We were placed in a very noisy part of the hotel far away from the pool and there was disco music most of the night. Next the breakfast was less than adequate. No choices just a tray of food . The pool was marginal . We paid too dollar for a marginal hotel . Too many steps between breakfast and room and pool. I would not recommend this hotel

We highly recommend The Mill House for several reasons!
The staff is AMAZING and very friendly Kelly exceeded our expectations by offering us a night in the room with a jacuzzi, which was wonderful, we were celebrating my birthday and my husband, with Kelly's incredible help, managed to surprise me, she also gave us information about the island. a kind and strong gentleman whose name I don't remember and I am so sorry was the one who carried our heavy luggage up the stairs to our beautiful room for 6 nights. The maids did an excellent job of keeping our room very clean. our delicious breakfast every morning in the west-facing breakfast bar with the most incredible views! The sunset from our room was stunning! again the kind and strong gentleman brought our heavy bags up the stairs!
We loved staying at this hotel and will stay here again!

Loved the fact we stayed in the studio apartments close to the top walkway straight out to the shops and restaurants, however they were 100 steps down to pool. It can get a bit noisy with the bar up above with chairs being moved around constantly morning and night but it wasn't often we were in bed before midnight anyway. Staff were BRILLIANT and so helpful & friendly. Would definitely stay there again if we go back to Santorini.

It was an amazing experiencing staying in this magnidicent hotel with the perfect view. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, the breakfast with that fascinating view was wonderful. I highly recommend this place, just be sure to inform the crew in order to help you with your luggages because there are a lot of stairs.

Overall it was pleasant since it was our very first time in Santorini. However, please do detailed research into properties. Many of the hotels state 4 stars and are definitely not 4 stars! The honeymoon apartment was very spacious so that was a plus. However tv didn’t work 2 days straight, and when it did, there was nothing to watch but 4 working channels. The breakfast included is not worth it… walk down to Galini, pay for breakfast but at least it’s worth it. Pool is tiny and only 4 lounge chairs. The property definitely needs to invest into an upgrade. Santorini is a hot tourist spot, you can’t rate yourself a 4 star and be barely a 3 star.

This is a bijou boutique hotel with amazing views of the Caldera. The room was small but had everything you needed and we had a lovely terrace with sun loungers and a table and chairs where we had our breakfast every morning.
The breakfast you have to order from the pool bar/hatch every morning and is plentiful but little variety. There are no other facilities available such as a restaurant within the hotel but once you climb to the street there are plenty of bars and restaurants. It is a 15 minute stroll/walk along a lovely coastal path to Thira where you have many shops bars and restaurants to choose from. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and friendly and I would recommend this hotel for a lovely relaxing stay.

GORGEOUS spot with dining and shopping steps away from the suites. Staff went BEYOND with service and kindness. Room was perfect, perfect temperature, great housekeeping services, and well-appointed. The breakfast served right outside the door next to our private hot tub was a bonus! We WILL be back to Santorini, and we absolutely would stay at Mill Houses again.

This is definitely a nice spot to be in… the view is awesome and the hotel is close to everything…but that is all. The room is not up to date, shower drain is clogged, so disappointing. The breakfast was ok but served by a super nice person and kind. The others personal was not friendly nor really helpful. One had even difficulty to understand simple English words like rose wine … not impressed

This review is based on a 1 bedroom suite with jet spa. My partner and I stayed in a suite for two nights with another couple. The suite was very clean and the staff was amazing, however the suite itself is very outdated. There was a curtain separating the bedroom from the two twin size beds in the living room. The bathroom door was so old and outdated that it wouldn’t close and the shower head was hand held. We were initially very excited about the pool and the jet tub however the pool was small snd they only allowed 2 people in it at a time and the tub looked old. Despite all this the service was great, we got to enjoy great views and breakfast on the patio. Would still recommend it but keep in mind that it is not a luxurious unit.

The view is amazing! The hotel is walking distance from Thira downtown.
Beware that there is a lot of steps, so if you have difficulties with walking its not your choice.
The hotel staff takes your breakfest to your room, which you can eat private enjoying the breahtaking view. Recommend!!!

Overall a disappointing experience.

The pictures of the hotel don't represent the once online. Pictures online are probably 5-10 years old and the hotel since then has not done much to keep up the maintenance. Bathroom wooden tops are all quilted up and some of the hot tubs have seen better days.

