This is the best-positioned hotel in town, with great views and beautiful gardens. I prefer it to other hotels because I like the old world feel and old world hospitality. Hotels like Amomoxtl have fancier pool areas, but I think the Posada property is much prettier with better views and is more intimate. The owner of Posada has lived at the hotel for decades, and staying here feels like you're lucky to stay at someone's beautiful home.

This is by far the best hotel we have been in. Rooms were big and full of light. Breakfast was delicious with options to personalize the included menu. We only spent one day here, but I wish it were longer. To me, the photos don't do the hotel justice. It was beautiful with different areas to relax and take in the mountainous landscape. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. We very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They were also accommodating for my kids. The hotel was also a quick walk to downtown.

Plenty of outdoor seating options to lounge and relax and enjoy the view. This is probably the best view of the surrounding mountains of any institution in the city as we know of. They are also actively building more of their outdoor areas and terraces so this hotel’s compound will only look better in the months and years to come. Location is walking distance to the main streets with plenty of excellent dining options.

The only critique is that the shower in our room did not consistently have hot water, although it did have at least warm water usually.

I am so happy that we chose this location out of all that we looked at. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! So unique! Every corner you turn there is something more beautiful. The upkeep on the property is amazing. The staff is amazing. The rooms are amazing. The restaurant is fantastic. I came here from Ohio to go to a wedding and I truly wish that I had a reason to come back because I have 2 other rooms that I would love to try out! I was truly happy with everything about my visit.

Posada del Tepozteco was truly a beautiful property. The grounds were well taken care of and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Oscar and Marco took great care of us at breakfast. Housekeeping and room service was also very attentive and wonderful.

This was an amazing find at a great price.it has a Beautiful garden area, lots of quiet areas to sit and enjoy the views, great staff, breakfast was included and the choices were excellent. Great service, location, and we felt very safe. Our room was clean, but a bit on the dark side, hot water was intermittent, the road up to hotel was quite steep so be aware , it was great as part our daily exercise !! Loved this hotel would go back in a heartbeat!!

We loved our stay in this hotel, we were warmly welcomed, the room was spacious and had the best view we could have ever imagined. The food was SO delicious! We especially loved the cats that came by to sleep near us while we ate. It was a magical experience and my son who is 6 enjoyed it so much. We purchased the Temezcal and Abril led the whole ceremony for our little family. We will never forget this experience. We loved our stay so much that we plan on making this a yearly vacation with this hotel. The hotel is conveniently close to all the shops and restaurants. Stayed for my last night in Mexico after 6 weeks of travelling. Wish I had stayed here longer. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. So peaceful, but just a very short walk to the town (on a small hill for anyone with mobility issues). The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had dinner in the beautiful garden. The food was fabulous and not expensive. The service was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was amazing, so much choice! The reception staff also organised a taxi pick up from Cuernavaca and my taxi to the bus station on departure.

We had a very good time there even though they should consider a remodelación, because we had some details of leaks in two of our rooms.

The view was just wonderful. The hotel is perched on the side of a hill overlooking both the mountains and the town. Walking to town requires a steep street. Not good if you are not sure footed. We walked down and took a cab down. It is well worth the cost to get a room with a patio and view. Beware the hotel is booked on weekends and there can be much noise at the pool. Plan you trip Sunday-Friday and avoid Saturday. 5 Stars all the way.

The view is amazing. The room was spacious. Chilly nights, a comforter would of been nice. The cleaning staff was nice and courteous. The front desk staff upon arrival were okay, not very hospitable or warming. I booked my stay for 4 nights/5 days but none of the staff was aware of how long my stay would be. They asked if I was going to settle the bill with them the next day - as I was getting ready to head out to town. I made they aware I was staying until Sunday morning (hence it was Thursday morning). Four gals in the reception and NOT ONE was aware. I booked this King Bed Suite for my niece (she lacked a CC). I stayed with my fiancee in the Superior Suite. My fiancee has paid for two breakfast for each day we were going to stay there. Some were unused as we would have breakfast in town. It seemed to bother some of the staff in the restaurant - especially one young lady with glasses- that we used one for my niece. We paid for the breakfasts, so its not like they were giving a free breakfast away. Apparently if you want to eat under the canopy, you must reserve (BUT WERE WE EVER TOLD THIS UPON ARRIVAL - NO!) The restaurant staff was not very attentive or cordial. I have stayed in Tepoztlan plenty of times and have paid less for hotel stays in other places who are much more hospitable. I don't think I will be staying here again. The view is great but I can say it was not worth the money we paid.

