Decent location and lobby is OK. This hotel fails to disclose some rooms must be accessed by elevator then climbing stairs! We rejected the first dark room ( stairs) then were given another dark room with Very dated dark decor, missing armchair( had a cocktail table only), no soap at sink. Staff seemed not to care.

Room was decent and clean. The shower didn’t contain all the water so water splashed outside the shower door onto the floor. That was a regular problem at our other hotels though. We reserved a parking spot and were told when we arrived to check in that it would be valet parked. That cost us $40 nzd unfortunately. While our hotel room was completely fine, it was nothing special. I’m not sure it was worth the price.

Location is super convenient, but be aware there is a steep hill to reach entrance. Management was very responsive in addressing problems as best as possible (ie no AC in some rooms). Clearly not a 5-star hotel, but working hard to achieve that status. Enjoyable stay!

This hotel promotes itself as 5-star but our stay was far from it. It’s sad as the location, proximity to town, views, and physical hotel itself are great. However we experienced several issues and inconsistencies with housekeeping - no toilet paper, no fresh towels, floors not wiped over in bathroom, no replacement of drinking water - and had housekeeping staff arguing with us about their “rules”. Bar is great but they need more staff - service exceptionally slow.

The hill up to the hotel probably isn't the best if you are lacking mobility but was fine for us and equalled awesome views from the room

Stunning Views and Excellent Service

Hotel St Moritz in Queenstown had beautiful views from our room — a real highlight each morning. The staff were incredibly helpful and made everything easy, from check-in to local tips. It’s a stylish, comfortable place that feels both relaxed and well run and made our honeymoon special. Excellent breakfast with a view too.

Really lovely room, we had a suite and it was really well laid out, lots of nice touches.
Breakfast was nice too and stunning views of the lake.

My only wish was that they light the fire in reception and/or the dining room as it would have been cosy and it was very cold!

Brilliant idea being able to skip the room being served and receive a $20 voucher each day to use in the restaurant/bar.

This property isn’t good for people with mobility issues due to the hill you need to walk up to get to it from town.

Stylish, cozy, hotel. Had one bedroom suite for 3 nights. Great decor! Loved it. Very comfy. Walking into reception with fire place and cozy seats felt just like Europe as name suggest. Well set out. Definite wow factor for me. So close to town centre. Walked there in 2 mins. Nice view from bar and restaurant. Small gym and laundry. Would definitely be top of my list next time in QT. Minor issues not deal breaker. All good from my prespective.

This was our second stay at Hotel St. Moritz. All of the staff are excellent - everyone from the front desk to the bartenders to the folks in the dining room. The Alpine Suite had plenty of room for 3 of us. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Booked a suite with lake views and got a view of backpackers and roofs.

The staff were sloppy and the restaurant was slow and then incorrectly added drinks to our bill.

The entrance is really poor and not a great sense of arrival. The hotel is located on a street that has poor footpaths and is a very steep walk up to the hotel..beware of this. Not on the Main Street.

This is not a 5 star hotel and the suites are not up to a standard of the best in a hotel. Poor amenities.

Beautiful accommodation conveniently located right where you need to be for all things Queenstown has to offer. If you travel here during summer be aware the hotel was built a while back when they prioritized heating over a/c so their is no a/c. The room we stayed in on the 2nd floor sat at 24.4°C for the most part. They do provide effective fans to help cool things. The staff is wonderful and just a short walk to restaurants, shopping, and attractions.

I was disappointed with my two stays at the St. Moritz. While the facilities were beautiful, the service at the bar was subpar. The room I was given had all usable outlets far from the bed, so I had to uncomfortably sleep in the bed backwards. During my second stay, I had to ask for a fan that had been said to be in all rooms. At the bar, the staff seemed more concern with gossiping than attending to their customers - I was clearly standing in line to pay for my drinks and struggled to get the bartender’s attention because, as I could overhear, they were discussing staff drama. This was particularly unprofessional and off-putting. The food at the restaurant was inconsistent - half of the dishes were great and the other were bland. Having laundry was very convenient. Altogether, I expected better service, attention to details (e.g. outlets) to go with the outstanding premises.

my only complaint is that I paid $40 a night for car parking and each night it was full. Had to park on the street a couple of time. Why sell the park space if you sell to many and there is is t enough space? Am I paying for the opportunity to park?

We loved our stay at Hotel St. Moritz. However we had booked and paid more for a lake view room and our room was on the 3rd floor facing the lake but could only see about 1/3rd of the lake as the building in front blocked out the rest. I’m sure the view was better on the higher floors. The room was great and we loved our stay but was disappointed in the obstructed view.

We weren’t advised of the obstructed view or construction prior to our arrival or at check in, had we have known we would have booked elsewhere or chosen a different room type.

Disappointing for such a high end property, but not horrible. Good staff and a clean room... but common areas were a little shabby. The decor is dated and dark. Breakfast was decent, lunch was not great and very pricey. Biggest complaints were barely functional wifi that was constantly dropping (reported it early on but no resolution and clearly a recurring issue for them) so you couldn't even read the news on your mobile let alone streaming to tv (non existent) and loud heating and cooling units could disrupt sleep. If you have any mobility issues, don't book here... Incredibly steep entry. Next time I'll book somewhere else but I wasn't completely uncomfortable.

The fireplace in the lobby is irresistible, and the couches and interior decor are modern but cosy (the fireplace was what drew me to pick St Moritz and it didn’t disappoint).
Loved the room which was more spacious than expected with a super comfy king bed and large shower.
The hotel is very environmentally conscious so don't expect slippers or disposable milk pods (you have to request it from reception). There is a complimentary tote bag for guests, which is a nice touch. I also liked the incentive to provide dining vouchers at the hotel restaurant, Lombardi, if guests choose to forgo having their room serviced.
Lombardi boasts a breathtaking view of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables.
A wonderful hotel.

The hotel was okay. I stayed in different (exceptional) hotel in the area a week earlier and wish I would have gone back there. This one was just okay, it’s more of a standard hotel - almost like a Holiday Inn feeling. Nothing extra or special about it. The price at the previous hotel was not that different and leaps and bounds above in setting and amenities.

Good hotel, in need of improvement

The hotel is beautiful and has a great location near the town center and a great view of the lake. The staff always tried their best to provide the best service.

Some issues, however:
- The room cleaning could have been done better. We would constantly find trash or misplaced things.
- For some reason, the cleaning staff would leave vacuum cleaners on the halls of the hotel, which became risky obstacle courses.
- Finally, I don't know if it was a city-wide issue, but tap water was unsafe to drink, and we had to boil it daily. The cleaning staff never refilled the kettle or provided clean water in the room, which was a nuisance.

It didn't quite give 5 star vibes (closer to 4). The rooms didnt have power points on the bed side tables without having to unplug items which is always a pet peeve of mine if hotels (particularly 5 star) are not allowing for.
We also had an issue with the vouchers given in lieu of room service which explicitly state \"for use at any time\" but when we tried to redeem for a drink during happy hour, we were told they were not able to be used during happy hour. All in all though, it was a pleasant stay and we may consider staying again.
