My room was very clean and had great amenities as far as appliances. Bed was comfortable. The hallways and entrance area looked like it had not been cleaned in awhile (dirty floors, cobwebs, dirty windows, etc. The parking lot needs resurfaced and trash picked up. The price was good for my room. The lobby seemed clean and in good condition - just the hallways and back entrances looked sketchy. The back door did not seem to lock automatically unless you really pushed on the door. Also, the inside foyer door was not spring hinged correctly and so it banged really loud whenever anyone came in or out which was unfortunately right outside my hotel room door. So that was annoying. I would stay there again because I did like my room for the price.

The property is clean and well maintained- good value for the cost and well located close to I75. Staff is friendly and competent. The breakfast is the most basic I have found at budget hotels like these - nothing bad just very very basic (there was one fruit and a couple of juices besides toast, egg etc - and 24 hours coffee though)

Accessible room was very spacious. Had kitchen wall with minimal but satisfactory kitchen stuff. Fridge has true freezer that can hold whole bag of ice so don't have to go back often ever for ice. A basic room. Good desk space and desk chair. Only one chair other than desk chair and no table for eating at in spite of big open space for it and kitchen wall.

Room was fine, nothing special. There were king sheets on a queen bed, that’s not cool. Thy don’t fit properly. The workmanship in the hotel is pretty shoddy and sloppy, like many newer hotels these days. This is a mediocre hotel, ok for one night. Breakfast was ok, eggs and sausage were good. Half of the toaster didn’t work, so that slowed things down considerably.

Let me start by saying the front desk lady was super nice and very helpful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive ends. I booked my room a week in advance and had already paid, but when I arrived they told me the hotel was overbooked and moved us to their sister property. MainStay is definitely the better of the two, so this was already a disappointment — but we tried to roll with it, thinking maybe it would be an upgrade. We were wrong.

The hallways reeked of weed, like people were smoking nonstop in their rooms. Our room was dirty and absolutely not up to standard. The bed even had these strange metal pieces sticking out all around the frame, just waiting to bruise your shins. The bathtub had what looked like black mold around the ring. For over $300, this was not at all what we expected.

Overall, extremely disappointed to have booked and paid in advance just for our room to be given away and then be sent to a far lower-quality hotel. I would not recommend and definitely will not be staying here again.

Was super optimistic but left disappointed

I had super high hopes for this hotel and picked it based on the rating and spent the extra money, getting a nice hotel for the long stay i had. Everything seemed okay to the naked eye when i walked in. Got all my things unpacked and settled, started to make my dinner and sat doen for the night. Then i noticed the floor. It hasnt been vacuumed. Okay.. not awful. Then i smelled something a little sour. Looking all over. Looked under the bed. And omg. There is SO MUCH garbage and trash. There was also a ton of old grapes scattered every where. Then obviously with food on the ground, there were bugs. Dead bugs. Started cleaning up the gross stuff so there wouldn't be more bugs or smells. Theres also a giant spider web in the corner, floor to the wall. Clearly hasnt been touched in a long time. I let her be. Cleaning up some of the dishes and open the dishwasher.... it doesnt look like anyone has opened that in weeks. The dirty old dishes were covereddddddd in mold. Closed that right up, out of sight, out of mind.
I wanted to complain the next morning and get a new room , but i was unpacked and settled and had to be up and out very early. Luckily, the first morning i was able to get to breakfast and they had everything available. The next morning, there were no eggs or sausage. Ugh. I drink LOTS of coffee. On the weekends, they dont offer breakfast until 7am. I had to leave before then, which is fine, but i think they should still offer coffee to guests.

There was a full sized fridge in the room, I turned on the ice maker and over the next 4 hours, no ice was produced and every so often it would make this awful noise as it tried to get water into the ice maker. The floor in the bathroom looked like it could use a mop. When I checked in, there were two employees, and two people checking in. The second employee looked like she was on break and took a while to ask if I wanted to check in and to help me. Breakfast was included and was sparse, but edible.

This property worked out just fine for our needs as we were in town for a few days to help our daughter with a move and just really needed a place to sleep. All hotels were pretty pricey since it was during Keenland's Spring Meet but the Mainstay Suites was relatively affordable in comparison. The property (combined with Quality Inn) is quite large but very quiet and staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast options are limited so we didn't really take advantage of that other than coffee. However, the dining area is quite large and was very clean. We would definitely stay again when in the area.

Perfect Stay on Way to Eclipse in Indy

We stopped in Lexington from eastern Tennessee in route to Indianapolis got the eclipse. We are traveling with our 30 lb poodle mix. Main Stay was perfect location for our needs. The room had a kitchenette with microwave, 2 burner electric cooktop & full size fridge. We loved the fridge since my dog eats Farmer’s Dog which needs refrigeration & food for our trip, anticipating large crowds in Indy. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable and the room had recently been renovated so it was nice and new and clean. For all these reasons, it was most definitely a 5 star hotel!
