The floor and bedroom had a weird smell like mildew or mold. It made my allergies worst. Sneezing and running nose. The last day the room and hallway smell much better. The manager to make reservations for restaurants always them me they booked up on my first day. I was unhappy about it. The second my sister went she got a restaurant for us. The third day my sister granddaughter went and got a restaurant reservation for us. I was not happy with the his services or attitude

The staff here are amazing. The food not so much… even the specialty restaurants aren’t great. It’s also absurd that we are limited to 3 nice restaurant reservations when we stayed for 6 days. The individual restaurants are ok the buffets are pretty much bad most of the time. The location and rooms are nice and like I said the staff are great. The only problem is the amount of specialty reservations allowed and the overall taste for most of the food. I saw some conflicting reviews about the food before booking and was concerned. For everyone else seeing these let me be clear, if you’re a foody look elsewhere. If you’re not picky and as long as it’s OK go for it.

Front desk could be better. Long wait after we checked and just needed room number a couple of hours later. People started making their own off to the side and staff took them first. Very frustrating.
Our was delayed and asked for an hour and a half later checkout. They would only give me an hour. Really? Seemed petty.

Also with late checkout they didn’t give me a late checkout card. Wrist band wouldn’t work. Housekeeping staff was trying to help but thankfully my husband was in the room

No washcloths, had to tell front desk twice about towels needed, bugs in salad at buffet, room service not included unless royal level, room smelled musty, black mold in bathroom, patio door couldn't open, no conditioner for hair, shampoo was horrendous, pool was disgusting. The bathrooms need work. The floors in the bathroom need to be buffed or something. Additionally, not everything is included in this “all inclusive” resort. You have to pay for the pool tables and game room. Also, you have to pay for room service - and not just the delivery fee. They charged us for the same food they put out from 11-2, as advertised, because they stopped putting food out at 1. $25 for a burger, when they were supposed to put food out until 2. This is my second year at Barcelo and I was very disappointed. The staff was not very nice besides a handful of them. The bed was awful there was still sand on our floor in our room. The TV kept losing signal. The WiFi connection was awful. We would lose it every two minutes. The restaurants were okay. The Italian restaurant L’Olio is amazing! The Arubian Seafood was delicious! The buffet is the worst. Nothing good there ever. I was very disappointed with the stay. The only up side to this resort is the location and price but I still think I paid too much for not receiving anything good.

Staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Front desk even allowed us to hang around resort and continue to eat and drink until our flight after check out. Everything was clean, pool bar was fun, easy access to beach and shopping, and taxi usually outside waiting. Inclusive buffet bar food was good and plenty to choose from. We have been to this location four times, two times Royal the other two not. I recommend royal. You check in on the ninth floor personal check-in Champagne included. They have their own restaurant on the ninth floor breakfast lunch and dinner are excellent. The beach bar is great also. You send an email prior to your stay and let them know what restaurant you would like to dine in.
Everyone is very friendly, and helpful. You can’t beat the location, the palm trees on the beach, the shops and restaurants across the street. Everything is in walking distance.
The pool could use some updating, but it’s always clean and always something fun going on in the pool area..
We’ve gone to the buffet for breakfast and that’s just OK but you have plenty of options.
The rooms are always clean and cleaned every day. The refrigerator is stocked. We asked for extra waters and beers and got them every day. Could use an update, but it’s clean neat And fun if you like fun.

The rooms were clean. Breakfast and lunch buffet food options were not very good, plus you only had the 2 places to choose from, no outdoor food bar at all, no snack bar either. The restaurants at night were wonderful though!! The nightly food was delicious! We had to wake up at 5:45am each day to be able to reserve a pool lounge chair, by 6:30, they’re all taken. Definitely need a bigger pool area with more chairs. The resort location was great, close to some amazing restaurants across the street.

