I had a great time at Riu Palace Aruba - the room itself was very good with a wonderful view, the facilities and stuff were very nice and friendly - trying to accommodate requests as much as possible.
I celebrated my birthday at the property and they sent a chocolate cake to my room which was very sweet!
Being a vegetarian, the only thing that i think could have been better was the food options in the restaurants. They were no vegetarian options which was sad but the chefs tried to make something on request.

The staff for the most part were nice. However, the room was dirty when we went in. Salt and sand all over the floor, a sock and bracelet in the couch. The restaurants would not allow us to eat at them. They have a ridiculous policy of reservations required, which doesn’t make since at an all inclusive. But they only take a small amount of the all inclusive customers. They only want the paying customers. I paid for this, a large amount actually, to stay and enjoy every amenity for a week and we could not get into one restaurant except for the Don Nicolas.
There was a tiff at the palapas on the beach. A man came down and kicked people off of an area saying it was his and he had been there since January 30th. The manager or supervisor came over and shook hands with this man. However, there are clear signs on each palapa that states they are open to all. If you are gone for more than 2 hours the palapa is open to anyone again. The fact that the staff let this man claim one as his own is a joke and favorites should never happen.
I had to purchase a 2nd room due to my daughter’s snoring. They would not even give me a deal. For four additional nights I was charged $2975. I am so disappointed in RIU Palace. I will never promote this hotel nor visit it again.
And Expedia is a scam. I booked all inclusive, adults only hotel. Be aware that RIU palace is the family hotel. Expedia lied about the palace being adults only.

Everything was great except for a specialty restaurants. They are very small and do not take reservations. I was told I had four people ahead of me was given a pager. It never went off. I came back an hour later. They said I was still waiting for a table and it was 10 tables ahead of me which makes no sense at all.. The hostess was all wheel driveobviously taking money to get people in quicker.

Casino staff sucked. They do everything possible to make sure you don’t win. Seen it first hand along with everyone’s the roulette table. Changing balls, stopping the spin halfway through. Some how I managed to still win. Stay away if you want better

This was my 3rd trip to Aruba and 3rd time staying @Hotel Riu. I traveled solo on this trip. I was originally placed in a room on the 3rd floor. It was an older room and had issues (broken toilet and bugs in the shower that came out of the wall). I requested another room and was transferred to the 10th fl. The room was much better; however, issues still existed (water backed up in the shower and the plastic was coming off of the shower door).
If I travel back to Aruba, I would stay at a different place.

Just got back from an awesome stay at the Hotel Riu Palace Aruba, and I'm giving it 5 out of 5 stars.
The room was spotless. Bed was very comfortable, everything felt fresh. Perfect for crashing after a long day in the sun.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Everyone from the front desk to the bar folks had big smiles and were quick to help with whatever we needed. Made the whole vibe feel welcoming and relaxed.
Food-wise, the restaurants were top notch. Plenty of variety, everything tasted great. The shops on-site were solid too—grabbed a few souvenirs without having to venture far.
And the pool and beach areas were fantastic. Right on Palm Beach with that gorgeous white sand and clear water, and the swim-up bar was super convenient. The whole setup just screamed chill paradise mode. Spent most days bouncing between the beach, pool, and a cold drink.
Overall, if you're heading to Aruba, this spot is a winner. Would definitely go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

This is our second time staying at Riu. One of the reasons we chose Riu was for the steakhouse. We were very disappointed that it is only available every other day. We did not see that on the Riu website. The Italian restaurant does not offer traditional Italian foods
The rooms and pool were very nice. Staff weren’t as friendly this trip. Very rarely a smile except from the housekeeping staff. Most likely will not return

Resort is beautiful, tons to do, great shows, live music and food always available! The town is also a short walk with tons of shops, restaurants, fun bars and live music!! Highly recommend!!!

We booked a ocv room and had a building directly in front of us with a pov Rm 720 &719. We paid additional $1000 for those rooms. They offer a $590 resort access credit, very misleading. When we inquired to get a massage which was $180 they told us we could get $25 credit toward that. Lastly we were advised that there was going to be construction on the bar restaurant that was supposed to be finished in December but they had a whole wing of the hotel under construction with loud noise and some areas cut off during the whole stay. The kiddie camp was closed. The playground was closed. We were traveling with a four-year-old . Again it was very misleading. The staff was wonderful ,very courteous.

