Wasn’t sure what to expect but pleasantly surprised how great this location was! It offered a smaller, more private place to stay; pool was clean and rarely busy and we used it every day at some point. Hot tub was also used several times and we always had it to ourselves. Felt very private! Room was clean with fresh sheet and towels every other day. Small kitchenette had basics to cook with and we made meals nearly every day. Easy 5-10min walk to the palm beach area for restaurants, beach days or exploring. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and hope to in the future.

We had a great stay! Even though there are mutiple rooms we never saw the patio/pool area crowded. We had the pool suite and it was spacious with a kitchen and a nice seating area outside. The housekeeper was very nice and attentive and the check in/out process was seamless. It is on a great area close to the beach in a quiet neighborhood. I would definitely be back abd recommend them 100%.

10/10. What a little gem. Peaceful, quiet and accommodating. We had a short stay but just great. Tips - white appartment would be good for longer stays or if you want to eat in as it has full kitchen and kitchen plates, utensils etc. Having a car is ideal if you want to go around the island but not a deal breaker as walking to beach and restaurant options just over 10 mins. Mostly deal with the hosts by email and they have staff on business hrs to help with check in. If you are rigid and need a hotel with front desk…look elsewhere, but you would miss out on a special little place.

Surprised my fiance for his 40th by staying at this really beautiful Airbnb like hotel. The grounds was clean, the area was quiet! We had the Moroccan room and it was so dope! My fiance was very happy and impressed. We were just 5 mins from the strip and every other convenient places we need to be. We truly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were lovely!
Will stay here again in the future!

This was a fabulous place to stay. Our first trip to Aruba, and the walk to the beach was under 10 min. We were able to walk to a variety of restaurants on the water and in the tourist / hotel area just off the beach. Blanco greeted us when we arrived. The pool / patio area was very quiet ~ and they provide beach chairs and coolers for any excursions you may want to do. We would love to come back

No formal check-in, Bianca the housekeeper was extremely polite but unfortunately doesn't speak much english, phone translator solved that issue. If one doesn't have cellphone service in Aruba it is impossible to get a taxi or call anyone/make restaurant reservations.

This property was friendly, comfortable, and had perfect amenities. We enjoyed the neighborhood and the common spaces, including an excellent pool. It was very convenient to have amenities such as a coffee maker, toaster, fridge, and plenty of towels. The morning views on the lagoon with amazing birds, lovely sunrises, and nice breezes were my favorite part. We will plan our next trip around availability at this property!

Our room was smallest unit, would have much appreciated a hot plate or toaster oven. In part our fault case maybe we booked too late. The quietness and location was awesome. We got to know the neighbours/ neighbourhood and was very comfortable. Bus stop very close which we did use.

A Perfect little spot.

Can not say enough about this hotel. It is not on the beach, but that was not a problem, as it was quiet at night, and never had to fight for a pool chair. We were in the White Apartment. It was well stocked, so we ate breakfast by the pool, enjoyed not having to rush out to get coffee, etc. Blanca was great. Place had chairs for beaches, which gave us the opportunity to explore a bit. We will definitely be back to this gem.

If you are in to laid back, limited cleaning, no communication, no laundry on property, then this is for you. The location was convenient to Palm Beach. Pool was clean. Space was large enough. Nice shower. Biggest complaint was poor communication. No one really there to greet you. Find your room, key in the door. Good luck! Floors a little uneven so need to be careful. I would not return but there were several people there that had stayed before and understood the situation.

It is a good clean guesthouse with a very helpful manager, Carlos. Only problem was, there wasn’t many restaurants or stores near the hotel so we had to walk or take a taxi to eat or shop, other than that it is a good place to stay, will stay there again.

Great place but white room king bed needs to go.

It is a very nice hotel however we had a few problems.
The first room assigned had a terrible smell of epoxy paint, it was so strong that after being in there for a couple of hours I had a headache. I asked if there was another room we could move to and the housekeeper contacted the manager and fortunately they had one room available which was very nice and spacious. Everything would have been great in the new room however the bed was super hard and lopsided. Had a hard time sleeping for the remaining 3 nights. If it wasn't for those two situations I would happily give the hotel 4-5 stars since everything else was very nice and the housekeeper and host were very accommodating.

The house is beautiful and very clean and quiet. We had the Penthouse and it adds a lovely element of privacy. The apartment is well stocked and is HUGE in terms of space for a couple.

