We were very disappointed in this stay.

We booked the junior suite to have a bit nicer and larger of a room, but in the end there was a portion of the suite for a kitchenette that is no longer functional - not exactly the space we were thinking of! The general upkeep of the unit and the bathroom needs some attention desperately.

On Sunday the restaurant was closed, which we didn't realise, so we ordered food elsewhere and brought it up to the suite with the intention of heating it up in the kitchen. We quickly realised that nothing works. There's a microwave and stovetop but they haven't been functioning for years based on what the person at the front desk said.

That would have been nice to know when we checked in, as we may have made different decisions for dinner.

Overall we were very disappointed and wish we had booked elsewhere, as that suite cost more than other options. I am a bit unsure why this hotel is rated so highly - maybe we would have been better to book a much cheaper room....?

But disappointed with my stay

Got woken up a lot from hotel noises and even a drinks lorry delivery to the hotel at 6am with a lot of banging. Bed wasn’t particularly comfy either which is a shame. I didn’t enjoy being at the front of the hotel with so much noise and the toilet also had plumbing that gurgled and woke me. Would potentially stay again as it’s so convenient to seeing friends but feel a bit disappointed with my stay!

This used to be a lovely hotel BUT - (1) has been a building site for the last 12 months, with dust and mess throughout the hotel, and no sign of progress or any information for guests; (2) the breakfast service was terrible, with no tables cleared of dirty plates and no staff in sight.

Pretty hotel room but there were a couple of things I didn’t like. The smudges on the desk and the fact that the smudges came off when I started cleaning… I don’t feel the room was cleaned as well as it should have been. Generally, I sanitize any room I stay in. Though, I am usually sanitizing a spotless room.

This hotel might also have plumbing issues. The smell of the bathroom filled the room, it was pretty unpleasant. The property just needs some upgrades.

I have to say, the staff is wonderful. We only spent one night but they were extremely hospitable. Also, I had the best little croissants and cappuccino at breakfast time!

The front desk staff was great (am staff moreso) and the penthouse was lovely. Heated floors, towel warmers, balcony and a kitchen. The front desk made us spa reservations and grabbed me champagne. Awesome little spot in Brussels and just a quick subway ride to all of the attractions.

Room was great. Really clean and big and made working very easy and comfortable. However, the shower did not fit into the holder properly and even after the staff had 'fixed' the problem as soon as you took a shower the entire bathroom was flooded.

Thought it was unacceptable for a hotel not to have its restaurant open, and additionally no staff to serve drinks to those doing some work in the lounge area.

Refreshed decor

The hotel has undergone a much needed refurbishment. The wall coverings and soft furnishings have been replaced for lighter colours and everywhere is much brighter as a result. The furniture and fixtures have not been changed and look a little tired especially in the bathroom. Staff pleasant as always. Breakfast just okay.

Starting to look tired.

Staff in this hotel are always fantastic. The hotel itself however is starting to look rather shabby. The light switches are also annoyingly temperamental. Beds are comfortable, breakfast is fine and I enjoy the seating area downstairs.

It's interesting that Eurostars Montgomery bills itself as a five-star hotel. It may have had that look and feel in its glory days, but the overall feel it has now is rather that of shabby chic. On the plus side, it's steps away from the metro, and a short walk away from a nice neighbourhood with shops and restaurants. Most importantly, probably the crucial thing about any hotel is the quality of the bed and linen. Both nights I stayed there I slept like a baby. The bed is super comfortable. The hotel staff are also very nice.

Not at 4 star hotel at all

The hotel is supposed to be 4 stars but the condition of the furniture in the room it’s really old.
However the reception people were very nice and help with directions to interesting places to visit
The concierge gentleman was very nice all the time and helpful
Something to worry about it was that the housekeeper left my room wide open after cleaning it, we came back and we thought she was still cleaning or that she would come back but after 20 minutes of waiting for her I tried explaining to the head of housekeepers about the problem and she said she didn’t understood English.
It was pretty bad that they don’t close the doors, if I didn’t come back in time I don’t know what could have happened.

Excellent hotel outside central Brussels

We stayed here for 3 days and it was a great experience. Away from central Brussels craziness, yet 5 minutes from it through subway.. Subway station is around the corner. Excellent facilities, cleanlines, friendly staff who can speak about any language you throw at them.
Perfect to walk around, and safe area. Breakfast is frugal, but that's typical in European hotels anyway. Good parking.

