It was an average hotel. Nothing special other then free breakfast for everyone. Nothing in the room besides the bed, bathroom and a tv. Usually in hotels you're provided with an iron, fridge, tea and coffee station. But there was nothing.

Good place for business stay
Very nice place to stay, I was attending a show at the Messe. Cabs out front always, also good tram access nearby. Belsenplatz is a great dining area a couple of stops away from Am Seestern. Be aware that on the way back at night you will have to get off at Prinzenalle, so a few minutes extra walk, but very pleasant. Breakfast is not magnificent, but very good...clean and modern rooms, very helpful staff

H2 Hotels are newer properties in Germany- the H2 Seestern has a very new feel, spacious common area (dining and lobby) and easy parking. Rooms are tight, and not much in the way of amenities; however, the room was clean, bed was good quality, and the AC was welcome. Only real complaint was lack of power outlets- and what was there was inconvenient to access. For the modern era of smart phones, pads, earphones, Smart watches, etc - lack of easily accessible power points is a major failure in a hotel room.

Room kept warm by air conditioning that hardly worked, seemingly by design. I only wanted my room to be the same temperature as the lobby but was always very warm, making it hard to sleep. Furniture in room very awkward; not able to do anything other than sit on bed. Shower very leaky with drain clogged in final days. Key card for room door stopped working due to battery issue that required prolonged maintenance episode to fix. Not happy about my stay there and unclear how why it has such a high rating.

Visited for an exhibition so pricing was exorbitant for what the hotel was. At 180 Euros a night not having bedside tables to rest a drink or your phone on, a safe or even a bottle of water or kettle in the room is poor. The safe issue became more of a problem when room service left the room open after having cleaned the room leaving belongings easily accessable for anybody passing by the room for the entire day.
Hotel restaurant was very very basic and they didn't even have fries to go with their burgers.
All in all if you just need a bed and a shower for the night, totally fine when cost is non exhibition pricing. If you want to use the hotel during an exhibition, just be aware that there is no table in your room so you can't sit properly to write reports or similar.

Very good stay for decent peice in Dusseldorf
It was a great stay, hotel seems brand new, breakfast was good enough, and staff super helpful and friendly. Sadly there was a group of teenagers (football players), which kept leaving their gear outside in the halls and the whole hall would stink. Staff should have advise them to either take it somewhere or keep inside their room, but other than that it was a pleasant stay.
I was actually impressed that the soundproof of the rooms are impeccable, since there were 4 of these boys just next door, and I couldn't hear them at all.