I had a nice stay at Barceló Aruba. The inside areas were nice and clean and always air conditioned which I appreciated from the hot Aruba sun. The rooms are clean and spacious and well maintained from the Staff. The entire Staff except the Bartenders at the pool, are extremely friendly and helpful! I felt completely safe at Barceló Aruba also whether it was early in the morning or coming back to my room very late at night. The grand pool was always clean and the beach is steps away from the property. I also enjoyed the souvenir shop (Coconuts) adjacent to the Barceló Aruba. Although you may find less expensive items off the property, I felt the prices for gifts, swimming equipment and suits were very reasonable. I didn’t go i to their Casino so I have no comment about that experience. I did peak at their so-called nightly entertainment and it was a joke at best; I saw an employee sitting on a stool in the middle of a slightly raised dance floor, singing to I think was karaoke. There were a couple if gift shops on site for convenience as well. I only went to one of their “reservation only” restaurants and the food was just okay. I actually found the food at both of their all-inclusive restaurants average at best. Although the food looked delicious is was lacking flavor and tenderness even the fish was dried out or overcooked. The pool was always delightful and clean. Families with children had fun but didn’t distract singles or couples as there was lots of space for everyone!

The Barcelo is a very nice hotel however, it is outdated. The sliding doors on the closet did not slide easily and one was very hard to move. The pool is beautiful but, a lot of tiles were missing around the perimeter. The staff were very nice. The rooms were kept clean. The breakfast buffet was good. We enjoyed watching the birds and iguanas while eating breakfast outside.

Wow wow this is the best All Inclusive hotel in Aruba! We were a bit sceptical before going to this hotel due to some bad reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised when we got to our spaciously clean room with a balcony facing the main pool area and sea.
All the staff from the front desk to the bar/restaurant and entertaining team (including house keeping) were very helpful and friendly, too many to mention by name, but our highlight was the Beach Club Restaurant and staff Jaime, Jozef, Gisela and Natalie, who always welcomed us with a true smile 😊

The resort is on the beach so location is very nice. The beach and water are excellent.

The downside is the beach setup - there are very few umbrellas on the beach, for shade. The rest are palm trees. The scarcity of the places in the shade requires people that need shade on the beach - and who doesn't? - to be on the beach latest by 6.30, guarding a palm tree where they want to have beach chairs setup. It is beyond ridiculous! Also we had to move the chairs according to the sun position to maintain shade.

The buffet food is mediocre but they have enough fresh veggies and fruits to make up for it.

We originally booked at Riu Palace Aruba – All Inclusive but were moved to Barcelo Aruba due to renovations — with no price adjustment despite a glaring downgrade in quality. We traveled as a large family with three separate rooms, and the issues were consistent across all of them.
Rooms lacked essentials you'd expect at a 3-star hotel — no conditioner, no body lotion, showers clearly not cleaned daily. Multiple requests to replenish the shower gel dispenser went ignored. Our children reported identical conditions and virtually nonexistent service in their rooms. My son's room phone didn't work — despite promises, it was never replaced. Paint was visibly peeling off hallway ceilings.
Beach umbrellas were severely insufficient, forcing us to wake up at 4:30 AM to secure shade and chairs — an artificial problem not seen at neighboring hotels and easily fixable. Towel service was listed until 6 PM, yet staff refused to distribute towels after 5 PM while the pool and beach remained open and in use. Food quality, variety, and dietary options were disappointing and well below what the hotel's rating and price suggest.
Overall, a deeply disappointing experience for a large amount of money — consistent across our entire family. Riu Palace Aruba should acknowledge the differences, provide a price adjustment, and set proper expectations before transferring guests to a clearly inferior property. None of that happened.

We did have some issues with our friends room, which they were relocated away from us, which wasn't fun. All in all, food was good, wasn't super happy about the Hibachi restaurant, seem small portions, which I know is all you can eat, but you really don't think about portions when you are on vacation.

Breakfast was by far great and the star. Lots to choose from although my daughter had undercooked pancakes 3 days in a row. We ended up eating out 3 nights as they couldnt get us in to the restaurants before 9pm (which kids are done by then) as well as we were after full days in the sun- felt odd since there was hardly anyone in there and its so fast of service. i feel like we spent an absurd amount of money for buffet food which was our only option. I also had emailed trying to make reservation’s prior and no one responded- rooms were cool and kept tidy everyday by housekeeping and location is great other then waking up at 6am to put our towels out under the palms which were not that shady. We also payed for a deluxe ocean and you could barely see the ocean. It was mine and my husbands second time(17years ago) and my kids 1st. We loved the location but for the price and the fact we ended up eating out from the lack of availability we spent to much to want to stay again as well as it needs some serious maintence(missing tiles all over the pool and little
Shade on beach. The booze was not great either. Would be nice to be able to purchase better quality liquor. staff was friendly and overall we felt very safe which is a great.

