Lovely hotel with incredible views!

Amazing little hotel!! Very clean and comfortable. Every suite has a view of the water and swimming pool is incredible! What a view! The daily breakfast they bring to your suite is perfect. There's not really \"a lobby\" or staff at your disposal but still available via email or Whatsapp. The rooms are well lit and clean -only 2 comments, I wish there was a full length mirror and the bathroom door needs replacing to a more modern type. Other than that, I highly recommend this place, we had a great time!

The view was stunning and the property was quiet and private. I’m only giving a 4 because of the lack of 24 hr concierge service. You have to coordinate with them and although they are very accommodating, the coordination of schedules is something you may not want to deal with during your vacation. Specially if you are spontaneous with your activities. The breakfast is delicious.

Alta Vista is in a great location, with unique style rooms that fit the entire vibe of Santorini. Everything in Fira was walkable and it’s basically in the center of the island, so when we rented a car it made it super easy to see everything. The actual hotel staff that we interacted with were very friendly, kind, accommodating. They brought breakfast to the room every morning, which was a nice touch. The property is slightly outdated, but nothing that bothered us, though if you’re looking for something super fancy this might not be it for you. We also had an issue at check-in where they overbooked the rooms and we were not able to get into our originally booked suite for the first night. Hotel management claimed that they “sometimes randomly upgrade other guests” and that was the reason our reservation was not what we expected. They did move us into your expected suite for nights 2 of 3, but just a warning that you might not get what you booked! That is the primary reason for 4/5 stars.

I will start by saying that the staff were wonderful and very helpful. They helped arrange transfers and adjusted breakfast times to accommodate our travel schedule. But I would say the physical quality of the accommodation was not up to my expectations based on the price and 4 star rating on hotels.com. I also had an issue with adjusting my reservation before my trip. Hotels.com said they could not reach Alta Vista to change my reservation, and Alta Vista told me when I contacted them that they couldn’t make a change due to my reservation being through hotels.com! Catch 22.

I feel the property needs some TLC in general this is our 2nd visit , 1st was 2019
Heart suite not as chic and 5* as it was in 2019, at best a 3*
First time in 2019 was perfect greeted with prosseco and the heart suite was immaculate.
Champagne breakfast each morning.
This time we were not greeted with anything , taken to the wrong suite and told this was what we had booked , I spent 20 minutes and showed the email confirmation that the passion suite we were being made to accept was the same as the heart . I explained it was not as we had stayed in the heart before and paid this time for the heart !
Eventually we were given keys to the heart suit we had booked !
The beautiful window in the bathroom was being held up with chains , look un property and I can see from past pictures i have the window is the wrong way round now.
Sunbeds were old and would just collapse and we were read the riot act about only using the pool and NOT sitting down in that area as we had our area and that the oool sinners belong to the two other suites .
I note no other person observed these rules during our stay and nothing was said !
Best thing is the two cleaners /breakfast team for sure.
Also security in the evening is poor as the no door gates are ever shut ( all the other hotels around have their gates shut all the time!
Think maybe a change in management but this once chic 5* in every way is now quite poor

The guy that checked me in was so helpful and made my trip easy and fun. He first started by giving me areas of places I could go eat and places I should see. He went above and beyond making phone calls for me, he was extremely helpful and nice. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly would definitely recommend anyone to come here. I am 21 years old I traveled by myself and he helped me get a ATV to ride around the town. The Suite is very quiet and nice. I will be coming back next year as I loved this trip. He also saved my life by providing me with a Plug for my charger as I could not find one on the island Lol!

An amazing property with the best staff. Firostefani during the winter is quiet and most of the cafés and restaurants around are closed, so getting a coffee or food can be difficult during the winter. However, this hotel is a gem which is about 15 mins walk from the main town square of Fira. The breakfast in the hotel was incredible and everything was freshly made in the mornings. The staff were very polite and would address all your concerns with utmost care and importance. We will be coming back to stay here.

Our stay at Alta Vista Suites was our best vacation ever. The location was ideal, the suite was amazing, the included breakfast was fresh made daily and delicious. Manolis and Flora were so welcoming and helpful. I would rate their accommodations a 10 stars out of 5, it was that good. This is a must book location. It was the perfect location to get to Fira and see everything. The view from this place has to be one of the best on the island. We will be back!!!

Alta Vista was great! My husband and I enjoyed the view and how accommodating everyone was. We stayed in the Bebe suite which was right outside the pool. The room was small but perfect for us.
If you cannot walk stairs, this is not the hotel for you. There are many steep stairs. Great location if you are looking for quiet but close to the main downtown Fire area.

The property is in the hillside very hard for my friend to go Dow and go up. The Andre had to Carrie all the suitcase. If you gave to go there no suitcases Ned it very stressful- take a part of learning no much light in the dark for the stair’s. It was good learning.

