I reserved 2 suites online with balconies, upon check I asked if she could make sure they were close together. I was told in order to do that one room would have to lose the balcony. After we got our rooms they end up being at the complete opposite ends of the hall way.

This hotel is dated. While the room itself has been cosmetically updated (floors, bathrooms are nice) and the hotel offers some of the rooms with balconies which is a very nice perk, the room I stayed in was hotter than Hades and probably needs the HVAC to be updated. I had to run out to Wal-Mart to purchase a fan in order to survive my stay because I did not want to give up my corner balcony because I know the solution I would have been offered was to change rooms which I did not want to do.

Front desk staff was variable. Some were helpful in storing my luggage until my room was ready, but there was one young lady who was not helpful at all and told me that my room had a pool view - when I got to my room, I had a parking lot view instead!

I had a poor experience in the restaurant, the one time I decided to have dinner at the hotel on a Sunday evening, the bartender was apparently the only floor staff they had, so one staff person from the golf course felt bad and said she wouldn't leave her alone and was helping her out along with another man from another department. Service was extremely slow, not something you'd expect from a \"resort\" that charges you a $20 resort fee per night for...nothing? For staying there, I guess. We didn't get anything extra that's for sure, except for inconveniences. Oh, and don't try and be healthy and order the broccolini...I think it was either $6 or $8 for the laughably small portion.

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival to the hotel. Everything has been nicely renovated and staff was very accommodating. I read several negative reviews about the hotel so I was a little apprehensive about staying there. Not sure why there are negative comments. We had no problems with air conditioning and it was 98 degrees. The property was pretty, the pool area was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels, the bar/restaurant was very nice, too. Granted the hotel is over 40 years old but the useable area does not reflect the age of the property. It’s close to the distilleries and other great restaurants. We will definitely return for a long weekend.

The property is amazing as well as the rooms and amenities. Very clean hotel and Breakfast was one of the best I've had all negative reviews of the hotel should be dismissed. Anyone would be happy staying here. The only negative i give it is the front desk could of been more helpful as far as being proactive about a booking mistake but it may be because of a language barrier I think when working at the front desk dealing with Majority Americans fluent English is important.

I absolutely love this hotel and it's location however it was my husband and my 15th anniversary and we wanted to stay for the weekend. The internet was down and we could not stream movies or shows and since it was pouring down rain and storming the entire time we couldn't use the pool or hottub outside so we thought cuddle and watch movies. However when I went to tell a staff member our internet was down as friendly and helpful as she was getting us someone, he was NOT! He came to the room asked us what the issue was we explained he looked at us and said service is spotty in this old place and doesn't work in all the rooms, sorry... then he turned around and walked out!! Said nothing else, not even hey I'm so sorry but or hey maybe we could get you in a room with working internet since we had literally just checked in. I was shocked at how little he cared to help us. So no it wasn't the worst thing in the world by any means but it definitely left an impression on how lazy some of their staff was.

Yes, some the hotel is dated and a little run down in places, but it was clean, quiet, and relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool, spa, and small gym were great. Lots of comfortable places to sit inside and outside. The air conditioning worked well. Until our last night when a conference was starting, we almost had the place to ourselves.

The sliding glass door to the patio in our ground level room needed a good deal of strength to slide across wide enough to barely get a body thru..as if the track was either bent or clogged with? that prevented it from sliding. We’ve stayed in other rooms along this same section of the hotel before and have encountered same thing. The entry door in the back nearest to the pickleball court sits down in a depression at the bottom of steps and is always broken plus the area itself is filthy, as it has been for at least the past 5 years. Marriott would NOT be happy with the appearance of this.
Overall, this hotel needs a major overhaul as its age is sadly overshadowing the positives of the hotel.

Upon arrival we learned that our family of 5 had been bumped from the 2 bed room that we had reserved into a room with 1 bed and the only explanation was that the hotel had 'oversold' their double rooms. No compensation was offered and no apologies were given, just a \"come back at 4 pm tomorrow and we can get you into the room you reserved.\"

On top of this, the room we were given had a broken AC unit that did not cool the room from the 78 degree temperature we arrived into despite maintenance coming to look at it. So there we were a family of 5 piled into one bed with no AC on a warm night in June with no offer to make it right for $195 a night.