Most disappointing was the breakfast. The hotel used the Corona Virus as an excuse to cut corners on the quality of breakfast. Everything was served in plastic boxes resulting in stale scrambled eggs and more rubbish than a Mcdonald's meal. Even after requesting a glass, I was provided with the excuse it was not COVID save, while clearly the staff was too lazy to wash the glasses.

Housekeeping was introduced as 'optional and on request', but even after requesting it 3 times during our stay, bedding sheets were not swapped.

And late check-out was also not possible \"due to Covid-19\" - but room was cleaned within 60min and stayed empty from 12:00 - 17:00 afterwards.

I beleive these are challanging times for everyone and I appreciate that the hotel is doing extra steps to prevent the spread of the virus. But in this example the main motivation looked more like cutting corners and savings costs instead of stop spreading the virus.

Pro: The view is spectacular, Area

Con: Breakfast, Service, Housekeeping, Overall Exprience.

There are plenty of hotels and suites next to this one who do great service.

We would not come back

I Fantastic location, easy access to Thira and all points north. Views over the caldera are to die for. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. Lots of care and attention taken to keep the property, and all fixtures and fittings clean, washed down and any potential viral exposure eliminated. Easy access to cafe bars and restaurants in Firostefani. Don’t pay any attention to the reviews talking about excessive number of steps down to reception and the pool come loungers area. Perfectly manageable - good exercise. Room was a bit dated but fine for me. I had 111 below the Mylos bar windmill which happened to be shut. Probably a bit noisy in 111-113 if that restaurant is open but it wasn’t. So nice and peaceful for my stay. Comfortable double bed, separate single out me up and a table to sit at. Fridge for your cool drinks. Not a massive bathroom but perfectly adequate for me.

Very nice hotel with super helpful staff. They offered us a welcome drink while we waited for our room to be prepared. The room was large, clean and comfy. The bathroom however, was quite small and cramped, the wood countertop was a bit mouldy, and the hot water was limited. The hot tub was nice, but could stand to be several degrees warmer, especially in the colder winter months. Breakfast served on the terrace was a lovely start to the day, and the views are fantastic. And you’ll get a great cardio workout in climbing those stairs a few times daily! Overall a decent stay in Santorini.

The views were stunning (which any other hotel has it). The staff was very nice. I booked 5 days for room 107 knowing that they have a hot tub on the terrace. I was disappointed because the hot tub was filthy, not cleaned, and obviously I did not use it.

This facility needs a lot of improvement. I mean for a 5 stars hotel, charging 200 and some euro a night, they need a lot of work to do. My suite (room 107) smelled heavily bleach and chemicals- maybe after 2-3 days the smell went away. It was so much humidity that moisture was running down the walls- I asked for a dehumidifier and I got one.

The draining from the shower is very slowly, the hot water is gone after 3 minutes, the WiFi is so poor (don’t tell me you cannot afford a router here and there since you ask me for 220 euros a night). What else? The TV doesn’t t work, the breakfast was not impressive (cheap).

Overall, I made a poor choice with this hotel because I didn’t bother to read the reviews. Ahhh, by the way the pictures advertised on Expedia are far from reality. The 5 star hotel in actuality is 2.7 star hotel. I was disappointed because the reason I spent around $3,000 was to be at this hotel, look at the views and sit in the hot tub. It didn’t happen because the hot tub was dirty and not attractive. I looked around at some other rooms and other hot tubs in this hotel- they were outdated and filthy. Sad.

I could have gone to any other place in this world. It was a waste of my money. Too expensive

The Hotel is in a good location. It has a small pool and the staff are quite cheerful and always ready to help. We enjoyed meeting all of them. The hotel is specifically NOT a 4 star hotel. It is maybe a good 3 star hotel. The photographer should win an award because the photos are the Hotel, they are just done in a way that isn’t representative of the actual hotel and its amenities.

Mill houses - not comfortable!

The unit we stayed in was so uncomfortable it was not worth the price. You could only use it for sleeping. No place for bags or much else. The bed was up a flight of narrow stairs to a place just big enough for the mattress. Downstairs there was no table to sit at just a couch or possible other bed. It was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

When we arrived to the property, we had to carry our 50 pound luggage and heavy backpack down several flights of stairs. When we got to the check in desk, we were welcomed with a “why didn’t you call us to carry your luggage down. You should have told us you were here.” We informed staff that we do not have cell phone service outside the us and that we didn’t know to inform them. After checking in we got to our room. The room was small with a hand held shower that was waist high. The shower resembled a dog was station. The air conditioner was not working so we called the attendant. They arrived quickly and fixed it. Also the WiFi did not work in the room. It can be used out by the pool. The pictures on the website were deceiving. They looked bright and airy but were dark and secluded. The night time staff was very helpful. The day time staff reserved dinner for us at the wrong restaurant in Oia. Overall the view was amazing but accommodations were poor. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to others. Wish I didn’t use my Expedia points towards this one!

