Hotel is in a good location and staff were efficient courteous. Public areas far too warm. Single rooms rather tired and in need of refurbishment. Other rooms spacious and well equipped but rooms overlooking street noisy. Also, rooms too warm and needed to open window to cool as no way to change temperature in room. Breakfast very good, but PLEASE get rid of musak. There is no need and peace and quiet much preferred. I booked 4 rooms for a party of four and I'm responding on behalf of all of us.

A nice hotel right at the edge of the market Square. A perfect location to walk the city for a few hours, stop back at the hotel and take a little nap, and then head out again. The bed was very comfortable and the place was clean. I'm much appreciated the coffee maker in the room. I have a single room and it's really perfect for one person.

Beautiful city and the hotel is located in a really good location. The staff were friendly and the rooms clean. However the rooms were a little dated and in need of some upgrades. We stopped over for a night and its a good hotel to spend a night and explore the lovely city.

Staff friendly and an excellent location. I booked a single room which was spacious. Bed was comfy and the room was clean. I had two issues, one the main light didnt work in the room. It was ok for me as I used the room as purely somewhere to sleep but it was hard too see with just the light from the bathroom. Also my room backed on to the lift shaft which was loud, you heard the lift everytime it was used or the doors banged. Wasnt great to hear at 6am! Overall I would probably stay here again

Nice and spacious room in central location close to the historic part of town.
Coffee machine in the room didn't work, friendly staff tried fixing it without success but gave me a coffee from the restaurant.
I was informed parking is charged per day however I was charged for 2 nights (and 2 days) while I arrived in the evening and left early morning.

Weary, but decent value

I was in a standard room, which means a room which hasn't been redecorated since the mid-90s! All things considered, the decor was well-maintained, although there were quite a few stains on the carpet, and the bedside light was broken throughout my stay. However, Although weary, it was clean and comfortable, and the bed, bedlinen and curtains were a lot newer than the wallpaper, and it was a fair price for what was offered.
As an Englishwoman, I was very excited to find that the room contained not only a kettle, but a genuine Corby Trouser Press.
I shed a tear of patriotic pride, but left my jeans unpressed.

Great location. This hotel is run down and 'maintenance challenged'. We had a slow draining sink and the shower wand kept on coming off in our hand. We had carpet in our room (not hardwood like in the pic here) that was old and could have used a GOOD cleaning. Hallway (on 5th floor) definitely smelled like stale smoke as another reviewer mentioned. Be prepared for the parking to be full (which is not something you really want to deal with when rolling in at midnight.) We ended up parking at the Indigo down the street.

Check-in and check-out went perfectly.
Our bikes wete safely stored in the underground parking.
Breakfast was good, the lady managing this was very efficient.
The room was good, clean and tidy, nice view overlooking the streets below.
Our only complaint was our neighbour with OCD in the adjacent room who was opening and closing the doors and switching the lights on and off for hours, but this was not a problem of the hotel.

NH Hotel in Mechelen

This is a great location. Many places to shop, eat, and treat. Not to mention the friendliness from staff here, as well as fellow vacationers. The rooms are decently sized and supplied with a mini fridge stocked with a variety of drinks (soda, juice, water, beer, and wine), an espresso machine (instructions on tray), and an electric kettle for tea (also on tray). Across from the large closet is a programmable safe and a supply of various snacks such as candy, chips, and wine. Prices are all listed on an itemized treat-sheet. There's a coat rack conveniently mounted near the door. I also like that the floor is not carpeted, it just seems cleaner than carpet. I would definitely stay here again should I return for another visit to Mechelen, without hesitation.

Op het eerste zicht leek het ons een fijn hotel. Maar schijn bedriegt. Aftands meubilair, loshangend behangpaper, vlekken op het tapijt en onze kamer was nogal aan de krappe kant. Nou ja, daar we toch hele dagen op stap waren met de wagen kunnen we daar nog enigszins mee leven. Op het internet staat te lezen dat het hotel over een eigen betalende parking beschikt. Maar 12.50 euro per dag vind ik van het goede te veel. En als uw wagen hoger is dan 1 meter 60 mag je het vergeten. Je kan niet binnen. We hadden dus geen andere keus dan een betaalparking te nemen. En wat blijkt? Dat is veel goedkoper! Tenminste als je veel weg bent met de wagen.
Positief dan is het vriendelijke personeel (afgezien één man Adri aan de balie die eerder onbeschoft was). Ook snelle en gratis wifi wat in deze moderne tijd toch een must is. Onze complimenten voor de buffetdame die er helemaal alleen voor stond. Bijbenen was voor haar onmogelijk en dit door een aantal gasten die het zo nodig vonden – ik noem dit pure diefstal – om na het uitgebreide ontbijt nog van alles mee te nemen voor hun fietstochtje. Thermosflessen vullen, broodjes, fruit, etc. Geen wonder dat de ontbijtdame handen te kort kwam om alles bij te vullen. We hebben dit gemeld aan de balie dat we zoiets ontoelaatbaar vinden.

Location excellent - on the main street near the town centre. There is a supermarket nearby, & a cake shop! Reception staff really helpful & friendly, & fixed a minor problem with the room promptly. Breakfasts are on the first floor - a good choice is offered, and replenished as needed. On a Sunday breakfast is available till 12. The room did show signs of wear & tear, with some scuff marks on furniture & walls - a refurbishment would be helpful. (The other NH hotel I've stayed in was bigger & more business orientated) I'd certainly consider staying there again.

