenjoyable. This was a recurring concern among guests. In addition, some drinks were not prepared or presented to expected standards, indicating a need for clearer service protocols and additional training.

An operational issue observed was champagne bottles being stored without proper sealing, which can compromise product quality.

Overall, the property is strong, but improved service consistency, staff training, beverage handling, and supervisory oversight would significantly enhance the guest experience.

Great hotel with lots of potential and room for improvement. Food was great together with top shelf alcohol. One thing this hotel was lacking is staff members. Each bar had one bartender randomly two which extended wait times for drinks. Same thing was with restaurants. Long wait times. We spoke to couple from Canada that were at the same resort 3 years ago and service was much better.
Another service that this hotel lacked was no service at the beach.

Front desk was nice, other staff were not very friendly. 6 out of 8 restaurants you have to make a reservation ahead of time ( they were all booked ). Most of the outside seating by the buffet had MOLD all over it. Only ones that didn’t have much mold was the one that sun hits.
Other people staying in the hotel were rude and acted like starving crack heads. With no manners or common sense. Buffet was the only option so we went, but I wouldn’t trust it being sanitary. Between how other Customers were handling it and I saw one of the worker just put things back when it fell off the plate. Food was not good at all.
Would never stay there again. I’ve done volunteer work for homeless people and they don’t even act like the people who were staying there.

The resort itself was very clean and beautiful, and the pools were always well-maintained. We especially enjoyed the Italian and Mexican restaurants — both were delicious.

However, there were several frustrations during our stay. The staff often came across as rude or uninterested, even when tipping, and it felt like “pulling teeth” just to get basic items like washcloths. There was almost no entertainment except for one night, and the buffet food was very repetitive. The other restaurants required reservations made the night before, which wasn’t very convenient.

The beach was extremely small, and the view was mostly of cruise ships. On top of that, we were woken up every single night by very loud noise, except for two nights. This made the days exhausting and definitely affected our overall experience.

Beautiful resort, but the service, noise, and limited amenities kept it from higher stars. We only ended up using the resort maybe two of the days because we ventured out — that’s where all the magical beaches and attractions are. Rental cars are a must!

Our family's five-day stay at The Rif was an excellent choice. The resort is perfectly suited for a family getaway, offering a wealth of fantastic amenities. We particularly enjoyed that we had access to the facilities shared with the other side of the resort, which gave us even more options for dining and recreation.

The customer service was largely very good, with many staff members going out of their way to be helpful. While we did have a couple of encounters with less pleasant staff members, these were the exception rather than the rule. The quality and attentiveness of the rest of the team far superseded these few negative experiences.

We had a wonderful time and would happily return.

The pools were great, beach was okay. We rented a car and explored the island instead. The beaches are gorgeous, rent a car!

Staff were good. Not your typical all inclusive with chair service at the beach and pool but we were fine with that. Restaurant staff didn’t clear the table of plates or glasses until you vacated.

Bar tenders were good. Tonson was an excellent bar tender, very attentive and made good drinks.

Food was good. Buffet had an abundance of choices for all 3 meals. Get your own beverage or you’ll be waiting forever.
We ate at 3 specialty restaurants-
1. Sofra: excellent!
2. Maya: okay.
3. Italian: good.
The last night was horrible as the annual KLM marathon was being held at the RIF the next day. That next day (Nov30th) began at 3:15AM!!!! A person began announcing the runners over a PA system at 3 o'clock in the morning and it continued until 9:15am when I left to catch my flight out.
All in all we did enjoy our stay.

The hotel is nice, but the service needs to be better. I felt they are way under staff, Needs friendlier staff especially in the restaurants.In one of the restaurant, we were told that a few things in the menu were missing, also they didnt clean the room a day and assured me it will be done the next day by 10am and I still had to be behind them after 2 pm. So wouldnt recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

I was diagnosed with Celiac after booking. Since there were no refunds, I attempted to contact the resort beforehand to ask if they could accommodate my dietary restrictions with no luck. I basically ate the same meal each day.

A few staff members stood out, otherwise most of the staff seemed miserable. Service at the bars was slow. No drink service at the pool or beach.

Beautiful property, but understaffed, guests smoking wherever they wanted, pool was too deep to stand in. Room was fine, but almost impossible to get washcloths.

Cigarette butts littered the beach, dirty glasses all over the property, dishes piled high in bar sinks, kids’ toys and a dirty diaper left at the pool.

A staff member was observed “washing” silverware in two pitchers of water. One was filled with filthy water and dirty silverware that was dipped it into another pitcher of water. Each item was wiped with a towel and placed it into a “clean” silverware holder to be used for the restaurants!

Food was just okay, but the service at the restaurants was overall horrible. Meals were sitting at the counter for over 20 minutes. Reservations were very difficult to get only to wait in line to be seated. Four restaurants under the same roof. Odd setup.

Very little entertainment and music—nothing at the pool! The music we did hear sounded like elevator music, not an island resort. Entertainment was canceled with no explanation.
Hilton should be embarrassed!