The check in was chaotic and the check-in person wasn’t friendly or welcoming. She was blunt and to the point. There was no one to greet us or welcome us into the hotel or guide us or ask us if we needed anything. I had to keep asking questions. I had to ask a staff twice if they would bring cups to the room because they didn’t place any in there. There was no microwave in the room. The bathroom door does not have a lock. The a/c made noises all night long and it wasn’t that cool even when I turned the temperature down to 68 degrees. The indoor pool and hot tub needed to be inspected so we couldn’t get in and use that. We did use the ones outside and they were in good condition. I liked the areas for socializing and fire pits. I also liked there were bibles in the drawer because I didn’t bring mine with me. What I would recommend is that the customer service people be more friendly and welcoming.

Staff was very apologetic and offered to get engineering to look at it. We declined until the morning to not wake the baby. They promptly brought a fan to help cool off the room. Room could have used a slightly more thorough cleaning but was not dirty by any means. Would absolutely go back. Golf course is beautifully manicured and pool was great.

Overall this was a somewhat disappointing stay. When I saw the hotel on the site, it advertised a reduced rate, but by the time all of the hotel resort fees were added, my total bill was over $100 more than advertised.

And one of the things that I was looking forward to was using the hot tub / whirlpool. It was under maintenance and unavailable. I wish that type of information was known beforehand. And I did upgrade my room so that I could have a balcony. That was a mistake. The view from the balcony was of the hotel air conditioning units. Not good at all.

We went for a girls trip on Memorial Day weekend the four of us. Looking at the website, we felt like this would be an excellent four star hotel.
We got a room that had a balcony. The balcony was great. It was spacious and worth the extra cost except it had two like two person bed loungers, and one of them had no cushions on them so we could not use it.
Not so bad so far, but then we go down to the pool and the hot tub was out of order… we’re still trying to stay positive at this point. So we decide to go outside and sit around one of them many fire pits they have. It was raining earlier in the day, but it was no longer raining or thundering. Weather was fine yet we were told that they’re not allowed to light the fire pits because of the weather.
So then we decide to play cards in the lobby. Then all the firemen come in and the fire chief because a set of the elevators were not working. Thankfully, they got one set working so we didn’t have to go up five flights of stairs.
Maybe one issue would’ve been fine but one after the other after the other, just got to be a bit much and I didn’t feel it was worth the $200 a night stay in addition to a $21 resort fee fee. I would not stay here again.

Our a/c in our room didn’t work and the room was 77 degrees super hot. We called down to the front desk around 11pm when we got back from swimming and they said they’d send someone up. We waited 30-45 min and no one showed so had to call again and they apologized and said they’d try to get someone up. We were so tired from our day traveling. Or kids were super tired but couldn’t sleep in the heat. They sent maintenance up and he worked on it for a bit and told us to check about another room. They were able to get us another room on the same floor so we went and same thing. A/C wasn’t working. The maintenance guy said they just had someone there to work on the a/c so something must of happened. Finally about 12:30 we hopped to our 3rd room on a different floor and that a/c worked. The hotel didn’t give us any sort of discount with all the hassle we went through. Poor customer service. The hot tub was also cautioned off so we weren’t able to use that either.

Would have happily given this a 4-4.5 star review if it had not been for the rock hard beds and horrible pillows that made me so sore the entirety of our two night stay. Our booking for 2 queen beds was given away and they were all sold out when we arrived. They did offer a rollaway bed which worked for my 12 year old. Luckily my 7 year old was small enough to sleep on the chaise lounge. They did credit me $50 for the mix up, but yeesh I haven’t been this sore from a bed maybe ever.

The room itself was clean, and the hotel staff were very friendly and professional throughout our stay. However, the overall condition of the property felt a bit lacking. The pool and hot tub area appeared to need fresh paint and a more thorough cleaning. The ice machine near our room was not working, and an area of the ceiling by one of the elevators had numerous missing tiles, which detracted from the appearance. Our HVAC unit would only run quietly on the low setting and never seemed to shut off during our stay. I understand that maintaining a property of this size is an ongoing challenge, but it felt like the hotel is due for some general refreshing and upkeep.

The room was COLD and had numerous signs of wear. There was a crack above one of the windows that was fully exposed to the outside requiring maintenance to bolt on a metal strip to cover it. Air leaked in aggressively around all windows. We needed to keep the thermostat at 86 to battle the intruding cold air. There were wallpaper chips, flooring chips, extremely dated curtains, and a bumpy film in the bathtub that would not come up. The pool and hot tub were the ONLY redeeming qualities as they were warm and clean and SPACIOUS. We were also refused a luggage cart when we arrived and were forced to use bell-man services which we do not prefer. The evening desk staff were aloof but the morning desk attendant was extremely friendly. The restaurant was woefully understaffed so we left without using our paid breakfasts. This hotel may have had glory days in the 70s but it is badly in need of updating and maintenance now. Terrible value.