Upon arrival Chrissi met us and was beyond FABULOUS!!!!!! Her colleagues carried all our luggage(there was a lot) down the many many stairs to a breathtaking hotel. The view is indescribable. We sat outside and were provided with sparkling wine and took in the view, while checking in. Given the number of days we were staying, Chrissi suggested the must see’s of the island. We were interested in a catamaran tour, which she arranged. Heading out it was grey and overcast until the sky opened up to a breathtaking sunset with sprinkling sky creating a full rainbow, a view I will not soon forget.
Cannot day enough about this fabulous find in paradise!

The service at Mill Houses Elegant Suites was excellent. The view from our room was excellent. Our room didn’t necessarily look like the pictures on the Expedia website; however, it was adequate. In general, the room was quite small and had virtually useless wifi. To use the wifi, you needed to be sitting outside the room on the veranda. Breakfast was included which was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t see an included breakfast anywhere on the Expedia website for this hotel. I would stay here again do to the location and view this hotel offers.

The property was beautiful, my Caldera room had an amazing view of the sea. The bed was comfortable, I enjoyed the mini-kitchen and using the fridge, the room had a nice wardrobe and safe. Although some aspects of the bathroom were rusted, the room itself was lovely. The breakfast was served given time slots every morning for free. The staff was alright, service could be better, but they do help with luggage and the millions of steps you have to take to get to the hotel. One complaint is that my room was directly below the reception desk, so I could hear chairs moving and loud chatter at night. Another issue is that I had spots on my neck that worsened every night, could possibly be a reaction but others have said it would be bed bugs. Otherwise, the location was stunning and I had a great time in Firostefani overall.

Very nice place with amazing view. Location is just 10 min walk to the center and i think one of the best in Island as you can see all beauty just from your room window. Tasty breakfast and you have your own terrace to sit and grab vine and enjoy the Caldera view. Great for couples, calm and romantic. Room is big with soft bedsheets.
The only my TV wasn't work at all, and once I call to ask, lady told me its because of weather and no-one comes to check for it. Water in bath was warm but not hot.
Overall it is a good stay and I enjoyed it.

This is an older cave hotel with all the charm you expect. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. We stayed in room 107 which had a jacuzzi tub and the view was amazing. I would love to see a hot option on the breakfast menu but it wouldn’t stop me from staying again and again.

Average hotel- expected more.

The hotel is a lovely one that we found in Lonely Planet. That being said it does seem that the upkeep has fallen behind. The sheets appear to be Ikea not the luxurious sheets described in our guidebook and the bathroom toiletries were not Bulgari either- also written in our guide book. In the first room we stayed- the honeymoon suite, two lights were out and the light bulbs had to replaced (which the hotel did right away) in the second room we stayed in- the traditional suite had another light that was out. The bathroom curtain needed to be replaced as it had turned yellow/pink.The bedroom tv was not working (despite attempts by hotel to fix it). The safe was also not working until they came to fix it. For the price being charged I expected a lot more from the hotel. They also were not able to help us with bags for our early departure at 7:30 as they said their office only opens at 8 leaving my poor husband to take the heavy luggage up all the stairs to the taxi (which charges $30 Euro for a 10 minute ride to the airport. I would recommend that the breakfast that is included have a more Greek flair to it- I was looking forward to a big block of feta, olives and yogurt (the last of which I had each morning). The hot tub that was in our honeymoon suite was also too cold to use - could benefit from an actual hot tub cover. The hotel staff are pleasant to deal with and the location is great.

This hotel is disappointing, it was nothing like the website claimed it to be, it was dated and lacked simple things like a kettle, when we asked for one they brought one down but it was broken, I requested another and they sent a facilities repairman who tried for 30 mins to fix it while IN OUR ROOM while my wife was in bed, he then left and returned with a smal teapot of hot water so we had no in room tea or coffee making facilities. There was no iron and when we asked for one they said they would bring one, and I’m still waiting. The breakfast was awful, cold everything even the boiled egg. Compared to the other hotels we have stayed at around Greece for much less money, this one was the worst yet it’s in the best place? I think their only saving grace is the wonderful man who carries your bags for you up and down the 100 stairs, he is an absolute gem. And of course the views, but then again everywhere in Santorini has the view so think twice before booking this particular hotel.

