I booked this hotel given its nice reputation, but was completely dissatisfied. They note that they have a free hotel shuttle, which is one of the main reasons why I booked it. However, they require a 12 hour notice. I only found this out when I got to the hotel, having paid a lot to get there! I find it positively unlikely that most people on business are able to book a shuttle 12 hours in advance. Furthermore, nowhere on my booking was this noted. I am extremely dissatisfied with this, on both the side of Expedia, as well as the Van der Valk. I would NOT recommend this hotel to the business traveler or anyone who expects quality customer service.

Check in was very easy, a little bit confusing if you stay in the wing.We stayed in the Clubroom.There are no washcloths that for your reference.Also the bed was not that comfortable.There is only one sheet on top of the mattress that kept coming off and exposing the mattress and a comforter with a cover.I am used to sleeping on top of a fully covered mattress with a separate sheet to cover myself in case it’s too hot.I ended up sleeping mostly with no cover because the comforter was hot at times.

The only downsides were the temp control in my room as it defaulted to 22.8 deg C with no ability to reduce (in the end I switched the so called Eco aircon off alsothe breakfast at 27,50 Euro was steep!

Terrible cleanliness. Mountains of dust in the room. Paid for mini bar not stocked. 6 calls over 5 hours and several promises later and still nothing. Had to go to front desk and even then they couldn't get it right. Bath all scratched with red marks, marks on mirrors. Breakfast good one day but lots of things missing the next day. Overall run down with horrendous customer service. Asked for a follow up from the hotels GM bit nothing yet. By far, the worst of 20 + Van der Valk hotels I've stayed at

On arrival the hotel was overbooked and turning away guests with paid reservations. They changed my room to a \"superbox\" without bothering to tell me, it was a box but not super, toilet and bed in the same space, dark and dingy, OK if you're only going to walk in, sleep, and walk out. No food available at all after 23:00.
The breakfast buffet is pretty varied and decent, the superior room was pretty decent, the restaurant was OK but with a pretty limited menu.

Checking in late night was a nightmare because there was only one person at reception and there was a huge line. It took us almost 2 hours to get to our room (which is especially frustrating after arriving at 1:30am from the airport). This is not unique to our experience as another group of people started lining up behind us when we got to the front (presumably from the next flight). Absolutely awful experience.

Hotel is a big disappointment for me. It doesn't deserve to be member Van der Valk hotel chain. Check in was so bad. Employees on reception are 60+ years old and not proper for tasks they should fulfill. Mattress in the room was so firm and uncomfortable. Breakfast was terrible and on the level of the motel. Almost nothing to eat and only one person who is struggling with dirty dishes a food supply. Overall big zero for this hotel

Property was clean and properly maintained. When I checked-in I was told my room was in the bldg next door. That room turned out to be a tiny room, which I did not like. When I complained at the front desk, I was told the standard rooms were at the tower where the front desk was, but those rooms were going to be assigned to incoming guests. This lovely hotel exceeded our expectations in every way! I chose this hotel mainly because it was close to the Brussels airport for our flight out the next morning, but it was so much more! The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was large too. The breakfast the next morning was incredible and best we experienced during our entire vacation!
