HISTORIC BUILDING - MODERN ARCHITECTUREHotel Elisabeth is a former Hospital dating from the Inter-war Period. It has been respectively transformed in keeping with the existing architecture to a modern and cosy four-star Hotel.

The cleaning staff was exceptional. Our room was tidy every day. The desk staff was available to answer questions. We didn’t have breakfast but it looked and smelled delectable. The location, while away from the train stations is located near the Grote Markt and the heart of the central city.

Good check-in with upgrade to double (instead of two singles). Comfortable 3rd floor room. Tea/coffee making available. A short walk to Grot market & plenty of attractions & restaurants nearby. We didn’t choose their breakfast. We used the pool once, it is down two flights of stairs, the changing area is small, whilst it looked stylish, lacked any rails to enter pool.

Exceptional quality close to the town center

Hotel Elizabeth is a modern hotel that is extremely well maintained. The wonderful staff members were very friendly and helpful. The location in a quiet street close to the town center and cathedral make it an ideal place to stay.

I have a good time at hotel Elisabeth staffs are very welcoming. Only one thing I dislike about it is I found a bug in my washroom and when I arrived the room wasn’t very clean and fresh. This area is a very small town. It’s kinda hard to get a transport and you need to have the hotel to get help order taxi ( price is high)

The hotel and the area around it were just beautiful! Also the staff was really nice! They didn’t have a straightening iron in our room, so the kind lady at the front desk offered to bring her own from home. That’s what I call customer service! Everyone was so nice, not only the staff at the hotel but also the people from that area in general. Haven’t met a single unfriendly person there.

Stylish comfortable hotel

Beautiful and stylish hotel, in a great location right near everything. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a triple room which had 2 twins in one room and another twin in a separate room, which would be great for families. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good location but bed bugs!

The first room we stayed in was large, with a large bathroom and a good view of the cathedral. However, we requested to change room because we found bed bugs on the mattress pad, which looked like it had never been cleaned or vacuumed. The walls of the room and the desk were dusty as well. There is also a step from the hallway into the room, which catches you by surprise when you leave the room. The second room we moved to was smaller on the same floor, but without the extra step going into the room. Both rooms were very spartan. Overall, the location of the hotel is very convenient. If we are to return, we'll stay somewhere else.

My stay was good overall. Room is spacious and clean, bedding, towels, complementary tea and coffie - all in place. Wifi speed was bearable. Check-in was easy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem - two constructions in process right outside of the hotel, very very loud noise from 7am in the morning. The hotel of course could not do anything about it. The sound isolation on windows could not really attenuate it. This made my stay a bit miserable.

Great location in central Mechelen with excellent views from bedroom window.
We arrived very late after a delayed flight and it took us over 15 minutes to get inside. Also one morning the shower was cold. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

Noise from refurbishment in rooms above went on till late evening which would have been a problem for anyone needing an early night. Shame as we've stayed here before and the hotel is in a relatively quiet area. Air con not the most effective.

I had room 416 and this is very large with separate \"day room\" with elecric cooking rings, microwave oven, Fridge, all cooking equipment, 4 seat dining table and \"L\" shape couch/convertable bed. The bedroom has king size bed a single chair and a large flat screen TV, The separate bathroom is very large and has dark grey granite walls and floor with bath, 2 sinks and a loo. The hall has closit and audio system with two very large picture windows looking out the side of the hotel. The room is more like an appartment. There is A/C in both the bedroom and the day room. The only down side is that with walls and floor being grey granite the bathroom is cold and dark. Also the bedroom floor is wood and has no rugs. You could not sit and watch TV from a chair unless you are on your own. As it was November the room/appartment was a bit cold. It is new, stylish but not friendly as a hotel.
The hotels serves breakfast at an extra cost but not dinner. However there are plenty of good places to eat a couple of hunded metres away. Try the Lord Nelson for the feel of an English Pub but with quality Belgian dark beer and food.

Nice hotel in center of Mechelen

This was a gem of a hotel hidden on a quiet, secluded street in the center of Mechelen. Typical European styling with contmporary furnishings and a nicely updated modern bathroom. Staff are multi-lingual. Front desk is staffed 24/7.

Located in a quieter area just north of heart of city. No on-site restuarant so need to go out for evening meals. Large oddly shaped bathroom in room but shape let no room for a bath. Staff friondly and helpful but found the experience a little soulless

Hervorragend Service, zuvorkommendes Personal. Sauberkeit soweit gut, könnte besser sein. Diese Zimmer haben alles was benötigt wird. Style der Zimmern eundach super. Aufhängung der Tücher im Badezimmer sind zuwenig vorhanden. Ganz im allem würden wir dieses Hotel wieder nehmen. Danke für alles!

Manque de confort pour le prix

Bon séjour mais manque de confort pour le prix, grande cuisine avec placards vides, peu de vaisselle, pas de micro ondes, pas de poêle. Salle de bain sans rangements. Il faisait froid la nuit et on ne peut pas régler le chauffage. Vestiaires de piscine avec fenêtres ouvertes donc froid.

Great people, breakfast, things to improve

Problems with the AC first night, it shut down every 10 min, and eventually in the middle of the night. We had a technician coming and checking like until 1am, the night was very cold and me and my 4-year old daugher got a cold as a result on that on our way home. The hotel did offer a better room and free late checkout as compensation but it felt short since we paid money to sleep on a normal 21 degree temperature not 14 degrees like if we were on a tent. Also the area adjacent to the swimming pool (were the lockers are) was freezing cold, like people need to change and dry there and felt like being outside at 5 degrees.

Eigenwijs en vriendelijk

Opmerkelijke fotografie en komisch bedoelde tekstborden zijn het eerste dat opvalt in Hotel Elisabeth. De kamer voldeed aan mijn twee prio’s: rustig en goed bed. Ik moest wel het raam wagenwijd openzetten om een penetrante lucht weg te krijgen. De badkamer is te minimalistisch: daar mag (en kan gezien de grootte) meer conform in. Personeel heel vriendelijk tijdens mijn bezoek. Prijs - kwaliteit verhouding en lokatie is goed. Dus al met al een ruime voldoende.
