The hotel is amazing, service great and facilities excellent. We had a problem with the aircon in the room which was fixed quickly. I would say that the hotel will be due a small refurb in the next 2-3 years as a few shabby parts but I love this place.

Stayed here during ROCK WERCHTER!! Getting to the festival takes 30 minutes. A nice hotel, but let down by some very expensive parking costs.
The public parking in the area is not straightforward and the hotel is in a one-way system. So you really have no other option.
The underground parking is tight.I was pleased we had a small hire car, as it would be very hard to park otherwise. The breakfast was also not cheap.

Upmarket hotel in old large church, good location

Upmarket hotel fashion around large old Church. Good breakfast. Large rooms, but down side is they are very dark and gloomy despIre large windows, i.e. cant raise the heavy \" net\" curtains. Furnishing are very dark and inappropriately placed e.g Fridge nfront of the full length mirror. Nice staff. Good location.

We very much enjoyed our one night stay at this historic and unique property. We had a room on the second floor with stained glass window and the ability to see what the ceiling of the church would have looked like up close. The bed was comfortable and the listed amenities were available. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful.

There is a lot of construction around the property, roads ripped up, making it difficult to get cabs. Also, we stayed two nights, and on both nights there was an event planned, so no food service was available.

A unique gem in Mechelen

A very unique hotel. It used to be an old church some the design is quite special. Standard rooms are normal but if you get a premium room it will be quite spectacular. Breakfast is quite expensive but it is amazing! They even serve Cava!

Nice to have a quiet place away from the hubbub of Bruges but within easy access. Quick shuttle or (pre-paid at the hotel) taxi ride much easier than trying to drive, park & walk. Excellent breakfast.

Unique hotel in old church with very stylish rooms. Mine was a bit dark (atmospheric lighting) and needed torch on my phone to operate the coffee maker and lock the safe. WiFi was also poor and patchy. That said it was an unusual experience.

No complaints at all just an observation, I get having a separate look but not having a wash basin in there which means you still have to go into the bathroom to wash your hands, odd!

The thing that I dislike most is... the room does not have a clear-glass window. I did not have a view of outside and the sky! Made me very uncomfortable! Regarding breakfast, food is ok, drink is very bad... they do not have black tea, something like \"English Breakfast Tea\" or similar.

Quirky hotel retaining lots of original features including stained glass in some rooms and altar in dining area. Nice quiet comfortable rooms. 15 minute walk to train station - very close to several nice cafes and restaurants. Mechelen is a lovely town below the tourist radar - or at least our radar and we loved it !
Will come back to both hotel and town

Nice hotel and am not opposed to using again

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. My first night I was given a room on the bottom floor next to the patio. Although a nice room, the noise from other guests in the patio kept me up so the following day the staff offered me another room that was much quieter. The rooms are nice, but the carpets are in need of changing (in both rooms I was in). The only other issue I can bring up is that the wifi, although free, is with heavy conditions. If you want wifi for more than 1 device and/or want a faster, more stable, connection, then you have to buy it. I generally dislike this kind of policy and given hotels of similar price/comfort will pick the hotel that doesn't do this.

Lovely and interesting hotel

We booked this hotel based on the photos of the rooms - a converted church. Unfortunately the rooms with \"church features\" were a bit more than we wanted to pay, but the bargain room was still beautiful and comfortable nonetheless. The staff were very attentive without being overbearing and everyone was helpful. The parking situation is not ideal, but it's city centre so that was expected. We parked at a free lot by the train station with just a 15 minute walk.

Excellent hotel. Only issues are that breakfast is not included and I hate paying 20 euros for a bowl of cereal and a coffee and that the bar was closed by 10.45 one evening when we were looking for a final relaxing drink before bed.

3 day business trip to Tremelo which is about 30 minutes drive from the hotel. We wanted to Stay in Mechelen so chose this hotel. What a great nice surprise. You cannot fault the hotel, the service, the food, the architecture or anything. I would definitely recommend it and will stay again.

The hotel is actually a refurbished church so it has an interesting atmosphere I found very pleasant. And the bed is very comfortable. Good sized room, clean, very nice shower and a good selection of foods for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again. It is not grand and luxurious but it has everything you need and it is comfortable.