We found a car to be very useful, if even if driving to the beach which is only a 10 minute walk away.

Finally, great service from the owners and staff.

Small property in quiet semi-residential area across the wetland area from the Marriott properties. Greeted by name on arrival by housekeeper who gave us our keys and a tour. Spacious room, comfy bed, nice bathroom, good wifi, a newer TV with usual streaming stuff and basic US cable channels. The pool area is very nice with plenty of shaded areas and a grill which we didn't use. Although I think the hotel was full, most guests spent the day elsewhere and came back in evening. Several return guests were there. Coffee from their complementary coffee bar was excellent. We had friends at the Marriott so walked over there every day using the path across the wetland, seemed very safe even at night. Maybe 5 minutes. Noord supermarket is 10 min walk for essentials like groceries, beer, wine liquor. A car was not necessary for us but would be good for longer stay to explore. Cabs are easy and not too expensive. If we come back to Aruba we would surely consider staying here again.

An absolute gem. Beautiful clean property. Very comfortable beds. Secluded and gorgeous pool area. Small number of units allowed for easy access to shared facilities (pool, barbecue, lounge chairs) and opportunities for one-to-one connections with other guests. Easy walking distance to groceries and Palm Beach. Carlos and Blanca are simply the best at what they do. No question this is where we will stay the next time we come.

Enjoyed my stay in the Moroccan room. It was a very quick walk to the Marriott properties to visit friends who were staying there. Also it was very easy to communicate with the property manager Carlos via text. They were extremely accommodating when I needed to add an additional night. They set me up in the new room and moved my bags for me. I would highly suggest this property and look forward to staying again.

This was my first Solo trip so safety was my first concern. I walked to the beach several times while i was there and even walked back from a fireworks show at night and did not have one worry. The property was so inviting and relaxing. The pool was always clean and the water temp was perfect. I ate breakfast by the pool and laid out in the cabana every night and enjoyed the breeze. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We really enjoyed the pool area and the walkable distance to restaurants and entertainment. The maintenance and cleaning of the property seems to be a lot for one person. I would get a different room than the loft suite as it is small and has difficult stairs with no railing to hold onto up to the loft bed. We knew there were steps, but felt they were slightly dangerous once we saw them in person. The bed in loft is also very uncomfortable and lumpy. That was disappointing to us. We got there and there was no microwave but the owner went out and got us one and that was very helpful as we planned to make breakfast in the room several days. Toaster oven worked great! We would stay again but would get a different room.

Pros: Good location, nice, spacious, updated room. The pool area was very nice with lots of seating. Comfortable bed.
Cons: It is not a hotel as advertised, it's a guest house. Also there is no front desk as listed on expedia. Our cell does not work on the island so the only way we could communicate with the host was by email. We luckily saw a maid when we arrived or we would have not known how to get into our room. We were there for 5 days and never saw anyone except the maid, and only twice during our entire stay. Our room was only cleaned once. We had the pool room and there was a large awning that made a lot of noise in the wind, which is always in Aruba. Also our bathroom door did not close.

We really enjoyed this property. We booked the Moroccan Room, which was really cute. We arrived earlier than check in, and we were allowed to check in to the room early. The pool area was really cool and relaxed. The property was near a trail that took us right to the Marriott properties, which saved a lot of time walking. The property was also an 5-20 minute walk from most places in Noord and Palm beach areas. The air conditioning in the room was amazing as well. The property manager reached out to me during the stay to see how our stay was and if we had any issues. They had a list of restaurants and taxis with numbers to call if needed. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for something cheaper while still being close to everything.

Very well cared for property, felt like a labor of love. Generous management let us have our room several hours before check in time when all we asked for was a place to put our bags while we waited. An air conditioning problem was fixed within a half hour of reporting it. Really nice peaceful pool area, attractive neighborhood about 15 minutes walk to the Palm Beach action. We had the Tropical suite at the front of the property and we loved the decor and convenience, but perhaps we would try a different room with a little more view another time. If you dislike cookie cutter corporate properties, this is a great choice. You could get away without renting a car if you’re only interested in the Palm Beach area but I’d suggest renting a car to explore the other quieter beaches with terrific snorkeling.

Finally felt at home in Aruba. We had left a high rise resort where the service was less than stellar to stay at this gem where I wish we had stayed all along. Room was the size of a small house, clean, welcoming. The bed was like a cloud (something we hadn’t had all week) and the recommended list was so helpful. Also helping by allowing us to leave our bags before checking in and providing us with beach towels was a nice extra that made a huge difference in our day. Thanks Again.