What a wonderful 3 days my husband and I have spent at Alta Vista! The view is absolutely amazing. The staff was very kind and always ready for us. Breakfast at the balcony (Suite Heart) overlooking the Caldera is always going to be among our sweetest memories. The pool is very nice, despite the cold temperatures of the water. It’s location is close to the trail from Fira to Ía, so it’s a short walk to many restaurants and shopping. I have nothing else to say but thank-you! Thanks to the manager, the nice guy who brought our breakfast everyday (and help us with our luggage) and the very nice and kind woman who prepared our breakfast, cleaning our room, always with a big smile offering what she could help us with. So close to Fira and all the shopping/restaurants but still quiet. Breakfast was an added bonus and was absolutely delicious. I could not have picked a better place for my first night in Santorini. This hotel was a literal dream to stay at! It looks even better in real life, everywhere you look you are met with the most beautiful views in all of Santorini! It was one of those places you didn't want to ever leave. The room itself was so cozy like you were living in a cave. The host was so welcoming and arranged for a porter to help with our bags as it would have been impossible to do it ourselves with how steep it was. Never the less, if I ever go back to Santorini, I will be staying here again!

The hotel have a breathtaking view. But the room and the service was not okey.
The shower turn off the hot water every 30 seconds.
Also the shower pressure was ridiculous. I thought was just a problem and I tried to contact someone at the front desk. There was no one at the reception at 3pm. I’ve sent a message and he said he can’t be there till 6pm to fix the shower. (How you have to wait 3 hours to take a shower?) I asked for champagne glasses after spend a lot money with a bottle and I never got it. I left disappointed.

Worst experience as we had a late checkin at 10 pm and this property is on a cliff with no lighting and there was no in to receive us or check us in. I was with my family and small kids and we were stranded in this new place with no one to help us as all phone numbers listed on the itinerary by Expedia and this hotel were unreachable. We were lucky to find another hotel at that time of night for 4 people and had to pay a premium. Got an apology the next day saying it was a system failure. Never again.

We stayed here for a short couples break and honestly, it must be the best view in Santorini. Absolutely incredible, it’s hard to even believe how beautiful it is. We had the honeymoon sweet, which was very reasonably priced, and the hotel manager (Sakis) was very hospitable to us. The breakfast was lovely and very filling, too.

I would highly recommend this place to couples. The only negative (and this is not their fault) was that we went when it was already a bit cold (November), so we couldn’t really stay in the pool long.

Hope to visit again in the future, perhaps in the warmer months.

We stayed in the love suite which was huge! We were welcomed with a glass of champagne and took in the breathtaking views!
Great location and a short walk to Fira and Imerovigli, but would need a taxi to Oia. As with all of this side of santorini, lots of steps up and down to our suite but some very good restaurants nearby.
They helped arrange for us to get a quad, our transfers, and anything we needed help with.
Breakfast was pre-ordered the night before and was amazing...and had champagne on the menu!
A great stay and we would stay again...infinity pool was perfect and our own outside area was large!

Suite was amazing with an awesome view of the Caldera. Fortunate to see the sunset due to clear skies. The room was clean and bottled water is provided. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Not what it’s cracked up to be

We booked this place under false pretences that it was going to be “luxurious” and “modern” as advertised on their website. This hotel is also incorrectly advertised on Hotels.com as 5 star - it’s advertised elsewhere as 4 star. The view is absolutely stunning however our room was in desperate need of a good clean and maintenance. There was a thick layer of dust in between the wooden bed head, lots of mould on the vanity, loose faucet, rusty fixtures and chipped paint. The toilet doesn’t flush properly (think this is an issue on the whole island) but there was a nasty surprise waiting for us in the toilet bowl from the previous person’s usage. I’m amazed by the great ratings. Perhaps our room wasn’t a fair representation of the other rooms. The hotel could be something special with a little work but we were disappointed. It wasn’t what we expected.

Great View and Relaxing Experience

Santorini is beautiful to stay. Due to off season travel in November, almost everything is closed. Fortunately, we we were provided an online food purchase link Obelix.gr with excellent Greek food and paid for our meals via credit card with free delivery everyday. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Too bad the weather didn’t permit a swim in their great pool. I believe a vacation during warmer season will make this vacation experience much more pleasant. We stay in Love Room which is plenty for a family of four or even five. The room is facing west so you will see the beautiful sunset without any obstruction. If you book around full moon period, you will be able to see the full moon as well. The hotel provided free breakfast during our stay which has a great selection to choose from. We were able to walk from the hotel to Oia via the famous and beautiful trail for 4 hours and returning by taking the bus which only cost 1.8 euro per person.