Room cold and after working out lights the room lighting was barely noticeable, very dark .
Impossible to work .
Very noisy overhead and to the sides . Felt like a person in heels was doing a sponsored walk in the wooden floors from 4am !
Bed uncomfortable and springs visible .
Water pressure good for shower.
Breakfast poor - no coffee in room so it’s necessary but not worth the effort down . Forget trying to brown your toast either .
Wifi impossibily slow and battery draining .
Hotel feels , looks and behaves dated .
Wont stay again but it was recommended???

Nice hotel, good location.

The hotel was very good. The price was quite high when I stayed, although it seemed OK for the area. Check in was quick, the room was a good size with desk, sofa / coffee table and a bed. The decorations in the room are a little tired with the dark wall paper being scraped in places, but perfectly liavable with! The room was a little dark at night with only lamps around the edges of the room. Also at least some of the power sockets turn off with the light switch so check this if charging devices over night!
Breakfast was a typical buffet style and was good. I didn't try the restaurant.
The location is good, being right next to the Montgomery Metro, giving good connectivity into Central Brussels and the railway stations (e.g. 25-30 mins from Gare du Midi via Metro 2 and 1). It's 25 minutes walk to Blue Point conference centre or 10 minutes of so on the underground tram route 7. It's also convenient for EC offices in Bealieu, about 20 minutes journey on the Metro route 5 from the nearby Merode station. There are some shops and eateries nearby in Rue des Tongres and Ave. Georges Henri, theres also a suseful convenience stor in the Metro station.

Lovely hotel that has been \"let go\".

I have stayed at the Montgomery on visits to Brussels since 2009. While the staff was helpful and pleasant (some of them there for all those years), the hotel needs to be refurbished. The wall paper was gouged and torn in every room (we had two rooms - a double and a triple). The floors are inexpensive, fake wood with no carpets and no slippers. There were two in my room and I had to request a second set of towels. They brought ice in a bowl, quickly when requested, which quickly melted. The hotel does not appear on the map they furnish which makes it difficult to place yourself when going elsewhere. The map of the city was inadequate compared to maps from other hotels in other cities. The location is still excellent. I wanted a king size bed in one (which we got) and another with two beds (there were two of us, which we did not. A \"triple\" is a king and a sofa bed. It was a sad last two nights since the lovely hotel in Paris, at a similar price, was such a positive experience. Eurostar needs to make an investment to restore the hotel to what it once was.

Not a five star hotel

This hotel should not be categorised as a five star hotel, indeed I wouldn't give it four stars.
The bedding was poor, but the pillows were especially awful. I have stayed at about 50 hotels in the past five years and these were the worst pillows I have encountered.
The rooms were overheated and the air conditioning didn't work, so had to repeatedly open and close windows.
Our first room was at the front of the hotel and was so noisy we had to buy ear plugs. The hotel moved us after one night to another room at the back of the hotel which was quieter.
The hotel decor is very tired and needs a full overhaul.
Finally, there was no kettle in the room.

The hotel does not correspond to advertising.

The room had no towels, had no shower, which was promised. The restaurant which has been promised, was closed. The employee, who was not polite, offered us another room, but there all the same. We spent in this hotel 20 minutes and went to the Radisson hotel.
Unfortunately Orbitz does not return us the money, it took over the hotel in advance.

Perfect spot to access parcs and transport and nic

I choose this hotel for its location as it gives travels a glimpse of living like a local. It is near shops, parcs and restuarants without being in a touristy neighborhood. Being on the carrefour of two major roads, transport is easy and taxis plentiful.
The room was very spacious and clean. And staff friendly.

The Eurostars is assuredly not a 5-Star hotel, which may explain why it was a \"secret purchase\" hotel on Expedia, i.e. one whose identity is not revealed until one irretrievably commits to a reservation. The hotel, in short, is tired. The lobby is small and unimpressive in décor; the restaurant even more so. The room that I stayed in had two very small beds, with wafer thin pillows. The lighting was inadequate, and there electrical outlets sparse for the modern business traveler. Having said that, the room was very clean, the staff was very nice, and the neighborhood was pleasant, though there weren't many restaurant options or interesting places to see in the immediate neighborhood.