Lovely Boutique Hotel. Avoid the Tropical Suite

We stayed in the Superior Suite and the actual suite was as advertised and very comfortable. The suite named Topical which we were assigned however did not have a garden view or patio as advertised. In fact the suite opened onto the front parking drive and road. To access the lovely pool area required going into the main hotel entrance and the through to the pool. We would stay again but book one of the pool suites.

Located in a quiet neighborhood where you can see the casinos, but are not right next to them this adult only boutique is clean, beautiful and relaxing. Did I mention affordable?! Very nice house and room to stay in, shower did not work correctly it kept shutting off on me had to hold the knob out with one hand while washing with the other, could’ve used a dust mop to clean the floor daily, the coffee machine was nice could have had more creamers out to put in coffee. We absolutely loved the property! We stayed in the penthouse, and you get such a lovely view overlooking the beautiful pool area and the hotel strip. We walked to the beach daily, and it was a nice walk, but if you rent a car its like a min drive! The staff was so nice and kept everything clean with constant fresh new towels and linens. Loved, loved it here! :)

I stayed here just for one night prior to flying back home. I wish I had more time to stay here and actually use the amazing pool and hot tub/outdoor space. It was a very boutique type of hotel with only 4 rooms, and we had a large room with an awesome bathroom. The check in experience was a bit odd. There was no front desk or main office, and had the cleaning lady not been there, I'm not sure if I would've known what room to enter. There was a small list of resources in the room for taxis, the host numbers, etc. And both taxi services past 8pm did not pick up, and ones of the hosts responded about an hour after we contacted them. Luckily we had another taxi service that was very helpful and they came to pick us up. If you don't have a car here, or taxi service, you're going to have to bike or walk where you need to go, which was frustrating. It was a cute stay, but the resources and check out were not so easy to manage.

We stayed in the Pool Suite for 4 nights. It was perfect for two
of us. It has a small kitchen area and walk-out patio with dining table where you can eat outdoors. Blanca made sure our stay was comfortable and brought us clean towels each day. Place itself is beautiful and location was perfect. You can walk to the Palm Beach, and Arashi and Malmok were only about 2 to 5 minute drives. Arashi and Malmok were our favorite beaches as we love to snorkel.
Mike and Amanda recommend great local places to eat. We loved Eduardo’s and Wacky Wahoo- two places we tried near by.
We will be staying here again next time. Place is perfect for couples and families. They provide beach towels and chairs for guests to use. They also have couple of gas grills and beautiful outdoor eating area under the canopy.

The Modern hotel was amazing. Blanca was the best house manager ever. I would like to steal her. The property was decorated nicely and the location was close to everything we needed. I didn't have a rental car, but was still able to get around easily on foot. I am looking to book my next adventure at the modern hotel very soon. I will definitely recommend this place to other. Even though i selfishly want to keep it to myself so it doesnt get booked out.

The room was in excellent condition, looked newly renovated and well maintained. We were 10min walk from the beach and restaurants, but we did have to take the short cut through the protected area between the hotel and the Marriott. The housekeeper and owners were really friendly and answered any questions we had. The property has about 6-7 rooms so there's no staff 24/7 however, the owners are really easy to contact and really responsive. We would definitely stay there again!

The property was clean quiet and convenient, easy access to the beach a five minute walk, and to the restaurants.
Mike was very helpful and responded to questions very promptly!
Bianka was very helpful and asked frequently if there was anything I needed.

Great gem

The hotel was very clean, the location very convenient, the staff helpful and nice.
The backyard is AWESOME.
My wife and I will definitely stay at Modern Hotel when we will be back in Aruba (and we will!!)

Peaceful and Relaxing

Beautiful property and clean. I felt safe and very comfortable. I was happy that the property manager provided all information for local transportation, food, shopping and activities. Amazing place to stay and not too far from the airport.

Location was not easy to the beach. It’s advertised across the street from the Marriott, but neglected to mention the busy road and water swamp to cross to get there. The place is clean. But no front desk and no house phone so your rolling the dice on getting timely responses from staff. I had the Deluxe room it was nice and house, but the garden view was a basic plant pot by a wall.

Modern Hotel Aruba was very clean, safe and well equipped. Close to beaches and Palm Beach attractions. Blanca the housekeeping/ attendant was very friendly and accommodating. Very nice stay.