Beautiful location, with a few suprises

The view from this property is very beautiful over the caldera. The room was adequate, but in booking you do not know if you will get a one story property or if your bed \"platform\" will be up a flight of winding stairs, as was ours. We learned to love it, but it was unexpected. The photos of the property look better and more polished that the actual property. You should also know you travel down 136 steps to get to this property, and up 136 steps whenever you want to go for a stroll. The staff carried the heavy bags graciously both ways. Breakfast was simple but adequate.

A Sad Story in Santorini

Nice location and property. Beautiful views. Avoid room 109. No chairs, solar panels hung wrong so NO PRIVACY. People walking by can see directly inside and they did. Not a room for a honeymoon couple; cut the mood. Very Small room; bed accessed from only one side, no luggage rack, no shower curtain. On the 3rd day the Manager offered a nicer room but NO VIEW. No offer of any compensation or upgrade. A disappointing experience. The picture of our room was much different from reality. $1600 for 5 nights? Really? Shameful!

Room was not as advertised or booked... away from main hotel and amenities. Not advised that would be the case. Should be disclosed on Expedia website so that everyone is made aware of the rooms away from the hotel. Many steps to get to main reception.

Should’ve been told prior to ordering the room that you have an excess amount of steps to walk down to go to reception and the 4 person pool. And the all those steps back up. I have asthma and I was not able to handle it. Told this to one of the workers and asked if we could have breakfast by the room they said no you have to come down and go back up. In the paperwork in the room it says you can have your breakfast delivered to the room.

The view was outstanding - just what you expect from the postcards of the Caldera. Do not stay here if you don't like stairs though - going down is easy but there about 100 stairs going up! !

Gorgeous view! Great breakfast, service really nice and accomodating. Was alittle hard to find at first but locals helped out, alot of steps to get there but worth it for the view and central to places. Room was great but bathroom needs updating and abit too small.

Very nice view. A nice hotel to stay not for too long because it has no restaurant and the pool is tiny but the breakfast is good and the rooms had everything you may need. If you want to stay at this hotel you should travel light. No suitcases because transportation leaves you in the main street and you have to walk for a long path to get there and the whole journey is about ups and downs so it is better to go only with backpacks and confortable shoes.

Lovely place, great location

We were very happy with our choice of Mill House Elegant Suites for our stay in Santorini. We loved being in Firostefani, outside of the crowds in Fira, but close enough to walk. We used the bus to go to Oia and Akrotiri, and the bus stop was just a couple of minutes away. It was so nice to have breakfast every morning on our patio, looking out at the Caldera, cooling off in the pool in the late afternoon, and watching the sunset. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind!

Wonderful staff Room 112

During our 10 days in Greece this was the least extravagant hotel but it was a great location, clean and the staff was very accommodating. Very handy to shopping and restaurants. The parking worked out for us as well (one block away from our room).
Also note that many of the rooms have several stairs to climb... so if you have bad knees let them know so they can put you at the top of the hill. Also note some of the rooms are small or have under 6\" doorways.

Surprised this place has such high ratings, the hotel is a little outdated. Our kitchenette had ants after the first night, luckily they seemed to disappear after that. Additionally, limited hot water which I read in other reviews. The thing that struck me as surprising is the hotel doesn’t provide water. They give you one free bottle and then you have to purchase water from the supermarket in town, very strange. It served its purpose for a place to sleep but I would go to this place expecting any form of luxury.

the hotel is located in Firostefani, which is easy to access to Fira ( about 15 min walk)
You can have an excellent view of Santorini.

The hotel is not located in the main street so that you need to walk 50-60 steps downward to arrive the hotel. and when you are going up, it may not be easy when you are with your baggage.

Make sure to contact the hotel before you arrive, I don't think you can locate the hotel easily. if possible, ask them to provide a transfer from port/airport, it will save your time to find the hotel

The View is Breathtaking.

I looked up a lot of hotels in Greece before i go to the Mill houses and this one caught my attention because of the view. i loved their breakfast and Fira is about 10 minutes away! Rent a quad and drive around you will have a lot of fun.
Everything was impeccable. You won’t stop taking pictures. I never write reviews EVER but for this hotel i had to. Get the junior suite it’s so worth it.