On arrival, the staff was really nice. They carried our luggage down the steep stairs which we really appreciated! They gave us unlimited free water. The only complaint I have is the shower room smells and that could be because of poor ventilation and humidity. Also I had book a transfer specifically for the morning of departure back the airport because I knew it was going to be so early and I did not want to take a risk in trying to call a taxi. My transfer did not show up so we had to carry our luggage all the way to Fira, I called about 10 transfer and taxi service and finally in Fira one service was able to take us just in time for our flight. It was a very stressful situation for us especially in a foreign country.

We stayed at Alta Vista Suites for 7 nights for our honeymoon and stayed in the honeymoon suite (senses) which was a cave room. What a superb hotel it was and the staff couldn’t do more for you, they really were excellent. Minor point would be that in our particular room only had a mirror in the bathroom, a full length mirror in the bedroom would be really beneficial. Highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again if we went back to Santoroni!

Amazing view of Oia! The honeymoon room is made out of the rock, so you're literally inside a cave, which is awesome!
They provide Champagne upon check-in, they give you a breakfast menu to choose what items you want and will deliver breakfast to you in the morning (you get to choose what time they deliver the food anytime from 0830 to 1130).
The host is at the hotel in the morning like 0700-1200 and then from 4pm-7pm or something like that.

I’m sure during the summer this is a 5 star resort but in the winter with no room service, no 24 hour reception (or even during the whole day) support, no bar, and no hot water it didn’t feel like one to me.

The spot is beautiful and the rooms are nice but there is limited hot water and the drain would flood every time we had a shower.

Santorini famously closes down during the winter and I think we were victims of this. But after arriving on your first night to be told you needed to hike through the rain for 20 mins to get dinner because the concierge at your 5 star resort is going home and there is no night time support is a little harsh.

As an island though it is wonderful and I personally prefer the quieter off season. Some wonderful places still open and you meet great people wherever you go on the island.

Rent a car, explore and make sure you eat before going back to the hotel!

Hotel had a good view of the sunset. We had the honeymoon suite and it was huge. However ours had a very strong bleach smell that lingered for hours so it didn’t feel as nice. They did let us check in early so that was a plus. Overall we had a pretty comfortable stay.

My husband and I who have travelled to many countries before (low & higher budgets) arrived at the Alta Vista suites hotel as our last spot before the end of our honeymoon vacation. We were sadly very disappointed by the hotel amenities. The view was spectacular, but other than that, our \"Suite heart\" room was far from what we expected from a \"5 star hotel\" (maybe for those who do not usually travel). When we are told that in the hotel description there is no mention of a restaurant or bar or any other services for that matter, it is not what we call a 5 star hotel. The room lacked cleanliness and maintenance could use an up keep (broken lamp, towel hooks and chair, poor water pressure, dirty kleenex floating around the pool rocks). Not to mention the breakfast that was very bland (similar to what they serve in Canada's hospitals). The coffee we had tasted like water (by far the worst coffee in Greece) and we were told to choose the loukaniko sausage omelette...but instead got what tasted like an \"Oscar Myer\" hotdog sausage absorbed in oil (see photos). We ended up going for a 35 euros breakfast at Galini cafe which was amazing! I shared my comments in person to the manager, Mr. Sakis, and as he kindly responded, my opinion is less than what everyone else who has reviewed this hotel had to say. Thus, I give this hotel a 3 star, but the view deserves a 5...take it or leave it! You'd be better off taking a day trip and having supper at Onar for the sunse

Quiet and relaxing

A lovely place to stay with amazing views. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Everything you need is a short walk away just have to manage a few steps but that’s the same everywhere. The staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us.

Most amazing view.

I absolutely love the view from this hotel. Our bathroom is so spacious and has the most beautiful view of the city and the ocean. Breakfast was brought to us in the morning. It was such an amazing experience here. It worth every bit of money. I love the pool, but it would be nicer if it was heated. And the place is a bit tricky to find bc there is no sign on the main street. Our taxi drop us off, and we took a long route instead of just walking down the stairs. I wished they have free pick up and drop off from airport. That's the only reason it doesn't feel like 5 star service more like a 4 star.

Absolutely stunning! Cannot speak high enough about our experience here. Gregorios was so helpful to any of our needs.

Our suite and all the facilities are superb! And that pool! Just amazing! The breakfast served on your balcony each morning, superb!

The views from here are truly the best, so much so that tourists make their way down a pathway behind the hotel to capture breathtaking photos of Fira, they come down day and night. But don’t worry, they don’t impose on your privacy in any way.

Amazing hotel. The views from here were the best. We walked around the island and quickly realised our hotel views were the best. Rooms were good size. Ultimate privacy. Pool is nice. Waking up to the breakfast of your choice at the time youve selected on your private patio is an amazing experience. Your close to the airport and tk downtown Fira, we walked everyday.

The hotel staff are very helpful with whatever you need. Would stay here again.

great hotel!

Great hotel with amazing view n sunset. Breakfast served in the room or private terrace is a treat. Only issue is water pressure for the shower and the unavoidable stairs to and from the hotel. Be nice if the TV has some english program.