Loved the location of thos resort - everything you need within walking distance. For the age of the resort i was impressed with our room, clean, comfortable, no issues. Buffet was smaller than I've had but you also have another breakfast option which we used a few times when the buffet was too busy. Overall we thought the food was good, even my picky husband did just fine. Beach and pool were beautiful but we were super annoyed with how guests just left their trash everywhere. I was constantly picking up after people. There are trash cans everywhere so no excuse. Do better people! This is a beautiful resort and we had a great time. Would highly recommend if you're looking for an all inclusive. We also did the Red Sail catamaran (walk right out in front on beach and hop on) and the Pirate ship sunset cruise (walk out front take right and just a short walk down beach). No cab fares needed or pickups. Perfect!

Rooms and most if the hotel needs major updates...but really the rooms had broken outlets (like pushed into the wall broken), ...could be cleaner (especially back of bathrooom door). But service was amazing throughout the trip. Chair situation..i heard a lot about..but we never got up at 6 for a pool chair..instead went to the beach in am..found a shaded spot and the peeps bring you loungers. Pool in the afternoon had available loungers.

Barcelo Aruba , it was an okay experience. I think they could do better they have potential. Five days that i spent there it was impossible to find a chair available by the pool. Buffet food very blah it didn't have a very variety. Been Aruba i expected to find more friendly staff members. When i booked my vacation i had asked for a two queen size beds. Never got it instead we a got a one kind size bed, when i spoke with the front desk the day of arrival i was told that they would try to get a another room and let me know. Never did.
The one thing that i have to say is that the restaurants in the resort the food was very good. At aleast that. Definitely i love Aruba is one happy island 🏝 and i will definitely come back but i will stay in a different resort.

Barcelo Aruba's staff were polite and very helpful. The premises however were worn out and need renovation. We were told that there have been several owners in a row who have not done what is necessary for maintenance. There are also shortages of towels and difficulties in finding spots at the pool (or out of the sun at the beach) unless one goes there to reserve at 6:30 am. The food was plentiful but only average even at the \"special\" restaurants. The drinks were syrupy and watered down in general. Hopefully if renovated and the cuisine improved, this would really be an excellent hotel.

It was supposed to be all inclusive but in fact it really wasn't. Room service wasn't included. You couldn't get reservations for the other restaurants on the property and you had to eat at the buffet for the first dinner. I've never heard of such a thing. This resort was fine for what we were looking for. Two guys just looking for a good time. Drank quite a bit. Food is okay - nothing special but we were not expecting much at an all inclusive resort. I would say the à la carte restaurants are a must for dinner as buffets are maybe subpar. Lobby bar was the best bar (shout out to Armando). Bar by the pool not so much as far as drinks but a good vibe. Resort itself was clean, decent gym, and staff was fine for the most part. The crowd is on the older side but it was still fun meeting all types of people. Beach is calm and we had no problem getting chairs around noon time to relax a bit. I would stay here again with the same purpose but I wouldn’t necessary bring a family here. There is also a ton of stuff right outside the resort between restaurants, bars, clubs, ice cream, anything you can think of.

This is a neat and clean resort. It is older with lots of need for improvement. A lot of broken things everywhere and in our room too. Lights broken, fan in ceiling broken, fan in bathroom broken. We didn’t have any hot water. Called a lot. Did nothing. Requested a lot of items but never received. Not very friendly staff. Would go back Aruba, not barcelo resort.

View from room was okay, partial parking lot & ocean. Front desk staff was not very inviting or friendly checking in or out, the rest of the staff (cleaning, restaurant, etc.) were outstanding! Definitely family friendly. Property needs updating, but generally acceptable for price. Not a fan of not being able to have dinner each night at a sit-down restaurant each night. We could only book 4 nights with a 7 day stay, not acceptable!

Room was fine. The food needs a total overhaul. The buffet was uninspiring, cold items, not much variety. The four restaurants seem to be “filled” every night and no reservations were left but when you walked my there were so many empty tables. Why? The pool is small and can never get a chair. People leave towels on the chairs and don’t use them until early afternoon. This is unacceptable. Lounges for the beach need to be replaced, many are broken and they just aren’t comfortable.
