I stayed at Sun Rock for 3 nights and 4 days, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The highlight of my stay was definitely watching the sunset right from the front of my room—it was simply perfect. The hotel is incredibly quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. If you are looking for a tranquil getaway with stunning views, I highly recommend this hotel!

We had an excellent stay at the Sun Rocks Hotel. The views were stunning and the location was perfect, small friendly but with lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance and still maintaining that authentic Greek feel. The staff were amazing ! They went over and above to help you and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return, only slight downside was the number of steps to get to the main path, however after a couple of days you do get use to it.

Everything about this property is first class. We had a cave room, that was just beautiful! Breakfast in our room or at the resturant was lovely. Toiletries, coffee and bottled water met our needs perfectly.

The entire staff was pleasant, engaged and helpful.

I think the location, between Fira and Oia in Firostefani is perfect. You are right on the pathway for the Fira/Oia hike. Resturants are right around the corner. Sunset views are beautiful - there is no need to leave your private patio.

I find it hard to find something that needs improvement! To top it all off, after a brief conversation with the owners - a bottle of prosecco showed up in our room, which we enjoyed our last night.

Fantastic property. Best view we’ve ever had anywhere else in the world. Wonderful inclusive breakfast made to order each day brought to our outside patio, again with that view!
Check in however was a disaster. We drive a rental car and parked it for free conveniently across the entrance. But there were practically no signs for Sun Rocks. There are many, many, many, many stairs. We found a reception but no one was there. No one answered our phone call, etc. Bottom line: be sure to contact the hotel before and as you arrive to meet you on the top road, particularly if you are not using their taxi service.
Otherwise a phenomenal hotel!

This was such a great place to stay! The staff was incredibly helpful and they served a great breakfast every single morning! We had the room with the pool that overlooks the ocean and loved it, although the temperature could have been more warm for the days that were a little more on the cooler side, and evenings. The main pool was perfect on the hot days and we enjoyed laying there having cocktails. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend it. The property offers a stunning, direct view of the caldera, and our room was comfortable and pleasant. We also appreciated the small, warm shared pool. A major highlight was the included breakfast, which was exceptional and provided fantastic value.
There were, however, a few minor operational and maintenance oversights. We inquired several times about late checkout options, but the staff never got back to us with an answer. Inside the room, the shower extractor fan was not functioning - leading to noticeable condensation and the TV didn't work. In fairness, we didn't report these specific issues during our stay, so they might have been quick fixes, but you would hope these would be proactively identified. Additionally, one of the towels provided had visible stains so we weren’t comfortable using it.
Despite these minor concerns , the exceptional views, comfortable room and amazing breakfast made for a great trip.

They were in the process of renovations, and the new changes were wonderful. The breakfast each morning was delicious! Staff very friendly and helpful. One area that could be improved - the ventilation in the rooms. Very high humidity and you couldn't leave the windows open because there were no screens and the bugs would come in.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The view is priceless. It has ruined me for other hotels that can't offer the beauty right outside your door. We were able to secure transportation to and from the airport through the hotel, which was actually really helpful and worth it. The rooms are simple, but comfortable. There are shops, restaurants, gelato shops, and so much more right next to the hotel. Fira is a 15 minute walk and totally worth strolling after 7, when it gets cooler in the evening.

The hotel is easily accessible from Firostefani's main square and with just a few steps from the road. The view is breathtaking over the caldera, Sakros rock, Imerovigli, and Fira. The staff are friendly and welcomimg. A really good and fresh breakfast is provided. It really sets you up for the day. My stay there was great.

The property is small. They have less than 10 rooms, so book well in advance. They have just one jacuzzi on the balcony to share among the guests. The balcony has wonderful views of the sea, the cruise ships and the Skaros Rock. I love the hotel location. It is quite from foot traffic but yet centrally located between Imerovigli and Fira. Fira is where we did most of the shopping and eating and that’s only 15-20 minutes of walk. Hotel serves breakfast every morning right there on the balcony so you can enjoy the amazing views. The staff are super friendly. Oh, just a few minutes walk from the hotel, our favorite restaurant was Vanilia with great views and best prices.

Amazing hotel with a very friendly staff. The manager Nek is very nice and available all the time. The view is just magical. We had the best sunset view from the jacuzzi.
The hotel is very accessible. A parking is right next to the entrance of the village. You have all the nice restaurants outside the hotel and still it is very quiet. We’ll definitely come back here. The area is great without feeling the crowd.

This place is a real gem! If you're looking for an amazing view, including a sunset view from your own room instead of an overcrowded spot in Oia, this is it! We had an incredible time at this location, which is conveniently situated right next to the center (within walking distance) and connected to a beautiful walking street filled with restaurants and cafes. It really doesn't get any better than this. This has to be one of our most memorable stays anywhere in the world, if not the most memorable. The friendly and helpful staff, the amenities including a hot tub, the lovely modern yet aesthetically pleasing room and bathroom interior, the spa bath, and the cute little breakfast spread—everything was just great! Highly recommended if you're in Santorini. Do not miss it if it's available.