This is our second visit to Hotel Riu and will definitely come back next January, with more family. staff was excellent; we had a problem with our room when we first checked in and asked for another room, staff immediately took action and we were able to get another room the next morning. Despite the reputation of the RIU properties the room was embarrassing. Outdated with zero amenities. The first night we slept with blankets because they were “out”. They claim to have a nicer side of the property but you don’t know where you are staying until you get there.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Riu Palace Aruba. I booked and paid for a Junior Suite with Ocean View, but the accommodations and overall experience fell far below what is expected from a resort of this caliber.
Upon check-in, we were assigned Room 305, which was in unacceptable condition. The air conditioning did not work, there was no internet access, and the television was nonfunctional. The room also had a strong moldy odor, and the sofa was visibly torn and covered in mildew. We contacted the front desk around 11:00 AM to request assistance. Despite four follow-up calls throughout the day, no one came to address the issues until around 8:00 PM, only after we had already decided to change rooms due to the lack of response.
For the second night, we were moved to Room 295, where the situation worsened. We encountered cockroaches on two consecutive nights. When we requested to be moved again, we were told no other rooms were available, forcing us to remain in a room with an active pest issue. We even had to place towels along the bottom of the door to prevent insects from entering. This was unacceptable, especially at a resort advertised as luxury.
Room 295 also presented additional problems. There was no elevator servicing that area, making it difficult to transport luggage. The room was located close to ground level, resulting in excessive nighttime noise, and once again, the television did not work. None of this aligned with what we paid for.

We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Hotel Riu Palace Aruba. The hotel is located in a great location with great beaches and vibrant nightlife. The property was very clean, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was diverse and very good throughout our stay. To top it off, the New Year’s Eve at the Moomba Restaurant was exceptional and a true highlight of the trip. While seating around the beach and pool was limited during peak times, it did not detract from an otherwise excellent overall experience.

The frontline staff at RIU Aruba are genuinely friendly and want to help, and they deserve credit for their attitude. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the administrative staff, who came across as patronizing when issues arose and seemed to have very little autonomy or common sense in resolving them.

Our experience started off poorly when they refused to let my wife check in without me, despite our flights being delayed separately. That set the tone. We then ran into multiple issues with both check-in and our room. We were repeatedly told things like “a bed is being sent,” only to be told later that it wasn’t possible—sometimes after we’d already been moved to another room. The lack of coordination was frustrating, and we often had to argue just to get solutions that were logical and reasonable.

The property itself is also poorly maintained. During our stay, part of the pool bar actually broke and fell onto guests, which was alarming. Room cleaning was inconsistent as well—we often had to wait until late in the day for service.

The food was another major disappointment. While you can eventually find something edible, the overall quality and presentation are very poor for a resort of this size and reputation.

Overall, you do get what you pay for in this area, but given the disorganization, maintenance issues, and food quality, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and would not return.

Our room had water coming from the floors when you step on it. I called to complain and nobody even came to look at it. I had to request cleaning multiple times and still did not get my room cleaned until I made a big deal with the manager and finally got our room cleaned at 10pm. They have 4 restaurants and only open 2 per day that maybe seat 40-50 people in a day and are walk in only. Impossible to get a table at the restaurants so buffet is your only option. Terrible experience. Very Disappointed.

Despite what I write below I would recommend this resort as long as guest stay there with eyes wide open
The staff was pleasant. We ate at all our meals at one restaurant: Don Nicolas. The selection of food was amazing. The fruits and juices were great. Some of the other foods were good to okay.
On to the negatives: It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the gym on the property was closed for reservation and had been since January 2025.
The room wasn't ready until 4:30 but, naturally, there was no discount for that inconvenience. Considering that there IS a penalty for late checkout on rooms, that seems unfair, regardless if that is the industry standard.

Remodeling in building 1 , on our opinion, made building worse. It’s clean, but seems to be simpler. Floor, walls look cheap for Palace.

Hello,

My family and I returned from our trip to Aruba and I am writing to you regarding an unexpected situation while we stayed at Riu Palace Aruba.