Cool, modern hotel in the historic heart of beautiful Mechelen. Room big, bed should win an award and the décor is pleasantly understated - perfect. Only small reservation is that the maximum vehicle height for the hotel car park is just 1.65 m, but there is a 2.0 m car park 100 m along the same street for fellow 4WD drivers.

Friendly and helpful front desk staff, gave us helpful directions for overnight parking. Great location, nice area, close to restaurants and Grote Markt. The room was very comfortable, but the carpet was stained and worn and the decor needs updating. The room comfort overall was good. The breakfast was ample. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice enough hotel. Limited temperature control in the room and I had 1 light out and another that was flashing. The bed was a bit on the hard side, but I slept well regardless. The black-out curtains were nice. Wifi was sufficient, but a pet peeve of mine is the hotel wanting to charge for a faster connection.

Second time we have stayed at this hotel. It is so central being close to the main square. Mechelen is so pretty at Christmas time. The hotel staff are very friendly and efficient. Excellent breakfast served in a very pleasant room. Great to be able to park the car at the hotel and enjoy walking around the town without any hassle.

nice hotel, if a little dated with the slowest lift in Mechelen. Don't that put you off. Rooms are comfortable and breakfast is almost worth paying for! Nice friendly staff and brilliant location. Car park is a tight fit to say the least. Stayed many times and would recommend it for business or romantic break.

very helpful and very friendly staff
very central location just a short walk to the central square which in my opinion is prettier than brussels on a par with bruges
there are not as many resturants and bear in mind many close wednesdays
our room was a bit noisy next to the lift and slightly jaded . the towels could do with upgrading!! there is on street parking as long as you have moved it by 9am in the morning and after 7pm at night there is limited hotel parking but quite expensive

We were very impressed by the facilities provided in our room. The bathroom contained a hairdryer and magnifying mirror. Main room was a comfortable temperature and contained two chairs, tea and coffee facilities and a fair amount of shelf/desk space. All staff that we met were friendly and helpful.

perfect location for a city break

The hotel is situated a very short (and pretty) walk from the main city square. The room (a superior double) was spacious and modern and very comfortable. The bathroom, although not as up-to-date as the rest of the room, was clean and adequate. Powerful shower and plenty of hot water.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful (and even reserved a car park space via email before leaving the UK)

Did not use the breakfast facilities so cannot comment on this, or the bar.

The hotel has an added bonus of a small underground carpark (very reasonable rates)

Will be returning to Mechelen and hopefully to this hotel.
Overall a great experience - from initial (very smooth transaction and great price) through to arrival and departure.

Personeel was vriendelijk. Het ontbijt was uitstekend. De kamer, op de 5e verdieping aan de straatkant, was verouderd en gehorig. Afzuiging badkamer en koelkast maakte veel geluid. De lift was ook zeer hoorbaar. Kamers zijn aan renovatie toe.

Prima ontbijt, hotel is wat gedateerd, locatie is uitstekend. Bijzet bed voor onze dochter was versleten en ingezakt, te laag en niet meer geschikt voor gebruik. Dekbed op 2 persoonsbed was veel te zwaar en niet comfortabel.

Dringend renovatie nodig

We verbleven op het 5de verdiep. Zo te zien aan de foto's op de website het oudste gedeelte. Kamers zagen er zeker zo niet uit. Zeer dringend aan renovatie toe. Ook heel veel geluid vanop de gang hoorbaar. Motor van de lift duidelijk hoorbaar tot in de kamer, ook het centraal verluchtingssysteem van de badkamer zeer luidruchtig, vervelend tijdens de nacht. Als de buren hun schakelaar aan het bed gebruikten hoorde we die even goed alsof het onze schakelaar was....Ontbijt was in orde, gemeenschappelijke ruimte gelijkvloers en 1ste verdiep waren gelukkig recenter dan ons 5de verdiep. Kortom, niet zo'n aangename ervaring met NH te Mechelen. Zeker voor deze prijs hadden we toch meer verwacht.

J'ai eu une chambre ou la climatisation ne marchait pas, donc trop tard pour le changer le meme nuit d'arrivée, je suis allez les voir la journee après : il savait bien que la climatisation ne marchait pas car cetait marqué dans leur système donc il me propose de changer la chambre, j'ai trouvé ça inconvénient, car je me suis deja installé et puis ils etaient au courant du probleme et quandmeme m'ont loué la chalbre quand ils avaient des autres, pas terrible.

Snikhete kamers in Oktober (airco opzetten heeft geen nut)
Men vroeg of we ontbijt namen, dit zou 18 eur suppl kosten.
Vonden we een ok prijs.
Bleek dat dit 18 eur p/p was, voor een armzalig ontbijt.
Je kan beter waar voor je geld kiezen en ergens gezellog gaan ontbijten in het Mechelse.

Une nuit à NH Mechelen en juillet.

J'y ai séjourné une seule nuit, principalement pour une nuit de sommeil. La chambre était très correcte. Il y avait beaucoup de choix pour le petit-déjeuner. Je n'ai pas eu besoin d'utiliser leur parking car il y avait une place libre en face de l'hôtel (gratuite le soir et la nuit).Si je devais de nouveau passer une nuit à Malines dans le futur, il est très probable que je choisirai à nouveau cet hêtel.

かなり年季の入ったホテル。全体的にすべてが古い仕様。ネスプレッソのコーヒーメーカーとテレビが比較的に最近の物で、それ以外は20年前から変わっていない印象。