Overall, it was a great stay; fantastic views/sunset to die for, clean, comfortable and functional room, and breakfast! minimalistic but nice enough to get us through the morning.
But I couldn't rate it Fantastic as there were two issues one of which was a health and safety issue; the pull out single bed had a sticking out metal bits on the bottom end. My son and I both bumped into it and got skins off the shin, which was very painful and unsightly for my shorts day. Disappointing! Another one was the toilet flush button was loose on the wall which caused inconvenience each time we had to go to the toilet

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at The Sunset Hotel in mid-May 2023. The view from the hotel verandah/balcony is utterly astounding. The best breakfast with a view ever! And the breakfast that is included is amazing in terms of quality and quantity - you won't need lunch! Usually I don't want to stay at the hotel - I want to get out and about. But the view at this hotel was so amazing it was hard to want to go anywhere else! The room was clean and comfortable and suited our needs and I would definitely choose Firostefani as the perfect location on Santorini rather than anywhere else. Easy walking distance to Thira but SO much quieter. Highly recommended.

The hotel did not refund us for the night we did not stay. Very disappointed, that it was not our fault, but yet we had to pay. These things should have been considered by the hotel.

First the good things -
1) Wonderful housekeeping staff , very polite and accommodating. If it wasn’t for them I would have rated this place a 2

1) they told us toilet paper doesn’t work for our plumbing so clean and throw in the small trash can . This sounded filthy to us so we used water but there was no setup for that so we did bottles and filled from tub . Just crazy

4) useless lights from devices inside the room , could easily be covered up
5) no bar , no restaurant and no music to make a pleasurable experience sitting on patio
6) useless front office staff . Never picked up phone and no good advice on where to go and what to do .
7) no drinking water do we bought our own . Not that big of a deal since water is cheap in Greece .
8) same breakfast everday. Zero variety . Absolute zero variety and below average taste.

The view at Sunset Hotel is simply spectacular-- and the outdoor areas at the property are a wonderful place to enjoy the sunset. The folks at Sunset Hotel, especially Nic and Yiota, were amazingly kind and helpful-- they made great arrangements and suggestions for restaurants, tours and transportation. The property is spotless and meticulously maintained thanks to the couple that work the daytime shift. We've stayed in places with bigger rooms and more amenities, but no place has better views or nicer staff than Sunset Hotel!

The view from the balcony and the room window was amazing, towards the sunset. The room was really pleasant and comfortable. It was eqquipped with an air-conditioner, a fridge, a television and a hair drier as well as a wardrobe. There was also a place to hang clothes right outside the room and the cleaning was exceptional. Only the wifi was a little unstable at times. The breakfast included was rich and filling, with considerable variety given the pandemic circumstances. The manager and staff were really helpfull and nice, willing and able to help with even specific coffee preferances for breakfast.

Sunset Hotel was a great place to stay during our short trip to Santorini. Its location in Firostefani was quiet yet still within a 10-15 minute walk to bustling Fira. The room was spacious and comfortable. The caldera view from the outdoor shared veranda was great at sunset. Breakfast was a nice touch in the morning with personal service and plenty to fill you up. Very recommended!

Minus - One of the beds had two folding legs which were coming out of the bed were very dangerous and hazardous to anyone walk close to it. My leg is still hurting due to the bruises caused by it. This iron bed must be removed from the room. Also, the bathroom had a bad smell.

I chose this hotel for the unobstructed view of the Caldera, which we enjoyed from the windows of our room, the seating area outside our door, the shared patio area, and the breakfast area. The location was close to everything but very quiet. I cannot say enough about how great the staff were at the hotel. They were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The daily breakfast was amazing and kept us fed until dinner. We loved it there and would stay again if we were to return to Santorini.

Great experience!! Highly recommend. Hot tub was broken part of our stay which was a bummer, but it seemed like a fluke. Great location and very helpful staff. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we ever go back to Santorini. Also- AMAZING BREAKFAST

Great Views

My wife and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon. As one of the more affordable hotels on Santorini (with a view) this place was worth every single cent. You wake up to a view of the center of the coastline and caldera, you eat breakfast with a view, and you can relax in the hot tub with a view. Even better there’s plenty of excellent restaurants surrounding the hotel.

Additionally, all of the staff were patient and very kind, especially the housekeeping staff who also make your breakfast as you order it. Don’t underestimate how great your stay will be here. It’s worth it.

A Little Gem

Amazing location. High up so had clear views in each direction of the whole Cadera. Spectacular. Less steps than most . Very relaxed and relaxing atmosphere. Nik and his staff were very welcoming and helpful. We saw many hotels boasting ‘best location on the island’. Being nosey, we checked a few out. None were as good as this little gem. Would definitely return to Sunset Hotel

Perfect Stay

It was my first time in Fira, and the Sunset Hotel was the best place for me. It is minutes away from all the action, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet, and the gorgeous view.

I think I'm mostly writing this review because of the hospitality of the staff. The staff were amazing and I witnessed them go above and beyond their guests, myself included.

Speaking of above and beyond... my advice for any traveler would be to not pack too many bags because the hotel doesn't have a bellhop [to carry your luggage from the main road to the hotel]. However, the woman at the desk (I forgot her name) was determined to help me carry my luggage. I am so grateful for her, especially because was so tiny and my suitcase probably weighed more than her.

Other than that, I love my room and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Definitely would recommend again.