First time at Eurostars Montgomery

Room 404 - large and comfortable front-facing room overlooking Montgomery roundabout, but decor and furnishings tired and old fashioned, and I hate cheap reproduction furniture made to look antique; would prefer good quality contemporary furnishings and much lighter decor. Bed very comfortable but under the sheets old-looking with mismatched base and mattress. Easy chair and footrest comfortable but worn. Wallpaper scratched, scuffed, fraying and marked in places, particularly in hallway near bathroom+Dark and passé colour/design. Bathroom decent and clean, lovely deep bath with big powerful taps, but cheap towel/door hooks, and, on the last evening, the water ran yellowy-brown and powdery so could not have a bath that evening, by morning it had improved somewhat, but not what is expected. Unsure whether to recommend, overall.

Booked as a mystery hotel- you only get the name once you've paid. Thus very good value for money. The decor is old fashioned but everything works - it's just not up to the claimed 4 stars. However I would be happy to go back providing I could get a good price.
Breakfast was 15 Euro but I didn't try it.

Eurostars Montgomery Hotel is a slightly old fashioned hotel next to Montgomery metro station and a short walk from my customer (which is why I chose it). My room was rather small and poorly lit - in fact the lighting was inadequate for working. There were only three hangers in the wardrobe. I phoned reception to get some more sent up - the girls said she would - but nothing happened; a while later I phoned again and this time they admitted there were no more hangers left. Also one morning about an hour before I wanted to get up I was woken by a call from reception telling me my taxi was here (I didn't order a taxi). One of my colleagues said: \"You staying at the Montgomery? A little like Fawlty Towers...\"

However everything was clean and the restaurant does excellent food. If you want a beer in the bar late at night you might have to go hunting for a member of staff - but it adds to the fun!

2 nights as a base for exploring Belgium

No complaints really, staff very friendly, they helped us with the odd keyboard on the public computer, the room really was lovely. Only downside was that there is no kettle in the room so one can make their own tea and coffee... that seems such a basic thing. Maybe we're expected to get room service, or it's just not the norm on the continent... BUT I would recommend the place, for sure!

Really big, comfortable, clean room, with a sofa and a lovely bed. The wooden furniture and granite surfaces gave a real touch of class.

The area is perfect, for access, security and locale. I parked right in front of the hotel for free, but this is only possible if you move your car before 9 the next morning.

Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices. I would expect no less from a country with such a high reputation for gastronomy. I can't wait to get back there!

Overall, the hotel is good. Good location. the only problem I have is there is no converter from US system to European system. You have like 7 converter but none of them suits my camera. It was frustrating to try all of the. We arrived at 19 hours and very hungary but the receptionnist could only point out one restaurant which we could not find. the next day we found a lot of restaurant on the way to the independence monument. Need for information for the customers.

Eurostars Montgomery is a good hotel which is usually well priced for the a hotel of that quality in Brussels. It is a little bit away from the Government district tor tourist areas, but easily accessible by Metro or healthy walk - for me this is a positive. Staff are always friendly and rooms have a certain charm that not all big chain hotels have.

The hotel is located in a very beautiful area of the city about 2 mins from a metro station & that made it easier to commute. The room was fresh, clean & the bed and pillow very comfortable (I slept very well). The staff are friendly, very helpful & knowledgeable about where to see as a tourist. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Christmas family trip

A truly beautiful hotel with excellent staff and nice breakfast buffet. Hotel is listed among top 5 star hotels of the world, interior is classical, warm and welcoming, there's reading room with library and chess. Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and in style with the rest of hotel, there's a flat screen TV, DVD player and fridge with overpriced drinks as standard but to our surprise no the tea/coffee making machine. A call to reception with request for cups and kettle followed and items arrived in no time although this is not usually provided, other than that we had an amazing time in and would surely come back again. Also the is a sauna and massage on request. The hotel is 2 mins walk to the Montgomery tube station which is 4 stops away from the Central Station, the City Center, journey time is approx. 10 mins.

Great Location Great Cleanliness

Amazing hotel with a Charming staff this stay was very enjoyable. The hotel is super clean and smells amazing aditionally is right next to the Metro station. It is on a nice neighborhood. Only the wifi was a bit slow but everything else was spectacular!!!!