Valet parking people, are not responsible ( crash one corner of my car, and they didn’t accept that) the shower on my room didn’t work, request fix, no one came to fix during my stay, holes in the wood floor of my room, feel afraid of animal or insects came out from that holes, restaurant no servers, you have to get your own silverware etc...Very espensive place and you don’t get what you spent.. not recomendable.

Circumstances dictated that I had a very late check in at the hotel, close to 10:00 pm. When the front desk said that only a few dinner selections, such as quesadillas, were available i was dismayed, but no more options were available. So quesadillas we ordered. And they turned out to be excellent! Along with a very generous serving of delicious guacamole, we enjoyed the best quesadillas ever! Flor de calabaza, huitlacoche mushrooms and cheese. The waiter was super attentive and nice.
The room was super clean and comfortable and had the best views of the Tepozteco mountain and town. Gardens are very interesting and in pristine condition. The room had the best bathroom I've ever had since it was well lit with natural light but not overwhelming. Personnel was very helpful and friendly, just like everyone else in town. Silvestre, the cat-host is a great addition!

Reallly nice hotel, I would say the best in Tepoztlan. Hotel is very clean, the views are awesome (Town, mountains, and Tepozteco). The staff was really nice and helpful. In regards to the room, don't expect a 5 star modern type room, it is somewhat rustic, but they are really well maintained, super clean and really spacious. Food at the restaurant is great, though I also recommend walking to the small open market (about 2-3 block) and enjoy the local food. Also, make sure to try out the Tepoznieves!
In regards to Tepoztlan, it is a really small town, its great place to get out of the big city and go and relax. The big highlights are walking up (approx. 2km) to the Temple of Tepoztecalt (make sure to wear comfortable shoes) and a visit to the Ex Convento Dominico de la Natividad.

The view over the town is great and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. However the key cards demagnetized after 2 uses and we were continuously having to go to the front desk for another key. We kept them in a separate area from credit cards and cell phone but it didn't seem to make any difference. The restaurant has very good food but we were disappointed with the service. Brought 1 meal out with the salad and I had to walk into the kitchen to get someone to come and take our dessert order after 10 minutes of seeing no one.

I usually do not rate hotels as high I have rated this one BUT I had to since they were a real gem! The ONLY real issue I had with the hotel was the fact that the bed was hard as a rock and they have no air conditioning. That being said its Mexico so AC is not really something they do anyway! It wasn't too bad once the sun went down. I would suggest going to this town only during winter and spring months to avoid the heat!

My girlfriend and I debated the shear expense of the place and looked for others (full on Valentines Day, but check out Casa Fernanda). This ended up being a such a wonderful experience the price is a bit beside the point. We ended up with a private detached suite with a semi-private terrace that joined a promenade overlooking the city and mountains beyond.
Morning and evening we swam in a pool that as other reviews mentioned is kept at about 75F / 25C which is perfect for the morning and sunsets and bobbing around with that special someone. On the topic of water our room also had a jacuzzi tub which made a fun after-dinner activity.
I believe there are two schemes for pricing, as despite the \"European Plan\" designation the rate booked through this site did not include breakfast (although staff inquired about vouchers). Coffee on the terrace was a delight, but breakfast for 180 pesos didn't stack up, consisting of a yawn inducing hot bar, juices and a tortillero. The below average morning meal lends credibility to other reviewer's comments about the poor quality of the dining experience. We later cancelled our reservations for dinner here opting instead for Axitla, which is literally the best meal I've ever eaten in Mexico.
I will credit the hotel with an unforgettable Pina Colada served poolside and the bar's willingness to serve up ice for some special drinks we brought with us.