Tatiana & Eleftheria on the front desk are commendable in helping plan our activities each day- from coordinating for our day cruise activity, arranging for transportation from the villa to Pyrgos and also pick up from villa to the airport on a very early flight. Andres, is also very attentive to our needs- excellent service every breakfast, offering us water to hydrate on a very warm day, and even waking up at 5 am for our very early flight to prepare coffee & to help us carry our luggage up the stairs to the taxi waiting point. Our room is cleaned & made fresh everyday by the staff. Highly recommendable place to stay while in Santorini. Perfect view & excellent experience!

Wonderful Hotel with Amazing Views

Mill Houses Elegant Suites was perfect for us while we stayed in Santorini. It is located in Firostefani, which is in walking distance (10-15 mins) to the capital, Fira. Upon arriving to the property, Andreas met us at our car on the street and carried our bags for us because there were so many steps. He led us to the receptionists desk, where we were greeted very warmly. We had a studio room with the most amazing view. Every morning Andreas brought breakfast to our room or terrace, whichever we chose, and he was very helpful with any and everything else we needed. There were a few stray cats around the property, but they were harmless. The hotel is close to lots of restaurants and shops, all with friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at Mill Houses again, if ever in Santorini.

Great hotel

A lovely hotel in a great location on the outskirts of Thira. Great views and fantastic staff. We stayed in two of the studios which were a little dated and not quite as glam as the photos, but still very comfortable rooms. We had a nice patio area at the front of our room but at night time there was some noise from the bar/restaurant behind/above. Breakfast was amazing but I didn’t see the restaurant in the photos. There breakfast seating area outside was beautiful though. Would have been nice to have some tea and coffee provided in the rooms, but there was a kettle/fridge etc so we just bought our own. Could not fault the staff. They were so nice.

We really appreciated the more quiet area, with still having close access to travel the island (via bus or staff quickly arranging a taxi). Tatiana was especially helpful in her recommendations of where to eat in the area and in Oia! Loved the breakfast on the patio too :)

The Mill House in Santorini

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and in a prime location. The views are expectacular, just like you see in magazines and television. The room was not huge, but not small, but had a nice big bed, as well as a day bed, and a mini kitchen. The stand up shower was great, with nice shower head and pressure. Breakfast was included and for us, it was perfect. Hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, toast, and the best orange juice ever!! The only thing I have to mention, you have to do a lot of step climbing, as for this hotel is located on a cliff, and its a lot of stairs up and down, and it can take a toll. Plus we went off season (cheaper) and there was construction on site, since its the only time they can do any repairs or modifications, but it didn't bother us one bit.....we were really in heaven. The hotel was very accommodating and even suggested the best option which is to rent a car, which is truly the best thing to do. Overall, it was fantastic and amazing and would highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience.

Beautiful Santorini Blues

I love everything about The Mill Houses Hotel. The view is spectacular. It does't get better than that. Your seating on the terrace facing the Caldera surrounded by the islands and the bluer aquamarine blue of the sea. The the staff and the service they gave us was the best. They bring your breakfast to your room or eat it at the terrace. We asked them to make all our restaurants reservations and more and always did it with a smile. Tatiana and Andre are the best. They made us feel at home and pampered. If we go back to Santorini that's where we are staying. Our only regret is that we made reservations for two days only. We give The Mill Houses Hotel a big 10.

Beautiful ocean view from our room, good location.

Had a fantastic stay with my wife at the Mill House, view from our room is beautiful and locations is great and close to Fira. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful.

BTW, If you are a cat lover like us there are plenty of cats at the hotel to entertain you. =)

Nice cosy hotel with great view

First time to Santorini..the steps to and fro most hotels there may be a tough thing to do, but it’s worth it. The butler service to prepare your breakfast everyday according to your preferred time, and helping you with the luggage is hard work yet no complaints, always smiling attitude makes our stay wonderful!

Great place. Service was amazing. They picked up from the airport and had someone waiting to take our bags and show us the way to the hotel. We arrived very early because of our flight so they took our bags and provided some breakfast and coffee by the pool and gave us information about what we could do that day. Only reason I didn’t give it all 5 stars is because I think the rooms could do with a bit of updating and the WiFi is terrible inside the rooms. The bathroom in particular is a bit old. All very functional just doesn’t give off fancy hotel vibes.

Excellent location, Excellent Staff, Perfect View

Our trip was the 2nd week of December, which is low season. We had the island for our-self, very quiet and romantic, without crowds getting in the way to take pictures of the beautiful landscapes. The temperature was a little cold to get in the pool but excellent for walking around the island. The Staff is A+ in so many years traveling we had not received such a warm treatment. The breakfast was very good and they had many options to chose from.