Only church rooms worth stay

Placed in ground floor room in annex to church. Room's only window was right next to a table of bar's terrace. Guests at the table were allowed to be there until after 11pm, dropped glassware, loud enough to hear conversation over television and ventilation fan. AC did not work, room was 28°C by morning. Some of floor tiles in bathrrom rocked due to missing grout. Grout in shower needed attention for mold.
Bed and bedding were comfortable.

Great hotel in a great place

I unfortunately had a very brief stay at this hotel whilst travelling on business but wow! Definitely recommend, great value for money - was a very nice surprise to find my room had been upgraded when checking in. Definitely one for the bucket list. This was my first stay in Mechelen, as I normally stay in Antwerp when travelling on business, but decided to try here to avoid the sheer volume of traffic. Will definitely be heading to Mechelen from now on, was very pleasantly surprised at the location as a whole but the hotel certainly made it a far more interesting experience.

One night only to see friends in the area.

I had the most basic of rooms available, but it was superbly comfortable and looked far more expensive than the tariff. Staff were brilliant, location great, and parking nearby (hotel parking was full) was reasonable and safe - my car was ram packed with my stuff I needed to live on for at least half a year. I will definitely book again for a longer visor when my girlfriend comes over...

Could not fault this hotel. From the moment that you walk in it just shouts luxury. Room was spacious & very clean. Bed was super comfy & the robes & slippers gave that extra special comfortable touch. Staff were great & the hotel was in a great location nearby to Tomorrowland on a short bus journey away. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Belgium!

The convent rooms are not a breathtaking as those in the former church part of the hotel but it remains an attractive reimagining of a wonderful building. Breakfast room adds to the quality of the food on offer. For a hotel chain that places significant importance on their environmental impact the excessive temperature of the bathroom was a little surprising.

Unusual but excellent hotel

Greatly enjoyed our stay at the Martin's Patershof hotel. The staff are all invariably friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel itself, a converted church and convent, is really attractive. The room was a good size, with nice bathroom and shower. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment there. Location is a 5 minute walk to the old town area. Parking is either close to the hotel and quite expensive, or a 10 minute walk and very inexpensive.

Beautiful hotel and very unique as a former church. Rooms were a little small and dark with little natural light but this was made by having beautiful stained glass window fitted. Certainly a first for me! Room decor was fantastic but arches in the room made walking around without bumping into them challenging. A little difficult to find even with a GPS fitted to our vehicle. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good but a bit expensive at 20 euros. I would stay again if I am in Mechelin again on business.

Nice Hotel, nice staff, short walk to some nice restaurants. The hotels restaurant was closed for evening meals, probably won't have eaten anyway. 20 Euros for a very poor quality breakfast, reconstituted scrambled eggs and streaky oily bacon, stewed coffee absolutely horrible. Won’t go back

Best in Mechelen

This hotel is amazing to see, housed in a former cathedral. The rooms are interestingly shaped and elements of the original decor have been preserved. Comfortable and great service -- definitely the best hotel in Mechelen. I also appreciated the happy hour snacks and nice breakfast. It is a little hard to find the first time you go there, as it is tucked away in a neighborhood away from the main street. But very close to restaurants and shopping.

Stunning building

A wonderful re-imagining of a beautiful old building. Parking can be a bit of a challenge on street is limited and hotel is costly, free 1 hour internet is useful but costs for longer connection for extended working are on the high side. Location is quiet but within a few minutes walk of the bustling heart of a city that deserves to be visited more. Cosy room was more spacious than was expected, double bed created from two single beds was a bit of a challenge.

Not great. wouldnt stay again unless i had to.

Staff were not helpful. Asked one if they could help with the room service menu and was told \"i dont know what that means, i just work here.\"
Room was very noisy. Air conditioning was loud and inconsistant.
No restaurant in hotel for dinner.

I would highly recommend this hotel. From my first encounter via email, customer service was stellar. The rooms are spectacular, beds are like sleeping on a cloud. Within walking distance of many sites and restaurants. Every employee in the hotel was helpful and courteous. Breakfast they offer is wonderful.

It's a church that's been converted to a sheek and comtemporary boutique hotel. For a European hotel, the rooms are very spacious and breakfast is included. Though it's a pricey taxi ride from the heart of Brussels, it's a very inviting hotel. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Verwarming stuk in kamer. Onpersoonlijke en trage incheck. Stoffige kamer die niet overeenkomt met de foto’s. Niet mogelijk om parking te reserveren waardoor je 2,1km moet rijden naar de dichtstbijzijnde parking.