On Friday, December 19th we woke up to no hot water. We had a day planned at the beach so we got dressed and left for a few hours. When we returned 3 of our rooms still had no hot water and my room had no water running at all. We were told a pipe burst in the hotel and was being repaired. The front desk sent a maintenance staff to my room and even he was surprised I had no running water (Room 1442).

While an unexpected occurrence for everyone, this was a huge inconvenience for me and my family. My 2 year old niece was with us and had to take a cold bath when we returned from the beach.

I would like to request monetary compensation (refund) for the full day I did not have access to hot water. We are frequent guests at Riu hotels when we travel and this is our first bad experience and cannot be ignored.

I am looking forward to your response.

The RIU Hotel in Aruba is a very nice hotel and a great place to stay. The beach is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the ocean. The hotel itself is very clean and well cared for, which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

The food selection is big and offers a lot of variety, so there was always something for everyone to enjoy. Everything was fresh and well prepared. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, always making sure guests felt taken care of.

Overall, RIU Aruba is a fantastic hotel with great service, a lovely beach, and excellent food. I would definitely recommend it and would happily stay here again.

This resort is definitely not like what it looks online. Some parts yes but other parts no. My room for example, what I booked vs what I walked into. Two completely different looks! Wasn’t at all what I expected. Family resort and no games or fun? Where’s the entertainment team? Room was cleaned and left with no towels? Called and requested, put in on the app & even went down to the front desk. Had to wait an hour for a shower and was stuck with eating at the buffet!!! If you’re not in line by 5:20/5:30 you’re not eating at a specialty restaurant forget about it. We got there at 6 first night and the lady said “we’re closed”. All I could do was laugh. Suppose to be vacation and I have to fight for a place in line for dinner? Not relaxing at all. The towel lady is always so miserable. She handed me a towel with blood spots on it and got an attitude when I asked for a new one. Why not just throw it away? Drinks are ehh.. just get something on the rocks. Not the best bartenders for mixing drinks, everything I had was just not it. Nothing was balanced. Overall, Aruba was nice. Weather was good, beach was clean, ocean was clear as day. But I don’t recommend staying here. I’m also a RIU elite member. I’ve stayed at tons of other locations and this is by far the worse one. They definitely need some help. Very disappointing honestly especially when you pay $$$$ for an all inclusive.

I recently stayed at the Riu Palace Aruba and overall, I would consider my experience average. The rooms were very spacious, which I loved, but the furniture felt a bit outdated. The hotel itself was extremely clean, and the location is one of its biggest strengths, it’s right next to most of the popular party spots and the busy beach area. You can easily walk, rent an e-scooter right out front, or take a taxi for about $15 USD. If you’re able to walk, I definitely recommend it to explore the area. As far as food, I can only speak on breakfast and the American Country Sports Bar since I did excursions during lunch and dinner and also had a birthday dinner off-site. The food I did try was just okay. The sports bar has very limited seating and they don’t allow take-out, so you may end up waiting for a spot. Room service was another downside. The menu was very limited with not much variety compared to other all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed at. I also wasn’t greeted with a welcome drink or offered help with my bags, although I noticed the group behind me received that service, which felt inconsistent. Overall, despite a few inconveniences, the stay wasn’t bad. The location and cleanliness were the highlights, but the food variety, room service, and small service inconsistencies kept it from being great.

Never made it on the trip. The Riu took $2500. However we never made it due to personal reasons. Expedia and our travel insurance through Expedia would not do anything about it. I will be canceling my Expedia and the travel insurance company from further terrible experiences. Absolutely disgusted with Expedia and the third-party travel insurance

The hotel was generally very good!

Pros:
1. Beach front location, beautiful and very convenient.
2. Walkable to access to the local restaurants and shopping stores.
3. Food and beverage were excellent. The food was generally very delicious, and as an all-inclusive hotel, the quality of the alcoholic drinks was decent/good.
4. The bath towels in the room and the beach towels were all warm, dry, and clean.
Cons:
1. Room facilities were quite mediocre. The sofa was very dirty, the chair was old, and the bed linen wasn't very clean.
2. They did not provide any disposable amenities, such as bar soap or shower caps (which is quite environmentally friendly).
3. Air conditioning had a moldy/musty smell, suffocating!
