The rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff were absolutely superb when I rang re a late check in,also the restaurant that was recommended by the young man on reception was bang on. Breakfast was plentiful, all in all a very good hotel

We stayed here as a stop over before travelling back to the UK. The location is great if you’re wanting to explore! It’s very clean, very comfortable bed and great use of space in the rooms. The staff appeared to have limited English or limited knowledge of things at times but all friendly enough. Limited signage in English. The breakfast was poor, it’s ok for a free breakfast but I’m very glad I paid nothing for it.

Great stay marred by a service problem on our last

Very pleased with the hotel, room, breakfast, value and staff. We did have an issue on the last evening of our stay. We decided to have a couple of drinks at the hotel bar, (c 10.30pm). The one member of staff was dealing with a couple checking in. We waited for ten minutes, but another couple turned up to check in (long after we had started our wait at the bar), followed a few minutes later by more people arriving to check in. We were ignored at the bar, along with another gentleman and young lady. After a 20+minute wait, we (two couples) went to our room and retired for the night. I understand it is important to check people in, but each check in was taking more than ten minutes, and serving someone at the bar would take a much shorter period of time. I feel that if the hotel decides to use one member of staff only, then time management training is needed. We appreciate that the staff member should complete the check in procedure before serving us, but we should have been served before the next people who arrived for check in after our arrival at the bar. The hotel lost revenue, and disappointed four guests, and probably more.

Lumpy Bed

Due to lack of staff, check in was slow. The receptionist was very friendly but had to jump between reception and the bar.

The bed was very uncomfortable, I felt I would roll out of it.

It was a great stay with good service overall, the room was comfortable, the front desk girls at our arrival were superb. The breakfast is good, however I wish you would’ve thought about options for people with food allergies.

The unique part is that they gave my son a welcome gift. The staff was really nice overall. The breakfast was good. The only thing is that the rooms had a smell like dust was in the air, and that was really uncomfortable for us.

Stayed here in April 2022 with a friend- we shared a twin room that was recently refurbished. Lovely room and the continental breakfast buffet was very good. The location was very near to the shopping streets and around a 15 minute walk to the train station. The only things I would think about mentioning is that the TV in the room I was staying in was not a smart TV so no Netflix or able to pair your device to the TV to watch things. Also no mini-fridge in the room, so anyone with medication such as insulin will need to ask hotel staff to store this for them.

Weekend in Mechelen

Excellent location, 2 minutes walk to the centre.
The open plan reception, bar, breakfast lounge worked very well with its relaxed contemporary feel, and you can even make your own waffles!
The hotel has a secure underground car park, and when you leave you are very quickly on the motorway to all routes.
We will definitely use this hotel on our next visit to Mechelen

This is traditional European hotel. Room is a bit small, no frige to keep your Belgium chocolates cool, it's very convenient, stuff speaks English very well,, the breakfast is wonderful with delicious choices!! Make sure to let them know you have prepaid for your time there if you have already done so , so you only pay the city tax on your way out.

Feels like a hospital!

When we first arrived, we parked in the underground garage. I got the kids out the back and in the stroller, come to find out there is no elevator from the garage to the lobby. oh well. we checked in and went to our room. it was white, with little to no decor and it feels like a hospital. i slept on the sofa bed with about 50 springs poking my back every night so i just decided to sleep on the floor. i usually like holiday inns back in america but this one is horrible. the staff was really friendly and the area was nice so that is a plus.

Great location, decor a bit worn

Hotel is in a very central location close to lots of good restaurants, bars etc. The room was very clean and free wifi is a must these days so a tick in that box too. There seemed to be quite a bit of building work going on which seems necessary as the interior decor is starting to look a bit tired.

Location good - that's it. You could not pay me to stay in this hotel again. Undergoing refurbishment and frankly totally unacceptable. Room dirty due to all the building work going on. Had to walk up the car ramp to get to reception which was a makeshift desk down an alley. Wi Fi didn't work, they had run out of maps of the area. Breakfast was in a tent with builders walking in and out . No bar or lounge - no nothing. They should have refunded half the cost of staying there or better still closed the hotel while the work was being carried out. Dire!

We arrived in the last hour of front foyer renovation, harried ,unhelpful, stressed staff. Foyer in chaos. Went for a walk & upon return what a different situation, area tidied somewhat & staff starting to smile. Room comfortable & spacious enough but starting to age a little. Breakfast in new breakfast room good. Wifi connection worked well. Parking convenient & secure under the building. Location a little difficult to find with supplied address, there seemed to be 2 branches of the street. Good central location for the city.

Nice breakfast but let down by room allocation

Booked a doluble room. Arrived and told there were none left. Given a twin. Room very small compared to other holiday inn hotels we have stayed at. Next day when checking out at midday we overhead receptionist telling a couple who were checking in same story - no doubles, but put the two singles together but like our room there us a fixed cabinet between the beds.