Resort was clean, the rooms were clean. The pools were spectacular. The food in most of the restaurants was good, the service is pretty subpar. When waiting for drinks bartenders would walk right past you and it would sometimes take 20 plus mins for drinks. The harbour restaurant they forgot half of our fiod and nver came back to check on us. The buffet was good for a buffet. Pretty much had the same thing every day. The beach at the resort was ok had seaweed and wasnt very clear. The pool at the riff was pretty boring. No music playing. The while resort was a little boring at night, very little night life or music during the day or night. Most of the staff seemed miserable. I dont think i would stay there again, curacao itself i will be back though

The staff were courteous but at the restaurant service was slow. I put that down to being understaffed. The food in all the eateries was very good except for the Japanese restaurant where it was so so.
We had a room with a private pool which we very much enjoyed. The room was clean. Sometimes we had to ask for more hand towels but that was rare.
The drinks were great. We did find that getting our wine at the bar before heading to the restaurant was a good idea.

The hotel room and grounds were well kept. The staff were excellent and attentive. We loved all the inclusive amenities. They food was delicious with plenty of options. I would recommend more wait staff for Sofra Turkish and Maya Mexican restaurants as it took a long time for the food and it was cold when it got to us. Having the beach right on the faculty was a plus. Clear water and beautiful views. The beach was clean and welcoming with plenty of beach lounges. The bar staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, an exceptional experience and will recommend to others.

This is a beautiful property but absolutely no customer service. You can’t get into the specialty restaurants, we couldn’t get our room cleaned and soap and towels replenished even after asking twice. There is no one to bring drinks to the pool area so you have to get into a line that at times was 15 people long. Some of the bars and coffee shops aren’t open when they’re supposed to be. Very poorly managed property!!!

The resort itself is very pretty and clean, but my stay at The Rif Mangrove was disappointing from start to finish. The reviews seemed so promising, yet my experience was the complete opposite. My room wasn’t filthy but it wasn’t properly cleaned either. There were hair strands in the shower and an old envelope Ifrom the previous guest. Housekeeping skipped turndown service on my second day, even after I asked them to return later.

Service was the biggest problem. Upon arrival, one helped me with my luggage and when I had asked about certain areas on the resort no one could explain where anything was. Staff at the buffet were not welcoming and never checked in to see if I needed anything. I was acknowledged by staff for the first time on my last day, and I think it’s only because a media team happened to be there. Ordering drinks at the bar was frustrating because I was met with attitude. The dinner reservation system was a mess. On day 2, the staff member for reservations was out sick, and we weren’t informed until after booking time had already started. The website barely worked. It shouldn’t have been hard to accommodate one person, but I got a reservation after the bartenders Kevin & Tahir noticed my frustration.

The buffet food was mostly cold, room service was limited with a $15 charge, the WiFi constantly cut out, and renting a car on-site was impossible. I know others may have had better experiences, but this stay ruined the vibe of my trip. I would not return.

My room was a swim up the pool is not temperature regulated so i was unable to use the pool during my stay as the water was always cold. The waiter at the Harbor restaurant went on break and did not bring my food before he left, i had to hunt another server down for my food and it was given to me cold. My room did not get cleaned until 5:30pm i had to hunt a housekeeper down to get clean towels and wash rags. Reservations were made for the Mexican restaurant and we had to wait online for 20 mins before being seated. The only good service was at the pool side bar.

The coffee/soda self serve area was very not cleaned and smelt like sour milk. the restaurant's were not really restaurant's they were outdoor huts. No airconditioned eating areas. Service in the dinning area was terrible, gests were ignored. not a very good vacation

Customer service was absolutely appalling. Staff refusing to take additional food orders after our order was taken. Only one bar staff working at a time, while the others talked in a corner, creating very long lines. Refusing to serve the wedding party until the regular guests of the hotel were served. Making individuals who had to change rooms (due to rooms not locking, ac not working, mosquitoes filling the room, etc) to check out by 12pm and sit around until 5/545pm to get a new room (of the 50 of us who stayed, 1/3 had to change rooms). Rooms were infrequently cleaned, although signage indicated the need for the room to be cleaned. I definitely would not recommend getting married here, as they do not close off the little area to guests. The sunloungers were still placed right up until the guests seats and wedding aisle and the bar (which was not the main bar and furtherst/smallest from the resort) was open to all guests. One of the guests fainted, due to the heat, and the responses were 'wait', 'not my job' 'not my problem' 'why are you rushing me to get water' 'this is your problem'. The dinner reservations app did not work, and were never available at the desk, due to full capacity (though we walked past some restaurants and there were no diners) or restaurant closures. The buffet food was repetitive and never labeled correctly. Even some of the hotel staff were confused as to what the food was. As an individual with a seafood allergy, this is extremely alarming.

I e arrived at the resort after 4pm which check inn wa supposed to be at 4 we were told at the desk that our room was not ready yet and asked us to just go get some food , we went to a restaurant that we had to wait for over an hour for a burger while watching a waitress sneezing on her hand snapping and playing with it and the bringonfpeople plates and still brought us a wrong order the we would watch three waiters just standing doing nothing while food was ready to be brought to the customers but they would just stand there and talk to each other and would end up bringing people cold food then we went back to our room upset and hungry at around 6:30pm where the desk lady told us that our room was given to someone else that’s just unacceptable and they didn’t even try to make up for it in any kind of way finally we got a room after 7:30pm people at the desk not Expedia. Customer service would want to help us Expedia claiming there is nothing they can do through our stay the service was horrible people walking right by our swim out door like nothing ever happened I mean the workers multiple times there was zero privacy rooms have no humidifiers so everything in the rooms was constantly wet even the walls and all our clothes , housekeeping was good sometimes but there were days where they would not even empty a garbage cans or leave any extra towels or would just leave them on staples seat that’s disgusting over all horrible service and food also was horrible, no entertainment
